“Wakey wakey time!” I tried to wake up the redhead clinging to me. A mumble escaped from the sleepy head's lips before he snuggled closer. “Gaara, it's time to get up!” I sang while caressing the red locks, but still no reaction. “Wake up already!” I yelled getting irritated now.
“I don't want to.” His voice came at last and his grip on me tightened.
“You have too! It's already later than normally.” One eye peered open, looked attentive at me before closing again. “Come on, people are going to wonder what the hell you are doing in my room all day long.”
“Screwing you of course.” He answered without a thought and how much I wanted to deny it I couldn't. He was right, why else would he stay in his concubine's room all day. I was really getting good at asking stupid questions lately.
“Don't you have a village to run?” I ask bored and a displeased groan was my answer. Slowly he got up and yawned sleepy, turning away from me to drop his legs over the edge.
“You really seem to want me gone.” Surprised I straightened myself hearing his hurting tone and it took me a minute to get out of my astonishment. I wrapped my arms around him stopping him from leaving the bed and pulled him in my lap.
“What are you saying? I'd wish we could stay here like we were the only ones in the world,” I kissed him sweetly, “but sadly enough we aren't.” I gave him an apologizing look and he understood what I meant. We still had a facade to keep up. “Or you could decide I'm strong enough to keep myself safe and end that plan of yours.” I tried to bring a delicate topic to the surface.
“Not going to happen!” My redhead answered immediately and got up for real this time. He turned around to me and I put up a pouting face. “It kills me every time I have to ignore you, but I prefer that; than losing you for real.”
`He really knows what to say, doesn't he?' I said sarcastic to myself while looking up at him. A small smile took over his face and he bowed down to me.
“You really look delicious.” He whispered teasingly and I rolled my eyes, but accepted his kiss with greed. Moving my legs in the right direction I pulled him on me again. “I thought you said I had to go.” Gaara stated between kisses.
“I changed my mind.” I answered capturing his lips again. I could feel hands sliding under the sheets and felt my body heating up. The teasing lips descended to my neck leaving a hickey before… knocking interrupted us. We ignored the presence behind the door at first, but the knocking continued furiously.
“Who?!” Gaara seemed ready to kill whoever it was.
“Gaara?” Kankuro's voice sounded surprised, but he quickly got passed it. “We need Shizuka's help!” He continued.
“With what?!” I yelled back. What was so important he had to interrupt us and risk his life, seeing the Kazekage's eyes?
“The prisoner he wants to talk, but only to you!” Surprised and a little confused my eyes widened.
“W…why?” I asked the redhead who clearly was against it. I know he was at the point of forbidding me to go, saying it was too dangerous and other stuff, but I didn't really see any problems. There would be guards outside and if the prisoner was thinking I would be an easy target, he was wrong. “I'm coming!” I yelled to Kankuro and Gaara's eyes widened in full disbelief. He probably thought I would have seen it his way. “Don't worry, I'm a big girl and there'll be ANBU's everywhere… and you'll be there too?” I put up the innocent act and Gaara nodded without thinking. “Then let's finally get up!” I kissed him a last time, ignoring the worried look in his eyes.

We had entered the interrogating rooms and I was looking at the door that held the captured nin. I could feel Kankuro's eyes on me trying to read my expressions, but I didn't pay attention to him. In the corner of my eye I could see Baki discuss the situation with his leader and it was clear the advisor was also against my entering.
`Why is everyone against it?' I wondered and watched how Baki nodded to Gaara before they both walked closer to me.
“You sure you want to do this?” The redhead asked still with concern in his voice. I couldn't help but wonder what the big deal was.
“You do know how we extract information out of a prisoner, do you?” Baki asked and I nodded without a thought. His eyebrow rose in surprise and I knew he expected a clear answer.
“You… talk to him, try to convince him he should give up information, most of the times in exchange for something that benefits him…” I really had been watching to much crime dramas to actually come up with this.
“And what if that doesn't work?” Baki continued and I blink in surprise at him, then it registered.
“Torture.” I answered and was starting to get why Gaara was so concerned. `Of course, here they are still allowed to torture people.' I realized shocked.
“Yes, since he didn't spill anything we had no choice but to go that far and he finally agreed to talk, but only to you.” Baki made the situation clear and I had to swallow my doubts. How would the prisoner's condition be?
“He's counting on your compassion.” Gaara added and I couldn't deny that I probably would feel sympathy for the nin when I see him, but what good would that do?
`Oh wait; I do have an influence on Gaara, don't I?'
“Is his condition really bad?” I asked glancing at the door. Not getting an answer I looked back to the redhead and Baki, who were exchanging looks. “That bad.” I formed my own answer out of their expressions. Turning back to the cell door, I took a deep breath and nodded to the guard to open it. With the door only ajar I could feel Gaara sending waves of chakra inside the cell as warning. After a quick check of the room the ANBU let me enter and I was so glad I hadn't eaten anything yet.
