Sitting opposite an angry Uchiha would disturb most people but Kakashi simply smiled. The fact that he was being thoroughly ignored did nothing to affect his mood. Things like this rarely bothered him, besides; Sasuke was antisocial, cold and stubborn. He'd simply have to get the kid to… open up.

"Ne Sasuke, how come I didn't get an answer, it was a simple question."

Not looking the man in the eye Sasuke managed a low, "...I refuse to answer that question".

"I'll take that as a yes then".

"No!"

"Oi...?" Kakashi asked leaning forward conspiringly. "Then why are you blushing?"

Eyes lowered, he stuttered, "I...I am not! I...I'm sick that's all."

"Then this trip should have been postponed until you were well enough."

Sasuke remained quiet at this. Being picked last had annoyed him and damaged his pride, especially with the dobe bragging about how he had done so well. He would not allow a small fever to stop him, well, that was the plan. 'I can't believe I was beaten like that, by such weaklings', he growled in his mind.

Pulled out of his inner battle he realized Kakashi had just spoken to him.

"Hn?"

"Your more sick than I thought", Kakashi mumbled whipping off the forehead protector and placing his hand on Sasuke's forehead. "I guess I'll just have to take care of you until you're better”, he said in a cheerful tone.

Sasuke had been sorely tempted to bite the hand on his brow, he would have too if he were someone more obnoxious (like Naruto) just to stop the older ninja from touching him anymore; suddenly he acknowledged his sensei's announcement.

"I don't need the pity", he snapped, slapping the hand away. "I can take care of myself."

Sighing, Kakashi agreed, "I have no doubt that you can, but" he emphasized, "you have no choice."

"What do you mean?" Sasuke cautiously asked.

"I'll fail you" he simply said.

"You can't do that!" Sasuke had a mix of horror and anger on his face.

"I can and will", Kakashi smugly informed the stunned chuunin. “So you might as well cooperate and make this less difficult on yourself, ne?” Kakashi's visible eye curved up with a grin.

Dropping back onto the bed Sasuke had only one thing to say, "FUCK!"
