Chapter 1:
What The Hell Is With This Guy?
"GOOD MORNING!" Aika said cheerfully as she sat down
"Hey" most everyone said back in unison. It was about a week since the 3 started going to Konoha. They had become fairly good friends with the group they sit with. Said group had begun to suspect a romantic feeling between the red head and Vyse, only for it to be confirmed later by Fina when they asked her and she said "Aika does have feelings for him." And that quelled any attempts to get with either of them, which usually makes it a little easier, less awkward n' all
"So what's this I hear about ANOTHER new student?" Kiba asked, in an almost confused state. "Yeah, I heard it's some guy from... actually, I didn't ever hear where he was from, or anything else about him." replied Sakura. "Well, looks like your questions are about to be answered," said Vyse, gesturing to the front of the class.
Iruka was standing at the front of the class trying to get everyone to quiet down. When he finally did just that, by means of yelling "SHUT THE HELL UP!" [AN: a little unorthodox, yes, but I think it should creep it's way into the teacher to student vocabulary] After the wide eyes started to lessen in width and number he continued with "I'm sure you've all heard that we're getting another new student today, well, that's right, so, he'll introduce himself to you now. Go ahead and come in," the last part was directed to the doorway.
In walked a skinny student dressed in his school uniform, the jacket was opened and the collar was partially up. His tie was undone and just laid around the back of his neck, causing him to look just a tad disheveled. He had his hands going under the bottom of his jacket and in his back pockets. And a messenger bag strap across his shoulder and chest. The bag itself was kind of warn, and had patches pinned to it. His hair was black, shorter in the back, and on the right side it progressively got longer, in the front right his hair went down to about his chin and on the left his hair was swept over his forehead and part of his cheek, making sure to not have a part and to hide most of his face, just about the only thing visible of said facade was his mouth, left eye, and most of his nose. In short... he was outta place in this prim and proper school, but, somehow, he could carry the look off fine in this heard of sheep.
"Hey," he said casually, "I'm not gonna bore you with a lot of stuff you don't need to know, if you have a question... just ask."
"WHAT SCHOOL DID YOU TRANSFER FROM!" Ino yelled out, somewhat flushed, as were most the girls, he noticed. "Don't worry about it," he said coyly, "anything else?" Iruka spoke up to this, "umm, how about your name?" He turned back from Iruka to the class and said, "Yeah, sorry about that, not that it's all that important for the class, but the name's is Ian.
I'll take this time to address the "flushed" looks of some of the womens...
It's not that this kid is overly attractive, he's actually kinda goofy lookin, in the grand scheme of things, it's more of the fact that he's new and different, somewhat mysterious: physically, cause of the hidden face, and psychologically cause of how he didn't really say a single goddamn thing about himself.
"Ok, where should I sit?" Iruka pointed in the direction of the only 3 seats left, the one behind Kiba and in front of Naruto, the one in front of Kiba and behind Gaara, and the one in front of Hinata and behind Sakura, "Take your pick. Oh, and fix your tie, we have uniforms for a reason. If you need help, I'm sure someone in the class would be happy to do it." The last part got a few skanky chicks to raise their hands. He just replied with a "No, I got it. Thanks." very nonchalantly, on his way to his seat.
He was about to sit in the seat behind Gaara when said student turned around and gave him a confused look. "You not want me to sit here?" Ian said picking his bag back up to go to the next seat. "No, it's fine, I just figured you'd sit by the girls back there." Gaara replied, gesturing back. "Oh, about that, yah, I didn't really feel like sittin by a chick, I mean, don't get me wrong, I am not gay, cock is NOT my thing, I'm all about the vagina," this, for one reason or another, cause everyone in that group to laugh, or at least chuckle, even Gaara, "I just didn't wanna sit next to a girl today, I'll sit back there if you wanna be alone, but I figured I'd just sit up here. You seemed a little lonely anyways."
