Hi. This is my first fan fiction and I just wanted to clear some stuff up. For all of the people that review, I personally will email you and answer the reviews. I refuse to reply to anyone that doesn't have the balls to use their pen name, or if you are just a visitor, get a fricking penname. Their free! I don't own Naruto, and without Wikipedia, I never would have gotten the names of the ninjutsu. I would also like to mention that the idea for the Setsozoku no jutsu is not my own idea. I got it from the story “All for One”, which can be found on my profile. Now enjoy before I take your spleen and give it to Venom.

Chapter 1: Kyuubi's Downfall

The earth around the village wall shook with movement. This was the least to be expected seeing as it was the Kyuubi no Kitsune, the strongest being in the material world, and as rumor had it, on the demon plane. The guards on duty stared out in disbelief as the greatest of the nine biju roared in anger, and seemingly, anguish. One of the chunin took up a flare gun and fired a flare into the air. Within minutes, shinobi from every rank except genin were lined up, preparing to do battle. Most of the jounin decided to unleash their most powerful jutsus, while others decided to go for the more direct route, unleashing streams of shuriken and kunai at the great demon. It did nothing to harm the beast, except enrage it some more.

With a swish of one of its mighty tales, fire was summoned, and it took the shape of a fox. Soon, all nine of its tales where swishing through the air, using its chakra for high powered techniques. One hit though really hurt, and that one came from a dog-faced ANBU. The lightning shot up his leg, temporarily paralyzing it. But the nin obviously forgot about the tails, and was soon sent flying.

The Nara's tried the Kagemane, as many of the Akimichi were forced to use the clan's secret weapon, the tri-color pill box. But it again did no more than force the Akamichi's to take the curry pill, inevitably leading to their death, and the Nara's to use up their chakra to hold the beast.

The battle continued in this manner for some time. Day turned into night. The fox seemed to show no signs of stopping, while the ninja that hadn't been killed had to retreat to the village walls. Finally there were only the elite left, the ANBU, and they were still not able to put a scratch on him. They needhim.

In his arms lay a moving bundle of blankets, containing a baby boy. As he looked over to the destruction that the Kyuubi no Kitsune had caused and the many shinobi of the leaf that he had killed, he felt remorse. Why had the greatest of the biju come and reap all this damage? But this was not the only thing he feared. He was preparing to save his village by performing the Shisho Fuin on the chld in his arms. This was an S-rank forbidden fuin, seeing as all users would die. This boy was going be the lone saviour of this village, a hero, just like himself. Arashi knew that the child in his arms would be hunted by the Kumo and Iwa villages, just because of one reason that he couldn't stop.

“Kakashi.” A blur of movement as the dog-faced ANBU materialized behind their great leader. “I want the order for all shinobi to retreat to the village. It's time to see how this great being will face against me.”

Biting down on his thumb, enough to draw blood, he wiped the blood on his other hand, preparing seals as he went.

“Kuchiyose no Jutsu,” he shouted out as smoke covered him and the boy. A giant toad wearing a jacket and smoking a pipe appeared.

“Oi, gaki, why did you summon me?” the giant toad roared at the Yondaime.

“For one last battle my friend. The Kyuubi has attacked the village, and is becoming too much of a liability. If there is any more damage, I fear that the leaf will not be able to stop this monstrosity. I plan to use the Shisho Fuin to seal the demon in to this child,” the forth told Gama Bunta.

“You do realize what this means, don't you? Your soul will be devoured by the Shinigami, and you will die.”

“The Hokage is to protect his village, even if it means to give up your life to save it. Get me close enough to the Kyuubi for me to seal it.”

Gama Bunta leaped as high as he can, drawing a sword, and did a quick flip in the air, aiming at the fox's head. The Kyuubi dodged the sword, and hit the toad with a tail. Bunta went flying past the fox demon. Getting up and turning, Gama Bunta shouted out “Suiton: TeppÃ¿dama!” while the Yondaime prepared the seals for the Shisho Fuin. As the water bullet reached the KyË‡ubi, Arashi finished the jutsu. A bolt of lightning leaped from the sky, causing all of the ANBU on the field to be temporarily blinded. As the light faded away, an even more terrible sight than the Kyubi had appeared, the Shingami, the god of death. The shinigami looked around the battle field, eyes finally settling on Arashi. The shinigami knew who had summoned him, and he was prepared to agree to the terms of the deal. He would allow this pathetic mortal to use his seal, in exchange for his soul. He flew at the Yondaime Hokage, his essense seeping into the forths chakra system, causing his body to emit a purple aura, and four balls of fire on his hand.

