Prologue: Meeting anew
It was with some trepidation that he moved through the trees, nothing but dark and damp foliage surrounding him for as far as the eye could see. He was alone… well, he was traveling alone. Although he was moving at an impossibly inhuman speed the scenery had hardly changed and that was beginning to annoy him. Scanning the oh-so-interesting mise-en-scene, he nearly missed the faint rustling in the bush and took most of his self control not to smirk superiorly at the small figure huddled inside the bushes, scrunched up and trying not to make a sound.
“Found you dobe,” he said, arms folded across his small torso, ebony hair falling into onyx eyes, slender pink lips curved into a small almost-a-smile-but-more-of-a-smirk smile as he watched the even smaller body jump a mile into the air, cerulean blue eyes widened in shock.
“I'm not a dobe, teme,” came the heated retort as the blonde in front of him clenched his fist to his sides, “how did you find me?”
“Any idiot could have found you but thankfully for you, one did not,” he smirked, letting a faint amount of amusement through his usually emotionless eyes.
Choosing to ignore the comment, the sunny blonde boy grasped his hand and muttered, “Can we go now? This place is creeping me out.”
A grunt was the only response he chose to give at that moment because he realized he had no clue where he was. Everything looked the same to him and no matter how hard he though about it he knew he was never going to remember what way he came.
Still, he didn't want to say that to frightened looking blonde who had come to mean more to him than anything else in the world, and so he slowly grasped the smaller hand and set of in a random direction hoping it was the right one.
After about an hour, he sadly had to let go of that meager and dwindling hope as he stared at a random tree for the umpteenth time, trying to determine whether he had seen it before.
“We're lost aren't we?” came a small voice from his side.
Peering over at the small scared and slightly shivering blonde next to him he sighed and replied, “Yea, we are. But its okay, like I always say, I'll take care of you no matter what, so don't worry.”
He watched a bright smile spread across the cerulean eyed boy's face and felt a jolt of warmness spread through his body.
“Thank you.”
Feeling pleased with himself, Sasuke turned to look at another tree when they both heard a noise- the noise they had been dreading. The rumbling of a Jeep four-by-four sounded, loud and relentless to the two young boys' ears and they both clutched unto one another.
“Please don't leave me Sasuke! You said you would always take care of me!”
Sasuke turned to face the blonde, to comfort him, to do something, when the jeep burst into the clearing followed by another.
Arms outstretched from the window clasped around his neck and pulled him roughly inside.
“SASUKE COME BACK!!! DON'T LEAVE ME! SASUKEEEEEEEEE!!!”
He heard before an almost blissful darkness surrounded him and the last thing he though was `What was your name?'

BEEP BEEP BEEP!
What the fuck?
Waking with a groan, ebony hair flopped listlessly into sleepy onyx eyes as Sasuke gave his alarm clock, which mockingly displayed the time 6:05, the infamous Uchiha glare and slammed his palm down unto the unsuspecting snooze button. As if in protest, the small electronic device started to let out a high pitched keening but was silenced miraculously by another Uchiha glare.
Fully prepared to get at least another hours rest, Sasuke was unprepared for his brother bursting into his bedroom, a small white apron covering his outfit for the day and brandishing a spoon at him while reminding him that he didn't want to be late for his first day in his new school.
Sitting up, this time Sasuke gave out an Uchiha Death glare and said between clenched teeth, “Get. The Fuck. Out OF. My Room. Right NOW Itachi.”
“Aww! Such a ray of sunshine you are in the morning,” Itachi said sarcastically while rolling his eyes at his younger brother.
“SHUT UP AND GET OUT,” came the screeching reply and a pillow to the face from Sasuke.
Laughing lightly at his brother, Itachi stepped back into the hallway, a smile on his face as he went off to find Kisame.
Rolling over into a sitting position and cursing his brother the whole time, Sasuke stuck his face in his hands and shook his head slowly from side to side.
It had been a long, long time since he had had that dream. Perhaps it was because he had moved back to the hometown he had spent his life with until he was eleven and his parents had died. In fact, he couldn't really remember his life before moving away to Korea. He had a feeling that the dream was more than a dream but he could never remember the name of the boy who was always beside him. It was never always the same dream. Usually it started out with the two of them doing some activity together and then it would skip to this part of the dream. Yet even so, this time had been the first he had seen the ending of that part. Usually the dream would end at the lost part when he didn't know where he was but today there seemed to more to it as he had sure as hell never seen the jeeps before.
Finally deciding to stop moping, Sasuke got up and went into the bathroom to begin his daily ritual only stopping to grab a towel before stalking into the bathroom and de-clothing himself of his pajamas. Finally stepping under the spray he hummed happily to himself while applying his favorite strawberry scented shampoo into his ebony locks. Stepping out of the shower, squeaky clean and groomed, he proceeded with his ritual.
