Chapter 1: Becoming the 6th

 

BakurasAngel: Okay here's the REAL beginning of the story! I do not own Naruto so no suing me. Now then. . .warnings for this chapter: M-Preg, childbirth, shounen-ai/yaoi (mentioned), AU ness, OC ness and a few other things. Hopefully you all will like this fanfiction and enjoy it quite throughly.

 

The sound of loud noise could be heard from a room in the Hokage's Tower. Yet again another argument had broken out between none other then the 5th Hokage Tsunade and the Toad Sage Jiraiya, except this time the argument wasn't over who won the poker game. “ I'm telling you! It's time you did something!” exclaims Jiraiya, waving his hands in the air as Tsunade looks up at the white haired man while holding a sake glass. “ Aren't you the LEAST bit worried! He's set up to be the 6th and look what happens! I mean. . .yes. . .it was unexpected and we didn't think that holding the Kyuubi would make such. . .well THINGS happen. . .but still!!!”

 

“ Oh Jiraiya, shut-up. . .so the future 6th is going to have a kid. . .what's the big deal?” murmurs Tsunade, a faint blush on her face caused from the alcohol intake. Jiraiya rolls his eyes, looking at the woman in obvious annoyance.

 

“ If the future 6th was a WOMAN then it wouldn't be a big deal!” exclaims Jiraiya! “ But the future 6th is not only a MAN, but also the Kyuubi's container!” Tsunade just nods, continuing to drink her sake. “ And the father of the child is engaged to a Sunagakure shinobi and so is the 6th!” Tsunade just smiles as Jiraiya blinks in confusion. “ What?”

 

“ Yes, the future 6th is indeed engaged to a Sunagakure shinobi Jiraiya,” murmurs Tsunade. “ And not just any shinobi. . .the 6th is engaged to a MALE Suna shinobi, a certain Kazekage. . .” Jiraiya just nods as Tsunade sighs softly as she thinks. “ He knows already and is here, waiting at the side of the future 6th. . .and the father of the childs fiancee is here and knows and has just sort of shrugged it off, so I see no problems. As far as I've learned the 6th and the father of the child have worked out some sort of agreement. . .”

 

“ Yes, yes. . .I know,” murmurs Jiraiya. “ But about the actual BIRTH!!! How. . .how is the 6th going to even have a child!” Tsunade tilts her head in thought, eyes half lidded as she smiles.

 

“ Well, I'll be the medic nin assisting at the birth,” murmurs Tsunade. “ Nothings going to go wrong. . .I assure you of that and probably after we get this first one down pat we'll know what to expect in the future if the future 6th ends up pregnant again, or if his lover does.” Jiraiya sighs, relaxing as Tsunade smiles to herself. “ I can't believe he's going to become the 6th Hokage. . .”

 

“ Naruto Uzumaki. . .the hyper-active knuckle head ninja of Konoha has grown up,” murmurs Jiraiya, nodding as Tsunade smiles, drinking her sake as Jiraiya just grins. “ So are you going to have to hang around here then and play mid-wife to the 6th then?” Tsunade chuckles as Jiraiya smiles.

 

“ Or to the Kazekage which I think is more likely,” murmurs Tsunade, as Jiraiya nods, blinking as he hears footsteps, turning around a bit too look at none other then the mentioned Kazekage himself. “ Good to see you Kazekage. . .is there something you need?”

 

“ Naruto is complaining of stomach pains,” states the Kazekage, crimson hair falling into his emerald eyes. “ He seems. . .a bit panicked. . .he told me too come get you Lady Hokage. . .he though said it in not such nice words. . .” Tsunade blinks, rising to her feet rather quickly as the Kazekage blinks. “ Lady Hokage?”

 

“ Gaara, just call me TSUNADE for the last time,” murmurs Tsunade, starting to walk rather quickly too the window as Gaara blinks. “ Jiraiya. . .” Jiraiya blinks, rising to his feet as Tsunade turns to look at him. “ Go inform Sasuke that his son is too be born tonight. . .also go gather up Kakashi, Iruka and Sakura and any other useful. . .” Tsunade blinks, getting cut off by Gaara.

