“How is our patient?”
“Steady, for the most part, doctor. We are keeping the seal under control until Minato-sama or Jiraiya-sama gets here.”
“It's getting that bad, huh?”
The young female nurse sighed and ran her fingers through the silky blonde locks on the boy's forehead. It was difficult to believe that this strange man was related to the Fourth Hokage.
He looked so much like their beloved Hokage that it had alarmed the doctors. They had brought in all of their Genjutsu and Ninjutsu specialists to see if he had a special henge or some sort of weird Ninjutsu that they had never seen. Once it had been confirmed by the specialists and a Hyuuga and an Uchiha was brought in to doubly confirm it, they had called in every potion and medicine master and sage to see if there was any sort of concoction that would have changed a boy to look like the Fourth Hokage.
There wasn't any to simply make him resemble the Hokage- there were only ones to make him identical and only if they had DNA from the man himself. Finally, completely out of answers to explain the resemblance, the doctors decided to do a blood relation test to see if the strange man was related to the Hokage.
And he was related, all right. All of the markers in his DNA pointed 99% as his son. A son that the Yondaime was too young to have.
Curious, the doctors did one on Kushina-sama, the fourth's beloved wife and the unborn child she carried. According to the mitochondria, as they never lie, the man was 100% Kushina's son.
And 100% the child.
Astounded, with that news as well as the boy's sudden healing ability made itself know and his injuries began to knit together in front of their eyes, the doctors called in the Sandaime and Tsunade-hime, one of the great three Sannin, to consult the problem at hand. They held a future version of an unborn child in their hands with an unknown kekkei genkai. Tsunade immediately took over the boy's medical needs.
She knew that Kushina was but three or four months along, too soon to tell what the child was by ultra sound or blood. But as close as the blood tests were, they knew that the child was male and that he would grow up to be like the strange man.
Both Sarutobi and Tsunade agreed that Minato and Kushina needed to be told about the boy. The problem was the how.
When the doctor prodded the nurse again, she jolted back to the present and nodded. “Yes, that bad. The seal holds something powerful. I wonder who could have sealed it into HIS son. I just hope Hokage-sama doesn't-”
“You hope I don't what?”
The nurse stiffened and whirled around, effectively blocking the view of the man to Minato and Jiraiya and bowed, ignoring when the pervert sage leered and peeked down the woman's uniform. “Err… I hope you don't find anything wrong with him, Hokage-sama.”
He made a non- committal noise and took up the man's chart, absently flipping through all of the medical notes until he came to the seal charts. Everyone watched as his brow furrowed and he passed it to a stunned Jiraiya before turning and stepping close to the man on the bed. He missed the tip-toeing of the nurse and the doctor to the door. He absently started at the man's feet and moved up and his eyes widened in shock at the show of violent blonde hair and golden skin.
“What… what the hell is this? Give me that damn chart.” The Hokage jerked the chart back away from the toad sennin and tore through the pages looking for parentage. Minato knew he had no living relatives. They had all perished when he was but a small boy in the previous shinobi wars. In his ire, he missed the screaming of the doctor for Tsunade.
The Sannin tore through the door glaring at everyone in the room, “What…,” she looked at Minato's suddenly bloodless face, “oh shit.”
Minato swallowed convulsively. This had to be a mistake. Mother: Uzumaki Kushina. His beloved Kushina was much too young to have a child this old. He looked to be a few years younger than she was. He glanced down at the father and his blood ran cold.
Father: Namikaze Minato.
“By the gods.” Minato collapsed to the floor. His son. It was his son. A son that was but ten years younger than himself. His eyes glanced up at the angelic features of the boy and missed when Jiraiya and Tsunade got him to his feet and into a chair beside the boy. “My son…. I have a son as nearly as old as I am. How the hell does that work?” He lifted stunned eyes to Tsunade. “Details, Tsunade-hime, please.”
She shifted uncomfortably. “Ano, Minato-chan, ANBU team four found him outside the gates covered in blood maybe two or three days ago. We are using all of our power to keep him alive and his seal stable.” She took a deep breath, “But then a strange Kekkei Genkai acted up his severe wounds began to heal in front of our eyes.” She looked up at the shell-shocked Hokage, “He is stable and well on his way to recovery, Yondaime-sama.”
“That seal is the Shiki-fujin seal and it costs the user his life. I'm guessing Tenchi-san here was the recipient.” Jiraiya rumbled absently. He pulled down the sheet and pulled up and off the man's shirt to reveal golden skin and the seal. He poked the seal for a second. “The seal is stable. I think we can take the other seals off of it. But whatever it is holding is tremendously powerful.”
