Grand Summoning Jutsu
Maya leaned on the kitchen counter with her elbows, hunching her upper half over and her nose tilted towards the open magazine sprawled out on the flat surface. wearing her jogging shorts and tank top she was ready for her morning workout. her bare foot lifted it self and rubbed the back of her other leg, to satisfy an itch she had but was too into her reading to scratch it sooner. her brown hair done in two pigtails folding over themselves to keep strands from falling in her face when she began her run. her little white ipod was, of course strapped around her upper arm with the long white headphone cords wrapped around her neck falling over her should and dangled there until she was ready to use them.
It was the morning after his birthday, but the building was quiet. the company that had stay with them for the weekend seemed to have enjoyed themselves to the point of exhaustion. many of the boys fell asleep in the living room, around the TV as they played Tekken until the early hours of the morning. slight snores could be heard from them as their breathing stayed constant with their deep slumber.
"you're up early" his familiar flat tone fell to her ears. she slowly turned to look over her shoulder at the tall wind kage standing leaning against the kitchen door frame. " they made a bet to see who could stay up the longest." he paused "I won" he smirked.
"I'm going for a jog" she followed with a smile at his comment.
Pushing himself from his lean, he made his way to the counter where she was reading her magazine. he fell to his elbows as she did on the other corner, his eyes fell to the pages she was reading.
"why do you read that?" he questioned.
"you asked me this before" her tone was monotone and flat from her reading. "I'm still a girl, I like this romantic stuff they write about." she tapped her fingernails along the hard surface of the marble counter, the sound was dull and quiet as they made contact.
His pale Iris rose to her lowered face and scanned her from head to torso, from what he could see over the counter. biting his bottom lip, his heart raced and breath shortened silently at the sight of her. the way she looked, the way she acted her smile her smell everything about her, he could not get enough of her.
"what did you do last night?" her question broke him from his own thoughts.
"just in the living room, with everyone else." he managed to croak out.
"want something to eat before I take off?" she started "I'll just chuck on an omelette or something."
He said nothing as he continued to watch the young woman engulfed in her reading. she slowly lifted herself from her hunched position with her nose still finding it hard to move from the words of her story, trying to get the last bit in before starting his breakfast.
His large hand reached across the flat surface of the counter and wrapped it around her wrist. her eyes fluttered at him, snapping her trance. a small smile curled at the corner of her lips as he tugged her from her corner to his, until she was standing in front of him. her head barely reached his chest as his tall figure stood at its full height before her. his head tilted down looking into the surprised blue and green eyes of his fiance. their hands dropped at the sides as she found herself so close to him she was nearly pressing against his warm body. his free arm wrapped around her waist in order for him to pull her in the rest of the way, while the other releasing her wrist and sliding his fingers between hers.
"I don't know what's wrong with me...." he whispered.
her eyes widened with confusion at his comment "what do you mean?"
"I've never been this way with anyone.... " he began "but yet when I am around you I get this sharp feeling in my chest." her eyes lowered listening to his words, he has never expressed his feelings for her only because he was not good at it. he loved her but has never told her so, although he figured she must have known. "and it's funny, I always figured myself as the silent ninja type. I didn't think much of girls because I was too busy." his breathing became heavier as he continued to hold her. "but you...."
"Gaara..." her eyes almost seemed to dance with joy flicking them back to stare at him, hearing him finally tell her what he was thinking.
"I Lo...." his sentence was cut off suddenly by Naruto's incredibly loud stretch with a yawn to follow.
"morning" he managed to huff out, dropping his arms back to his sides. his blue eyes raised to find the two in each others arms, Gaaras light blue-green eyes staring wide eyed and Maya turning her head in an uncomfortable position looking at him. "bad timing....." he got the feeling something important was about to go down, and he just messed it up.
"morning" Gaara followed removing his arm from around the small brunette and letting her other hand fall at her side as he released it. he made his way to the table and sat at the farthest corner. his elbows on the table and arms crossed in front of him. his red hair was all that was visible now as his eyes fell to the surface of the table.
"It's ok, I'm about to make Gaara breakfast, want some?" Maya spoke, in an almost shocked voice watching the kazekage take his place in an almost pout. ~he was about to tell me...~ her voice echoed in her head.
"yeah, why not" he yawned once again, taking his place on the other side of Gaara. "sorry man" his whisper fell to a low.
Gaara just shook his head and shrugged at the Blond, as he lifted his head slightly and his Irises shifted to Maya, now hunched in the fridge pulling out eggs, and vegetables to make him something to eat.
