chap 1. depending on how you guys like this story, differs weather i tear it down or not. so reveiw or i have no clue that you people like it.

Hiya minna-san! Ya know, I've been reading alot of Naruto fics lately, and

now have a love of "Smart-Naruto" fics. I think it's really stupid the way

everyone treats him as an inferior. I mean, Sasuke calls him dobe on a daily

basis. But when you think about it, Naruto's not stupid. He created his own

jutsu when he was still in the academy. Also, his dad was the 4th Hokage!

That's GOT to count for somthing!! I've never written a Naruto fic before,

so I figure, what the hell, why not? Do you guys even bother reading the

Author notes? Oh well.

The sun rose bright and early on the hidden village of Konoha.(sp?) Team 7

was to meet later that day.

(a few hours later)

Naruto yawned loudly. They were, as usual, waiting for their late sensei.

Sakura was leaning against the rail of the bridge trying not to fall asleep and

Sasuke was just standing off to the side.

Naruto looked all around the clearing from where he was perched on a tree

limb. "WHERE IS HE?!?!?!??!"

Sakura sighed. "Naruto, why do you have to be so loud this early in the

morning? Why can't you be more like Sasuke-kun?" she said sending Sasuke

a starry eyed look, which he ignored.

Naruto scowled. "Why would I wanna be a cold bastard?" Sakura growled at

him. "NARUTO!!! DON'T YOU DARE INSULT SASUKE-KUN!!!! WHY

I SHOUL-" She was cut off because their sensei appeared with a poof.

"YOU'RE LATE!!" Sakura and Naruto yelled.

Kakashi's one eye curved up in an innocent look. "I'm sorry. You see, there

was this little squirrel that was caught in a hunters trap and I felt so bad for

it's unfortunate accident, I freed it and took it home to nurse it back to

health."

"LIAR!!!"

Kakashi coughed. "Anyways, get to the usual training. Sakura go run 100

laps, Naruto go do 100 pushups, Sasuke 100 sit-ups. We switch in an hour."

Naruto glared. "And what will you do Kakashi-sensei?" Kakashi smiled under

his mask. "Me? I am so tired from taking care of the poor squirrel, I have no

choice but to sit and make sure you all do your training."

Naruto growled. "You mean, you are a lazy asshole and all your going to do

is read your stupid perverted book!" he yelled, pointing an accusing finger at

their masked teacher.

Kakashi facefaulted. "Of course not!! I have only the best interests at heart

for you all!!" But, we all know that reading his book is exactly what he's

gonna do.... Not that he's going to admit that mind you.

3 hours later, team 7 was finishing up the last bit of training. Sakura was

rubbing her back. When they did their push-ups, Kakashi had sat on their

backs holding a large rock. Kakashi smiled. "Alright!! Good job everyone.

Trainings over, you can go home now." He poofed out. Sakura walked away

muttering somthing about taking a hot bath. Sasuke walked off without a

word. Naruto stayed in the clearing.

He looked off to the river. "You can come out now. Everyone's gone."

A solitary ANBU dropped out of the trees. They walked over to stand beside

Naruto. A glove covered hand reached up to remove the rodent mask,

revealing the ANBU to be female about 23 years old. She smiled at Naruto

and sat on the grass. "Hey kid."

Naruto grinned and flopped down beside her. "Hiya Yuki. Did you just get

back from your mission?"

Yuki smiled and ran a hand through her brown hair that was pulled up into a

ponytail. "Yeah. I figured I'd drop in and say howdy before I went to report

to the old hag."

Naruto nodded. "You should go report in. I'm gonna head home." he stood

up.

Yuki stood up as well. She looked at Naruto with her light brown eyes.

"Actually, go to my house. Yo-chan wants to meet with us."

Naruto laughed. "Don't let Yonde-san hear you call her that. You'd better go,

don't wanna keep the old bat waiting."

Yuki smiled and ruffled his hair before putting her mask back on. "No lie.

Seeya." she poofed out.

Naruto jumped into the trees and started making his way to main city

Konoha. He ignored the glares of the villagers with the ease born of long

practice. He reached an apartment complex and jumped up to one of the 3rd

story windows. He put a kunai in the lock and channeled a small amount of

chakra through it. The window latch clicked open. He slipped in and locked

the window back.

He looked around the small apartment before flopping down on the small

couch and took a short nap.

Yuki's apartment had a living room, kitchen, bathroom, 2 bedrooms, and

another small room filled with weapons, scrolls, and other things important to

a ninja. The living room where Naruto was sleeping was painted tan with a

soft creame carpet. The couch was also tan, as were the curtains. The coffee

table in the middle of the room was a brown colored wood. The t.v. was on

a small stand in the corner. That was it except for a large potted plant on a

shelf beside the window.

Naruto sat up when he heard the front door open and close. He waved to

Yuki as she walked past the living room and into her room. She grinned and

waved back at him. "I'm just going to take a shower and change, then we can

go." Naruto nodded and settled back down on the couch.

Naruto woke out of his light doze when he felt someone poking him in the

side. "Yuki!! Stop that!" She laughed and sat beside him. "Well, I wouldn't

have to poke you if you woke up when I called your name."