Minato unsteadily stood up his own eyes narrowed on the seal. He poked it as well. “I… I agree with Sensei. The seal is abnormally stable for such a trauma.”
Tsunade nodded and motioned to the seal-nins to begin the medic-seal removal process. One seal had been removed when a soft groan was heard from the man's lips. “Keep going. They must be removed by the time limit.” Tsunade order it loudly, her own chakra fluctuating until the third and final seal was off.
“Tsu… Tsunade-baa-chan?”
Jiraiya immediately went into a fit of convulsions and every Shinobi froze. A vein began to pulse on the slug Sennin's forehead and she grit her teeth before asking, “Gaki, what the hell did you just call me?”
The boy answered as if he hadn't heard her. “'m fine… Baa-chan. Take… take care of… Sakura-chan… and Ka… Kakashi-sensei… for me first… okay?” There was silence as a Dog faced ANBU came out of hiding and took off his mask in disbelief showing a mess of silver hair and the Sharingan.
When there was no forthcoming `okay,' the boy's features crinkled and he began to move to attempt to sit up, every muscle bunching under tight golden skin. No one could move as he began to attempt the impossible after such injuries despite rapid healing. Bright deep blue eyes cracked open and began to stare at Tsunade. “Wow, Granny… you made… your jutsu make you look… even younger than you were before. Where's… Ero-sennin?”
Now it was Tsunade who began to crack up as Jiraiya began to growl in irritation. Everyone knew who the boy was looking for. The boy's head slowly turned toward Jiraiya. “Ero-sennin, where's… Kakashi-sensei?”
“Kid, Kakashi isn't a Jounin. He's an ANBU.”
“Well… duh, Ero-sennin. A long… time ago. Back… when he… was a kid.” The boy collapsed back on the bed, breathing hard. “Oh… man. Stupid… Akatsuki.”
“Who are the Akatsuki?”
************
Naruto was confused and rightly so. He had just gotten himself in trouble with the Akatsuki and they had begun to extract Kyuubi when a big bright light had sucked his consciousness away and he awoke to see a younger, if that was possible, Tsunade and an even more perverted, he knew that was possible, Jiraiya. He didn't understand how anyone didn't know who the Akatsuki was. Tsunade-baa, Ero-sennin and Kakashi-sensei should know if anyone.
He hurt all over and he could feel the fox inside of him in the same amount of pain. As he lied upon the bed, trying to get his breath back, he could hear the fox beginning to give Naruto more of his chakra to heal his injuries. He hurt worse than after his fight with Sasuke.
He was unaware of everyone gasping as his seal grew bright red and his body being outlined in red chakra. “Tsunade-hime! His wounds… by the gods, they're healed or healing even more rapidly than before!”
Naruto frowned at that. They should know about the fox. They should know that Kakashi was his sensei. These were all `duh' things. He grew tense. Maybe he was in a genjutsu? He made a simple one handed seal and whispered “Kai.” He opened one eye.
Still the younger Tsunade. Still the perverted Hermit.
Okay. Time to fight and injure them enough to get him out of this abnormally strong genjutsu. Now that the pain was fading and nearly gone he measured his ability and his chakra. He mentally smiled.
Full power.
Minato tensed as he watched his son's eyes grow from being a pain clouded blue to a bright sunny blue to glacier and the boy stood slowly, jerking the IV's and all the other monitoring things off his skin. His body was completely healed.
The Fourth nearly smiled as he heard a strong and dangerous voice ring out, “Okay, show is over. You should know about that. This leads me to believe that this is Genjutsu!” He put up a seal, flared a bunch of chakra that stunned the people in the room, and shouted, “Kai!” and frowned when nothing happened.
“Hokage-sama?” Minato nodded imperceptively at Kakashi's question and three of the six hidden ANBU attacked.
Nearly as fast as his father, the boy jumped out of the way and put up a hand seal and shouted, “Taijuu Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!” Thirty shadow clones appeared and began to fight the ANBU, quickly over powering two until Dog destroyed them using Raikiri. With a stunned look, the boy shouted and pointed at Dog, “Kakashi-sensei! When did you go back to ANBU? Boy, you've gotten shorter!”
With a visible twitch, Kakashi shouted, “Quit calling me that! I'm not old enough! I don't want to be sensei to a bunch of brats!”
The boy's mouth dropped in shock. “But… but Kakashi-sensei, it's me, ya know, your loudmouth student, Uzumaki Naruto!”
