Illuminated Wings

A/N: I don't own Naruto, never will either. Or the songs, one's by Nightwish, and its title is Nemo. The other is The Exies-Tired of you. This a Sasuhina pairing story, because it's one of my favorite couples. The other song is `Fly with me, Tenshi' and it's by me so don't steal it mother players. Forgive me if I don't complete the story, I have a bad habit of starting projects and never finishing them, however, I will try my best to complete it, if people like it. *cough cough* So, if you like it, please review. I worked very hard on this story so if I make any mistakes, please KINDLY tell me. -_- Please no flames, they're really annoying. Ok, I think that is it, so on with the story.

Zori - Traditional Japanese sandals, usually made of straw, or sometimes lacquered wood - *think `Memoirs of a Geisha', and Sayuri's giant shoes that she wore in the play.*
(Also- just for shits and giggles, the nation of Waves is to Konoha's west side.)

-Sasuke's point of View-

As I tossed and turned on my bed, I found it impossible to sleep. Sighing, I got up and moved towards the door. `Damned goddess of Sleep, what did I ever do to you?' I thought tiredly slipping on my zori and opening the front door. `Naruto won't shut up about how good Hinata's ointment for wounds is; maybe she has some kind of sleep medication. It's worth a try.' As I walked down the road towards her family's compound, a dark cloud scared the face of the full moon, and it left the moon's full face a bloody red. Then I heard the faint sobbing...

-Third Person Point of View at the main branch compound an hour earlier -

Hinata sobbed as her sealed arms hung useless by her sides and her vengeful cousin Neji stood over her, disgust in his eyes. “You really are useless, Lady Hinata, you couldn't even protect your family.” He sneered down on her and she looked up at him balefully. “No, I'm not!” She shouted as she grasped a pair of katanas and jumped back from him. “I will never forgive you Neji! You've gone too far!!” She screamed, forming the seal for her bakuygen. “I won't let you get Hanabi!!!! - Art of the dark twin swords!!” Neji frowned. “So you've created anew jutsu, Lady Hinata. Very well, play your tricks, it won't matter.” “You'll regret your words big brother.” She whispered as she placed one sword's handle in her mouth and drove the other into the ground, she formed rapid seals. Neji wasn't impressed, till he saw the charka swell from her heart to surround and shield her. “This is your art? You ARE pathetic!!” He called up his own art of gentle fists and charged. However, suddenly he was charging towards nothing.

-Hinata's Point of View-

It was killing me to fight him, but when he held me by my hair and watch as my mother died, I snapped. My family was dead because of him, but I still couldn't really hate him, I just wanted my baby sister to stay with me. I never even wanted to use this art. It put a strain on my soul, because I saw and felt all when I used it. I pulled my sword from the ground as Neji came towards me and hid in the ground, blending in completely, charka and all as a shadow clone of me with my swords appeared behind him. I smirked as he wheeled to face it, and I created a circle of clones to surround him. “Am I still pathetic, big brother Neji?” I made the first clone say. “Must we keep fighting? I love you too much to kill you.” I made the clone cry for me. He must think that I am the clone by now. He laughed. “That doesn't matter, I'm here for vengeance, love means nothing now, but I still love you Lady Hinata. So don't stand in my way.” The clone cried even more and became very emotional. “Then how can you expect me to stand by while you kill my sister?!!” The clone screamed at him, crying. His face softened. “I can't stop now, Hinata-chan, Because of this I must leave the village, become a missing ninja. So there can never be love for me.” Suddenly we heard Hanabi scream, undoubtedly because she found our parents. He stood still then relaxed, closing off his evil eye jutsu. “Get up here, Hinata-chan. I must tell you good-bye before I leave, I can't stay here any longer.” Crying I resurfaced, and dropped my jutsu. “Neji...” I whispered, tears streaming from my silver eyes. He smiled and came up to me slowly and held me close, and then he kissed me. My eyes widened, and then everything started to darken because of the weakened gentle fist that he used on my back. The last thing I remembered was hearing Hanabi screaming my name and my lips whisper one last `no'.

