Prologue: Memories of the Sun

 

BakurasAngel - Hiya, it's been quite sometime since I've written anything, so I've decided to try my hand at a Naruto fanfic. The idea just popped into my head so I'm just going to roll with it. I think you'll like it. Warning you it does have some shounen-ai stuff and such in it, but nothing too major. It starts at actually at the more end of the story. . .I know it's a bit odd, but yeah. From the Prologue it will then tell the whole story that led too the Prologue, so I hope you enjoy it. Also I do now own any Naruto characters! If I did the series would be a helluva lot different! Now on with the story.

 

 

A dark clothed figure sits at a desk, writing in a journal as tears are seen running down their cheeks, dark hair falling into equally dark eyes as the figure stops writing to look over what they'd written:

 

It was raining that day 15 years ago now. . .the day. . .all we knew. . .all we'd ever known. . .it all came crashing down on us. . .and well. . .even now. . .15 whole years later. . .the wounds that day left. . .are still so painful. . .in everyone's heart and soul, that just to speak the words. . .starts the whole village weeping. . .and the sky. . .well it seems to cry. . .to mourn. . .to break. It's raining today as well. . .I think the sky remembers the date, because on each anniversary of that day it rains. . .and rains and just well. . .rains.

Your happy smiling face adorns the mountain now. . .all the little kids look up at it and say, " Look at the 6th! Wasn't he the greatest! Always happy and smiling!" I suppose you were pretty much always happy and smiling and just. . .well you. Kyuu and Kitsune are doing well for themselves. . .they've already both achieved Jounin rank. . .Kitsune took a bit longer. . .but I suppose that's to be expected. Sunako's an awesome Anbu; she's nearly as good as you. Though her loud mouth gets her in trouble at times.

Well, I guess there isn't much else to write, it's been quiet here, no wars or anything. . .it seems almost as if the whole world is mourning that day. . .and the lost. . .and the sun doesn't seem to shine as bright anymore. . .well that's all.

 

The figure sighs, closing the journal as they set it on a side table, eyes half lidded as they blink, hearing a knock at the door of their house. The figure slowly rises to their feet, walking too the front door and looking through the peephole before slowly opening the door.

 

" Hello Sasuke," murmurs Sakura Lee, smiling at the dark haired man before her who just sort of nods in response. " I just came by to give you these." Sakura smiles, the now 40-year-old kunoichi holding out a basket to Sasuke. Sasuke blinks, looking at the pink haired woman who smiles. " They're treats and such. Ayame and Momo sent them over for Toke, but I guess he's gone off somewhere?"

 

" Kyuu and him took off a while ago," murmurs Sasuke, taking the basket that is for his son. " I think they went to pay their respects. . ." Sakura nods, eyes half lidded as Sasuke sighs softly. " Have you seen Garu anywhere?" Sakura shakes her head as Sasuke sighs softly. " Ah, he's probably off with Kitsune or something. . ."

 

" It's a sad day. . .the kids need time to themselves to deal with it," murmurs Sakura as she sighs softly. " I can't believe it's been 15 years already. . ." Sasuke nods as he looks at Sakura as she smiles slightly. " 15 years and no one has heard anything from them. . ."

 

" I thought we settled this Sakura. . .they're dead," murmurs Sasuke softly, looking down at the ground as Sakura sighs. " There is just no other way to explain why two PERFECTLY healthy 25 year olds would just disappear. . .someone killed them. . ."

 

" And who might have been able to kill them?" asks Sakura as she sighs. " Never mind. . .I best get back home. . .nice seeing you Sasuke. . ." Sasuke just nods, disappearing back into his house as he notices red eyes watching him from the corner as he just smiles slightly.

 

" Nice to see you too Toke," murmurs Sasuke softly, looking toward his son who just nods in return, blond and black hair falling into his eyes. " So. . .where's your mother?"

 

" I think she's still at the memorial," murmurs Toke as he shrugs. " Uncle Kankuro's there too, but he's entertaining Mesu and Keme with the puppets right now. . ." Sasuke smiles, thinking of his twins. Mesu was his little blond trouble-making daughter and Keme his dark haired son was much like Toke calm and reserved. " Aunt Tenten's due any day now dad. . .and Karasu's so excited he keeps running around and clapping his hands and making a helluva lot of noise." Sasuke chuckles, nodding as he smiles. Konoha had most certainly grown-up and some of it's members had grown up faster then others.