Arashi, nowing he had no time to lose before the jutu rendered him immobile, threw a three pronged kunai with a tag wrapped around the handle, and before it hit the great bijuu, he performed one of his sole jutsu, the Hirashin no jutsu. He appeared in a flash of yellow light in front of the strongest of the biju, and swiped his hand at the demon.

The demon roared. Of all the annoyances that he had faced that day, this one took the deer carcus. A piece of his essence was wrapped around this humans hands. All of his will to do as much bodily harm to this one man who had dared to sacifice his life to stop his rage had left his body, and he was forced to watch as the human finish the seal by touching his fingers to the kit's chest, causing both the demon and the baby boy to scream out in pain. Theworld started to fade as he was forced into the little child. The last thing he saw was the grim accnowledgement on th man's face as he watched the seal do what it was ntended to do. It saw a cage appear, with a tag containing the words “SEAL” appear on the cage. It slammed at the iron bars, in hope of breaking free, but to no avail. The shinigami's seal held.

In the true world, the fourth started to perofrm the seals for the Hakke no Fuin Shiki , to bleed the Kyuubi's chakra into the child. As the seal formed around the spiral seal of the Shisho Fuin, and the baby wailed out in more pain, a pair of fox ears appeared on the baby's head, and he grew a lone fox tail. Arashi stared at the child as the effects of summoning the shinigami started to take effect. Gama Bunta dispersed in a puff of smoke, with a final “Good bye, Gaki.” Pain racked his entire body. A lone ANBU wearing a dog mask came to the side of the Hokage. Taking off his mask, it revealed a shock of silver hair and a closed left eye with a scar running vertically on his face.

Arashi grinned as another spasm of pain racked his body. “You're late again Kakashi. What did I tell you about taking off your mask while on duty?”

Kakashi choked back tears. Here was the last reminder he had of his genin team dieing before him. With Obito dead and Rin missing, he had nothing left of them. He said sadly, “This eye wasn't the only thing I got from Obito.”

“Kakashi, take this child to Sarutobi, and tell him what happened. give him this.” Arashi pulled a scroll from his cloak and handed it to his former student. Kakashi nodded, picked up the scroll, and went for the baby, but Arashi put up a finger. “One moment Kakashi.” He then hugged the wailing child to his chest, murmuring “Good bye, my son.”His head dropped as the shinigami finished devouring his soul. The purble haze around his body vanished, showing the jutsu had ended with the shinigami back in his domain, enjoying the taste that he hadn't had in awhile, a hero. A lone tear dropped from Kakashi's eye as he picked up the child from his sensei's dead arms, and teleported back to Konoha.

Two people were in the Hokage's office as Kakashi entered. The Sandaime was sitting behind the desk, feeling Arashi's charka aura disappear, and had retaken the mantle of Hokage. The other was the head of Konoha's strongest clan, Hyuuga Hiashi. Sarutobi sighed as he said, “I'm guessing he was victorious in his battle against the Kyuubi.”

“Yes, he was,” the copy nin replied, as he placed the baby in to the arms of the Sandaime. The Hokage looked into the blue eyes of the child, the same blue eyes of Arashi, and saw the markings of a hanyou on him, the fox ears and the tail. “Sensei also wanted me to give this to you,” handing the scroll to the Sandaime. As the third reached for the scroll, Hiashi stood and took the child from him.

Sarutobi,

I am forced to sacrifice my life for this village by

summoning the Shinigami to seal the Kyuubi into

my son, Naruto. I want him to be seen as a hero, not the

monster that is sealed into him. Be that as it may

I don't want the village to see know, except for the clan heads.

If you see Jiraya, tell him to not do anything perverted around Tsunade,

he knows what will happen. Inform Hiashi on what has happened.

He deserves to know. In the next life, we will al have to drink sake together.