- Hanabi's Point of View-

I watched Neji embrace my elder sister Hinata, and turn her tear stained face up towards his and kiss her, only to see her fall limp in his arms. “HINATA!!!” I screamed, true, I never really got to know her because of Father, but she was still my sister. Neji turned towards me, a smirk on his face. “Thank your gracious sister, Hanabi; she just saved your life in exchange for her freedom.” I cried as he run swiftly away from the compound, my sister slung over his shoulder. The bloody moon witnessed my tears and anger as I cried my laments to her in the death tainted night. Unknowing, that my cries would bring help for my elder sister.

- Sasuke's Point of View-

I ran down the road, through the main gate, and into the compound's courtyard. Hanabi was kneeling there, cradling a twin pair of katanas in her arms, sobbing and screaming. “Curse you!! Bring back Hinata!!!! I hate you, you bastard!!!” I walked up to her, I only knew her name because of the fact that Sakura was her friend now and I heard everything from Sakura. Not that I usually cared to, but for some reason, anything having to do with Hinata was very interesting to me. There was just something about her, her soft smile, and her kind eyes. I pulled myself away from such thoughts as Hanabi looked up at me. “He killed them, Uchiha-sama, but he didn't kill me because Hinata went with him.” I knelt down next to her. “Who did, Hanabi?” I asked, as my temper flared. “Neji-san, He kissed her and she collapsed. He said `Thank your gracious sister, Hanabi; she just saved your life in exchange for her freedom.' Then he took off with her over his shoulder. She doesn't even have her swords, Uchiha-sama.” She offered the swords to me. “Please help her, Uchiha-sama.” I took the swords that she had wrapped in their sheaths, and strapped to my belt loops. “Don't worry; I'll get your sister, Hanabi-san.” I said, smiling confidently down at her. “Which way did they go?” She pointed towards the western wall nearest to us. “He might be going to the land of waves; he would take Hinata to a place she likes, what better place than a place with lots of water?” She murmured, and I looked at her. I didn't know Hinata liked water, and I smiled. “Water suits your sister.” Was the last thing I said to Hanabi, as I took off after Hinata and Neji, leaving a very confused Hanabi in the courtyard.

-Neji's Point of View-

I ran through the forest of Konoha's west side, towards the nation of Waves. It would be a nice spot for awhile, and it might get Hinata to warm up to me. I smirked, true she might be my cousin, but that never stopped royals back in the day. `Almost there' I thought, as I began to leap across the tree tops. Soon I would be with my soft hearted Lady Hinata in the nation of Waves.

-Sasuke's Point of View-

`Damn bastard, touching my Hinata!! How dare he?! That incestuous little brat!!! Oh, I'll get him back!' I raged silently as I ran through the trees, then deciding it might speed me along, I hopped up to leap swiftly from tree to tree.
If he does anything to Hinata, I might have to kill him. As the sun rose to softly color the dark sky and banish the stars, I came to the first town in the nation of waves. It was a little back water town, but it had nice people I would learn later on. Soon I passed a pair of teenage girls in night party clothes, one was smoking a cigarette and both were laughing. I walked up to them and they turned to me. “Can we help you?” The one with the cigarette asked me with a coy smile. “As a matter of fact, maybe you can. Have either of you seen two ninjas pass through here? One's a boy a few years older than me with long black hair, the other's a girl with short black hair, and they both have silver eyes with no pupils. Both are from my village.” They looked at one another, and the one with the cigarette turned to her companion. “Sanayuki do you think he means that one boy that ran through here with that girl slung over his shoulder?” The girl frowned, then pulled out a pad of paper and pencil and began a quick vague, but very accurate sketch of Hinata slung over Neji's shoulder. She showed it to me quickly and her companion with the cigarette asked me, “is this them?” I nodded. “Yes, do you know where they went?” They looked at each other nervous, and the up-until now silent one, Sanayuki, spoke. “You don't want to mess with those people unless you can get through their little political ties, or be uber sneaky about it because they're holed up in an impossibly hard to get into formal club and hotel.” Then she smiled slyly. “I could get you in if you know how to play a guitar...” I was confused till she beckoned me to follow her. I smiled and did so; this Sanayuki was quite sneaky, like Naruto, perhaps with her plan I could Hinata away from her bastard of a cousin.