 

“ Naruto only wishes for Iruka-sensei. . .Sasuke-teme. . .yourself. . .the Pervy Sage. . .myself. . .and Hinata-sama to be there,” murmurs Gaara, causing Tsunade to blink at him. " Naruto says he doesn't want a lot of people to. . .know. . .I guess. . .Iruka is like a father too him. . .and of course Sasuke-teme is the father of this child. . .and you're the best medic nin in the world and Jiraiya is also like a dad to Naruto and well it's obvious why I'm going and Hinata-sama has become one of Naruto's best friends over the past couple of months.” Tsunade nods as Gaara seems to twitch a bit. Tsunade blinks as Jiraiya jumps past her and out the window to go retrieve the mentioned people. “ We. . .should get back to Naruto. . .” Tsunade nods, blinking as Gaara jumps out the window, landing on a nearby roof and running toward the Forest of Death.

 

“ Gaara. . .where are you going?” asks Tsunade, following the crimson haired Kazekage who stops just a bit into the Forest of Death near a cave. “ Why here?”

 

“ Naruto's instincts have been making him all twitchy and such. . .the Kyuubi wanted to come here. . .a more natural place I suppose,” murmurs Gaara softly, walking into the cave as he smiles ever so slightly. “ So he came here. . .” Tsunade just nods, following Gaara as the Kazekage moves deeper into the cave, blinking and then moving quickly to a huddled form in the corner, gathering the form close as Tsunade moves closer.

 

“ Is he alright?” murmurs Tsunade, worry on her face as her eyes trail over the huddled form of Naruto, the blond whimpering softly, curled up close to Gaara as Tsunade sighs. “ Gaara. . .” Gaara blinks, looking up at Tsunade. “ I think we need to get him back to Konoha and into the hospital. . .can you tell him that for me?” Gaara nods, whispering into Naruto's ear, blinking as he looks up at Tsunade as he shakes his head to indicate a “no” on Naruto's behalf. “ Why?”

 

“ He. . .says it's coming too fast. . .that we wouldn't make it back to Konoha in time,” murmurs Gaara softly. “ Tsunade blinks, moving closer as Gaara gently unwinds Naruto's arms from their near death hold around his neck. “ Naruto. . .Lady Tsunade can't help you if you don't let go. . .” Naruto whimpers, a soft cry escaping his lips as he shudders, letting go of Gaara weakly. “ Tsunade?”

 

“ Yeah. . .you are close Naruto,” murmurs Tsunade softly, eyes half lidded as she looks at him. “ Gaara. . .can you lay out a place for Naruto to lay down?” Gaara nods, gently settling Naruto onto the cave floor as he sets up a spot for the laboring blond to lay more comfortably. “ Naruto. . .can you talk to me?”

 

“ Yeah, I can Tsunade,” murmurs Naruto, smiling ever so slightly at her. “ No one ever told me it was going to hurt this much. . .damn that Sasuke-teme.” Tsunade just smiles, eyes half lidded as she looks at the blond. “ You said it's going to be a boy. . .right?” Tsunade nods as Naruto smiles. “ I think I'll name him Mashi. . .” Tsunade smiles more, looking at Naruto affectionately. “ Hey! He can call you Grandma Tsunade! How's that sound?”

 

“ Just make sure you tell him his grandma isn't OLD,” states Tsunade, smiling as Gaara carefully picks Naruto up, shifting the blond to the bed he'd made. “ Now then Naruto. . .obviously no one thought the baby would want to come as fast as it decided it did. . .” Naruto just nods, gasping at another contraction. “ How long has this been going on?”

 

“ Um. . .one. . .maybe two hours,” murmurs Naruto, blushing as Tsunade just gapes at him.

“ Should have sent Gaara to get you earlier I guess?”

 

“ Damn right you should have,” states Tsunade, carefully resting a hand against Naruto's swollen stomach as he whimpers softly. “ What were you thinking?”

 

“ I. . .I thought maybe he was just really, really kicky today. . .” murmurs Naruto as he winces as Tsunade moves her hand over his stomach. “ What. . .what are you doing?” Tsunade just shakes her head, looking toward Gaara as she blinks as she notices he's glaring daggers at the cave entrance, following his eyes to settle on Sasuke. Naruto blinks, following their gazes as he weakly moves a hand to touch Gaara's, silently asking the other not to start a scene. Tsunade just rolls her eyes as she looks away. “ It's nice of you to join us. . .just go find a spot to sit and stay quiet.”

