Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto!
We only got back very late in the evening and since I was exhausted I could kill Ino the next morning. It was now her and Neji's turn to guard me, but why did she have to barge into my room at seven in the morning. Groaning I pulled my pillow over my head, but the blonde had other plans.
“Wake up, sunshine!” She yelled leaping on my bed, which also meant leaping on me.
“Ino, that hurts!” I screamed, flipping her of me while sitting up. “Why are you so early?” I glared at her.
“Oh, Neji always gets up so early and this way we have more time to train.” She bowed towards me. “You didn't do anything yesterday, did you?” Feeling a little guilty I shook my head and decided to get up with a sigh. After I showered and dressed, I found the couple with Shika in the kitchen.
“Come on, let me read!” Surprised I looked how Ino yanked a paper out of Shikamaru's hands. “What is this?!” Confusion was spread all over her face and she pressed the paper in front of her boyfriends noose. Neji was stirring a spoon through his cup of coffee and glanced upwards for a second.
“That's code.” He answered while his eyes were again concentrating on his drink.
“Code, who writes in code to her boyfriend?!” Ino dared the two guys to oppose her.
`So, it's a letter from Temari.' I thought walking over to them.
“She's probably asking how Shizuka is doing.” The lazy nin said bored while reclaiming his property. After a quick breakfast we left Shika alone with his letter. He probably was going to put some time in translating it anyway and didn't need us priers.
-
“Where are we going?” I asked, straightening Temari's kimono.
“The Uchiha compound.” Neji answered, making me look surprised at him. “To train.”
“Oh yeah, of course.” How could I forget, that was the reason Ino woke me up so early. The moment we were safe in the compound I dropped the hence and quickened my pace. I was hoping Sasuke would turn up and had to hold myself in to not scream daddy when I saw him sitting against a tree.
“Sasuke-kun!” Ino screamed instead while the raven slowly opened his eyes. He nodded as greeting before he and Neji started to discuss what they were going to do today.
“So, how was the meeting with the side branch?” I asked Ino and she let out a sigh.
“The… lets say “higher” Hyuuga's of the side branch clearly didn't think I was good enough for their prodigy.” Shocked I looked at her as answer. “A couple of them did seem to accept it when Hinata-chan praised my ninja skills, but… others…” She hesitated.
“Others?” I asked and she moved a little closer, making sure the guys didn't hear her.
“They were comparing me with Sakura and said they could consider it if I was the Hokage's student.” She whispered hurt.
“They what?! How can they say that? You've gotten the same training as Sakura, didn't you?” She nodded.
“But from Sakura not the Hokage herself.” “But she's repeating the Hokage's lesson, so indirectly you were getting her training!” I nodded to myself and she seemed to cheer up a little.
“That's true, from the moment she mastered it Sakura taught it to me.”
“Just show them what you're made off.” Finally the blonde smiled again and just in time since the guys joined us.
“Everything's alright?” Neji asked. It seemed he had noticed the down mood of his girlfriend just a minute ago.
“Yeah, couldn't be better.” The blonde smiled wrapping her arms around his neck.
“So, what's the plan?” I asked Sasuke turning my back to the couple, giving them some privacy.
“We'll start with teaching you how to create a clone.” His answer made me raise my eyebrows.
`Aren't I then technically creating a clone from a clone?' I wondered.
“But first I want you to walk on those walls.” Sasuke pointed to the closest house. I couldn't help but compare it with the training team 7 had undergone with Kakashi, the only difference that they had walked on trees. I walked to the house and started to collect my chakra. After guiding it to my feet I carefully put my right foot on the wall and glued it to it. Taking a big breath I jumped a little forcing my other foot also on the bricks.
Only when I noticed I wasn't falling I opened my eyes, which I had closed without noticing and discovered I had also glued my hands to the wall. I heard Ino's voice in the background, but she got hushed not to break my concentration. Slowly I brought my feet closer to my hands until they were between my legs. For a moment I breathed in and out to relax my body and started to release my hands cautiously. When I was standing almost horizontal I couldn't ignore the proud feeling inside. Especially, since I had to use force not to bend to the ground.
“Now walk!” Sasuke's voice made me remember my mission. Shuffling I started to move until I felt comfortable to take quick steps.