Uzumaki Arashi

“Hiashi-sama, you were on his team, were you not?” Sarutobi asked as Hiashi read the letter.

“Yes Hokage-sama. The other member of our team unfortunately died in the attack,” Hiashi said. Hiashi thought for awhile, as he continued to hold Naruto while the Hokage began to do the paperwork that had miraculously appeared on the desk

“Hokage-sama, as the head of the Hyuuga clan, and as a remberance to my former teammate, I would like permission to adopt Naruto into the Hyuuga and perform the Setsozoku no jutsu. Hana is a few months away from giving birth to our first child, and we would like to give her a playmate.”

Sarutobi thought it over. He knew what it would mean for Naruto to be in the Hyuuga, but he also knew of the dreaded consequences“He will be in the main house, yes?”

“Of course. He will be our son. You know very well that I have been trying to bridge the gap between the main and branch houses.”

“Very well. But first, I will like to place a seal oh him to hide his hanyou features. For the time being, I would like to hide his true form. People in this village will tend to see him as only a demon, and I would like for him to be able to protect himself when it comes to light.” He stood up, formed some seals, and quickly did the jutsu. An arrow appeared through the sole spiral, and Naruto's ears and tail slowly shrank back into his head

“This seal will cut off all flow of the Kyuubi's chakra. Hiashi, just for yur knowledge, this seal is not permanent. It will break if this child is in severe danger. His emotions will also play out in this seal. If he feels any type of anger, be prepared, because it is poosibl that the seal will break.

“Thank you for the information. Hokage-sama. I will need a room to prepare the necessary seals.” After about an hour of drawing the required seals with a cut finger, Hiashi was ready to perform the Setsozoku no jutsu. Hiashi performed the required hand seals, and performed the adoption ritual. Naruto's eyes paled to a lighter shade of blue with the iris still showing. He now had the Kekkai Genkai, the Byakugan. Sarutobi gave Hiashi some papers to sign, making the adoption perfectly legal, and presented Hyuuga Uzumaki Naruto.

Hiashi arrived back to the Hyuuga compound late that night. He greeted the guards standing on duty that night. The branch members nodded, and allowed him to enter. After he entered his main living quarters, he saw Hana sitting on the couch, with a cup of tea, waiting for him. After he entered, she went to get up, but Hiashi mentioned for her to sit back down. He went over to her and placed Naruto in her arms. He took off his robe and sat down next to her.

“And who is this,” Hana asked, kissing her husband on the cheek.

“This is our new son, Naruto.”

“He's so adorable. Our little girl will love playing with him.”

“So it is a girl than. Then I guess that we might already have the perfect marriage for her.”

“I believe that we may already have an arranged marriage. Anyhow, this little guy is tuckered out. Let me go put him to bed and than that's where I'm headed. You better go too. The council is going to want to know about this tomorrow.” Hana stood up with Naruto and took him to the room that was to be her child's. She put him down in the crib, and kissed him on the forehead. “Good night, Naruto-chan. We will always protect you.”

The morning after the Kyuubi's attack, the villagers were about, attempting to repair the damage to the wall and to personal property. But there are some things that couldn't be repaired. It was a time for mourning. Not only for family members, but at the loss of their leader, Arashi. And at the Hokage's tower, the Sandaime was hurting. He was tired, after spending the night filling out paperwork amounted. In Konoha's time of need, they needed to seem strong so that another shinobi village would attack.

Sarutobi also had to schedule a meeting with the clan heads. They would have to be informed of the happenings of the previous night. Summoning messenger hawks, he tied a message scroll giving the time the meeting would be that morning.

And I haven't even had, a cup of coffee yet, he thought grimly, as he pulled together his agenda for the morning's meeting

Hiashi woke that morning to the sound of Naruto crying. He heard the sound of Hana going into his son's room, as she tried to comfort the infant. Hiashi got up, and went into the dining area, and began to make breakfast.

After about 5 minutes, he placed some eggs and bacon onto the table. After Hana came in with Naruto, and placed him in a high chair that had been planned for their daughter, gave him a bottle, and sat down, and they began to eat. Just as they finished, a knock came at the door. Standing up, Hiashi walked to the door and answered it.

“Hizashi, come in, come in,” Hiashi said to his twin brother. As his brother walked in, he handed Hiashi a scroll.