 

" I'm back," murmurs Temari, the blond woman walking into the house, the twins in tow as Sasuke looks up, smiling at his wife. It had actually been the 6th who had helped to push them together with his meddling ways, though at the time he hadn't been the 6th as of yet. " It was crazy at the memorial. . .I swear the whole village was flocking about out there. . .it was hard to get through the crowds!"

 

" I can bet, that's why I'm waiting until rush hour is over," murmurs Sasuke. Temari just smiles, looking at her husband as Toke wanders off toward the kitchen to look for something to eat. " So where's the 7th? I thought he was supposed to be keeping the order this time around. . ."

 

" Well. . .according to what I heard. . .the 7th fell ill last night because he stayed out too late," murmurs Temari as she chuckles. Sasuke just shakes his head as Temari's eyes twinkle. " According to reports he was searching for the newest edition of his Icha Icha Paradise book. . .and well. . .he fell into someone's pool. . .and yeah. . .odd. . ." Sasuke just shakes his head, thinking of the Hokage. . .none other then Kakashi-sensei himself.

 

" I still can't believe they picked MY sensei to become the 7th Hokage," murmurs Sasuke softly to himself as Temari smiles.

 

" I wonder what the 6th would think," murmurs Temari as she just smiles. " Ah, he'd probably be happy to be free of the responsibility. . ." Sasuke laughs, nodding to himself as his thoughts turn to the 6th once more. " I know you prefer to think of them both as dead. . .but there is always a chance they are alive. . .somewhere. . ." Sasuke sighs, just falling silent as Temari just shrugs. " It's possible. . ."

 

" It is possible. . .but it really isn't sensible," murmurs Sasuke softly. " The 6th was too much of a devoted parent to just abandon his children. . ." Temari sighs, tilting her head in thought for a moment. " What?"

 

" I agree the 6th was VERY devoted. . .but perhaps he didn't abandon them on purpose," murmurs Temari softly. " Perhaps. . .he got into a fight and there were extenuating circumstances and he couldn't return. . ." Sasuke just sighs as Temari shrugs to herself.

" We're talking about the 6th. . .anything is possible. . ."

 

" Yeah, if it was ONLY the 6th I would have to agree," murmurs Sasuke as Temari blinks. " But you forget to count in the fact that. . ." Temari sighs, walking out of the room as Sasuke sighs, thoughts turning to the past as he smiles sadly, eyes getting lost in thoughts of the old days, blinking as he hears footsteps behind him, turning to meet a pair of blue-green eyes, with deep crimson hair streaked in random places with silver-blond falling into them. " Hello Garu. . ." The teen nods, eyes half lidded as Sasuke sighs softly. " What it is?"

 

" The Hokage wishes your presence," murmurs Garu. Sasuke nods, blinking as the teen makes hand signs before disappearing in a puff of smoke as Sasuke quickly grabs his vest and pulls it on before leaving the Uchiha estate and heading toward the Hokage's Tower. Sasuke sighs, walking into the tower and up toward where he knew the Hokage would be. Sasuke doesn't even bother with knocking, walking right into the room, noticing with annoyance that the Hokage was sitting and reading an Icha Icha Paradise book.

 

" Kakashi," murmurs Sasuke, gaining the white haired males' attention. Kakashi looks up, holding his orange book in his hand as Sasuke sighs. " Garu said you wanted me for something?"

 

" Yes," murmurs Kakashi, becoming serious as he sets the book too the side. " An interesting rumor was brought to my attention by none other then Kankuro. It seems there are rumors of a pair of super powerful shinobi living in a very small village that is known as Hanagakure. It is said that they showed up there about ten years ago. . .and have been protecting the village since. They are said to never age. . .looking to be about the age of 18. . .given. . .the 6th was 25 when he disappeared. . .but he always did appear younger. . .as did. . .his lover. . ." Sasuke nods as a smile graces Kakashi's lips. " The rumor also states that this pair of shinobi have a small family. . .consisting of a pair of twins. . .and an odd child with fox ears and a tail. . .and another that has a tail like a raccoon dogs and ears as well. . ."

 

" Interesting," murmurs Sasuke, nodding as his thoughts turn to the missing 6th Hokage and his lover. " Anything else?" Kakashi nods as he looks at Sasuke who tilts his head. "Care to share?"