“Run, that's easier!” Ino's voice broke through my concentration. Listening to her advice I carefully started to move quicker with the second. In the end I was running the wall up and down before jumping off it under the cheers from my blonde friend.
“That was great! You have great chakra control!” I got a hug as reward from the blonde where after the guys smiled at me… at least I think it counted as a smile.
Next was cloning myself. Neji showed me the hand signals and created a perfect second Neji. Ino couldn't oppress a squeal and the clone smirked inviting at her. The real Neji quickly dispelled it, making his girlfriend pout. Now it was mine turn. With a little help I quickly remembered the hand signals and preformed the jutsu for the first time.
`I'm copying Naruto.' I thought seeing my spineless clone. Meeting Sasuke's eyes it was clear he was thinking the same thing.
“It's a good start.” Ino tried to cheer me up. She looked at her boyfriend ordering him to state the same, but he just kept looking thoughtful at me. It was like his eyes were looking through me and it was giving me the creeps, so I gave him a look that told him to spill it.
“Your chakra…” He started after a small pause. “…it's like you have two of them.” He continued in the end and he looked at Sasuke. “Two familiar chakras.” The Uchiha glared at the other, daring him to say more.
“Familiar, who's?” Ino interrupted the glare battle that had started, but Neji didn't answer instead he continued.
“But the point is that those two haven't stabilized themselves yet… one consequence is that it's hard to recognize your chakra… if it wasn't for the little bit of the Kazekage present. And another consequence is that you'll go from performing perfect jutsus to failing them miserably.” I looked kind of shocked at the Hyuuga.
`Shouldn't Sasuke have noticed this already?' I questioned myself glancing at my daddy. His reaction showed no different. `He knew?!'
“So…, it's that going to be a big problem?” I asked unsurely.
“They are going to settle down after it's clear which one you're going to use most.” My daddy finally thought it was time to open his mouth, but he did relief me.
“Let's continue the training.” Neji decided ignoring Ino's questioning looks. She couldn't follow at all. I nodded and slowly got back to work. At noon I finally produced an almost perfect clone.
“You've done it!” Ino cheered happily while I sat down between her and Sasuke.
“I'm hungry!” I sighed and as on sign the Hyuuga's stomach growled.
“Why don't we get something to eat?” Ino asked her hungry boyfriend before turning to me again. “You could use a break, don't you?” I nodded and the blonde jumped up. “Let's go!” Neji slowly got up and looked a last time at us. It was like he knew we were going to talk about the chakra issue. We watched them walk away and to my surprise I noticed the Hyuuga grabbing Ino's hand to pull her close.
“So, what's the deal with my chakra?” I turned to my daddy when they were out of hearing distance.
“You know of who the chakras are, don't you?” I nodded.
“You and Naruto's.”
“The only explanation that seems to fit is that something went wrong during the jutsu. You know it was dangerous and I guess this was one of the consequences.”
“But everything is going to be alright, right?” I asked to be certain. If not I would forever be a weakness to Gaara.
“Yes, I've been keeping an eye on it and they're stabilizing.” I led out a relief sigh and something came to mind.
“You recognize your chakra inside me, don't you?” He nodded. “So, that's why you weren't surprised when I just got here and Tsunade made me drop the hence.” He nodded again.
“And…” He started. He seemed a little nervous. “…since you have my chakra I want you to learn the Katon: Goukakyou no Jutsu.” I could only stare shocked at him.
“You… want me… to learn a jutsu from the Uchiha clan!” I said stunned and Sasuke kept it with nodding.
“You are my daughter after all.” He smiled at me to get me back to the living.
“That's true!” I smiled back and gave him a quick peck on the cheek. A small blush appeared on the raven's cheeks, but he quickly oppressed it and pulled a small scroll from his weapon bag.
“To do the Katon: Goukakyou no Jutsu you need to make the following hand signals: snake, tiger, monkey, boar, horse, tiger.” He wrote them down on the paper and gave it to me. “Make sure this is the first thing you burn and now watch.” Sasuke crawled on his feet and created some distance between us. “Katon: Goukakyou no Jutsu!” He yelled and a fire ball as big as the house I had walked on earlier appeared. While he straightened himself he looked at me.
