Grand Summoning Jutsu

His pale eyes scanned her stunned expression, searching for the answer to his silent question. the air was quiet now, all eyes watched. his hand still held hers in the open of his palm, her body in complete shock as she darted between the beautiful rock he place on her finger and his, now, nervous eyes. he began to loose confidence in his decision in doing this now, what if Temari was all wrong in the timing. He would be made a fool in front of everyone if she rejected him.

The uneasy feeling began to over take his actions, his head lowered his eyes to the floor in embarrassment closing them half shut, the dark circles around his eyes now covered any pigment from his iris as he stood listening hard through the silence.

"Gaara..." she breathed. "are you...." she stopped to lean in so that her nose was under his face, trying to guide his eyes back open and to lift his head.

He said nothing, as the flush look began to fill in his face. the embarrassment was hot and the twist in the pit of his stomach began to ache an unimaginable pain. she knew at the uncomfortable vibe he was giving off, that her suspicions were right on the nose.

in taking a long deep breath she she smiled wide and spoke loud enough to reach his ears "yes"

He opened his eyes fully and his shocked expression became frozen in the answer he was finally hearing.

"yes...." she smiled wrapping her fingers around his neck tie, draping her other arm around his neck and pulled him to hunch meeting her lips with his. His trance was only broken by the sounds of the many people watching erupting in cheer, it echoed though his ears as the feeling the heat raise to every pour of his skin.

"YES!!!!!!!!!!!" Temari jumped in a wide smile.

"what the hell just happened." Kankuro seemed a little confused over Gaara's sudden actions.

Naruto's eyes fell slowly to the brown haired boy. "he asked her, well.... kind of, to marry him" he snickered under his breath. he knew this would put a lot of pressure on himself in regards to his own love life.

"Screw off..." Kankuro seemed to not believe a word of it. "Gaara.... he..."

"I helped him pick out the ring, knakuro..." Temari raised her finger in the air closing her eyes in a lecture. "so yes it's true."

"EXCITING!" Sakura almost lost her balance trying to stretch her body over the rail to get a better look.

The kiss was finally broken as the many spectators seemed to be enjoying this part of the show more than the rest. he kept himself still slouched over with his eyes fixated on the small woman. she raised her chin at the crowed and gave a wide smile that nearly took over her entire face, making her eyes close uncontrollably.

She raised the mic to her lips once again, a slight quiver in her posture "hum, well...." her small voice echoed with a giggle. the tall redhead lifted his pale green eyes in full awareness.

"that's the end of the benefit! hope you enjoyed yourselves!" she finished, her fingers still weaved within his. she lowered the mic turning to the stunned Kazekage. "common, silly" she poked his nose and began her walk off the stage, him following behind still attached to her hand.

Gaara gave a small flick of his wrist extending his fingers with his free hand, in a shy wave to the cheering people as they exited the platform, Maya dragging him behind her as the disappear behind the wall. she swiftly turned to the tall boy with a wide smile that seemed couldn't be whipped off her face.

"that's why you were acting strange" she giggled.

"er' yes...." he started "I didn't mean to."

"shhhh!" she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled his tall upperhalf down towards her in an embrace. "you truly are amazing." she whispered, the hot breath of her words lingered and he shut his eyes to take it all in.

"MAYA!" Akira called to her from a short distance away, she let go of Gaara letting him stand to his full height once again and turned her attention to the dark haired drummer. "congratulations!" he laughed.

"THANKS!"

"common" the redhead whispered to her in a shy, quiet voice. "we should head out, everyone should be heading to the central building soon."

"your right"

Maya walked in the living room to find everyone gathered around the couch, of course the girls were in full force gossip. the boys sort of listening but into the video game that Kankuro was taking out anyone who crossed him. with the occasional "I can't believe.... Gaara" huff. The tall redhead found his place emerging, standing behind the small girl as they both came in view of the group.

"hey guys!" Maya spoke in a cheery voice, the one that was lost for the past day or so.

Temari nearly jumped out of her seat and threw her arms around her friend. "YEAH! congratulations!" she bounced up and down, only to have Sakura sprint over and do the same, followed by Ino and Tenten. Maya couldn't help herself but giggle the entire time as Gaara made his way from the mass of girls hugging his fiance.

"Gaara..." Kankuro called to him from his seat on the couch. "I can still kick your ass in this, lover boy"

"yeah" he followed jumping over the back of the couch landing between his cocky brother and Neji. "lets see about that. "he swiped the controller from the floor in front of him to intervene in his brothers current match.

"ohh lets see it." Ino took Maya's hand in her and examined the ring. it was a good chance for Maya herself to take a good look at it, since it was quiet dark on stage and her attention was mostly on the frightened redhead.

the Diamond was set in a band weaved with white gold on one side, and yellow on the other. resembling a sort of wave from the ocean, the two pieces seemed to suspend the stone in it's place. it sparkled brightly as the angles from the lights hit it at different times setting off a beautiful rainbow shimmer. a small image of a butterfly was engraved into the yellow gold close to the shiny rock itself.

"that's beautiful." Maya whispered. "did he pick that out himself?"

"mostly" Temari spoke up "he just needed someone to hold his hand." she giggled.

"no I didn't" Gaara's stunned tone was now engulfed in trying to defeat his gloating brother once and for all.

"yeah right" Temari narrowed her eyes at the young Kazekage, only seeing the back of his red hair.

"ha ha! you suck lover boy. you can't beat me." Kankuro bellowed in laughter at Gaara's character KO on the area floor.

