Bland Follicle Curiosity
Yuki placed the water jug into the stream and filled it full. Umi was across from her and had just caught some fish in a net.
“Hey, Umi?”
“Yeah?”
“Do you ever wish you had your old life back?”
“Yeah, sometimes. Why?”
“So you miss what mostly?”
“Mostly…hmmm.” Umi thought for a few moments.
“Mostly, I miss the life style, I guess, I've never really thought about it that much. Why are you asking me?”
Yuki took the jug out of the stream.
“Just, curious, I don't remember so I was thinking if I found something worth missing, I would remember, something at least.”
Umi jumped to Yuki's side of the stream and began counting the fish in the net. While Umi was counting out loud Yuki was quiet.
“Yuki, why don't you ask Kara, she was the last to join us?”
“But, her only parent is in a coma.”
“I know silly, but she did have an older sister, I suppose she was like a mother to Kara.”
Yuki smiled, “Thanks Umi.”
“Good now let's hurry up back to camp, I'm hungry.”
Yuki laughed, “We'll have a fishful feast tonight.”
She looked at the net one fish was still trying to break out.
Yuki and Umi continued to talk, constantly, as they made their way back.
Kara looked to Ginsora she had told her Kai needed to speak to Kakashi alone. Ginsora had distracted Naruto with some instant ramen she had with her. Sasuke and Kyomi were both staring into the sky, not really in this world. Kara's job was to distract Sakura. She took a deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep breath and put on a smile as best she could.
“Oh, Sakura?”
“Yeah?”
“I wanted to ask you…” Kara had to think for a minute. She blurted out what came to her mind.
“How'd you get your hair such a lovely shade of pink?”
Kara smiled big.
Thoughts:
Oh, what am I doing? This is crazy.
Out of thoughts:
Sakura started talking. Kara smiled and nodded.
Sakura started talking. Kara smiled and nodded.
Back in thoughts:
This is boring; I'd rather watch paint dry. Somebody help me.
Out of thoughts:
Sakura finished talking so Kara spoke. Kara had to get out of there.
“Really, I never would've guessed.” Kara looked as Yuki and Umi were walking towards the camp.
“That jug Yuki's carrying looks heavy, I'm just gonna go help her…….BYE!”
Kara sped away towards Umi and Yuki.
Ginsora yelled to Yuki and Umi as they set their stuff down. She introduced them to Naruto and they started talking. Ginsora made sure nobody noticed her as she went to meet up with Kai and Kakashi.
No one didn't say anything at first.
Kakashi spoke first.
“Still running you two?”
“Yeah,” Ginsora answered.
“Planning to stop soon?”
Kai spoke: “No, not until it's safe.”
Ginsora spoke “You could stop Kai. No one's chasing you.”
Kai sighed “I've heard you say it before Ginsora, I'm not leaving and that's final. Besides they'd put me in some adoption agency.”
“Kakashi could take you.”
“Kakashi could take you.”
“No. He has a squad and is a high ranking ninja; he wouldn't have time for me.”
“Yes he would, and you're very self reliable, you'd be fine. More importantly, you'd be home. You were born in the hidden leaf village right?”
“Yeah, but if I said something and someone caught it and news got out you'd have more trouble than normal.”
Ginsora sighed, and heard Umi's voice in her head.
“You guys better get back here they're getting suspicious.”
“We have to get back they've noticed we're gone.”
The trio returned and no one asked anything. Everyone fell asleep but Ginsora's team got up early and she told Kai to use her Mind Wipe Jutsu. She erased Naruto's, Sakura's, and Sasuke's experience with them. She didn't bother with Kakashi, he already knew everything and he would never tell.
Umi was trying to persuade Kyomi to say something, again. While annoying her Umi listened to Kai's and Ginsora's mind conversation. They were discussing which village to go to. She never understood why Ginsora, Kai and she could talk through their minds, and the others couldn't. Umi got bored of trying to get Kyomi to say something so she went and talked to Kara. She started into a long stream of questions.
“Hey Kara can I ask you a few things?”
“Sure,” said Kara.
“What's your favorite color? What's your favorite number? Do you like animals? What village is your favorite that we've visited? Do you think we'll go to the Leaf village? What do you prefer sushi or ramen? Can you guess what my favorite color is?”
Umi had just loaded Kara down with questions.
“Um, in order purple, 10, yes, the cloud village, I don't know, sushi, and…blue?”
Umi started asking more, Kara couldn't take it.
“Oh, would you of guessed that…um…that that um, blade of grass is calling for me.”
“Oh, Okay!” Umi bounded off towards Yuki, skipping with joy.
*Somebody help me…… Did I just say a blade of grass was calling for me? Oh man, I'm running out of excuses.*
Kai was mentally talking with Ginsora when she stopped walking. Kai turned to look at her, she knew that stare. Kai activated her Sharingan and looked into Ginsora's vision.
It was over quickly.
“Well?” Kai asked as her and Ginsora came out of their trances.
“Ok, then we'll...”