- Hinata's Point of View-

My back tingled as I awoke in my nice soft bed, the sun was warm on my face, and I realized that I was very content in this soft, warm sun lit place. Curling the coverlet closer to my body and nuzzling the pillow, I began to drift off again. Then I realized that I wasn't in my bed. I sat blot upright, I was alone in a guest room of sorts with a balcony, its doors wide open I could smell the ocean. Turning my attention to the end of my bed, I saw a kimono much like the one I wore when I was a child, lying there, folded with care. I stood up and went to find a bathroom so I could take a shower before I even dared to don that marvelous kimono. As soon as I had finished tying my obi, I walked out onto the balcony, just seeing the ocean with all its majesty and grace soothed my soul. Looking around, I found no one was remotely near me, so I shyly began to sing one of the songs I loved the most.

~ This is me, forever one of the lost ones,
One without her name,
Without an honest heart as compass.
This is me far forever
One without her name
These lines don't last forever
Find the missing life line
Oh how I wish for soothing rain
All I wish is to dream again,
My loving heart lost in the dark~

My voice grew stronger, and carried down to the street softly.
~ For hope I give my everything,
My flower with it between
The pages two and three
The one sin forever who gone with my seams
Walk the dark that sleeps with angels
Call the past for him,
Touch me with your love,
And revel to me my true name
Oh, how I wish for soothing rain,
All I wish is to dream again,
My loving heart lost in the dark
For hope I'd give my everything
Oh how I wish for soothing rain
Oh how I wish to dream again
Once and for all
And all for once
Nemo my name forever more--~
I abruptly stopped as Neji entered the room, then I grew bitter, “Oh, how I wish for soothing rain, oh how I wish to dream again.” I repeated softly as I turned around to face him. “Leave me, Neji, just being near you makes me bitter and sad.” My eyes began to water, and he frowned. “What do you want, Neji?” I asked sadly. “You, Lady Hinata.” I was shocked and slightly disgusted. “You cannot have my love, Neji, you never could.” He came up to me anyways with a confident smirk. “Oh, really?” He hissed as he grabbed me suddenly and forced his kiss upon me. I struggled and didn't let him deepen the kiss even though he bit my lip, he settled to lick my teeth; as soon as I could I pushed him away. “Besides,” I hissed. “My love belongs to someone else, so it never could belong to you.” He was furious for a moment then he held his sides while he laughed. “Do you mean that uke, Naruto?” He laughed, I might have blushed in the past, when I did like Naruto, but he was with Garra and Shikamaru now in their odd three-some relationship for a year or so by now. “No, but I better not ever hear you call him that ever again, Yaro.” His face was furious. “Tonight you will accompany me to a concert in the ball room, wearing the dress that I will have sent up for you.” I was sickened. “Neji, you know that the saying that goes `incest is the best' is very misguided, right?” That earned me a dirty look as he left and slammed the door behind him.
I went back to the balcony, leaning on the rail and looking out over the ocean, thinking of that incredibly intriguing Sasuke Uchiha and his soft and enchanting eyes. The soft quirk of his lips when he smiled, but I knew it could never be, with all those other girls so much worthier than me, all trying to win his affections, all failing. No, I could never win the heart of Sasuke Uchiha, but how I wish that maybe even someone like me could be worthy of such a love.
~Oh how I wish for soothing rain,
All I wish is to dream again,
My loving heart lost in the dark
For hope I'd give my everything
Oh how I wish for soothing rain
Oh how I wish to dream again
My loving heart
Lost in the dark.
Nemo my name forever more~

