The Lord shuddered and looked down. His wife decided to speak up instead. “Orochimaru is after Kuri and Kajuji and the Akatsuki are after Kuniko…”
Sasuke’s suspicious look transformed into one of determination. “Don’t worry. We’ll protect them at all costs.” Naruto and Sakura looked at him in shock but then turned back to the Lord and Mistress with their own looks of determination.
“Believe it!” Naruto gave them a thumbs up. “No one is getting past us!”
- in the other room with Kuniko, Kuri, and Kajuji-
Kuniko had her ear pressed to the door. She heard the whole thing. She glared at the wall across from her as her eyes started to water. “I don’t get it! What’s so special about the Akatsuki?! I can take care of myself!” Kuri and Kajuji exchanged wary glances.
“Don’t get too worked up about it sister. Just forget about it. We’re here and this is where we’re staying. We should try to make the best of it.” Kuri stated.
“Agreed brother.” Kajuji said.
“Well I disagree. I’m not staying here!”
“honestly, what’s so bad about this place?” Kajuji asked. Kuri gave her a confused look.
“I was happy in our old home! This is unnecessary! Now everyone is going to treat us like we’re delicate little ornaments that will shatter if looked at the wrong way! I’m by no means weak! I refuse to let other people try to protect me! Especially if they could get hurt for something easily prevented if I just went with them…”
“Don’t say that!” Both brothers shouted at the same time.
“You’re the daughter of a very powerful Lord and Mistress!” -Kuri
“As we are their sons!” -Kajuji
“Our parents love us way to much to just let some evil ninja take us!” -Kuri
“Yeah, Imagine them taking us captive!” -Kajuji
“They’d have all the power!” -Kuri
“You know the mom and dad wouldn’t just ignore us!” -Kajuji
“They’d give those ninja anything they wanted just to get us back!” -Kuri
“Which means, they could take the seat of power of the Land of Water extremely easily if they got a hold of us!” -Kajuji
“We’re more important than you think we are!” -Kuri
“And honestly, I’ve heard about this ninja and what they can do, there’s no way the three of us would last five minutes against them!” -Kajuji
“All we can do is blend in, stay here, and keep a low profile!” -Kuri
“Don’t ever consider just giving yourself up again!” -Kajuji
“ALL RIGHT! ALL RIGHT! Enough with the double speech already! I get it! Bad ninja-strong. Royal pains in the asses-weak. Strong beats Weak. Strong captures Weak. Strong takes over everything Weak used to have.” Kuniko growled. She was so unbelievably stubborn.
Kuri and Kajuji sighed in frustration. “I have an idea!” Kajuji suddenly said.
Kuri and Kuniko looked at him in exasperation. “What is it now?” Kuri asked.
“How about tonight, we go to the public hot springs and see if we can meet some people our own age. Maybe if we knew some people our age, it’d be just that much easier to stay here.” Kajuji reasoned.
Kuri perked up. “Hmm, that’s not a bad idea. You’ve had much much worse.”
“Oh shut up brother.”
“Well I’m in. How about you Kuniko?”
“Do they allow pets?” She asked casually.
“I think so. Most do.” Kuri answered.
“Then I guess it won’t hurt.” Kuniko smirked slightly. She loved her brothers. They were her closest friends even though they had their occasional arguments, they were always there for her.
- Back with Tsunade and everyone else-
“Well now that that’s all settled, Sasuke, Sakura, and Naruto, I want you three to stay here at all times. You will be temporarily moving in. So I’d like you to run back to your homes right now, and pack some stuff that you’ll need that will last you a few days. You’ll be able to do your laundry here. Naruto I’ll uphold your apartment while you’re gone. Now off with you all.” Tsunade waved her hand. The three of them nodded and dashed off.
The Lord turned to his wife. “Do you think you could go check on the kids while I ask Tsunade something?” The Mistress nodded and walked off silently towards the room they all disappeared into. “Tsunade.”
“Yes, Lord Hayashi?”
“I’m sure those three are very strong and capable, but my kids are a handful and honestly, I’d feel more comfortable if you had a few more ninja stay here with them as well. Is that a possibility?”
“Of course, Lord! That’s not a problem at all! I completely understand! If that’s all, I’ll make my way off to my office and look through files and see who’s available and get your paperwork ready. Just stop by anytime today and we’ll go through everything!”
“Thank you Lady Tsunade.”
“Oh, please don’t be formal! It’s really not a problem.” She flashed a sweet smile then shook his hand before walking off with Shizune in tow.
The Lord walked back into the room with his wife and kids. They had been filled in about the ninjas moving in and weren’t too thrilled. Well Kuniko wasn’t at least. “But mother! We don’t need so much protection!”
“Whether you need it or not, it’s going to be there, so you better get used to it young lady.” She had her arms crossed and was staring down at her daughter. Kuniko looked over at her brothers and saw them shaking their heads.
- Later in the afternoon-
Tsunade was at her desk, the paperwork for the Hayashi’s on the corner of her desk while she sorted through ninja’s files to see who was available. She was pleased when she realized that nearly all of them were available and that she even had the assistance of some of the sand ninjas since they were going to be in Konoha for the next few months on a vacation. She pulled out six files and decided that would be enough. There would be at least three ninjas watching one of the Hayashi kids. She’d run the ninjas by Lord Hayashi first and make sure he was ok with them, then she’d call them in to tell them about the mission. As if someone had called him Lord Hayashi stepped into her office. “Ah, Lord Hayashi! Welcome!” She smiled brightly.
“Thank you Tsunade.”
“Please pull up a chair.” He did so. He sat down comfortably in front of Tsunade’s desk. She pushed the paperwork over to him first. “Here’s the paperwork, just fill it out, it’s pretty self explanatory.” He nodded and started filling everything out. Just then the sand siblings from Suna stepped in.
