Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ Forbidden ❯ The abandoned building ( Chapter 3 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
Sorry if any of the chapters seem a bit short. I wrote most of this over the summer so what's done is done… and I post this on many sites so it would take a long time to change them all. Anyhow, here's some fan art I made for Forbidden in July '08… I don't like it as much anymore since I've improved in my artistic skills but it works… http://liliedove.deviantart.com/art/Nara-Azarni-91693758

“This, this is it? Is the place we were going to that you kept such secrecy of,” Azarni said looking around her.
The four of them were in a falling apart, abandoned building. The ground was concrete, and stained, with what; Azarni did not even want to know. The building did not have a door that opened up into the streets, but had a door at the back of the building. It was a two-story building, which looks like a rectangle. If you picture it from a bird's eye view looking directly down at it, the door that the group of teenagers was entering through was at the top right corner of it.
Directly ahead of them about four feet, was an old, wooden stairway that went up to the next floor. Beyond the staircase, a good twelve feet or so away, was a wooden door that was almost closed. Next to the door, was a love seat that was covered with a white sheet, and at the other end of the room, against the short wall of the rectangle, about thirty feet away, was a couch that could fit about five people easily, and was also covered by a white sheet. Behind the couch, was a window that was broken, and boarded off with two wooden planks diagonally like the others. There were three other windows, about ten feet apart from one another, on the wall in which the door was.
“When did you discover this,” Ren said with a disgusted look on her face, with Rin following her example as she walked around one of the stains.
“About a month ago,” the young man said walking into the middle of the room. “ I thought it would be cool to just, you know, explore a bit.”
“It seems a bit dangerous though, don't you think, gross!” Ren asked, as she looked at a bloodstain that was splattered on the wall under the stairs. Azarni who was now next to the twins, looked at the stain as well, and felt a bit uneasy.
“Perhaps there was a murder hear at some point, should we stay here? I don't think our parents would be to happy if it were so,” Azarni stated.
“Fine, then what will we do,” Yokio asked with a frown playing on his face. “I doubt you could think of anything better to do. You're usually the one who likes taking challenges like these.” Now crossing his arms, he left the building with the twins gladly following him.
“Where are you guys going,” Azarni asked half way out of the doorway, with her hand on the doorpost. Looking back at her, Yokio beckoned to her, and turned to keep going. Sighing, Azarni turned and gave the building one last look before she bolted off to catch up with her friends. “Where are we going,” she asked once again. Raising his eyebrows, the boy shrugged and turned onto a forest trail that started only about forty feet south of the broken down building.
“I wonder where this leads to. I've never gone down this trail before,” Rin stated as she rested her head back on her arms. Looking over each of her friend's faces, as if asking for the answer, she landed on Azarni's face and found something of interest. “Hey Azarni, have you ever been down this trail?”
“No,” she answered blankly, as she looked to her toes. Smirking, her rowdy friend leaned toward her with raised eyebrows.
“Then why are you so nervous? You never act this way unless you know you are doing something bad. What's your problem in this place?”
“Well we are not doing something bad exactly now, but this is my clan's forest,” she stated. Rin then gave her an odd look and went back to her old position of resting her head on her hands, behind her head.
“Why does that make you nervous Azarni,” Ren asked with curiosity in her voice. “Did something bad happen in there or something in the like?” Azarni's head then shot up and she nodded her head no.
“Not that I know of,” she said with a questionable face. “But for over a hundred years now, we've been forbidden to go past a certain point of the forest, near here. Why, I have no clue, but some say that once you reach a certain age the elders of the clan will tell you the secret.”
“What a mystery, I wish I knew what happened,” Ren exclaimed.
“I wish I could find out as well, but it seems that I'm “not mature enough” to be told yet,” the Nara girl said throwing her hands in the air and kicking the wood shavings that laid out the pathway.
“Then find out!”
“W-what do you mean,” Azarni said with a bewildered face. Turning to look at her, Yokio played a sly grin on his face and replied.
“Just what I said, go find out for yourself, you said that the entrance to the forbidden section is near this trail, am I right? Then go into it, and find out!”
“Y-our, are you serious,” Azarni asked, trying to see if any trickery was in his eyes. She searched for a good while, and found none. Pausing for a moment, the girl slouched back and grinned devilishly. “Are you challenging me to do so?”
Replying with a smirk, the Jonin nodded his head and turned completely around to face her. Ren gave Rin a questioning look; Rin just shrugged.
“Alright, I except your challenge,” the young women declared, not knowing that this challenge, wound change her life forever.