“Alright, so first snake…” I tried the hand signals and with my daddy's help I mastered them… eventually. I knew Ino and Neji could be returning every minute, but still I wanted to try it at least once. “Katon: Goukakyou no Jutsu!” I yelled and a fire ball as big as my fist appeared. I pouted, but Sasuke smiled.
“That's good for the first time.” He encouraged me.
“Alright, second attempt!” I screamed and got in position. This time the ball was a little bigger. “Did you see that? It was bigger!” I squealed and the raven just smiled. “Again!” For the third time I performed the jutsu and it was even bigger. I was only worrying about the trees that were getting discomfortingly close. Then I heard a breaking sound, but when the fire disappeared no trees were burned. “Wha-…”
“Look out!” I heard my daddy yell, but I was to shock to move out of the range of the kunais that were flying my way. Frozen in place I couldn't move until it was almost too late. The only thing I could still do was protect my face with my arms. I waited for the impact, but it didn't come. Thinking Sasuke saved me I glanced sideway to him, but just like me he stood shocked in place. Curious, not to mention surprised I looked between my arm to see a wall of sand.
`Gaara!' Was the first thing that entered my mind, but after I quick look around I realized that was impossible. Looking back at Sasuke I noticed he had activated his sharingan. “What are you doing?” I asked and stepped backwards as reflex when the sand fell down. On the ground I saw the kunais lying mixed between the sand grains.
“You did that…” The raven revealed inactivating his blood limit.
“Me… but… how?” Confused I bowed over the sand and just when I wanted to touch it a couple of sand grain attached themselves to my skin. “Gaara's sand!” I realized.
“You have his chakra and his sand?” Sasuke asked walking closer and it seemed he had also figured it out.
“Yes… Let's see if I can do that again.” I concentrated and with a little will power the sand grains fell of my fingers. Concentrating on the sand I stood back up and made a curtain of sand.
“How did you learn that?” Ino's voice interrupted us. I turned to her and Neji, seeing them both look stunned at me.
“I've got Gaara's chakra and sand.” I explained moving the grains around in the air. During lunch I kept playing with my sand until at one point it just fell down. I retried to call it, but nothing happened.
“You've used all of the Kazekage's chakra.” Neji informed me. When I looked at him I could just see his byakugan disappear.
“Oh…” I was a little disappointed. It was fun controlling sand. I definitely needed Gaara to recharge me when I got back… not only because it's fun, but it could come in handy.
-
After lunch I continued practicing, first the clones and then the Katon: Goukakyou no Jutsu. Ino and Neji were really surprised when I showed them it. After they got over the shock Ino was bothering Sasuke to also learn her, his family jutsu, but Neji seemed to accept it. I think he knew there was some sort of connection between me and the Uchiha. He probably figured out who the owners of my two chakras were and didn't see me as a threat. While I was taking a break, Ino was healing a couple of burns and the guys had decided to spare. Neji was just trying to get near Sasuke when I felt a familiar chakra come our way.
“Someone's coming!” I made my discovery know to the blonde next to me. She seemed to search for the chakra signal and smiled relaxed.
“It's Shika.” Only a couple of minutes later the lazy nin strode onto the training grounds. The guys stopped their spare and looked questioning at the genius.
“Temari wrote that the danger in Suna is over and she wants to switch again.” My eyes widened surprised.
“The danger is over? Did they catch the culprit?”
“That she didn't write.” Why did I get the feeling not everything was fine yet, but who was I to complain. I was going back to Suna, back to Gaara.
“It's it okay with the training?” I asked my daddy and I noticed that he had a sad look in his eyes. “Sasuke?”
“You know the basics you should be able to continue in Suna.” He answered putting up a blank face again.
“Thank you.” I smiled sadly at him. I was going to miss him, it was nice to have a father figure.
“We better go and inform the Hokage before we sent a note with the place and time for the switch.” Shika said already walking away from us.
`I'm going back to Suna. Wait for me Gaara!' I bit my lip quickly following the lazy nin.
Stephke23: So, next chapter we meet Temari again and Shizuka can finally return to Suna, but what has Gaara been doing? Review! I would be so happy to have a lot of them when I'm back from my holiday.