"Ok, go ahead and sit there, people usually trade seats all the time in here, so girls'll probably be sitting by you anyways" Gaara said with a very slight chuckle. "You mean that?" Ian questioned, a little distantly, "good God, mother fuckin.... what the hell? What's the point of having assigned seating then?" [AN: I'd just like to throw in here that some people who aren't around cussing and whatnot get embarrassed by it, cause society says it's "bad," well, that's exactly what happened] Feeling things get a bit awkward, Ian turned back to see most of the girls, aside from Temari, blushing and most of the guys, aside from Gaara and Shikamaru, laughing. "What? Oh, the cussing, yah, if you don't like that kinda language, I'll do my best to sensor myself." Blinking herself back from the slight shock of the language, very much looked down upon by her family, Fina quietly, and VERY shyly, said "N-n-no, that's quite alright. You should act how you normally act around us." Looking back to see the timid girl, whom he hadn't really noticed till just now, he said "Ok, if you're all sure."
"HEY! I said fix your uniform!" Iruka yelled over the noise of the room. "I'm on it," replied the new kid, startled out of his little conversation with the shy blonde girl. With that he began to mess with his tie, although, possibly out of spite, and possibly out of good natured fun, he made it into a noose-like knot. I guess Iruka wasn't in the best mood, cause he didn't really like it... at all, in fact, he seemed to get a little angry. "Tie it correctly, I told you, we have uniforms for a reason!" Taken aback he unwound the tie and said "Ok, okay, I was just kidding, not like it woulda' stayed anyways." And he started to mess with it again, but before he could actually start tying it Fina had gotten up and started tying it for him. "Oh, thanks.." he said, blushing, of course [AN: lotsa' blushing in here, you know, awkward teens n' all that jazz]. "Yes, thank you Fina," Iruka chimed in with, "Why don't you guys just circle your desks and introduce yourselves, tell him about the school and all that."
So, they did, they all sat in a circled and started talking. "I like your bag, can I look at the patches?" Aika said. "Yeah, knock yourself out," Ian said tossing his bag (now pretty well empty due to the fact he hasn't been givin any books) then turning back to his conversation with the rest of the group. The bag itself was a simple messenger bag, black with some white-out writing on it. "'Don't ever tell anybody anything. If you do, you start missing everybody.' What's that?" Aika said. "Huh? Oh, that's just a quote from one of the greatest novels ever." Ian said, with a sad, yet enthralled, look in his eyes. "And what novel is that?" Vyse asked. "I'll tell ya when you're older." The owner of the bag replied. To that a couple "Huh?"s were heard from the surrounding students. "Don't worry about it." he said, "Lets just get back to our little convo... So, where is the cafeteria? Oh, Aika, most the shit I've written on there is from the same book."
Now, back to this bag: So, as you know it had a quote on it from some mystery book. It had more from that same book, I'll just list em now: "Goddam money. It always ends up making you blue as hell." "It's really too bad that so much crumby stuff is a lot of fun sometimes." "People never notice anything." "People always think something's all true." [AN: All of these quotes are from a novel, disclosed in a later chapter, if you know it, I commend you]. Also found on the bag were a few patches, there was a circle, the edge was black, and the inside was red, but in the red was a simple olde timey streetlight, "What's that for?" Aika asked. "Umm, a great band called Streetlight Manifesto." He said turning back. "And this one?" Aika said pointing to another circular patch, this one was white, although dirty, with a black "C13" on it, in such a way as to make it into a circle. "Calibretto 13" he said while reaching into his inside pocket of his jacket and pulling out a straw, the bottom of if was bent at about quarter length and obviously chewed on, the top was burnt and melted. Without saying a word he put the chewed end in his mouth and started chewing on it, then turned back around. Also on the bag was a very light yellowish, square, patch that said "Shout Out Louds" in black and had the silhouette of many a seagull on it, and yet another on that said "Harley Poe" on a black rectangle in white, "cracked'" and "cobweb-ed," writing. On the strap was a ragged, black, patch that had a flowery/vine-y design around a scrolled "mewithoutYou." After Aika and Vyse looked at all these they asked "What kinda music are they all?" To this Ian just said "too eclectic to describe it all, so don't think about it, I'll let ya mak some of em later." Afterwards Aika and Vyse just looked at each other, blinked, looked at Ian, blinked, and looked at each other again just to say "What the Hell is with this guy?" Which seemed to be the basic thought about him from everyone in the class not talking with him. Many whispers could be heard throughout the class saying the exact same thing....