 

“ I have a right to be here you know. . .it is my son he's giving birth too, not just his,” murmurs Sasuke, walking closer to Naruto as the blond winces, actually trying to shift a bit away from the approaching Uchiha. “ Gaara's the one that doesn't have a right to be. . .” Sasuke blinks as he's suddenly cut off by Naruto.

 

“ GO WAIT OUTSIDE!!!” exclaims Naruto, temper rising as Sasuke blinks in shock.

“ I'm the one that's giving birth to YOUR son Sasuke-teme! Not you! So I have the right to say who can and can't be here! I happen to WANT Gaara here! He is my fiancee after all!” Sasuke just rolls his eyes, standing there as Naruto growls. “ GET OUT OF HERE!”

 

“ Why don't you make me,” hisses Sasuke, smirking as he blinks as he feels not metaphoric daggers being glared at the back of his neck, but REAL daggers. Naruto blinks, giggling and then crying out as another contraction hits him.

“ Who in the hell. . .?”

 

“ Na. . .Naruto said to get. . .get out of here Sasuke-san,” stutters Hinata, the dark haired woman holding a kunai to the back of Sasuke's neck. “ It. . .isn't good to excite or stress out a person in labor. . .it could cause complications and possibly lead to the death of both mother and child. . .now please. . .don't make anything worse and go wait outside.” Sasuke just nods dumbly, doing as told as he goes to wait outside as Hinata blushes, moving to knell at Tsunade's side. “ So. . .so Naruto. . .how are you?”

 

“ Well. . .other then being naked in front of two women. . .um. . .alright I guess,” murmurs Naruto, blushing and then gasping as he feels sharp pain in his stomach.

“ Tsu. . .Tsunade? What. . .what are you doing?”

 

“ The babies too big Naruto. . .it won't come out the way it got in,” murmurs Tsunade, causing Naruto to turn bright crimson as Gaara just smiles weakly. “ I have to do a caesarian section and cut it out of you. . .” Naruto nods weakly as Tsunade tilts her head for a moment. “ Can you draw energy from Kyuubi?” Naruto blinks, tilting his head as he looks at Tsunade. “ Naruto. . .?”

 

“ He can't. . .most of the Kyuubi's energy has been used just to keep the baby alive,” murmurs Gaara softly. “ It. . .takes up a lot of chakra. . .” Tsunade nods, holding a kunai as she smiles weakly. “ Naruto. . .”

 

“ I'll be fine,” murmurs Naruto softly. “ Just make sure Mashi survives.”

Tsunade nods, starting to cut Naruto open carefully as Naruto just bites down on his lower lip as Tsunade starts the procedure. Gaara sits beside Naruto, holding the blonds hand as worry graces his face.

Meanwhile Outside

 

“ What do they think they're doing. . .kicking me out,” growls Sasuke, sitting on a rock outside the cave. “ The child he's giving birth too is mine just as much as his!” Sasuke sighs, blinking as he looks up, noticing Jiraiya and Iruka walk right past him and into the cave as he growls. “ That baby wouldn't exist without me!” Sasuke blinks, looking up as his black eyes meet with green as he startles. “ What do you want!?”

 

“ You're right, Mashi wouldn't exist without you,” states Gaara, looking at Sasuke as he smiles ever so slightly. “ And Naruto wouldn't be alive today without you most likely. . .but that didn't give you a reason to force yourself on him. . .when you knew full well that he and I were engaged. . .and that he was to become 6th Hokage. . .you did it out of jealousy and yet you were already engaged to my sister. . .”

 

“ So what. . .why aren't you in there with your PRECIOUS Naruto,” hisses Sasuke, causing Gaara just to glare at him. “ What? It's not like he's pure or anything. . .I had him first. . .” Gaara chuckles, looking at Sasuke who blinks. “ What's so funny?”

