Sasuke struggled at the bindings that kept his hands painfully locked behind the back of the hard plastic chair that had been nailed to the ground. With the wait on his front there was no way of escape if he couldn't free his hands.

`Ah ah ah,' came the cool playful tune of his captor, `I wouldn't struggle with those if I was you.' The boy growled in his ear and shivers ran down every inch of Sasuke, right to his most sensitive areas.

`Let me go.' The Uchiha slowly demanded.

`Is that what you really want?'

`I swear to the gods Naruto if you don't let me go...' But he couldn't finish his sentence as Naruto lightly licked the side of his check and began to nibble on his ear.

`You were saying.'

`get off.' Sasuke tried to growl out but it merely came out as a quiet whine, which made Naruto chuckle. Then the blond started kissing his way down his captives neck and across his bare chest. Sasuke thought he was on fire, all he wanted to do was free his hands and wrap his fingers in that lush blond hair, all thoughts of escape had left him. And still Naruto continued his dissent down. Stopping every now and again to kiss Sasuke's skin until it bruised.

`Naruto!' The uchiah moaned, over and over.

`OY, dipshit.' Suddenly Sasuke was being shaken awake.

`I really hate you.' He growled as he rolled over to see Sora scowling at him.

`It's your shift.'

`You couldn't have given me five more minutes.' The Uchiha grumbled as he climbed out of his warm sleeping bag and got ready to go on watch.

`No. And I don't think you really wanted Naruto arriving back to find you like that did you?'

`What?' Sasuke whipped round. What had Sora heard? Had he been talking in his sleep? Oh this was not happening.

`It doesn't need repeating.' Sora glared down on the Uchiha. `All that matters is that you keep your sick fantasies to yourself. Leave Naruto alone.' The young monk ordered.

`Why? Because you want him for yourself?!'

`No, because I don't want him messed up in whatever you're up too, and I know what you're like.'

`You don't know anything.' Sasuke grabbed the front of Sora's jacket. `You've heard a few stories and now your an expert.'

Yes, I was very interested in the one where you tried to kill him. Naruto's like a brother, so if you so much as...'

`Hey guys what ya...' Naruto stopped mid sentence as his brain adjusted to what he was seeing. `Sasuke get off him.' The blond shouted. `What the hell do you think you're doing? You're not supposed to pick fights with the client.'

Sasuke immediately dropped the annoying monk and grabbed the rest of his warm stuff, kicking Sai as he moved to get out of the tent.

`Get up, it's our watch.' He pushed passed the blond to angry to make any comment or ask Sora to keep quiet.

`Are you ok?' Naruto asked Sora as he came further into the tent.

`Yeh I'm fine, just a little miss understanding. Nothing to worry about.'

`If you're sure. Man I am beat.' The blond started pulling off layers. `Ok get up Sai it's your watch.'

I heard, I'm going out.' The quiet teen popped his head out from between layers of blankets, hair all over the place and eyes half closed. `ooo a strip show I think I'll stay here.'

`Get out Sai.' Naruto kicked him in the side and continued getting ready for bed.

Sai crawled out of his bed as Sora climbed into his. The artist pulled on scattered clothes in no particular order and went to leave the tinny tent. `have a good time.'

`Sai.' An angry growl followed him into the cold night. He looked around and spotted the Uchiha standing by a large tree a few meters away.

`So Sasuke you were thrown from the tent by lover boy.'

`Shut up Sai. Let's just get this over with, you take this tree and I'll patrol the perimeter back by the old woman shaped rock we saw earlier.'

`Are you sure you want to leave lover boy alone with his friend.' Sai enforced the word friend nudging thin air so as not to give Sasuke any chance of grabbing him.

`Sai you should know when to shut your fucking mouth.'

`Don't worry , I wont tell Naruto about your wonderful dream.' Sasuke stopped breathing , Sai had heard. `Well not just yet.'

`What are you going to do?' Sasuke whispered, fear flooding through him.

`Nothing at the moment but if you're not careful soon I won't have to keep this secret .'