She was now wearing a long sleeved fishnet shirt under a black tank top, and

a pair of baggy navy blue pants with ninja sandles. Her kunai pouch was

strapped to her leg. The ponytail was gone. Yuki's hair was left down,

reaching to about mid-back. The bandanna around her forehead was not the

standard leaf headband. Instead, she had a black one on with gold and red

leaves embroidered on it. The actual leaf band was tied around the bicep of

her left arm.

Naruto yawned and stretched. He sighed in content as he felt the bones in his

spine crack.

Yuki poked his side again. "Hey. You might want to get changed as well

Naruto. Unless you want to walk around in that evil orange jumpsuit all day."

Naruto picked at the sleeve of said evil jumpsuit. "Yeah, your right. I can't

belive this is all that damn store let me have. 'This is all there is in your size.

Sorry.' my ass. They just don't want the vessel of the Kyubbi to wear

anything even resembling acceptable."

Yuki grinned. "Don't sound so bitter. Besides, who cares what they think.

We both know Kyubbi isn't all that bad. And you aren't even the real demon

to worry about. Your 'oh shit' bag is in my room. You can change in there."

The 'oh shit' bag, as they called it, was actually a small suitcase. In it were

normal clothes in Naruto's size. Yuki bought them for him because if Naruto

went into the store himself, the employees would only let him buy copies of

the orange jumpsuit from hell. (hee hee)

Naruto came out a few minutes later dressed in much the same manner as

Yuki. Only, his pants were black, and he had a black jacket over his tanktop.

His leaf headband was on his forehead.

They both walked out of the apartment.

They sped over rooftops to get to the gate faster. They leaped off a building

into an ally. Naruto looked out into the street. "You should go ahead of me.

I'll follow in a few minutes." Yuki nodded at him. "Ok. Meet you in the

forest."

They did this because Naruto didn't want the villagers to see him and Yuki

together. They didn't recgonize Yuki without her mask and if they knew she

was his friend, Naruto was afraid that they would treat her as bad as they did

him. Yuki didn't think they would but hey, what's the point with arguing with

the stubborn fox?

10 minutes later, Naruto walked out. He walked through the open gate and

ignored the guards leering at him. He saw Yuki waving at him as he walked

into the treeline. They grinned at eachother and took off at a fast pace

through the woods. Yuki looked around and neither saw nor felt any other

nin. "I think this is far enough." Red chakra started to gather around her, and

her body started to change. Her brown hair was streaked with white, her eyes

turned red, and her teeth and nails grew long and sharp. Finally, whisker

marks, kinda like Naruto's, appeared on her face and a fluffy red fox tail

swung out behind her. "Ahhhh!!" She sighed happily as she stretched.

Naruto looked at her. "Only one tail this time Yuki?" She smiled at him.

"Yeah. It's eaiser than all nine I suppose..." They set off at a faster pace than

before.

A half hour later, they reached a clearing with a huge cave at on end.

Uncaring of how ominous it might look, they walked inside. Naruto cupped

his hands to his mouth. "YONDE-SANNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE'RE

HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Yuki winced. "I will bill you for the hearing aid I now require Naruto...." He

ignored her and kept on yelling.

After a few minutes, a giant grey fox stepped out of the darkness. By the

barely noticeable streaks in the otherwise grey fur, you could tell the kitsune

used to be black, but time takes it's toll after a while.

Greetings young ones.

Naruto bowed to the great wolf. "Hello Yonde-san. Yuki said you wanted to

see us."

This is true kit. Yukanna, tell Naruto your news.

Yuki bowed as well. "My name is Yuki....." she grumbled and turned to

Naruto. "Yo-chan and I think it's time for you to step up in your training with

us. You already know that we are here to help you in your education of

kitsunes, but now we think you can handle the strain that comes with shifting

of your own free will. Right now, all you do is shift forms when you and that

idiot brother of mine imprisoned in you feel vengeful.

Hey, it's not my fault the runt can only use my power when he's pissed

off.....

"Yeah well, nobody asked you idiot." Yuki growled. "It's your own damn

fault that you got sealed in the first place. Just be glad Naruto is taking the

time out of his day to learn a jutsu that will give you some manner of freedom

back....."

Naruto could feel Kyubbi shrinking back in his cage at his sisters wrath.

Yonde rolled her eyes. I'm getting too old for this...........

Yuki grinned. "Your not old..." She stopped when Yonde flared at her.

"Ok.... so maybe 582,630,411 years is a bit old, but your still kickin' aren't

ya? Anyway, Naruto, do the jutsu."

Naruto nodded. First, he made a clone of himself. Then, he transferred

Kyubbi's energy into it. The clones eyes and hair became red as Kyubbi's

conciousness filled it. Naruto could still feel the seal keeping them bonded.

"Hmm... You have improved Naruto." Kyubbi grinned, revealing sharpened

teeth.

Welcome back among the solid Kyubbi.

Yuki smiled and swung an arm around her brothers shoulders. "Yeah bro.

Though if you try to kill anyone, Naruto will pull the jutsu and you will be

stuck back in your cage. So don't screw up."