 

“ Yeah you're the first to have him without his consent,” hisses Gaara. “ But I already had him far before you did Sasuke Uchiha. . .” Sasuke blinks confusion on his face as he looks at Gaara. “ Remember when you and the other members of the rookie 9 came to Sunagakure for New Years?” Sasuke nods as Gaara smirks. “ We didn't announce it until March. . .but Naruto and I got engaged over that time in Sunagakure. . .” Sasuke hisses, glaring as Gaara smiles. “ Though I guess you still are the only one to have had him in THAT way Sasuke. . .but Naruto has had me. . .and you'll be quite interested to find something out soon. . .” Sasuke just blinks, hearing his and Gaara's names from inside the cave. “ Ah, I guess he wants us back in to meet Mashi.” Sasuke just nods dumbly as Gaara walks into the cave, knelling next to a now covered Naruto, holding a wrapped baby. “ So. . .what color are his eyes?”

 

“ Hmm. . .they're odd. . .a mix of blue and red. . .not purple, but blue and red existing together. . .really cool,” murmurs Naruto, holding his son close as he looks toward Sasuke half-heartedly. “ His names Mashi Uchiha. . .on the birth certificate you get. . .he's Mashi Uzumaki on mine.” Sasuke just nods as Naruto holds the baby close. “ His hair is really an odd mixture. . .blond-grey with lots of odd red and blue mixed within.” Sasuke blinks, leaning in closer to get a look at his son as he blinks, seeing the child as he smiles ever so slightly. “ And these red and blue marks on his cheeks. . .gets that from me I suppose. . .some of the Kyuubi influence getting into him.”

 

“ He's cute. . .I'll say that,” murmurs Sasuke, sighing as he looks away. “ You're still up to keeping the agreement. . .right?” Naruto nods as Sasuke sighs softly. “ Okay then. . .joint custody then. . .I keep him during the days. . .you get him at night and on the weekends I guess. . .” Naruto nods, holding the baby close. “ You also get him for the first year and I can stop by and visit whenever I want within reason.” With that Sasuke starts to walk out of the cave, blinking as Naruto speaks.

 

“ Yes. . .I know. . .Sasuke. . .” murmurs Naruto, looking up slowly, tears in his eyes as Sasuke blinks, walking back toward the blond. “ I. . .I. . .” Sasuke blinks, looking over toward Gaara who looks equally as confused as he does. “ I. . .I. . .I don't want Mashi to come between our friendship Sasuke. . .I still want to be friends. . .best friends. . .sure. . .he's our son. . .but still. . .we can't let him ruin our friendship. . .we both screwed up. . .not just you. . .I could have stopped you if I'd really, really wanted too. . .” Sasuke sighs, looking at Gaara who just smiles ever so slightly. “ It's just. . .how Kyuubi was at that time. . .and. . .and well. . .I suppose I wanted to have a pup. . .and well. . .” Naruto just holds Mashi close, starting to cry as Sasuke sighs, kneeling down as he carefully kisses Naruto's forehead as Naruto blinks.

 

“ Yes, but I shouldn't have taken advantage of that weakness,” murmurs Sasuke softly, gently stroking the blonds hair. “ I saw an opportunity and pounced on it. . .all with me wanting to restore the Uchiha clan and all. . .” Naruto chuckles softly, nodding as he looks toward Gaara who just leans close, kissing Naruto's cheek. “ I wish you both eternal happiness. . .you know that. . .”

 

“ And we both know you quite blatantly still have the hots for my fiancee,” murmurs Gaara, causing Sasuke to laugh as Gaara just smiles slightly. “ You can look, but NO MORE TOUCHING!!!” Sasuke nods obediently to the Kazekage and his future brother-in-law. “ And I'm certain you'll be able to start restoring the Uchiha clan with Temari. . .”

 

“ Ah, I promise to take very, very good care of your sister,” murmurs Sasuke, blinking as he hears Naruto whine as he rolls his eyes. “ You're as much an attention whore as ever.”

 

“ Yeah, well I just gave birth, I deserve attention,” murmurs Naruto, cuddling Mashi close as he smiles. “ Yes Sasuke-teme, you better take REAL good care of Gaara-chan's sister or I'll be after you. . .”

