NARUTO: *Gulps and blushes while slowly backing away* hehehe… I'm just gonna go now…

CHAPTER 1 THE PRINCESS'S LETTER

 

It was early Friday morning as Naruto heard a loud banging on his apartment door. It was still cool and dark outside and the sun had not even managed to break the skies yet. Naruto fidgeted a little bit and covered his head with a pillow trying to ignore the loud banging until suddenly…CRASH!!! “What the…” before he could utter another groggy word Sakura cut him off. “Naruto, WAKE UP! DID YOU FORGET WE HAVE A MISSION BRIEFING THIS MORNING? YOU IDIOT! WE'RE GOING TO BE LATE AND TSUNADE IS GOING TO KILL US!!” Poor Naruto was freaked out as hell with Sakura-chan yelling in his face. She was ready to grab that old bear night cap high use to wear. Oh, he knew what she could do when she was pissed…and that made him fear for his life not just the bear cap she was staring at. “Calm down Sakura -chan! We won't be late I'll just get ready and we can...”

 

 

“Naruto! We're already almost an hour late! I swear, stupid Kakashi-sensei has really rubbed off on you…” She said annoyed crossing her arms and turning around. Naruto began waving his arms about and explaining that he had a hard night trying to fall asleep again. But, Naruto simply let out a sigh and said submissively, “Okay…I give up. I'll get dressed as fast as I can and we can go. I'm sure she won't be too mad.”

“YOUR LATE NARUTO!!!” Tsunade yelled throwing a large book at him as he set his foot inside her office. Naruto was too tired to dodge the gigantic book so it hit his straight in the nose leaving it bleeding and a stunned Naruto dazed on the floor. Even though he was no longer a child, sometimes he still acted like one. Sasuke, Kakashi, and Sakura sweat dropped as they heard Naruto hit the floor with a loud thud. “I swear, Kakashi really rubbed off on you…” Kakashi then stared at her blankly and shot her a glare over the edge of his little naughty book. Some things never change though. Naruto suddenly jumped up and recovered from his spot on the floor and stated defensively while pointing a finger at Tsunade, “THAT'S JUST WHAT SAKURA-CHAN SAID!!” Tsunade smirked crossing her arms and said “We'll I can see why…”

 

 

“Your still an old hag Tsunade-baa-chan!” Naruto said imitating her movements. She was already pissed that her beauty sleep was interrupted and now Naruto was as good as dead … Tsunade's eyebrow began to twitch as she was fuming and ready to kill him when the vein over her left eye popped out. “WHY YOU LITTLE BRAT!!” she said lifting her desk over her head, papers falling to the floor around her. Naruto stepped backwards and fell to the ground, fearing for his life a second time in less than forty-five minutes. Sasuke was enjoying it completely as a small devious smile crossed his face. Naruto's such an idiot…I can't believe he became a chuunin…'

 

 

Kakashi then cleared his throat gaining everyone's attention, “Tsunade-sama, why don't you tell us about the mission. Hmm?” Tsunade blinked twice and set her desk down while clearing her throat. “Well as you all know, this mission is a C Rank escort mission. The subject has sent me her profile and mission status.” Naruto's eyes became as big as dinner plates when she said her. `Oh WOW! I've always wanted to guard a girl. Maybe she's a princess…' Of course, as usual, Naruto didn't realize he was thinking outloud which irked Tsunade enormously. “Ahem Naruto, as I was saying, I have her profile and mission status. She is indeed a Princess, but of the legendary Chihari bloodline. However, the mission she has requested is, well, very interesting. Here is the letter she has sent directly to me:”

From: Princess Satsuka Chihari of the Village Hidden in the Fog

 

I, Princess Satsuka Chihari, heir to my clan, am requesting assistance for an imperative mission. However, this mission is slightly personal but I am willing to pay any amount that you require of me. My reasons are these:

 

 

My family values a the strict concept that the first born male shall become a ninja and have the right to master our Kekkei Genkai, listed in my subject Profile. Even though I am heir to the throne, I was not allowed to master my bloodline. But, for many years in secret, I have trained and mastered many jutsu from our family's records and the Great Shinobi Records in our village. Although I wish not to disobey my family's wishes, I feel the time to reveal the truth is now. I have the perfect opportunity, the Tournament of the gods.

