Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ Nine Tails, Two Hearts ❯ Chapter 6 ( Chapter 6 )
[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]
Disclaimer: I don own Naruto or any of the songs mentioned. I don't make any $ from this.
A/N: I'm gonna address some questions from reviews: I guess I'm not really following the manga. Naruto is seventeen almost eighteen. Yes, Hinata knows about Kyuubi, what she doesn't know about is that he talks to it in his head. I mean, who would brag about that? And yep, the amount of sleep is directly related to how talkative the 9-tail is. It's always there, but the insomnia makes it mouthier. Lmao. Also I said this fic is complete, but not completely posted yet. I changed it to WIP. I'm trying to get the rest of the chapters up. I'm currently writing two other fics and getting ready to co-author another. All while working eight hours a day, five days a week. Can we say full plate? Lmao So, please bear with me. I'm trying. As always thanks for reading, reviewing and rating. And did I mention my god awful writer's block I've been wrestling with? Lmao.

I was going to put the song at the end, but I changed my mind. ^_^
Dig-Incubus
We all have a weakness
But some of ours are easier to identify.
Look me in the eye
And ask for forgiveness;
We'll make a pact to never speak that word again
Yes you are my friend.
We all have something that digs at us,
At least we dig each other
So when weakness turns my ego up
I know you'll count on the me from yesterday
If I turn into another
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me
Sing this song
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone.
We all have a sickness
That cleverly attaches and multiplies
No matter how hard we try.
We all have someone that digs at us,
At least we dig each other
So when sickness turns my ego up
I know you'll act as a clever medicine.
If I turn into another
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me.
Sing this song!
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone.
Oh each other....
When everything
Else is gone.

Chapter 6
When Tenten saw Hinata heading towards her house, she let a big grin emerge on her face. She had a lot of stuff to ask her about. She opened her door and let her boyfriend's cousin in the apartment. "Hinata-sama, how long have you been back?"
"Oh, I got in late yesterday afternoon. I had to scramble to find a place to crash," the Hyuga heiress said. Tenten knew the whole messy story, so she wasn't quite as embarrassed.
"Pfft. Your dad's an ass, 'Nata. I mean what the hell? You're the damn heir! And he has you living on the damn streets. So fucking what you don't wanna settle down. You're not even eighteen yet," Tenten stopped to take a breath, "Anyway, do you need anything? I can give you anything but a place to stay." Tenten felt bad about the last part, but her apartment was barely big enough for her and Neji.
Hinata smiled at her cousin's girlfriend, "No, it's okay, really. Naruto-kun is letting me stay at his house." She felt her face turn pink.
Tenten's brown eyes widened in surprise. "Kiba is going to freak the fuck out! Does Neji know? Can I tell him? Sooo...tell me everything," laughed the weapons mistress.
"I don't care what Kiba thinks. No, he doesn't. Yes, you can. Don't be nosy. In that order," Hinata answered.
"PSH! You gotta tell me more than that, 'Nata," Tenten pouted to her friend.
Hinata looked at Tenten and leaned forward a bit. "He's chock full of awesome," she said trying not to burst out laughing. She loved to mess with the older jounin. She lost it when Tenten said, "Really? Is he really?"
The two girls chatted for awhile longer and then noticing the time, Hinata jumped to her feet. "Well, I'm glad you're doing well but I gotta go," she laughed going out the door.
Tenten touched her shoulder as she was stepping off the small porch. "Hinata, I'm really glad you and Naruto hooked up. It's about fucking time," she said laughing.
Hinata grinned at the older nin and started towards home.
****
It was after 6pm when she left Tenten's apartment. Where the hell did the day go? she wondered. The closer she got to the house, the bigger her smile got. Home finally!
"Oi Hinata-chan! Oi!"
No way, no fucking way! She was almost home, twenty more steps and she'd of been inside.
"Hinata-chan, why are you going to Naruto's place? Are you lost of something? My place is in the opposite direction," Kiba said to her with a goofy look on his face.
Hinata felt her headache coming back and rubbed her temples, "Kiba," she started to say. She saw Naruto step out of the backyard and sat down on the front steps. This confrontation was unavoidable.
"She lives here now, Kiba," Naruto said trying to keep his voice calm. {That piece of shit dog-nin. You should have destroyed him. Kit, I swear,} Kyuubi roared in his mind. Not now, he roared back.
Kiba looked a Hinata, who looked away. Something inside him snapped, "Really? How convenient. I'll bet that's all she's doing here. Tsch! Whatever, man. I'm outta here. Dude seriously, you picked that over me? All your taste must be in your mouth, Hinata-sama," he sneered at her.
Hinata's vision clouded red for a brief moment and then she found her tongue again. "Fuck you, Kiba! Don't fucking call me that, don't you ever call me that again," she said, shaking with rage and trying to fight the tears that were threatening to spill over. She looked at Kiba and he was smirking at her, she snapped again and the tears spilled over. "You just want to fuck me Kiba. Don't think I don't know. At least Naruto-kun has some respect for me. He's always stood up for me, unlike you, Kiba, who's supposed to be my team mate. Go fuck yourself!" she screamed at him.
Naruto pulled her out of Kiba's face and wrapped his arms around protectively. {Kit, he's asking for it. Knock him out, he disrespected your mate,} the fox hissed. Kami! Would you stop calling her that? he hissed back to the fox that lived inside of him. He turned his accusing glare towards Kiba, "You're about as smooth as sandpaper, dumbass. Go home." He watched the dog-nin walk away dejectedly. He almost, but not quite, felt sorry for the guy. He wiped Hinata's tears away and kissed her. "Let's go out back for awhile," he said.