`Don't fucking tell him.' Sasuke was trying not to get angry.

`Now now Uchiha, it won't look good if you murder a team mate on your first mission.'

`I'm warning you Sai if you say anything at all... I like how things are at the moment and I'm not going to change things.'

`You're so blind.' Sai mumbled. `Well I'm off to the outpost.' He declared as he bounded off before Sasuke could stop him.

The Uchiha was left to watch over the site and to think about what Sai had said. Should he really tell the dobe his true feelings? No he couldn't, it would ruin everything. Sasuke was sure Naruto could never love him too. He just needed to keep it bottled up. But what had Sai meant when he Sai `Soon I won't have to keep this secret', was he going to blab or was it Sora he needed to worry about? Sasuke was getting to have to make sure no one said anything.

The last Uchiha looked down on the tinny tent below as a cold breeze ran through the tree he was using as his looking post. He couldn't help but shiver at the temperature of the night.

`Cold?' Naruto asked Sasuke looked up in surprise.

`What are you doing here? You should be resting. I know what you're like without any sleep, even more useless than normal.'

`Hey I came to keep you company out of the goodness of my heart.'

`Well I'm fine.' Sasuke growled.

`Fine if you don't want my company be a prick about it, I'll go.' The blond shouted. `But seeing as this is your first official watch in a while, thought I could help out.'

`I'm not some baby you constantly need to keep watch over.'

`I know. Maybe I was just trying to lend a hand.'

`Well I don't need it.'

`I knew I shouldn't have listened to Sora.'

`What?'

`Sora told me to go talk to you.'

`The basted.' Sasuke mumbled to himself. `What did he say?'

`Just it would do us some good to have a talk and now was the perfect time I didn't know what h meant but he fell straight to sleep so I thought I'd just come up here.'

`That was all he said?' The blond nodded in response. `Why did you come up here?'

`You're such a prick.'

`I bet it's because Sora fell asleep and your afraid of the dark.'

`That's not true, Naruto Uzumaki is not afraid of anything.'

`Oh come on I've seen your night light.' The raven haired boy laughed.

`Shut up.' Naruto grumbled as he dropped beside his friend.'

The tension was suddenly gone like the argument had never happened. Both boys would agree that this was the best thing about their current friendship. That the felt so at ease with each other that arguments never lasted long.

`You know your an idiot right.' Sasuke said as he scanned the surrounding.

`Oh yeh and whys that?' The blond grumbled as he wrapped his blanker round himself.

`What kind of idiot would choose to spend his resting time up in a tree.'

`Only the best ninja in the village don't need sleep, I can last for days.'

`Well I'm not carrying you when you collapse tomorrow.'

`Who asked you to.'

`Fine I wont.' Sasuke smiled to himself, happy to have the company.

The two sat in comfortable silence for a while, scanning the surrounding and huddling for warmth. Until Sasuke felt something heavy on his shoulder.

`I wonder why Sora said we should talk.'

`Don't Know!' Sasuke forced himself to sound like he didn't care but really he wanted not to get onto this topic.

`He thinks he's so wise and knows all but he's more of an idiot than you are.' Naruto Snorted out.

`Really.' Sasuke growled.

`Yeah, like the first time I met him he was always getting into trouble and I fixed everything.' Naruto spread his arms out in front of himself as if gesturing to all the deed he had done for his poor friend.

`You sure it wasn't the other way round?' the Uchiha raised an eyebrow, teasing his old friend. `Its just as I remember you've always been more of a trouble causer than fixer.'

`Fuck off. I got you out of more than one scrape.'

`Ha, name one.'

`Well... errr... umm... there was that time... err.. its hard to think of one just on the spot.'

`Yeh it's real hard.'

`I saved you from the Akatsuki in the end.' Naruto announced.

`Yeh you did.' Sasuke whispered as he stared off into space, thinking of the fight with his brother.

They sat for a few minutes, now in not such comfortable silence.

`Geeze I didn't mean to upset you.'