“Excuse me, Lady Tsunade, might we have a word?” Temari asked politely.
“Sure, do I need to step out of the room with you?”
“Oh, no. It’s really not a huge deal whether it’s private or not. We just wanted to verify with you, where we’ll be staying. We obviously just got into town and we’d like to rest.”
“Actually, if you’ll wait about ten minutes I’ll help you with that.”
“Sure no problem. Should we wait outside?”
“Yes, please.” Temari nodded and walked back outside the office, shutting the door behind her and her brothers.
“Here’s the paperwork, it’s completed.” Lord Hayashi said, holding out the paper.
Tsunade took it and scanned through it quickly then tossed it into one of the drawers of her desk. “Thank you. Now I’d just like to go over some names of ninjas that are available for this mission and who are ideal. If you agree with them, I’ll send for them right away and have them start preparing.” Tsunade picked up the six files.
“Sounds good to me.” He smiled brightly. She nodded and began flipping through the files, telling Lord Hayashi every possible detail about the ninja that qualifies them for the position. After a few more minutes they were done. “Well it sounds like you made some excellent decisions and I think these ninja will be perfect for the job. I’ll just leave everything in your capable hands.” He shook Tsunade’s hand and started to walk out.
“Thank you Lord.” He turned and smiled then walked out. “Shizune.” Said person walked over to Tsunade.
“Yes?”
“Would you please track down Neji Hyuuga, Kiba Inuzuka, and Shikamaru Nara for me? Have them come to my office ASAP.”
“Yes, Lady Tsunade.” And she was off.
“Temari, Gaara, Kankuro! You three may come in now.” The three ninja walked back in and Tsunade began explaining everything.
“Sounds good, I’ll do it.” Temari said happily. “Sounds like it could be fun. It’s like a giant sleepover.
“I’m in too!” Said Kankuro excitedly.
“Me too.” Gaara said emotionlessly.
“Excellent. Do you have everything you need with you right now?” Tsunade asked. The three nodded. “Then just sit tight while Shizune gets the other three ninjas that will be assisting you.”
“Assistance? We don’t need assistance.” Kankuro said smugly.
“Well this client wants at least three ninjas for each of his sons and his one daughter. Three are already packing as we speak and are probably on their way to the house, and I’m waiting on three more besides you guys.” Tsunade retorted.
“This will definitely be interesting.” Temari said.
- A few minutes later-
“You called for me Tsunade?” *Yawn*
“Yes, Shikamaru, I have a mission for you…” (And she continued to explain yadda yadda yadda…) “Will you take on the mission?”
“How troublesome. But I guess I don’t really have a choice. At least I’m being paid well…” He stuffed his hands in his pockets and looked at Tsunade groggily. “So what do I do now?”
“Go pack and meet me back here in a half an hour.” Shikamaru nodded before disappearing.
Just then Two more people appeared. “You called?” they both said.
“Ah, Kiba and Neji. Excellent. I have a mission for you…” (Again with the explaining… wow this must be a tiring job…) “So do you accept the mission?”
“Sure, why not? I’ve got nothing else to do and protecting a beautiful princess doesn’t sound too bad either.” Kiba said.
Neji glared at him. “Although I’m not sure about you’re choice of ninjas…” key glare from kiba. “I accept, any mission is better than doing nothing.”
“Perfect. Now off with you both, go pack and meet me back here in half an hour.”
-Half an hour later-
Everyone was back in Tsunade’s office with their stuff. Kiba with a bouquet of flowers… Tsunade started giving them detailed directions on where the house was. It only took minutes before they all easily sprinted off towards the house. They arrived in minutes and weren’t surprised to see how big the house was. While everyone started wondering where exactly the house even came from, Temari walked up to the front door and knocked. Everyone was quiet and listened for movement. They heard someone walk to the door and open it. It was a boy with bronze hair and sparkling blue eyes. “Oh hey, you guys must be the ninjas Tsunade and my father picked out. Come on in.” He stepped aside and let the flood of amazed ninjas enter the glorious house. He shut the door behind them. “I’m going to assume you guys already know them, right?” The boy pointed to Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke sitting on the couch. The new ninjas nodded, unfazed. They had a feeling at least one of them were going to be on the mission too. “Well, I’m Kuri Hayashi, this is my twin brother Kajuji Hayashi, and our little sister Kuniko Hayashi.” Kajuji waved and Kuniko pretty much ignored them. Kuniko was sitting on the couch in the living room next to her mom. Koinu jumped up into Kuniko’s lap and licked her hand. She pat her on the head but didn’t take her analyzing eyes off the ‘intruders’. Then her eyes fell on the flowers one them was holding. He was flashing a brilliant smile at her. She wasn’t sure what to think. She just turned her attention to Koinu and continued to try and ignore them. She felt the flower boy move closer to her and her mom elbowed her. She looked up at him reluctantly.
“Hey there, princess Kuniko. My name’s Kiba Inuzuka and you look familiar, have I seen you before? Oh yeah! You look like my next girlfriend!” Her mouth dropped open. That had to be the worst pick up line she’d ever heard! She turned to look at her mother, her mouth agape. ‘He can’t be serious.’ She thought. Her mother was giggling. She turned back and he was blushing and holding out the flowers. ‘He is…’ She decided that it wasn’t without good intentions and he obviously didn’t mean it to be insulting.
She laughed nervously. “Well I don’t know about that but thank you.” She gave him a real smile and accepted the flowers. She caught a glimpse of her brothers on the floor laughing their asses off and she reached down and grabbed her wooden sandals and chucked one at each of them, hitting her mark. But unfortunately they just laughed harder. ‘Oh boy… this is gunna be really fun having all these people living here… without my parents around… I wonder if anyone brought a gun…’