-Sasuke's Point of View-

As I walked back to a studio with Sanayuki and her companion, which I had learned was named Sonoyoko, so that they could teach me some very basic songs so that I could get into the hotel with them tonight because they were the guests of honor for the concert in the ballroom. I heard a lovely voice singing from a balcony.
~ Oh how I wish for soothing rain,
All I wish is to dream again,
My loving heart lost in the dark
For hope I'd give my everything
Oh how I wish for soothing rain
Oh how I wish to dream again
My loving heart
Lost in the dark.
Nemo my name forever more~
I looked up to see Hinata, majestic in a kimono, singing with her arms lifted towards the heavens, and tears running down her face. My heart beat faster as she turned her head towards me. She saw me and smiled shyly, “Nemo's darkened heart, Nemo let it go....” She ended softly. She was only a story up, so she knelt down and poked her head through the rails. “Sasuke.” She whispered, tears running swiftly down her face, her smile trembling, she reached for my hand. I took her hand and kissed it, reaching up to wipe her tears away, she looked shocked that I had kissed her hand and was blushing. “Sasuke, please help me.” She cried trembling. My face stiffened and my temper rose. “He didn't do anything to you, did he?” She cried. “He wants to Sasuke, he's already kissed me.” I took her soft face in my hands and softly wiped away her tears. Then I gripped the rails on either side of her face and lifted myself up to kiss her softly. “Don't worry Hinata; just be ready to sing on stage tonight, I'm going to get you out of here.” I said after our lips had parted, and I had to admit, she's a damn good kisser. “I love you, Sasuke, I really mean it.” I smirked and kissed her quickly on the end of her nose before letting go of the rails. “Till the evening, my mermaid.” I smirked even more when her whole face blushed for me, she was so beautiful, truly beautiful, unlike those girls that stalked me. I knew that I really loved her and that she really loved me. Sonoyoko and Sanayuki looked up at her and smiled waving. “Ohayo Neko-chan, we'll have you out of that cage later tonight, okay?” Sanayuki said sweetly, as if she were talking to her cat, and winked up at my mermaid, who smiled shyly back at them and mouthed an `arigatou'. “Come on, `Kokaku-san', we have to get to the studio to practice for the concert later tonight. We wouldn't want to be unprepared.” I glowered at her, she was so obvious about the way she hinted, but I would later come to find that everyone thought she was just weird, and paid her no mind at all, even though she was an unregistered ninja. Which I thought to be a stupid error on anyone's behalf. As we left, all I could think of was Hinata, and I watched her over my shoulder till she was out of sight. Yes, she was indeed my mermaid.

-Hinata's Point of View-

I watched my love leave, knowing that he would be back with his new friends to rescue me soon. I still couldn't believe it, I stood at the railing till he was nothing more than a blur upon the horizon, then I began to dance around my room. `Oh Sasuke, I love you so much' I thought, spinning in circles. I couldn't get our one kiss out of my mind; I was still shocked that he could even love me, and that I'm his mermaid. Then I began to prepare to practice for later, I knew that it would be hard to get up there and sing for all those people, in fact I almost lost control of my knees as I just thought about it. All those eyes, all of them were watching me. Then Sasuke's eye were looking at me and all the others faded away till Sasuke's were the only ones there, and even though they were more intense than any of the others, they stilled the center of my being and a gentle joy came over me. They told me to be prepared to sing so I picked a different song that I knew well enough to sing without help.
~Where did I go wrong?
I can't look you in the eye
Feeling so ashamed,
It feels like I could die,
Hold me up
And don't let go
I've had enough!
I tired of breathing,
Tired of feeling,
Tired of looking
At the past for meaning
Tired of running,
Tired of searching,
Tired of trying
But I'm not tired of you...
Losing everything,
Is something I can't face,
Hope is on the run,
It's something I can save,
Hold me up
And don't let go
I've had enough!
I tired of breathing,
Tired of feeling,
Tired of looking
At the past for meaning
Tired of running,
Tired of searching,
Tired of trying
But I'm not tired of you...
But I'm not tired of you...
But I'm not tired of you...
But I'm not tired of you...
I want to feel a change,
I don't mind if it hurts,
You take away the pain,
You're the only thing that's good,
Hold me up
And don't let go
I've had enough!
I tired of breathing,
Tired of feeling,
Tired of looking
At the past for meaning
Tired of running,
Tired of searching,
Tired of trying
But I'm-
But I'm not tired of you...
But I'm not tired of you...
But I'm not tired of you...
I'm not tired of you...
But I'm not tired of you... ~