 

" Well, just that the rumor states that the pair tends to go missing at random intervals of times. . .usually somewhere between 5-8 months and when they return. . .usually they have another child. Also the rumor mentions an older child with them. . .that was about 9 when they first appeared," murmurs Kakashi. Sasuke nods, his thoughts turning to the older child mentioned and turning to his missing son Mashi as Kakashi sighs softly. " I know. . .it could possibly be Mashi. . .and the rumor does say the oldest child is quite interesting looking, but that's all. Now remember this rumor does not confirm if the pair is one male and one female or two males or two females. . .just a pair. . ." Sasuke nods, sighing as he hears the curtains ruffle as someone comes in through a window, running up to Kakashi and whispering in his ear as Kakashi's eyes go wide, turning his attention to none other then Shikamaru Nara. "What! You. . .you're kidding!" Sasuke tilts his head, confusion on his face as Kakashi nods. " Yes, yes. . .send some scouts out. . .check it out. . ." Shikamaru nods, leaving as Kakashi turns his attention back to Sasuke. " An interesting development. . .I have just been informed that some Anbu from Suna claim to have spotted the 6th at an oasis just within Suna boarders last night. . ." Sasuke's eyes widen knowing the exact place as Kakashi smiles. " I want you to join the scout group. . ." Sasuke nods, leaving quickly as he goes to catch up with Shikamaru. " Could it actually be?" Kakashi sighs, looking out toward the statue of the 6th. " Are you alive?"

 

Sasuke runs quickly, catching up with Shikamaru and the scout group consisting of Kiba Inuzuka, Neji Hyuuga and Rock Lee. Sasuke nods toward his friends who all look nearly as shocked, as he truly is to hear the news. " So. . .Shikamaru. . .do you think the rumors true?" murmurs Sasuke. Shikamaru looks at Sasuke who blinks as a slight smile graces Shikamaru's face.

 

" I've run the figures. . .and done the calculations. . .there's a 9 in 10 chance that this time. . .it's true," murmurs Shikamaru, making Sasuke's eyes go wide as Shikamaru smirks. " There's an only 1 in 1000 chance that those two are anywhere near dead. . .and with all the evidence we've collected over the last 15 years. . .I say it's them." Sasuke smiles slightly, thoughts turning toward the 6th and the 6th family as Shikamaru smirks.

" If it's real. . .the 7th will have to step down. . ." Sasuke just chuckles as they run toward their destination all the time thinking of the past.

 

BakurasAngel: Okay that's the end of the prologue! I know none of you like cliffhangers. . .but here's a cliffhanger. The next chapter will go back to the past and tell what all lead to this first chapter. I hope you enjoyed this first chapter. Now I will give you a list of the children and SOME of the couples and some slight info on the kids.

 

Lee-Momo, Ayame, and Topaz

Parents: Sakura Haruno and Rock Lee

Ages: 14, 15, and 12

Gender: Female, Male, and Female

Ninja Level: Chunin, Jounin, and Genin

Side Notes: Topaz is the closest to her father in that she has no ninjutsu powers. Momo is very powerful when it comes to medicine like her mother and Ayame is an all around well rounded in physical and chakra powers.

 

Inuzuka- Okami and Taiyo

Parents: Hinata Hyuuga and Kiba Inuzuka

Ages: 12 and 18

Gender: Male and Female

Ninja Level: Genin and Jounin (Anbu)

Side Notes: Okami and Taiyo were born a far distance apart a whole 6 years. Taiyo is the oldest child born from the rookie 9, that's location is currently known of. She's a couple months older then the 6th's only known daughter Sunako. She was 3 at the time of the 6th Hokage's disappearance.

 

Nara- Hebi and Hana

Parents: Shikamaru Nara and Ino Yamanaka

Ages: 10 and 17

Gender: Male and Female

Ninja Level: Ninja Academy and Jounin (Anbu)

Side Notes: Hebi and Hana are another quite far apart set of kids. Hebi and Okami are best friends and so are Taiyo and Hana. Hana inherited her fathers' laziness but also his genius and Hebi is quite hardheaded and hot-tempered like his mother.