 

“ I'm bi, but I'd prefer not to be bye-bye,” murmurs Sasuke, earning a laugh from Tsunade who is sitting in a corner filling out some papers and such. “ Well, I best be getting back home. . .take care Naruto. . .Gaara. . .make sure Mashi doesn't only eat Ramen. . .”

 

“ I promise. . .I'll make sure he eats other things then just ramen,” murmurs Gaara, nodding as Sasuke leaves as he sighs. “ That's good. . .everything seems to have finally worked itself out. . .so Naruto. . .do you want to head home or stay here a bit longer.” Gaara blinks, noticing that Naruto has dozed off to sleep as he smiles. “ Ah love. . .you fall asleep too easily. I guess the road to becoming Hokage is harder then you thought.”

 

Tsunade smiles, watching the couple, eyes half lidded as she looks at Gaara. “ So. . .I think Mashi there has a bit of influence from you in him as well,” murmurs Tsunade softly, smiling as Gaara looks up, blinking at her. “ I think his eye's will fade to blue with time and end up with red Sharigan swirls in them.” Gaara nods as Tsunade's eyes travel to Gaara's stomach as a slow smile graces her lips. “ Hmm. . .is there something you two have been hiding from us?” Gaara blinks, blushing as a hand moves to his stomach. “ So. . .how many months?” Gaara smiles shyly as he looks up at Tsunade.

 

“ I'm. . .5 months along,” whispers Gaara softly, a pale blush gracing his cheeks. “ As Naruto's pregnancy only lasted 7 months. . .partially from the Kyuubi influence. . .you can guess roughly. . .”

 

“ Oh. . .this little one's from the night you guys disappeared in. . .May,” murmurs Tsunade as she smiles slightly. “ Mashi was conceived in mid-April and it's October 31 today. . .so then. . .this little one was conceived in late May then?”

 

“ That's. . .what we're guessing,” murmurs Naruto, slowly waking up as Gaara smiles at Naruto. “ Though. . .we could have miscalculated. . .” Gaara blushes as Naruto giggles softly. “ We. . .had Sakura help us out with the timing. . .the pregnancies in it's second term. . .possibly into the early 3rd term. . .”

 

“ This one. . .could actually come from 3 different times,” whispers Gaara softly as he touches his stomach. “ The most likely is in May. . .but it is possible. . .that it's from the late March announcement of our engagement. . .”

 

“ Or the April announcement of me becoming the next Hokage,” whispers Naruto, blushing as he smiles shyly at Gaara. “ If in May it was too early for us to know I was pregnant. . .” Tsunade nods, smiling as she looks at Naruto. “ This little one will be born. . .January or February most likely. Unless it was from March. . .then December. . .”

 

“ If I can pull off full term,” whispers Gaara softly as he blushes. “ Even without the Shukaku. . .there was enough of a lingering effect of having it within me. . .” Naruto just smiles, giggling as he looks at Mashi, but wincing as his sons little hand wraps around one of his fingers, his sharp nails piercing his fathers skin. “ He's got Kyuubi nails. . .” Naruto just nods as Gaara smiles softly, touching his stomach. “ It's. . .a girl actually. . .”

 

“ Her name's going to be Sunako,” whispers Naruto as he smiles softly. “ She's a “ child of Suna” hence her name.” Tsunade smiles, nodding as Naruto cuddles Mashi close as he smiles tiredly. “ Think we could maybe head back to Konoha now?”

 

“ Someone's going to have to carry you, can't have you moving in your condition,” murmurs Tsunade. “ Yes I healed the cut from the c-section and now Kyuubi is lending you chakra, but still. . .” Naruto just smiles shyly, nodding as Tsunade yawns. “ Hmm, where's Jiraiya. . .he can summon one of the smaller toads to carry you. . .” Tsunade trails off, blinking as Gaara just leans down picking Naruto up as Tsunade starts. “ You put him down this instant Gaara! You have a child in you! You can't be lifting Naruto in your condition!” Gaara starts, nearly dropping Naruto, Tsunade's voice also having startled Jiraiya and Iruka to full wakefulness as Jiraiya starts to summon a toad, blinking as none other then Kankuro walks into the cave, causing both Gaara and Naruto to start as Tsunade blinks.