The sound of sizzling and crackling came from in front of her, as she cracked the eggs with one hand, she tossed the shells in the garbage as each yoke and whites were oozed into the pan. she drew her attention to cutting and chopping the vegetables, tomatoes, onion, green pepper, mushroom. all stacked in piles waiting to be added into the mix. she sprinkled the different veggies on top of the frying egg and followed with the breaking of a few more and allowed them to sizzle on top. he flipped the omelette once with the spatula and allowed the other side to cook.
Naruto took a large breath in sucking in any aroma he could from the smell of the meal to come. "that smells awesome" a huge smile spread across his face. Maya used the knife to cut pieces of a strawberry and kiwi to place on the side . she used the spatula to slice the egg in half and placing each half on two separate plates. the fruit she situated on the side of the dish so the boys could eat it after they were finished with the omelette.
"all done" her fingers gripped the edge of each plate, carrying one in each hand and easing them in front of the two young men. "well, I'm gonna head out" she looked down at the red head his attention was on the food she had placed in front of him. "I'll be back soon."
Of course Naruto had already started diving into his breakfast. "this is amazing...." his muffled voice began between stuffing bits into his mouth. "Gaara, you will never starve. your so lucky to be marring her. Can I borrow her sometime?" he chuckled as the Kage huffed sticking his fork into his egg.
"thanks, Naruto but no one is going to borrow me" she narrowed her eyes in a playful way as she waved over her shoulder leaving. Gaara's eyes fell to her, to have one last glimpse of her before she left him with Naruto.
"So when you gonna do this?" Naruto spoke after a few minutes as the two boys were now left alone in the kitchen.
"I don't know." in his usual flat tone. "in a few weeks maybe." he said between bites.
"few weeks?" the blond paused completely from his eating to lift his eyes to the red head. " you have a death wish don't you?"
His eyes took on that confused look as he scanned for the meaning of his words "what do you mean?"
"look Gaara" he finished what he had in his mouth before starting again. "Girls are funny, especially when it comes to this stuff. almost guaranteed you will not have a say in anything in regards to your wedding." he kind of chucked at the uneasy look that swept over his friends face.
"I really don't care." he stated.
"she will probably freak out and cry at times for like, no reason. I've seen it before and it's not pretty."
"..." he grunted shyly
"and you are giving her a few weeks to plan everything you will most likely die a horrible death, or get drove completely insane..... again...." he closed his eyes and stuck his nose in the air as if to say he was giving Gaara the best possible advice.
"she can do what she wants" his gaze fell once again from his friend to his plate.
"alright man, good luck with that."
"she will be fine" he stuffed another piece of his omelette into his mouth so that hopefully he wouldn't have to talk to Naruto about his wedding anymore.

"Thanks guys" Maya blew the steam from her small white tea cup as her hand her friends sat at the local tea shop to take a break from their day wondering around the village. the girls decided to treat themselves to a cup of warm tea as the gossiped about the latest news of Maya and Gaara, the benefit and his birthday. "I needed to get off my feet, I've been going since early this morning." she huffed.
The afternoon sun was now high in the sky, the scorching heat beat down on the open of the desert, there seemed to be no escape in sight from the hot rays. the occasional warm breeze would sweep though the small tea shop over the girls sitting at the round table. they were spending the day in town since Sunday was a free day, and would head back with the Hokage that evening. Gaara was stuck in the central building in his office working out figures from the concert that was donated to them and making the lists of missions for the ninja for the week.
Temari sat next to the brunette with her hand grasping hers, admiring the ring around her finger. her blue eyes scanned over it many times praising her own handy work at helping her younger brother picking it out that day he asked for her assistance.
"you know" Hinata spoke in a usual quiet shy voice, the table seem to lift their eyes to the blushing girl to listen hard focusing in on what she was saying. they normally had to strain their ears to hear the poor girl speak. "Naruto was telling me, he said Gaara wanted to do the ceremony within a few weeks." her pointer fingers tapped one another in nervousness. she didn't speak much in the group which made it hard for her to even start a conversation on her own.
Maya uncrossed her legs and stiffened her posture to lean closer to the black haired girl. "what?" a surprised tone filled the room.
Temari lifted her eyes from her friends finger only to give a confused look at Hinata.
"yeah, I think he told Naruto..." trailing her voice that maybe she shouldn't have said anything.
"He moves fast Maya" Ino giggled at the poor shocked girls facial expression.
"ha....ha...." she slowly gave a gentle scared laugh. "he expects me to plan a wedding in a few weeks?" she glanced her blue and green eyes to his sister. "oh, he has a death wish"
"yeah, well you know I am here to help you." Temari smiled lowering her eyes back to her friends hand twisting the ring between her fingers to see how it would look at different angles.
"Thanks Temari, and everyone." she turned her attention to Hinata "thank you for telling me, it's a good thing or else I would be waiting forever for him to tell me" she laughed in her words. she blew over the top of the cup once more and took another sip smiling as she pulled her lips away from the edge.