`Don't worry you didn't.'

`Let's just forget it, I saved you when fought against Gaara that time, remember.'

`You saved Sakura.'

`And you.'

`Like you even thought of it like that, You wanted her to notice you so much back then, what happened there?'

`You mean you've never heard the story?' Sasuke had but he shook his head any way, knowing that the tail he'd heard was not the whole story. `It was all going well until I got drunk at Choji's birthday, and ended up in bed with Ino, this is before they got together. And that's how I screwed up. Apparently.'

`Apparently?'

`Yer,' Naruto nodded, `I remember drinking and having a good time, walking with Ino, then it's just blank, next thing I know is a dogs licking my face, I'm outside in the dirt on market day. It was embarrassing, I wasn't wearing trousers, but then who wouldn't want to look at these fine legs.' The blond just started laughing.

`So you don't remember anything?'

`Nah, just being told I was found in bed with my girlfriends best friend.' He started ripping leaves of a twig beside him.

`So how do you Know it even happened.'

`Don't, but what you gunna do.'

`Weren't you pissed. Didn't you want to ...'

`Look it's all in the ancient history, nothing to worry about, Sakura broke up with me and there was nothing I could do about it. To tell you the truth I don't think my heart was really in it, my hearts never really in it, no matter who I'm in a relationship with.' Naruto had finished stripping the leaves off the twig and was now swinging it about like a pretend sward.

`What an idiot.'

`Huh?! You want her?'

`No! I'm quite fine, she's... not my type. Plus I don't think she's into me anymore.'

`could have fooled me you seemed pretty close. You keep whispering together.' There was a tension to the blonds voice that Sasuke realised hadn't been there before.

`What's wrong?'

`Nothing.' He huffed.

`Are you jealous?' Sasuke asked chuckling. He remembered Naruto's jealousy when they were younger all because the girls had had eyes for the Uchiha over all the other boys.

`No.' Spluttered out the young man beside him. `Why would I be jealous of her?'

`What? I never said of her.' The Uchiha was shocked, his heart was pounding and his mind was racing so hard he couldn't keep track of what was going on.

`I... I...' Naruto had gone bright red and was staring forward. `I didn't say anything.'

`Yes you did...'

`I didn't.' He shouted. `I'm going to sleep, we have a long day tomorrow and I need rest.' And with that the blustered blond ninja jumped down from the tree and ran back to the tent.

Sasuke watched him leave and his eyes stayed on the small tent for a while. What had that been? What did the sentence mean? Be jealous of her, had it been a slip of the tongue and really his friend had meant to say you but just got the two words jumbled, it happened to people all the time. But then why has Naruto reacted like that, people don't react like that for a word mix up. So did that mean Naruto liked him? The thought made Sasuke's already speeding heart fasten, it was pounding against his chest. Did his friend see him as more than he had assumed he did? Did he want what Sasuke longed for? No Sasuke told himself. It couldn't mean that, he was getting ahead on himself and that would simply lead to things getting messed up. But maybe he should test it to see if there was more there then he originally thought.

Naruto was mentally throttling himself for what he had just done. He wasn't even shore of his own feelings for his team mate yet and here he was splurging out things that would be misinterpreted. All he could hope was that Sasuke would have completely forgotten. Like that would ever happen the basterd had the memory of five elephants especially when it came to things he could teas the blond about. This was not good.

But why had he said it anyway, it had just come out without any thought, without any input from the part of his brain that had kept him alive over his life. And he knew that he was getting strange feeling every time he saw the Uchiha, it was unlike any of his relationships. A shot of electricity shot through him every time their eyes met and he was getting the strangest urges when the two got to close. This wasn't normal maybe he was coming down with something, that had to be it and that was why he had said something so weird. Yes that was it, that's all he had to say. But a little voice right at the back of the blonds head whispered oh if only that was true.

Its been longer than I had expected between updates but I had a bit of trouble with a broken bed then I started Uni and it really throws you in at the deep end hehe.