The nin was sitting on a chair with his hands bound, or at least what was left of them. It seemed one torture had been breaking every bone from his fingers to his palm. His legs were also bound to keep him from kicking his tortures and around his waist I noticed a blood drenched robe I almost didn't see at first. Swallowing my fear down, my eyes slid back upwards and they just couldn't miss the large gab the prisoner had in his head. It seemed it had been healed just enough not to kill him, but there was still pouring a little blood out of it. Unconsciously I stepped backwards and felt Gaara's hands on my sides. I gave them a little squeeze and gathered my courage to look the prisoner in the eye. The glint in them couldn't be ignored.
`He still has fighting power!' I thought a little impressed. `Just how much can he take?'
“I thought I…” A hoarse voice got interrupted by a cough that brought more blood up. “The girl…only the girl!” He panted while blood flowed from the corner of his mouth, down his chin until it drenched his shirt.
“I'll be right here.” Gaara whispered in my ear and I tore my eyes form the vision in the chair in front of me. The sea-green eyes reflected my own fear and Kankuro had to pull his little brother almost literary out of the cell. Hearing the door close behind me, I gathering what still was left of my courage and walked closer to the nin. I concentrated on his eyes and finally I registered just who we had caught. He was one of the guys Kaeda had fought with.
“Speak!” I ordered putting up a fearless act. The prisoner let out a sound that probably had to be a laugh, but with the blood in his mouth it was more a gargling sound. Ignoring the new blood slipping out of his mouth, I glared dangerously at him.
“You really think… cough… I would tell you… anything when… cough… I didn't when they were breaking my bones?” Another gargling sound was heard and the nin spit out more blood.
“Then why did you ask for me?” Now the prisoner looked back up and gave me a big, blood stained teeth showing smile.
“I wanted to see what's… so special about you… cough.” My face revealed that I didn't really get him. “You've got the Kaze…cough, spit… Kazekage wrapped around your little… finger and… cough… the counsel wife… you were part of her barging.” I blinked surprised at him. He was provoking me!
“And that's of interest to you because?” Again that gargling sound, it was starting to freak me out, but then again it couldn't compete with the way he was looking.
“Cough, cough… I'm going to die here anyway…”
“That's true, as long as you don't speak that is.” I decided to change my tactic. I walked even closer, breathing through my mouth to lessen the blood smell. His face told me he wasn't planning on spilling anything. “You must have something to say… in these last moments of your life?” The nin seemed to consider this and in the end a smile graced his wounded face.
“I'll tell you something useful if… cough… you kiss me…” I was protesting in a second, but he wasn't done yet, “… in front of the Kazekage.” And a wave of coughs followed. When he had recovered again I was still looking at him like he was nuts.
“He'll kill you!” I said shocked. He was asking for his own death. I didn't like him one bit, but still I don't believe anyone deserves to die the way he was going to.
“Give me this little… pleasure… cough… I'll reward you generously!” The nin said with a smirk and I felt disgusted. How could he even suggest me doing something like that while he was looking half-dead? Without a word a stood up and walked to the door. “This offer only count's until… you walk out of that… cough… door!” I could hear him spit blood on the floor and doubtfully held my hand a centimeter from the door. While I was mentally debating what would be best, the door opened from the outside and Gaara stood worryingly before me.
`Suna is important, didn't I say one time he had to pick it over me?' I remembered while looking at him. He noticed my inner debate and stepped closer. “You would do anything for this village, wouldn't you?” I asked and watched how his lips formed a yes. “Then I should also be like that!” I mumbled to myself and turned around back to the prisoner. I saw him smirk and couldn't help but wonder if there had been so much blood on his face before. Without thinking I practically ran towards him, hesitating I held my hands next to his cheeks, not wanting to tough his blood.
“Why don't you start with holding my hand?” The prisoner wasn't afraid to use the power he had. I could feel Gaara sending warning waves of chakra towards us, but I had to comply. Hesitatingly I looked down at the broken hands and felt the urge to puke. Shivering I brought my left hand down just above his and blocked my senses before toughing him lightly. I could feel bones sticking out under a layer of blood that was staining my hand. The shivers got harder and I quickly pulled my hand from his. Looking at my fingers I felt my heart stop for a moment.
`So much blood!' I didn't dare to bring my hand close to my body. I was almost acting like it was infected with a deadly disease. A cough brought me back to the present and I knew the prisoner was waiting for the kiss. `At least there are no bones broken in his lips.' I tried to prep myself up again and again blocked my senses. Before my mind registered it my lips were connected with the blooding ones and I could feel a wind gust behind me. Now my senses were back I couldn't ignore what I was doing and felt the urge to puke triple. I threw myself on the ground the moment my stomach contains entered my mouth and threw it up on the stones.
“Bricks!” I heard the prisoner yell afraid and a squashing sound made the end of his life known. Refusing to look I kept my eyes on my stained hair and saw the blood spore I had made on the stones with my hand. Suddenly I felt arms around me and I got plastered against a large chest. Gaara's hand made me look into his eyes which seemed to be searching for something.
“Get her out of here!” Baki yelled and I felt someone kneel behind me.
“Gaara!” Kankuro's voice sounded a little pushy. The redhead released my chin and pressed me against him before sand surrounded us.