“Hokage's issuing a summon to all clan heads, Hiashi-sama,” Hizashi said respectfully, until the door was shut.

“Yes, I thought that this would be coming soon. Hizashi, if you would like to get a cup of coffee, I would like to prepare for the meeting.” Hiashi left his brother and went to the bathroom for a quick morning shower.

Hizashi went to the kitchen bowing respectively to Hana, and then with a double take, he saw Naruto.

“Hana, who is this?”

“That, Hizashi, is your nephew, Naruto. Hiashi adopted him last night, as a favor to a dead friend.”

Hizashi picked up Naruto, and held him gently in his arms. He looked into the boys pale blue eyes, and saw traces of the Byakugan in them.

“I take it Hiashi performed the adoption ritual as well.”

“Yes. He did it last night, and didn't return until early this morning. May I offer you a cup of coffee?”

“Yes, thank you Hana.”

Hiashi entered the room, dressed in his ceremonial robes that marked him as the clan head.

“Hana, I don't know what time I will be back.” Hiashi quickly kissed his wife good bye, and exited for the tower.

“Fellow members of Konoha,” the Sandaime said to gathering of the clan heads. “A great calamity has come upon out village. And unfortunately, that calamity has ended. The Kyuubi no Kitsune has taken the life of half the jounin, a third of the ANBU, and 20 chunin. I also regret that the Yondaime gave his life to stop the monster.” There was a shocked silence. “As much as I would like to tell you that the biju was destroyed, that would be a lie.” Cries of outrage could be heard from the clan heads.

“Than where is the monster,” one of the clan heads cried out.

“Yondaime sacrificed himself to seal the child into the bellybutton of a new born child.”

“Well where is he, so that we can make sure that the demon will not return?” the clan heads called out.

“Because anyone that dared to attack the child, will be asking for a direct attack from the Hyuuga clan,” Hiashi said quietly, a small amount of his killer intent filling the room. “I adopted the child last night. This child is also the only son of Uzumaki Arashi.” That was enough to silence the room of all conversation. The Yondaime had sealed the Kyuubi no Kitsune in his own flesh and blood.

“When the Yondaime sealed the fox into Naruto, his son, the process turned him into a hanyou. As long as he is in no mortal peril, the seal will hold. If a rush of fear, anger, or hate was to swell inside him, the seal will undeniably break, revealing his demon side. For the time being, he has no contact with the fox,” Sarutobi informed the clan heads. “From this day forth, if anyone mentions what I have just told you outside of the room, they will be punished by death. Hiashi will tell Naruto when the time is right. Now, onto other business of repairs…”

Around 5 in the afternoon, Hiashi returned home, only to be greeted by the Hyuuga council.

“Hiashi, the guards that were on duty last night saw you return with a child. Why have you not told us of this adoption?” the oldest (and supposedly wisest) asked him.

“Because Homora-sama, the hour of my arrival was indeed late, and I wanted to spend time with my wife. And this morning, I had an emergency meeting with the other clan heads and the Hokage on the future of Konoha.”

“Then you would have no regrets of us putting this child into the branch house?”

“Yes I would,” Hiashi said angrily, his eyes flaring. “I have adopted this child into the main branch. I would no sooner put him into the branch house than any of you would sooner put the Caged Bird seal on the foreheads of your own sons. If any of you want to challenge my right on this matter, come and challenge me.”

None of the council members spoke a single word. They were all either too weak or to old to challenge him, but they were just plain scared.

“As you wish, Hiashi-domo,” Homora said as they left him standing alone in the complex.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. December 26th brought joy to Hana and Hiashi, as she gave birth to a baby girl, whom they named Hinata. She was to be the heir to the clan.

As Hizashi stood guard over his new charges, he was worried what the upcoming years were going to be like. His one year old son, Neji, would receive the caged bird seal shortly after Hinata-sama's third birthday. But who knew what would happen between now and then. Hiashi had been trying to end the distance between the houses, trying to end the caged bird seal. Maybe that dream would become a reality.

For everyone that had originally read my story, I revised it. I tend to do that. It's pretty much the same story, just merged together with the second chapter, and some stuff added and perfection of grammar.