 

“ You know, voice is loud enough to wake up half the damn village,” murmurs Kankuro, looking at Gaara as he just smiles. “ Hiya bro. . .so how's your stepson doing?” Gaara just smiles as Kankuro walks closer, looking down at Mashi as he smiles. “ Looks more like his mom. . .” Naruto growls as Kankuro just chuckles softly. “ Hey now, don't worry I'm not going to hurt him. . .he is after all my step-nephew you know. . .”

 

“ I know,” murmurs Naruto, sighing as he looks at his future brother-in-law. “ Why're you here?”

 

“ Well, I hear Lady Tsunade there all screaming and such. . .so I came too see what was going on,” murmurs Kankuro as he shrugs. “ Sasuke was heading home. . .he heard and almost turned around, but I told him I'd take care of it.” Naruto just nods as Kankuro smiles. “ So. . .you need a lift home then?” Naruto blushes as Kankuro chuckles softly.

“ Now, don't be shy, I don't bite. . .”

 

“ Usually,” murmurs Gaara under his breathe as Kankuro just chuckles. Naruto just sighs, starting to doze off again as Gaara sighs. “ Lets get him and Mashi home. . .” Naruto just cuddles Mashi close, squeaking as Kankuro picks him up as Gaara follows after his brother as Kankuro moves quickly, carrying Naruto toward the Hokage's residence.

 

“ Well here you go,” murmurs Kankuro, carefully setting Naruto down outside his house. “ I take it you can at least walk into your own house. . .” Naruto nods, holding Mashi close as Gaara walks up close beside Naruto. “ Well then, take care you two. . .I should probably be heading back to Suna soon. . .” Gaara nods as Kankuro disappears into the shadows of the night. Gaara sighs, helping Naruto into the building, leading him to the nursery as he helps Naruto settle Mashi in for the night as he smiles gently. Naruto sighs, wandering toward his room, flopping down on top of the orange and black covers on his back.

 

“ You did it Naruto,” murmurs Gaara softly, sitting down next to Naruto as Naruto just smiles for a silent moment. “ He's. . .beautiful Naruto. . .” Naruto smiles tiredly, looking at Gaara through half lidded eyes. “ Tsunade thinks. . .he looks a bit like me. . .” Naruto smiles more as Gaara tilts his head. “ What're you smiling about Naruto?”

 

“ She's right,” whispers Naruto softly, looking at Gaara as he shifts closer to Gaara, voice lowering ever so slightly. “ He looks like you and Sasuke and me. . .” Gaara blinks, confusion on his face as Naruto just smiles. “ I. . .after I found out I was pregnant. . .before I told you or Sasuke. . .I went and talked with Tsunade. . .” Naruto smile shyly as Gaara just blinks again. “ You. . .see. . .well. . .” Naruto smiles shyly, taking out Mashi birth certificate slowly as he holds it out to Gaara. Gaara blinks, reading over the fathers names on the paper as his eyes widen.

 

“ How in the hell?” murmurs Gaara softly. “ Sasuke Uchiha AND The 5th Kazekage Gaara?” Naruto fidgets for a moment as Gaara blinks. “ Naruto?”

 

“ Tsunade. . .had some of your blood. . .on hand,” whispers Naruto softly as Gaara blinks. “ She. . .did a special jutsu. . .and messed with Mashi's DNA. . .intermixing yours and Sasuke's and mine. . .Sasuke doesn't know. . .and as long as Tsunade, you and I don't tell him. . .he won't. . .” Gaara just stares at Naruto for a silent moment before suddenly hugging Naruto close and crying. “ What. . .what's wrong?”

 

“ Wh. . .when you were so sick you could barely move. . .when Tsunade had you in the hospital and Sasuke and I both found out. . .it was that procedure that. . .that stuck you in there,” gasps out Gaara, tears trailing down his cheeks, his face buried against Naruto's chest as Naruto just nods. “ And. . .and I just yelled at you. . .and. . .and stormed out of the hospital. . .and Tsunade caught me and screamed at me for jeopardizing the health of “both mother and child” and I screamed back that “ it isn't MY child so why should I care if it lives or dies!”. . .and stormed off. . .Tsunade had whispered something back then. . .but I missed it. . .”