-Neji's Point of View-

As I pressed my ear against Lady Hinata's room, I heard her singing, and I've never heard her sing before, which was a shame because it was a lovely sound. However, I was unimpressed with her song selection, because I knew she was singing for some love of hers but I also knew that it wasn't me. I glowered. She was mine, as she always was. What little dick thought he could take away something that was mine?! I was fuming as I opened the door, carrying a box that contained a soft blue kimono jacket, skirt, and dress shirt. All of it was white and light blue, sometimes there were hints of a soft gray and a pastel pink. She looked at me, and her joy was contagious. “It's so beautiful outside Neji-nee-san!!!” She said sweetly, smiling softly. My heart throbbed, and I wondered why couldn't she love me?!!! I just left, pulling a vial from my shirken holster. Inside it was a potion that would let me at least have one night of love with her before her heart was completely broken by my hand. Much like a flower to winter's hand, she was the flower fated to fall to my grasp, and the first frost was due this very evening.

-Sanayuki's Point of View-

Sasuke was a natural for our rock style and picked up so quickly, that Sonoyoko and I thought that he must be a musical prodigy. “Sana-san? How about this song?” Sonoyoko called over to me as I showed Sasuke how to slide two notes at the same time. I left Sasuke's side to read the page, my eyes widened and I nodded my approval, then I handed it to Sasuke. “Try to sing this, and we'll play the music for you. Okay?” He took it from me, studying it while picked up the bass guitar and Sonoyoko sat at the piano, and my heart throbbed in a melancholy joy, lifting it up higher towards the heavens.
~ My angel, dear Tenshi
Do you hear my cries for you?
Tears flow relentlessly,
I don't know what to do
So I stretch my wings,
Shattered as they may be!!~
Sanayuki slid a few harsh notes and my voice grew.
~I wish to fly with you!
Let me dance with you on the moon! ----~
He let his singing become a pained screaming as I drowned out Sonoyoko's soft and sweet piano with my desperate, weeping bass.
~Shadows caress the floor,
Your shadow's behind the door!
Just fly with me,
Tenshi---!
Can't you see I'd die for you!
Fly with me Tenshi,
These blooded tears are just for you!!!!!~
My bass became a soft lullaby once more as Sonoyoko's piano made me want to cry, combined with Sasuke's heartfelt singing.
~ Graves mark the past
Don't let us be like that
Desperate spells cast,
Memories left that,
Which you wish not to find
Falling deep into your mind
We hold on tight,
So our dreams won't lose this fight ~
Once more my bass cried out as the chorus came once more.
~Shadows caress the floor,
Your shadow's behind the door!
Just fly with me,
Tenshi---!
Can't you see I'd die for you!
Fly with me Tenshi,
These blooded tears are just for you!!!!!~

I smiled at Sonoyoko and signaled an end to the music. “What do you think Sonoyoko?” I asked eager. “Sasuke's the best singer I've ever heard apart from his `mermaid'.” Sasuke growled his annoyance, and I smiled, winking at Sonoyoko. “Ah, but we have to disguise Sasuke before we go. He can't use a jutsu; he would be spotted and taken out.” Sonoyoko nodded. “Yes, we need to fix that problem. Would you mind going and getting some stuff?” I nodded eagerly and dashed off to find something that would work.

-Sasuke's Point of View-

I felt slightly helpless as the forcefully dressed me up and redid my hair. They placed a military cadet hat on me and gave me a jacket before stepping back. I was wearing my black shirt still but I wore a black gothic waist coat with it too, now. My dark stone washed pants were just the right size and baggy around my legs. They had also given me a pair black and blue vans shoes. I looked totally different. “Sasuke, you have to hide your headband on you, because you can't come back here.” I looked at Sanayuki's sad face as she held out a pack for me. “You won't have time, Sonoyoko and I will be hard pressed as it is just giving you two enough time to get back to Konoha without any stops.” I looked at them, sad. “He's too strong for you, Sana and you too Sono.” Sanayuki winked at me. “As long as we work as a team, this will work out, don't worry Sasuke-san.” Then I realized that I couldn't leave without something very important, Hinata's twin katanas. I strapped them to the pack securely with Sanayuki's help, and then we headed over to the hotel.
`Don't worry Hinata, I'm coming, and you'll be safe back in Konoha with me and Hanabi.' I thought as we strode down the alley to our foe's nest.