****
They sat in the backyard and watched the sun setting. Naruto looked down at Hinata, who was curled up against him on the swing. He brushed a lock of hair away from her face causing her to give a contented sigh. He pushed against the ground with his foot moving the swing slightly. He looked over at his garden; it needed to be weeded. He sighed and rand his fingers through her onyx hair. "Hinata-chan, do you ever wonder what life would be like if we weren't shinobi?" the question slipped past his lips before he thought about what he was saying. {Good question, kit. What would we be doing? Working at the ramen shop?} the fox chuckled.
Hinata sat up and looked at him. He had a far away look in his blue eyes. She rested her head on his shoulder and sighed. "Can't say I've ever given it much thought. I don't know, probably sitting in some stupid clan meeting or something. Getting forced into an arranged marriage. Something like that," she said kissing him on his shoulder.
He considered her answer and felt the panic tug at his heart. "Are you promised to someone?" he asked trying to keep the panic out of his voice. He heard the melodic tinkle of her laugh.
"No silly, the clan rules state no kunoichi can be entered into an arranged marriage. It's bad for business, I guess," she said giggling once more.
He felt the relief wash over him. {Heh, heh. I guess we don't have to kill anyone then kit,} Kyuubi stated, having been privy to his thoughts. Oi, be quiet you, he told the fox. He touched her face, running his fingers across her lips. He hooked his fingers under her chin and tilted her face up towards his. "You're so beautiful," he said against her cheek. He brushed his lips over hers and kissed her, relishing the sigh of pleasure that escaped her mouth. He looked down at her, she was blushing.
She laid her head against his chest and listened to his heartbeat. "What would you be doing if you weren't shinobi?" she asked him fighting to keep her eyes open. His heartbeat was lulling her to sleep. She heard his thoughtful 'Hmm' and smiled when started stroking her hair. She gave in and closed her eyes.
He glanced down and watched her fighting to keep her eyes open. He knew she was fighting a losing battle. He chuckled and whispered in her ear, "I would have stolen you away from the village and made lots of babies with you." He brushed his lips against the skin just under her earlobe. He laughed when she snuggled closer and went 'Mmm'. "So, you're saying you want to have lots of babies with me?" he whispered ghosting his lips over her ear.
Suddenly what he was whispering broke through her subconscious and her eyes snapped open. "Nani?" she asked him. She heard him start laughing and sat up. It was darker out than she remembered; just how long had she dozed off?
"I haven't said anything in forever. You dozed off for about twenty minutes," he answered cringing a bit under her hard stare.
Hinata glared a bit more and sighed, "Fine, what was the last thing you said to me?"
Naruto looked away; he didn't want to repeat what he said now that she was irritated. "It was just a joke. It was stupid," he finally said glancing at her out of the corner of his eye. She didn't look happy about his lame answer. "Are you always this grouchy when you wake up, 'Nata-chan?" he asked trying to change the subject. {I really didn't want to interrupt, but maybe playing dumb is not a good idea right now, kit,} the fox hissed in his mind. "Not now," he growled. {Uh, kit...} Kyuubi started. "I don't need your mouth right now!" he growled a little bit louder. {Kit, listen to me for a second,} "No, just shut up! I don't want to hear anything you might have to say to me!" Naruto yelled.
Hinata had scooted away and now was standing a couple meters away from the swing. She wasn't really sure what was going on with Naruto right now. What she did know was he was not talking to her. She eased her way back to the house and sat on the porch for a moment watching the one sided argument continue. It was horrifying and yet she couldn't look away.
{KIT!} the fox yelled trying to get his attention. "Fuck you! You have nothing I want to hear!" he yelled, his voice cracking, "Just go away and leave me alone!" The fox sighed and tried another angle, {Kit, you're talking out loud. Hinata's gone. And you know I can't go away. Calm down a little.} Naruto looked over to his left, indeed the fox was correct she was gone. He felt the tears streaming down his face he looked up at the almost full moon and let out a bone chilling cry.
Hinata jumped when he yelled. She didn't know what she could do to help him. In the end, all she could do was mask her chakra and stay in the shadows of the porch listening to his anguished sobs.
***
She was wide awake now and had no idea how long she'd been sitting on the porch. All she knew it was long enough for her butt to go numb. Standing up, she decided to venture over to low wall around the yard where he was sitting. "Naruto-kun?" she called tentatively. Getting no answer, she touched his face. She jumped when his hand circled around her wrist and he pulled her close to him. She hugged him tight. She wasn't scared of him; she knew in her heart he would never hurt her.
He held on to her for dear life. "Gomen...gomen ne, Hinata-chan. I need to tell you about something," he whispered in her ear.
"It's the Kyuubi, isn't it? Does it speak to you?" she asked him pulling back so she could see his face. He looked away; she cupped his cheek and turned his face back towards her. "You can tell me. I won't judge you."
He looked into her opal eyes he could see she didn't have an ounce of fear of him; that was good. "Yeah, I haven't been sleeping very well. The fox is always there," he touched his navel and continued, "It's just been really mouthy lately. You probably think I'm nuts..." he trailed off.
She brushed her lips against his and smiled. "We're all a little mad here..." she said against his mouth kissing him.”Let's go to bed."
