Grand Summoning Jutsu

Gaara lay sprawled across the couch in the living room, his head slightly turned facing the TV and his arm up over his head griping the back arm of it. She lay on top of him on her stomach, fast asleep to the movie they decided to watch together, Shrek 2. Her head rest to the side, her cheek flat against his chest as his breathing caused her to rise and fall with the rhythm of the soft panting slipping from the core of his body. Her arm draped lazily over the side of the couch near the books, planner and pencil that stacked neatly on the floor.

She had been working hard the past week and a half planning their wedding, working and taking care of him and his brother. The stress was building up on her to the point of exhaustion, hens the reason for her sleeping on him through the movie now. Her eyes couldn't bring themselves to stay open for the better part of the film as she found herself slipping in and out of weariness. The darkness of the room didn't help with her drowsiness, with the light flicker of the lights radiating from the TV as the screens had changed.

She felt him laugh a few times as the movie progressed, the deep heave slightly bounced her up and down as he chuckled at parts. Especially hard at the 'ugly step sister' part and the woman turned to reveal a man dressed in drag with a husky voice as he spoke.

"hum" Maya groaned stirring a little in her place, wrapping her arm that lay behind her around, underneath his shoulder. She let out a soft huff as her consciousness became more aware of her surroundings, slipping from her sleep. "sorry...." She managed to breath out.

He said nothing tilting his head down shifting his eyes to look down at the still semi sleeping girl that lay over him. His movements began to shift from it's place laying on the couch lifting her with him. He pushed himself to sit, positioning the girl to prepare to lift her in his arms. Wrapping his arm around her back and the other under both her knees he lifted her from her resting place and began to carry her down the hall. He felt her stir somewhat as his strong arms found themselves hugging her in his hold, her sweet face titled into his chest her arms resting in over her own stomach.

In opening the door he tipped himself with her cuddled in his arms letting the door swing open. Carrying her small frame to the bed, he then laid her into the soft mattress pulling the covers over her sleeping form. She stirred in a restless manner trying to get comfortable as she once was in his hold, she settled on a final resting place and halted her rustling. The young Kage leaned over her and kissed her softly on the forehead in an attempt at a good night kiss.

"sleep well" his whispered fell to deaf ears. He made his way perching himself on the window ceil in their room to look up at the moon, now shining brightly in the sky. It has been a long time since he has done it, where he could get lost in the wonder of the glowing circular planet that hung low over the desert. The last time was that night with her, where she approched him for the first time. His hunched frame crouched between each side of the window frame prompting one knee up draping his arm over it as he sat in the silence of the room, thinking.

~*~*~*~*~(morning)

"hum, B rank mission" he heaved quietly from his desk, the three Chunin and one Jounin, Kankuro, stood before him awaiting his orders. "I think you are more than capable" his eyes lifted staring at the 3 at attention. "it's an escort mission, the client is waiting near the gates for you"

~hum~ Maya hummed to herself sitting at the kitchen table tapping the end of her pencil on it with her nose tipping into her planner. ~almost ready~ she smiled ~just a couple of more things to do~ straightening herself, seeming to be quite proud of her achievements in such a short period of time. "the sand man asks for much" her eyes danced with the thought of him wanting to marry her so soon.

She lifted herself from her chair closing the book and stuffing the pencil in the coil. She slipped it under her arm as she walked out of the room "hum, I wonder if he has a bit of time" she giggled making her way to his office.

Her legs carried her to the open door of his room hearing his quiet but firm voice give the young group of ninja their orders. She peaked her head around the door frame to find his nose tipped down to his paper as he spoke, and ran his pencil along it writing as the ninja were getting ready to depart. His icy irises lifted to find her bright blue eye staring into the office, half her face was covered from her trying to hide until he was finished.

"yes..." An uneasy look swept over his look, and his eyes became soft as he questioned her presents. Kankuro of course drew his attention to the small girl as she emerged from hiding and made her way at his side. The red head's mouth was slightly open as Kankuro's flat look turned into a smile.

"I have a few questions" her sweet voice echoed though his ears, his eyes now wide that she would come in the middle of his day to ask him questions that could wait until later. But he figured it must be important since she felt she had to come right away. Baki only crossed his arms at his place next to the young Kage, awaiting the young woman to finish so they may continue on with handing out missions.

"OK...." He answered in his flat tone. Of course Kankuro and the 3 other ninja in the room found it in themselves to stick around as long as possible to get a glimpse of this girl the Kazekage was so gone over.

"What kind of flowers do you want." she followed in a cheery voice. " and I need to know what two you'll have stand with you" as she reached for the book under her arm to open it holding it in her hand waiting for Gaara to answer her.

His heart sank at the questions, his eyes fell wide and his mouth dropped even more than it already had since her arrival. The apparent flush tone emerged over his cheeks, as snickers filled the room of the people that had heard, Kankuros' chuckle was heard above the rest.

