Hey guys. This is chapter 2! It might be a bit before I can post this. I may have finished typing it, but I haven't posted it yet. Are you following? I just found out yesterday (1/5/06 was yesterday for me) that I have strep throat. Not fun. I'm lucky I've been awake this long. I slept all yesterday. On top of all that, Word is quitting out on me and now I have to write on the damn 'Wordpad' whichs royally sucks. It dosen't even have a spellcheck for gods sake!! (if it does, I can't find it...) GAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! I noticed when I posted chapter 1, the text was all squashed off to the side. I'll try to do something about this but I cannot promise results. Don't kill me. Please excuse any minor spelling errors. Not my fault! Thank-you. On with the fic! Same speech rules apply.

Yuki and Kyubbi stood off to the side talking in a private mind-to-mind conversation. Naruto and Yonde were at a loss as towhat they were saying.

 

"I think they're talking about how to get rid of us....." Naruto grumbeled.

 

I actually think your right on this one kit.

 

Yuki stood up. "We've come to a decision!" She chirped happily. "Kyubbi has agreed not to maime, maul, murder, and otherwise freak out the general population of Konoha if-"

 

Naruto rolled his eyes. "Here we go........ "

 

Yuki glared at him and continued. "As I was saying, Kyubbi agreed to it if Naruto gave him a bit more free time."

 

"It's entirely up to you Naruto. I would like some 'free time' as Yuki put it, for lack of a better word, but it's not like I can actually do anything with you ready to pull the plug at a moments notice." Kyubbi added his two cents.

 

Yuki slapped him with her tail. "Be nice!"

 

Naruto thought about it. "That sounds like a fair exchange. But you can't be seen by anyone! If somebody saw you, chances are one of the smarter residents of Konohagure(*coughshikamarucough*) would make the connection that you are the same Kyubbi that destroyed most, if not the entire, village. They wouldn't care if they knew the real you or not. And if that happened, Tsunade would freak out, ANBU would raid my apartment, and the whole space-time-continueum would flop and the universe as we know it would cease to exist."

 

Kyubbi stared. "And that would be bad because....?"

 

Naruto sweatdropped. "It means I would be brought out to the streets and shot. And when I die, you die dumbass."

 

Kyubbi bristled. "Why you arrogant little--!"

 

Yuki leaned over to speak with Yonde without being heard by the other two. "You would never know they were best friends the way they act..."

 

Too true. If you didn't know them like we do, you would have thought they hated one another.

 

Naruto and Kyubbi stopped bickering. "Ne Yuki?" Naruto looked at her.

 

"What?"

 

"Didn't you have something to do for Tsunade tomorrow?"

 

Yuki slapped her forehead. "Shit!! I have a mission tomorrow!!!! I'll see ya in a week. Bye guys!" She poofed out in a puff of the grey smoke that accompanies the use of teleportation justus.

 

If her mission is tomorrow, why is she leaving now?

 

"So she can get as much sleep as humanly possible." Kyubbi and Naruto said simultaniously.

 

"Woah.... That was weird......" Naruto said scooting away from the humanoid fox.

Kyubbi pulled a face. "I have been bonded to you far longer than I would have liked. But yes, that was weird."

 

Yonde shook her head. It is getting late. You both should go as well.

 

Naruto nodded and stood up. "Right. Kyubbi, I'll let you out when we get back to the village. More specifically, my apartment." Kyubbi's form faded out and was gone as Naruto pulled the jutsu.

"What do you need Yonde-san?"

 

I want you to be careful in the village. Some people still don't feel as kindly to you as we do, even after all these years.

 

Naruto nodded. "Don't worry. I'm used to it by now." He smiled and walked off out of the caves.

 

Yonde stared after him even as he left her line of sight. I still worry about you kit...

Naruto walked back through the village. He was thinking about what Yuki had ment when she said he would be working with her and Yonde-san more.

Ino stood in front of her family's flower shop chatting with Sakura. They still competed with eachother for Sasuke's affection, but they have become good enough friends to the point where they could hold a civilized conversation. Until Sasuke walked by that is. Then it changed into open season.

 

"The mission wasn't that hard actually. It would have been easier if Naruto hadn't gotten in the way though." Sakura sighed.

 

Ino looked thoughtful. "My teammates don't do stuff like that." She blinked. "Heyy...." She craned around Sakura.

 

"What?"