 

So you see, I ask only this: send one of your most elite squads out to the Palace of the God's located near the Temple at the peak of the mountains. This squad should contain at least one jounin and a few chuunin, all with various abilities that compliment each other. For approximately a month they will enter, along with me, the tournament under aliases. However, if they make it through, tell them I am not to be taken so lightly because I am of royal blood. I will accommodate the squad you send with full hospitality. This includes a bedroom for each of the guests unless requested otherwise, 3 meals every day, access to the Temple, Hot Springs, and a welcome ceremony. My parents, the Lord and Lady, suspect I am hiring body guards to protect me from a suspected kidnapper who wishes to obtain my bloodline. Therefore, I must have at least one shinobi by my side at all times. My general facts and personal profile are listed behind along with a map of the area of Cloud country.

Sasuke smirked slightly and Naruto jumped for joy. “Awesome! A real live princess from a bloodline!” Sakura shot an annoyed glare to Naruto `God he is so annoying. I know he's a blonde but come on! Does have have to be a freakin' moron?!' Inner Sakura shouted. “Um Tsunade-sama” “Yes Sakura?” “You said she was a ninja right?” “Yes, why?” `Damn it! Now I'm going to have to compete with a princess for Sasuke's attention' Inner Sakura shouted in aggravation. She stood their with fire in her emerald eyes and her fists up to her chest. She looked ready to do what Tsunade did with her desk earlier except with someone's body. Naruto was watching Sakura and he waved a hand in front of her face chanting,” Sakura wake up. Yohoo, you alright?” Big Mistake.

 

 

Sakura snapped out of her thought and slugged Naruto in the front of his head. “OW,OW,OW!!!! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!” Naruto yelled, grasping his head. “FOR BEING TO CLOSE TO MY FACE YOU IDIOT!!” she ranted while preparing for another swing when Sasuke inteveined. “Enough Naruto! You're such a loser! I still can't believe you haven't grown up the past six years.” he said arrogantly crossing his arms and smirking. “What did you say Sasuke bastard? You wanna fight?” Naruto said in a fighting stance. Sasuke just walked past him and said, `Ch! Like it's worth my time. You can't even lay a finger on me you idiot!” This briefing was really going no where except in a downward spiral about to crash. “ENOUGH!” Tsunade yelled, pounding her hands to her desk.

 

 

Every one now stared at her as a hush made its way over the room. Then everyone heard a cracking noise and looked at her desk. First it was small then it got bigger and then it traveled straight down the desk. It fell to the ground leaving a small cloud of dust in its wake and a wave of panic hit the office. This was the second desk she had broken this week that makes a total of 16 this month and the bill was going up. Now she was really going to blow… “AAAARGH!! CAN'T I GET PEACE FOR ONE DAY?!” She yelled, her face the color of Sakura's hair and a seal appearing on her face. Everyone slowly backed away and they all said in unison “Goodbye Hokage-sama.”

 

 

A panicked Naruto ran out of the room followed by an angry Sakura and a calm Sasuke, cool as ever. Kakashi was the last one out and as he calmly strutted out he turned around with book en tow and said with a `smile' “Yo Tsunade, herbal tea with ginseng calms the nerves. You should try it sometime.” “OUT!” She screamed sending pens barraling towards him like senbo. He then proofed out of the room to the roof of the council building. He could still hear her screaming but with the accompaniment of banging, crashing, and breaking. He laughed and gave his happy anime eye thinking `This is going to be an interesting trip' Boy was that a complete understatement.
