Chapter 1:

“Sorry I'm late, but guess what?”

“What Sakura-chan?”

“My friend is coming to stay with me for a couple of months and if she likes it she just might decide to stay!” Sakura was beaming.

“You've got other friends than us Sakura-chan?” Naruto asked using his puppy-dog eyes.

“Yes as a matter of fact I do, Baka.” But instead of hitting him like she normally would, she leaned forward and kissed his forehead. She had grown up in the last two years, starting to seriously train herself and starting paying less and less attention to Sasuke.

Naruto was blushing furiously, even though he had grown and finally had gotten over his `love' for Sakura and had started dating Hinata.

“Ahh, Sakura-chan.”

“She's from America. Her name is Candice, and she's really sweet and funny and kind and kind of a bitch sometimes.”

“Now you're just being nice, I'm always a bitch.”

They all turned around to see a short dark redheaded girl that was around 17 years old, with pale skin, wearing a t-shirt, jeans and tennis shoes.

“Candice! You're already here? But I just got your message last night. We aren't really ready for a guest yet.”

She smiled, “Don't worry `bout it I can sleep on the floor.” She thought for a moment, “actually I'd prefer to sleep on the floor. Helps me sleep better.” She smirked.

`She's American?', both Sasuke and Naruto thought.

“So who are your friends, Sakura?” Candice asked inquiringly.

“Oh this is Sasuke-kun and Naruto-kun.” Sakura said gesturing to each of them.

“Oh so your boys.”

At this all three of Team 7 blushed furiously.

“No, no, no, no. My teammates and friends.”

Candice laughed.

“Oh, you thought I meant, No. I meant as in friends. Like I've got my boys back home that I totally have to keep in touch with.”

“Oh, well we better get you settled. Sasuke-kun, Naruto-kun would you like to come help Candice get acquainted with Konaha?”

“Sure that would be fun Sakura-chan. Is it alright with you Candice-chan?”

She nodded, and they started walking.

Although Candice was surprised, this boy had known her for less than 5 minutes and he was already calling her -chan. `Weird'

“Sasuke-kun?”

“Hmph” He followed behind.

-Two Hours Later-

`Poof'

“Yo”

Kakashi looked around but no one was there, but he did find a note.

Sensei,

Sorry we left but my friend just got here and I wanted to get her settled. If it's all right with you I'd like her to come to training tomorrow.

-Sakura-

`Friend? Hmm, this could get interesting.'

-Haruno Household: 3AM-

Everyone was sleeping peacefully. Everyone, except for Candice, she was tossing and turning.

`Why can't I go to sleep? I know I'm in a different country, away from my friends and everything that is familiar, BUT COME ON! ALL I WANT IS A COUPLE HOURS OF SLEEP!'

She stared at the wall for a couple of minutes trying to figure out what to do.

“I'm gonna take a walk.” `I mean come on, my room is on the first floor and no one is around it, if I was anyone else… man would they be in for a shocker. I mean Sakura's a good kid and all, but I'm like 3 years older than her and all of her friends. What were my parents thinking? I mean I know that I wanted to study abroad and with all the circumstances, but… AARGH! I need a walk.'

She listened to see if she heard anyone coming, and then looked out her window.

`Coast's clear'

She stepped out of her window after locking the door, and started walking. `I'll just tell them that I like my privacy and that I sleep like a rock' She giggled. `Now where to go? It's not like I know a lot of places here.'

She stopped walking and looked around, that's when she saw one of the many trees in Konaha, full in bloom, being a moonflower. “It's so beautiful.”

“It is isn't it?” A man's voice replied in the tree.

Candice's eyes widened.

“No need to be frightened. I guess we both had the same problem and then the same idea.”

Candice relaxed a little.

“So you're having trouble sleeping too? Mr.?”

“Yes, and please don't call me Mr., makes me sound old.” He jumped down so that they could both see each other in the moonlight.

`Beautiful' they both thought.

“Okay so then what do I call you? Mystery man that scared me at 3 in the morning?” She smirked.

He smiled “How about just Kakashi?”

`Kakashi, gorgeous.' She thought.

“Alright, Kakashi-kun.” She blushed.

“And you are?”

“Candice.”

`Candice, the name of an angel.' He thought.

“It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance Candice-chan.” He blushed.

“Why couldn't you sleep?”

“You really want to know?”

“If I didn't want to know, Kakashi-kun, I wouldn't have asked.” She gave a `duh' look.

He lay down by the base of the tree and she went over and lay with her head on his stomach.

`This feels nice' both of them thought.

“So?”

“Well, you see it's my student's, one girl and two boys. They well; they just can't seem to get into teamwork. One of the boys barely talks to anyone, the other talks to everyone, and the girl, well…”, He shrugged.

“You have no idea what's wrong with her, because you spend all your time with the boys.”

He looked down at her surprised.

“What?” She said with the innocent face on. “It's natural, you know how to connect with the boys, they've probably lost the people dear to them, unlike the girl, who probably still has her family intact.”

“How do you know all of that?”

“Call it women's intuition, plus I'm betting by your descriptions of the boys, that you're talking about Naruto and Sasuke and that would make the third mystery member Sakura.” She shrugged, “I'm staying at the Haruno household right now. My parents were friends with her parents, whole big thing.”

“So you're here to…”

“Study abroad.”

“Well, that's different. So you're gonna be around for awhile then?”

“If I like it.” She teased, “naw, but seriously, when my parents died, they left the Haruno's as my guardians.”

“I'm sorry. What happened, if you don't mind me asking?”

“I came home from work a couple of weeks ago, to find my whole family slaughtered. That's pretty much the jist of it.”

Kakashi was surprised, `She's so sweet, how does she deal with it?' “Sounds horrible, and it wasn't that long ago either. How are you dealing with it?”

“I'm dealing, I mean it's hard sometimes, but when was life easy?” She smiled, “okay enough of the morbidness. I've really gotten sleepy.” She yawned.

“Me too.” He yawned; at least she thought he yawned.

“So I guess I'll see you tomorrow? I mean if it's okay that I come and everything.” She got up.

“Yeah, it's fine. I can show you some tai-jutsu.” He said getting up.

“I'd like that.” She reached up and kissed him on his masked cheek. “Goodnight Kakashi-kun, and thank-you for staying up with me.” With that she ran off.

He smiled and reached up and touched his cheek.

“Goodnight Candice-chan.” He whispered.