"hold on a sec guys" Maya lowered her voice to the girls. "Kankie" she raised it once more. "I'll tell you what, if I can beat you in that game...." she paused "promise to stop calling Gaara 'Lover boy'" her eyes narrowed as the young man stared back in her direction with a small smile.

"yeah right Maya, you can't beat me."

"lets do it then." she walked from her friends only to find herself leaning her arms over the back couch between the redhead and his brother. she reached for the black controller Gaara held in his hands and ran her thumb over the start button. Gaara staring up at her with a smirk, she was going to loose but was going to try anyway. Kankuro was a pain in the butt, but he knew this game inside and out.

the cursor flicked though the many different characters listed, showing a larger version of the fighter as their square lit up. Kankuro of course picked his best guy, Bryan Fury, the scary looking man with a giant scare across his face wearing snakeskin pants.

"oh Kankie, his outfit is sexy" her eyes fell in his direction. his attention was on who Maya was going to pick so he knew who he was going to end up defeating. she lowered her head close to Gaara ear and whispered "watch, this is the Wing Chung I was telling you about." she flicked the cursor over to the one fighter the boys seemed to avoid at all costs, Ling Xiaoyu. A cute young foreign looking girl, in her cute pink outfit made it hard for the young men to pick her on looks alone. Even so, Gaara wanted to see this martial art Maya had spoken of once before.

"Round 1" the announcer in the game started the match off "FIGHT" only to have Ling bolt forward on the balls of her feet, almost prancing, her hands open for flat handed strikes. Grabbing Bryan before he hand a chance to throw the first punch, Ling pulled his arm past her, snatching his wrist in her hand making his body almost topple over as she swung her leg in a round house from the other side. Bryan, of course, took a nose dive into the dirt. he lay there a few seconds, too long as Ling had already swung her body down couching low into a butterfly stance her arms extended.

"half your life gone Kankie, and you didn't even hit me yet." she giggled.

"grr"

he smashed the buttons for his fighter to get off the floor faster only to have the small girl flick her hands upward, and continued with short thrusted impacts to the face and throat, knocked his character into the air. it was over by then, once he was in the air Ling did not let him down destroying him with quick blows to the abdomen, until the announcer said "K.O." and the word written in big red letters across the screen "PERFECT"

Maya threw the controller down between the two boys "now knock off your gloating." she winked, Kankuro still staring at the screen not even seeing what had just happened. "oh, you just got your ass handed to you by a girl. ENJOY!"

the room immediately erupted in a fit of laughing as Kankuro finally got put in his place and was now completely speechless.

"wow, that was incredible" Gaara, finding it hard not to laugh at his stunned brother.

"anyway, it's been fun." kissing Gaara on the forehead and starting to make her way down the hall only to have the young woman follow. "I'm going to retreat to my room"

"I still can't believe it" her dreamy sigh seemed to be contagious throughout the room. she sat at her dressed pulling pins out of her hair, and unweaving the braids. occasionally she would stop and look at the beautiful ring he had given her "I can't believe he did that in front of so many people"

"He wanted to." Temari lied, but she knew her brother would have done it one way or the other, she just needed to give him a boost.

*knock knock* a quiet shy sounding rattle came from the other side of her door. Ino once again pushed her self from the bed, wearing her PJ's and swung it open. her eyes widened from shock expecting maybe to see Kankuro again but no, Kazekage was standing in his place.

"excuse me..." he peaked in around her to find all the girls in their PJ's staring up at him from their place. his pale green eyes fell on Maya taking her hair out one painful pin at a time, placing each piece on the dresser. he stepped in past the blond and made his way towards the small girl as her eyes fell to his reflection in the mirror. he walked past her to the bathroom next to her dresser. she keep her eye on him the whole time listening to try and figure what he was doing in here with all girls, he would never do that because he was too shy to draw so much attention to himself.

the sound of swooshing came from the open door of the bathroom. brushing his teeth from the small room seemed loud, in the now quiet room.

"he's brushing his teeth?" Hinata whispered.

Maya only sighed letting her shoulders fall slightly "I suppose so, it's his room too." her eyes fell to the pins piling up on her dresser and pulled out another. The small brown teddy sat near the corner of the shelf in front of her, the one he kept since his childhood, one black eye was beginning to fall from it's place giving it the old ratty look. she reached up and squeezed it's soft paw between her fingers.

"what?"

"you mean...." the questions seem to start in whispers.

"yes" Maya confirmed their suspicions.

Gaara emerged from the bathroom only to stop behind Maya, sitting with her legs crossed in her chair that seemed to high for her to sit in, her hand recoiling from the teddy. he placed both of his hands over each of her shoulders and leaned down to give her a small kiss.

"I'm going to be down the hall tonight, you guys can stay here" he whispered to her his face so close she could feel the warmth of his breath on her soft lips. "I don't think I will be able to sleep tonight." a smirk fell over his lips.

"ok, I'll see you tomorrow then." she lifted her head backwards more to kiss him back.

"you did great on stage by the way."

"so did you" she giggled.

"keep that outfit" he tried to whisper even more so than what he already.

with that he pulled himself away to find them all staring at him, his eyes feel straight ahead walking for the the door. stepping over the occasional legs and arms from them sitting everywhere in his room, closing the door as he left.

"so cute...." Sakura almost died from a long deep huff.

"romantic..." Hinata followed.

"he's still my little brother" Temari crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes in disgust.
