Chapter 1

Leaving

 

“But why do I have to go?” Haoku cried

 

“Haoku please there's a war and all we want is for you to be safe.” Yaku said

 

“She's right Haoku, now go!” Koichi yelled

 

“But father, I have the strength and courage to fight in the war!” Haoku yelled back

 

“Haoku, never say things like that, you'll only get in the way!” Her father cried

 

Haoku stared at her father through hurt eyes. “You don't trust me!?! Fine then I guess I will take my leave then. Good bye mother, good bye father, Arashi, and Akane.” Haoku grabbed her suitcase and calmly stepped through the portal into the past where her parents claimed she would be safe.

 

“Yaku, are you going to be ok?” Koichi murmured

 

“I think so, how about you Koichi?” She asked back through eyes that were glazed over with tears.

 

He sighs. “ I'll be fine knowing she's safe, now let's go.” Koichi lead his family to the battle ground, the men with their hands resting on the hilts of their swords as the women looked through their medical supplies.

 

 

“Ok . . . I'm lost where's the exit in this dang place!?!” She continues to search for an exit out of the portal that she is in. “Ah that looks like the exit.” She runs up to a small hole in the portal and next thing she knew she was falling from about 150 feet in the air. “Agghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!”

 

“Hey Itachi, what's that up there?” Kisame asked pointing to Haoku who was screaming `I DON'T WANNA DIE!!!' over and over again “A bird? If it's a bird then it's one annoying one.”

 

Itachi looks at Haoku's direction with the mengenkyou sharingon. “Kisame, it's a girl.”

 

“Oh, just a girl . . .ITACHI A GIRL!?! GET UP THERE AND SAVE HER!” Kisame yelled the blue coloring from his face draining and his eyes becoming as large as watermelons.

 

“Why can't you?” Itachi questioned in his monotone voice, cold as ever.

 

“Sharks don't fly now go!” Kisame answered smartly

 

Itachi sighs. “Fine” He leaps up in the air in an attempt to save Haoku

 

“Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!”(((H aoku)))

 

“HEY, YOU CAN STOP SCREAMING NOW, YOU'RE SCREAMING IN MY EAR FOR NUMBER ONE AND FOR THE SECOND THING WE'RE ON THE GROUND!” Itachi yelled obviously angered

 

Haoku looks around and notices the stranger's telling the truth then she notices that she's still cradled in his arms. “Um …can you put me down now?”

 

Itachi drops Haoku to the ground.

 

“I said put me down not drop me!”

 

Kisame laughs cruelly.

 

“Listen girl I don't know who you are and I really don't care …but tell me… why you were falling from the sky …” Itachi interrogated her rudely.

 

Haoku sighs “I'm from the future, there's a war in my time so my parents sent me back here so I'd be safe.”

 

“Why didn't you fight in the war?” Itachi asked looking down at her like she was crazy for refusing the chance to shed blood.

 

“Because my parents don't trust me when in reality I'm stronger than them!”

 

“Tough break kid, anyway I'm Kisame and over there …” Kisame said pointing to Itachi. “… Is Itachi.”

 

“Oh, thanks Itachi-san.” Haoku said kindly as she smiled.

 

Itachi turns away after giving her a glare of disapproval.

 

“What's wrong with him?” Haoku cried standing up and dusting the dirt from her rear.

“He's always like that, you get used to it after while.” Kisame whispered to the young girl standing beside her.

 

"Yeah … I kinda noticed.” Haoku said a little annoyed.

 

“Kisame are you coming?” Itachi asked not looking back.

 

“Yeah Itachi be there in a second.”

 

“Where are you guys going?” Haoku asked

 

Kisame opens his mouth to speak.

 

“Don't say it Kisame, she doesn't need to know.” Itachi ordered

 

“I don't need to know what?” Haoku asked trying to join the conversation but failing miserably.

 

“Come on Itachi she can come back with us, please she has no place to go.” Kisame tried to persuade him.

 

Itachi sighs and starts to walk away with Kisame following. “Are you coming or not?”

 

Haoku smiles and runs to catch up to Itachi and Kisame.

 

Kisame smiles back at the young girl. “To the-.”

 

Itachi gives him a cold glare making him cut off his sentence.

 

“… house!” Kisame manages to mutter.

 

Haoku couldn't help but feel a little strange around these two. She knew something was amiss … they were keeping something from her. “You two … live together?”

 

“Yes … but there are others … we're not-.” Kisame said in a rush.

 

“We live in a place far away from any one else there are very few others.” Itachi interrupted again.

 

“Where do you guys live?” Haoku asked not being able to hold back her question any longer.

 

“Uh … um …” This was the first time Kisame had second thoughts about answering one of her questions.

“We'll camp out here for tonight.” Itachi said as he saw the sun start to set.

 

 

“I'll get the fire wood and some thing to eat.” Kisame said as he walked off.

 

Itachi took off his cloak and cone shaped straw hat before he sat down.

 

Haoku noticed the ring on his right ring finger and read it out loud; “Suzaku … what's that for?”

 

Itachi moved his hand out of her sight. “It's none of your concern.”

 

“You certainly are a loner …” She said as her voice trailed off.

 

“Listen girl is it true you came from the future or not because I don't have time to be playing your little games.”

 

“I'm not lying and why do insist on calling me `girl', I have a name you know.”

 

“Don't get smart with me little girl.” He said not even trying to annoy her

 

“LISTEN MY NAME I HAOKU HAMAGICHI, AND IF YOU CALL ME GIRL ONE MORE TIME I SWEAR TO MY LIFE I WILL KILL YOU!” Haoku yelled as loud as she could, jumping up in frustration.

 

“Haoku … Hamagichi …” Itachi mubled

 

~flash back~

 

“I'm not destined to be with you Itachi … I know who is though … her name is Haoku Hamagichi … my daughter … I've seen into the future and there will be a war … my husband and I will-.”

 

~end flash back~

 

(((Authors Note: The third Hokage revived Itachi after his incident a few days after Yaku had gone on her own)))

 

“Hey … um … Itachi-san …” Haoku asked as she waved her hand in front of his face. “Are you ok?”

 

Itachi grabbed her wrist in a way that made it look like he was going to break it. “Don't you ever do that again!”

 

Instead of showing fear and backing down like most of Itachi's other helpless victims she glared back at him daring him to try and do it.

 

He dropped her wrist and looked away. “It's pointless, you're not worth it.”

 

She rolled her eyes and grinned. “You're just scared.”

 

“Of what?”

 

“That you'll be beaten by a girl … oh wait, a correction `girl'” She said just to tease and taunt him.

 

He turned and looked at her his eyes forming a sharp glare.

 

Haoku started dancing around making chicken clucks. Next thing she knew Itachi had her pinned against a tree with a kunai to her neck.

 

Kisame was just walking back to the scene with a pile of logs in his arms which he dropped the second he saw what was going on.

 

Uh ohwe're not even into the second chapter and Haoku's gfotten her self into troubly, she may look like her father but personality wise, she's just like her mommy, any way find out of Kisame helps her or hurts her in the next chapter of