 

Ino pointed. "That guy that just passed us. He's hot. Not like Sasuke-kun but still...."

 

Sakura looked in the direction Ino pointed. "I don't see him."

 

Ino pulled Sakura's hand. "Well, lets see if we can find him!" They grinned and took off.

 

"There he is!" Ino exclaimed. Sakura blinked. "Wow. He is hot!"

 

An old woman walked by them heading right to the boy the two girls were staring at.

 

"Naruto!" The old lady finally caught up to him.

 

Ino and Sakura facefaulted. "THAT'S NARUTO!?!?!?!" Ino clapped a hand over Sakura's mouth. Luckily for them, Naruto and the old lady hadn't noticed them. Ino pulled Sakura over behind a conveniently placed dumpster. "Shhh!! I want to hear what their saying!"

Naruto turned around. "Yonde-san! What are you doing here?!?!"

 

Yonde was wearing the guise of an old woman. " Don't look so surprised. I do walk around the village every once in a while kit. But that's not why I'm here. It seems one of our friends needs a place to stay. He can't stay with me for obvious reasons." (she lives in a cave XP)

 

Naruto waved her off. "Be specific. We have alot of friends."

 

Yonde sighed. "The one with the eye problems. He needs somewhere to stay for a while."

 

"Ah. Is it safe for him here? He dosen't get along too well with the villagers."

 

"Neither do you."

 

"Point taken. Sure. I can put him up for a while. My apartment is too small, but my house has alot of room. When will he be here?"

 

Yonde smiled and clapped her hands. "Excellent! He gets here next week. Don't you already have a house guest?"

 

Naruto nodded. "Yeah. But he won't be there for much longer. He only needed a place to crash until he saved up enough yen to rent a decent sized apartment. One more A-rank mission should do it."

 

Yonde sighed. "Kit, you are to nice for your own good. It's gonna get you killed one of these days."

 

Naruto grinned. "Yeah. But I'll have completed my training with you and Yuki before I do."

 

Yonde snapped her fingers. "That reminds me! I need to get back at Yuki for that 'Yo-chan' comment."

 

Naruto sweatdropped. "I was wondering when you were going to get revenge...."

 

Yonde smiled and hugged him. "I need to go and find Yuki's apartment. I shall bring word to our guest. Take care of yourself."

 

Naruto waved. "Bye!" He spun on his heal and walked off in the direction he was going before. I wonder if I should tell Sakura and Ino that I know they heard. Nah. If they can't learn to mask their chakra, I'm not gonna point it out to them. They'll get killed if they don't learn though....

Sakura sighed and slumped back. "Woah... I didn't know Naruto had a house... I always thought he was a moron."

 

Ino just sat there. "I didn't know dead-last Naruto looked so good under that ugly jumpsuit. Maybe we've been misjudging him this whole time?"

 

"No. He's still an idiot." Ino and Sakura nodded and walked back to the flower shop.

Naruto headed toward his house in the woods. He sped through the trees at a blurring pace. The house he stopped in front of was a 2-story brick structure. Naruto pulled out a key and went in. "Hideki! I need to talk to you!"

 

Naruto walked into the living room where he found the brown haired man. "Yo. Listen, do you mind if I stick ya with another person? A friend of mine needs a place to stay for the time being."

 

Hideki stood up. "Go ahead. It's your house. I think I finally have enough yen to get an apartment!"

 

Naruto smiled. "That's great! For a wolf, you do pretty good for yourself!"

 

Hideki grinned. "Hey, watch it fox. By the way, isn't Yonde-san going to teach you how to shift?"

 

Naruto nodded. "Yeah. How did you figure it out?"

 

Hideki grinned and pointed. A small wolf cub crouched behind a chair. It ran a jumped on Naruto.

 

Naruto smiled and caught the cub. "Uo-chan! I thought somebody was listening in on my conversation with the other kitsune."

 

The cub yipped. Sorry. Naruto-niisan. I didn't mean to overhear. Was I not supposed to tell Tousan?

 

Naruto grinned and scratched the tiny wolf's fur. "It's okay. You didn't mean anything by it." He handed the small furball to Hideki. "Heh heh. Take your kid."

 

Hideki laughed. "Aw come on Naru-kun. Ya know you like her."

 

Naruto grinned. "Yeah, but I'm not gonna admit that."

 

Hideki grinned. "You just did."

 

Naruto covered Uo's ears and let loose a stream of curses that made Hideki laugh all the more.