 

Uchiha- Toke, Mesu, Keme, Metami and Mashi

Parents: Sasuke Uchiha and Temari (Except for Mashi)

Age: 16, 8 (Mesu and Keme), 17(deceased) and 18(missing)

Gender: Male, Female, Male, Male and Male

Ninja Level: Jounin (Anbu) and Ninja Academy (both), none and none

Side Notes: Mashi Uchiha disappeared the same day that the 6th and his lover did. The child was only 4 at the time. Toke and the 6th's youngest son Garu were born about the same time and Toke has full Sharingan abilities. Mesu and Keme are a pair of twins that act and look nothing alike. Mesu acts like her mother and Keme acts like his father. Also Mashi is not Temari's child, more will be revealed about Mashi later on. Metami was Sasuke and Temari's first child together and died rather soon after birth or so they were told, more will be told about Metami later on as well.

 

6th Hokage (known)- Garu, Kyuu, Kitsune, and Sunako

Parents: 6th Hokage and his lover

Age: 16, 17(Kyuu and Kitsune), and 18

Gender: Male, Male, Male, and Female

Ninja Level: Jounin (Anbu), Jounin, Jounin, and Jounin (Anbu)

Side note: These are the only four children that the 6th is known to have. They are all Jounin level. . .the 6th Hokage's only known daughter Sunako became a Jounin at 14 years old. . .his son Garu became a Jounin at 12, but was actually an Anbu and private messenger for the 7th by age 9. Kyuu and Kitsune are both 17 years old. . .but they're not twins. . .Kyuu was born at 6 1/2 months. . .he barely survived. He was born in January and Kitsune arrived 5 months later in May. Later on it will be explained about them.

The 6th and his lover disappeared when Garu was only a couple of months old. Garu is the most reserved of the kids and usually is rather silent to say the very least thoug hhe does have his hyper moments.

 

Hyuuga- Byakku and Neji Jr.

Parents: Neji Hyuuga and Tenten

Age: 15(Both)

Gender: Male (both)

Ninja Level: Chunin (both)

Side Note: Neji and Tenten had a little fling, which resulted in the birth of the twins Byakku and Neji Jr. Shortly thereafter Tenten and Kankuro hooked up and got married, so the Hyuuga twins are half-siblings with Tenten and Kankuro's kids.

 

Tenten-Kankuro- Karasu and Hime

Parents: Tenten and Kankuro

Age: 13 and Unborn

Gender: Male and Female

Ninja Level Genin and none

Side Note: Karasu and Hime are half-siblings to the Hyuuga twins. Karasu is named after one of Kankuro's puppets. Karasu was actually gifted the Karasu puppet by his father, and he is VERY talented with it to say the least.

 

 

Akamichi- Papillion

Parents: Chouji Akamichi and ?

Age: 11

Gender: Female

Ninja Level: Ninja Academy

Side Note: Papillion is French for butterfly. Papillion is best friends with Hebi Nara and Shinigami Aburame. Because of Ino Yamanaka and Shikamaru Nara getting married the InoShikaChou technique has now technically become no more so Papillion, Hebi and Shinigami are working on the PaHeShi technique.

 

Aburame- Shinagami and Shiko

Parents: Shino Aburame and Hanabi Hyuuga

Age: 10 and 12

Gender: Male and Female

Ninja Level: Ninja Academy and Genin

Side Note: Shinagami and Shiko are two of the best in their given ninja levels. Though very withdrawn, both of the Aburame children are quite powerful.

 

Hatake/7th: Kuroi and Sashi

Parents: Kakashi Hatake (7th Hokage) and Anko Matarashi

Age: 21 and 10

Gender: Male and Female

Ninja Level: Jounin and Ninja Academy

Side Note: Kuroi the son of Kakashi Hatake and Anko Matarashi is just a couple years older then a lot of the children of Kakashi's students, but he's every bit as bad at keeping track of time as his father. Kakashi and Anko are not married any longer; they got divorced for reasons unspecified when Kuroi was 16. Anko and Kakashi are still on good terms and though Kakashi now being with Iruka is obviously a bit of a sore point for Anko, she was the one that broke off the marriage because she knew it would be better in the long run. Her and Iruka are actually on really, really good terms and will take the youngest kids out to places when Kakashi is off on missions.

 

Umino: Aoi and Miso

Parents: Iruka Umino and Kakashi Hatake

Age: 12 and 14

Gender: Female and Male

Ninja Level: Genin and Chunin

Side Note: Iruka Umino and Kakashi Hatake adopted Aoi and Ra. They are adopted siblings to Kakashi's birth son Kuroi who loves the two little ones like his real brother and sister. Kakashi daughter Sashi who is younger then the two love them like big siblings and plays with them almost more then her real brother Kuroi.