Rinse and tone, cleanse and moisturize and finally shave and moisturize again. Although he had never had stubble or five o'clock shadow in his life, Sasuke was paranoid he was going to get one as a revenge stunt from puberty and so he shaved every day. Finally happy with his look, he set about his hair. Yes that's right, his oh-so-perfectly-gorgeous-and-silky hair. Grabbing a pot of gel from his vanity cabinet Sasuke applied it to the back of his hair to give it its extra bit of volume. Then, with a suspicious glance around the room, pulled out an eyeliner pencil and line his eyes with very dark black eyeliner.
Pleased with his final look he stalked back out of the bathroom and smirked as he found his new uniform, complete with packed book-bag, lying on his bed waiting for him to put them on.
`Thanks big bro,' he thought to himself, picking up the uniform and slipping into it, shivering at first as the cool material met his still slightly overheated body.
Glancing into the mirror once last time Sasuke nodded at himself in approval and walked elegantly out of his room and downstairs to the kitchen.
There he walked in on Itachi and Kisame getting in some last minute affection.
“Oh, get a room you two,” moaned Sasuke, gracefully dropping his head unto the bar area as his sleepiness took over again.
“Ah! It lives,” smiled Kisame, his sharp teeth giving him the look of a shark.
“Shut it fin boy,” snarled Sasuke, grabbing a piece of toast before snatching his car keys up.
Delivering the two love birds a final glare, Sasuke slammed the front door -getting his sleeve stuck to the amusement of Itachi and Kisame- and got into his car before screeching away, leaving smoking tire tracks in his wake.

The last thing of his parents and the life he used to know was that letter they had sent him, or more accurately, the postcard they had sent him. It was an extremely frustrating postcard because not only did he not remember them much but the name of his `friend' had been smudged out. Sasuke was pretty damn sure that the name that went there belonged to the blonde hair blue-eyed kid in his dreams. As he sped haphazardly through streets almost like a drunk driver he vaguely wondered if he would ever meet that person in his dreams ever again.
Dismissing the thought with a snort, Sasuke pulled into a parking space in the school's parking lot and made his way inside the foreign building. It was really stupid how he had to move to a whole new school when he was only going to be there for his final year as a senior.
Sighing, he followed the signs that said principal's office and knocked on the door when he reached it.
“Is that you Naruto, you damn brat?” came the response to his knocking.
Taken aback Sasuke frowned and replied, “No. My name is Uchiha Sasuke and I'm new here.”
“Oh… you. Come in,” floated the female voice again and a bit apprehensively, Sasuke opened the door and stepped into a large cream and red decorated office.
Behind a lovely carved red cherry desk sat a rather young looking and busty blonde with a brunette women stood next to her, a scowl on her delicate features.
“It's alright Shizune. You can go now,” said the blonde woman to the brunette.
“Yes Tsunade-sama,” replied the brunette who bowed swiftly and exited through a small door on the side which Sasuke hadn't noticed before.
“Uchiha Sasuke isn't it?” she questioned and when he nodded she smiled slightly and continued.
“Welcome to Raiden High! Here's your schedule and I'll just get Shizune to send someone up to show around campus.”
A grunt was the only reply she got and feeling just a bit annoyed she cackled inwardly to herself and picked up her phone, tapping in the number for her secretary.
“Ah yes, Shizune, could you please call Naruto -yes him- to the office. I want him to escort our new student around. Yes, I know… they might! Just do it Shizune.”
Sasuke looked on with confusion at their conversation and actually jumped when Tsunade slammed the phone down, almost breaking the poor machine.
After about five minutes of extremely uncomfortable silence there was a knock at the door and a shout of, “What the hell do you want old hag?”
Sighing with relief, Tsunade schooled her expression into one of annoyance as Naruto burst into the room.
“What the hell was that brat?” she yelled, throwing a -probably important- memo at his head as he ducked and smiled.
“Well, you are looking a bit old and wrinkly and a trip to the gym wouldn't hur-” he was cut off by smack to the face as he stepped back slightly from the force, “Owww!”
“You deserved that brat! Now shut up so I can send you away,” Tsunade growled, her hands balled into fists.
Sasuke had just watched this interaction with an air of bored amusement. Eventually he perked up enough interest to listen to them as they got back on topic.
“This is the new student and I want you to show him around,” she said matter-of-factly.
“What!? Why?!” came the high pitched whine from Naruto.
“Because I said so baka,” she grinned triumphantly.
Finally turning to look at the person he was supposed to be in charge of, Naruto spun around to ask for a bit of help when he froze, cerulean eyes wide open in shock.
“His name is-” she began before she was cut off by a gasp from Naruto.
“S-Sa-Sasuke?” the blonde stuttered, not being able to believe it was true.
Looking up at the mention of his name, his eyes widened as cerulean eyes met onyx for the first time in six years.
