AUTHOR'S NOTES: I think I'll st the supposed sequel in this fic since with my original plan it might only end with less than
10 chapters.

It had been a week since the dinner but she felt type of pain after seeing them like that after the dinner. how she envied the
girl who was in his arms, how she wished she was the one instead. It had become something like a ritual for hyuga hinata to
tail naruto since after the dinner. she had wanted to thank naruto for dinner but stopped as she saw the scene unfold before
her. shion had stopped in her tracks. as naruto turned around she flung herself onto him but what's more naruto had told her
something naruto only told sakura his old crush "don't worry I'll protect you". she felt like she was torn in half nothing her
father said in his whole life affected her that way but what naruto said had hurt as much as when neji had hit her square in
the heart. she never felt that way before, she always heard him say that to sakura before but never minded it but she was hurt
when she heard him say that to shion. she guessed she knew when it was with sakura it was only a crush thing and no more and
it would only dwindle into friendship but this girl seemed to have a hold on him which would last.
everyday she would follow naruto whenever he went out but she would be at his house at 6 in the morning. she would follow naruto
towards training and she noticed naruto was changing outfits more regularly. everyday naruto went about his daily things
training, missions and going to ichiraku ramen. she had tried tailing shion but she did nothing that interested her like shopping
getting to know the people and more social stuff.
one day she noticed that naruo was going home earlier than the usual so she thought something was not right. she saw naruto
was exceptionally cheerful and he went through the grocery store and was surprised to see him not carrying a ton of ramen,
literally, when he came out instead he was carrying an assortment of different fruits, vegetables, meats, bread and more. she
watched him carry it towards the restaurant they went to last week. at the door was jet waiting for someone who(surprise! surprise!)
was waiting for naruto. thay started to converse but with her byakugan(she used that to spy on naruto and shion in fears of being
found out) she could only see farther and not hear farther so she settled with trying to lip read as she was trained.
"hey jet thanks for the favor", naruto spoke cheerfully
"anything for an old friend", jet answered with a smile
"remember under the..."
"right right I still remember so don't keep repeating it naruto. even if you do call me an old man my memory is still better
than yours", jet answered dismissively.
"fine but if you mess-up I'm telling old man ichiraku to stop supplying you with ramen.", naruto told jet
"how'd you know that?", jet shocked
"hey I'm their best customer I know their ramen from any other cheap imitation", naruto spoke in as-a-matter-of-factly tone
"naruto I"m gonna get you one of these days", jet said as he shook his head
"you're gonna have to catch me offguard first hehe", naruto laughed back
hinata was not able to read their lips that well but from what she saw naruto was planning something but what? she started to
walk home as she knew naruto would go to his apartment. normally she would follow but she thought it might be better to return
to spying after getting something to eat first.
"come-out I saw you a mile away", hinata spoke though coldly not with her stutter which surprised her
"I see your byakugan has improved quite a bit", a stoic voice spoke
"not really neji-ni-san", hinata spoke clearly
"why so bitter?", neji asked
"what do you mean by that?", hinata raised her voice and eyebrow
"are you jealous of that girl?", neji asked but was surprised to see an open palm heading for his head and he had just about
half-a-second before the blow could connect and cause severe damage to his brain and senses.
"never speak to me about that subject", hinata spoke firmly
"touchy but hiashi-sama will be pleased to see you imroved so much in so short a time you seemed determined", neji still calm
"I bet your out here cause you just finished peeking on shion-san ne?", this time it was hinata's turn to dodge a blow aimed
straight for her heart. she met it with one of her own and tried a counter-attack but neji saw this coming and had intercepted
it.
"why so hot-blooded hinata-sama?", neji spoke through gritted teeth as he was still in a defensive position.
"I should ask you the same", hinata in the jyuuken pose
"heh I guess it doesn't matter as long as you've gotten stronger", neji spoke
"hmph", hinata giving neji a gaze which burned a white hot feeling onto anyone who met them
"fine I'm in love with the shion girl", neji finally broke 'goddamn that was intense'
"I see, I'm sure you know that I'm jealous of that girl", hinata more declared rather than confessed
"I know but I think it's a good thing that the shion girl came, she seems to push you to strive harder", neji said
"yes I guess I have changed thanks to her but I am still jealous of her", hinata
"as I am jealous of naruto ", neji relaxed
"I see", hinata relaxed as well
"then since we both have a mutual interest in the breaking-up of naruto-kun and shion-san, I propose an alliance", hinata offered
"I agree then", neji
"good then we take shifts spying on them", hinata
"who died and made you a feudal lord's wife", neji complained
"I did now move", hinata in said in the deadliest tone she could muster.