Maya's beautiful smile dropped as she scanned the room then back to her embarrassed fiance, she didn't think anything was wrong with her question, she just needed his opinion for her to proceed with her planning.

"do you need to do this now" his light blue-green irises shifted to the corner of his socket from where is nose stay pointed downwards, his tone had a quiver of embarrassment. His eyes scanned over her face, now frowning. Nothing, absolutely nothing could prepare the young man for what happened next.

Her pencil flew on to his lap in frustrations "you're the one who wanted to do this so fast" she sounded as though she would burst into tears at that moment. Gaara straightened himself at his desk his eyes wide shifting from her angry face to the pencil she had thrown at him. "I just needed SOME help" she slammed the book shut that made a loud bang, her eyes narrowed from her anger and she stormed out of his office. "you stop laughing" she point directly at Kankuro who was now trying to keep his laughter to himself. She grabbed the knob of the door and slammed it shut behind her the sound crashed echoing though, she was sure, the entire central office.

Gaara let his head drop, his forehead making contact as it bounced a little off the surface of his desk. "gah..." He grunted. ~I've never seen her like that....~ he paced in his head getting flashes of her anger directed at him.

"Kazekage"

his eyes opened as he turned his body slightly not removing his forehead from the desk, to the stern voice of Baki "yeah" he huffed.

"go talk to her, calm her down." he smiled, as if it was forced since he didn't seem to smile much. "I will take care of things for you here." he finished.

~what happened to the peaceful girl I tucked in last night.~ he grumbled in his thoughts.

~*~*~*~*~*~

"Maya!" he raised his voice from behind their door, his large hand reach for the knob and tried to open it only to find out it was locked. He jiggled it his hand to confirm that it was, she locked him out. "what the hell, MAYA!" his flat tone became almost a yell. Pressing his ear against the door he heard slight sniffle noises in her voice. She was crying, but why?

"go away" she sniffed, her voice was now quivering as she cried.

"come on, open it up." he paused in his words as he turned the knob again becoming impatient. "or I will open it by force."

"just go back to work"

"Maya" he ground his teeth. She was going to make him take the door apart if she didn't open it and he was getting very antsy waiting for her to change her mind on letting him in. "fine!" he nearly yelled at her from the other side.

Maya lifted her head from her knees, she sat on her bed with the book open looking down at all the work she had done for them both. She hugged her legs into her chest and let her forehead fall to her knees. She could hear his anger from the other side and knew if he wanted to get in he could, no problem. Her suspicion was right, as she lifted her eyes towards the door making creaking noises mixed with the soft running of rushing sand. It had found its way covering the entire door in a thick shell, as he flicked his wrist to control it.

"Desert Coffin" a stern loud Gaara closed his fist only to have the sand crush the door with in it, in a million pieces. He stepped in over the grains darting his pale angry eyes to Maya. She was now standing on the bed with her arms up covering her face when she felt his warm hand wrap around one of her wrists and pulled her down in a jerk.

"Gaara... Let go" she struggled but was unable to free herself from his grip. When he pulled her from the bed to the floor and landed in front of her, her bare feet made a slight tap in hitting the the flat surface. Her eyes now wide with fear staring up in to his eyes.

"listen" his voice became more gentle as he griped both her upper arms in each of his hands holding her in her place. "look at me Maya, does it look like it matters what I want at this thing?" his eyes went from stern to soft in a matter of seconds scanning over her tear filled face. "whatever you want, I am OK with it." he grunted.

"I just wanted your opinion" she whined turning her head to the floor.

He shook her slightly to lift her head to him once more. "it doesn't matter to me" he huffed "just, don't stress yourself over small things"

"I want it to be nice." the tears began to swell in her sockets once again.

"why are you crying, you haven't cried in a long time...."

"I don't know..."

His eyes shot forward as the contracted in complete fear. ~Naruto.....~ remembering back to their conversation at the breakfast table. a small smirk lifted from the corner of his mouth. "Kankuro and Naruto" his deep voice fell onto her ears as she lifted her head to him.

She swept the tears as best she could from her eyes "thank you" she sniffed in wrapping her arms around to his back and hugging him tightly with a handful of his robes bunched in each hand.

"OH MY GOD!" Temari stepped over the pieces of the broken door and made her way into the room.

Maya pulled away from his chest to peak around at the shocked blond ninja.

"your crying?" she spoke in a whisper watching Gaara turn his head slowly to look at her. "what did he do?" she made her way over to her friend and shot a nasty look at her younger brother.

"it's nothing" she let go of him and turned to her friend.

"you better get someone to fix that" she grunted at the red head and pointing at the broken door.

"yeah" he turned to walk out leaving the two girls to themselves.
