Red? Kari, what do you mean? Sasuke questioned silently, but he found no answer. He clenched his fists as he sat back down.

As if feeling Sasuke's anger, Kari stirred and opened her eyes. "Sasuke…"

Sasuke's eyes darted back to her as she went back to her side. "Kari, you're awake." He smiled in relief.

Sakura saw all this, she felt happy that Sasuke finally expressed himself fully, but still it the fact that he is smiling for Kari and not for her hurt her.

Naruto, sensing Sakura's sadness walked up to her, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Sakura-chan? Are you ok? You seem off lately…" he smiled.

Sakura just nodded. "Um Naruto?"

"Yes?"

"Thanks…"

"Sasuke…" Kari's voice sounded across the room. The three then looked at her, listening intently on what she is to say. "His eyes… his eyes are…" Kari flinched, obviously she's trying to describe her attacker.

Sasuke, thinking it was Gaara, finished it for her. "…as cold as jade?"

Kari gripped her blankets but didn't answer.

Sasuke then looked at her "Don't worry Kari… I'll make him pay for what he has done to you."

Kari stared at him and slowly shook her head. "no…"

Sasuke looked back, questioning "what?!" in rage, his eyes activated the sharingan.

Kari's eyes widened in fear… "his eyes, his eyes are red as blood… like your sharingan Sasuke…"

Kari's previous statement placed the three in shock. Sasuke was the one who first recovered, but still… no, it cant be. He is the only Uchiha alive, he had killed Itachi. Who else would have the same pair of eyes like his? He stared at Kari, deactivating the sharingan. "Are you sure? How can you be sure it is the sharingan?"

"Sasuke believe me… he even whispered his name…" Kari whispered back, gripping Sasuke's hand.

Naruto and Sakura stood at both sides of Sasuke. Dreading the next words of the fragile girl lying in front of them. Their gaze switched from Sasuke to Kari, afraid of an unexpected outburst from the raven-haired boy in front of them.

Sasuke's eyes disappeared behind the shadow of his hair, he whispered in anger… and fear. "What is his name…"

"He said he was… Uchiha Itachi."

That's it, Sasuke can't take it any longer. "How can that be?! I killed him!"

"Sasuke…" but Kari never had the chance to finish her sentence for Sasuke had already left the room, leaving them in silence. Kari stared at the door as unknown tears made their way down her cheek.

Sakura went to her side and sat, hugging her for comfort.

"Sakura-chan… im afraid for Sasuke…"

"Kari, Itachi is his brother, the one who killed his clan… the one who he had sworn to kill."

Kari's eyes widened in guilt, She had just let the man who murdered the Uchiha clan fuck her, rape her, use her… god she felt so dirty. She felt nothing but shame. He let that man take away all the innocence she had, and the worst… she felt that she had just betrayed Sasuke and all the ones around her.

"We all know you didn't want all of this to happen… but Kari-chan, we can't stop Sasuke now. The Uchiha are known to be determined. They won't stop until they got what they want, and if it so happened that your name is one in their list… they won't stop until they kill or have you. It so happens that Sasuke is just like that. Right now, all you can do is rest." Sakura finished.

Naruto had been thinking all this time. "Sakura-chan, we were there when he "killed" his brother. How is it that he is alive?"

Gaara, who had just arrived, heard Naruto's earlier statement. He, being someone who wants all information on the Uchiha, only knows the answer, but he kept it to himself. He was there when Sasuke "defeated" Itachi. Sasuke then was so into the fact that he needs to take his revenge and kill him. He had not seen what Itachi did. Gaara had been there and had seen it all. "Sasuke… your carelessness had been the cause of all this mess. You can't take care of her enough to save and protect her. You have me on your shadow…" (A/N: If you guys don't know what that means… well, its just like "Im hunting you down" or simply "I'll kill you" ok? On with the fic)

He then went back to the forest once more.

Sasuke had just ran out of the hospital and into the forest. (No, not to the village, the last thing he wants is to come across the Yamanaka flower shop. ^_^; on with the fic) He doesn't know why but his feet lead him there. Out of frustration, he clenched his fist and punched the nearest tree standing to him. "Damn Itachi! How many times do I have to kill you?! You have wrecked my life once and you still wont stop!"

"Don't you know what is the cause of all this Sasuke?" a mocking voice came in. A voice that Sasuke vowed never to forget… never.
