Tenten yawned as she leaned back in the chair at the hospital, placed between Neji and Lee's rooms. She came to see them even when they weren't awake, just to be sure they didn't forget about her. Also so she could give an excuse for herself to not be training that time instead.

Poking his head in through the door Gai spied his team all together. Pulling the door open further he made his way in, careful to avoid loud noises and disturb the rest of his precious students. "Good morning Tenten!" he greeted in a mere whisper of his usual exuberant voice.

Tenten's foot shot out to catch against the table edge so she wouldn't fall backwards in her chair, surprised at the sudden entrance of their sensei. She grinned up to him, happy, whole. "Ah, sensei! Neither of 'em are up yet, they looked like they were sleeping so peacefully, I didn't have the heart to shove 'em like I was planning on doing to wake them up."

Smiling Gai grabbed the back of her chair and set it in its proper position. "Two students in hospital are bad enough Tenten. I don't need you to make it three." Turning to look at the two boys he asked quietly. "How are they today?"

Moving as fluidly as water, Tenten turned in her chair to sit in it backwards, facing the two boys and Gai. "Same. Not one hundred percent healthy, but alive and better than originally expected. All we can ask for, right?" she paused to take in their teacher's appearance. "...You okay, sensei?" she asked, quietly.

“Eh?" Perplexed Gai turned to his female student again. "Why do you ask?" Running a hand through his hair, that was still slightly ruffled from sleep since he hadn't bothered to stop by his own apartment before racing to the hospital, Gai attempted to smooth out the rebelling strands while not being TO obvious about it.

Tenten gave him an unamused stare. "...You aren't wearing your uniform." was all she said. There were other things, of course, but that had to be the most distinctive thing and she thought that would get her point across well enough.

Tugging at the collar of the borrowed shirt Gai gave a weak smile. "I'm having it cleaned?"

Eyes drawn to the area of the collar, Tenten took notice of the mouth-shaped bruises there. Her eyebrows shot up. "...AH." she said, not refuting Gai's claim but clearly beginning to figure out the truth of the matter.

"You're here early." Trying to change the topic away from himself Gai mustered Tenten. "Is everything alright, with you?"

Tenten shrugged, stretching her arms upwards. "Housecleaning time of the year. I already got my part done, but I can't just flee to the attic to hide like normal, so I just had to get out of the house to retain my sanity."

Grinning Gai teased her "I'm sure they'll appreciate the emotion behind your visit then." Just this small exchange of words with Tenten and the steady breathing of the boys in the beds behind him put him at ease. Not completely, for that he would have to wait until they were once again released from the hospital, but it did a lot to ease his frazzled nerves. :"I'm glad everything is on the way back to normal."

Tenten leaned against the back of the chair. "Mmhmm..." she paused for a moment before grinning "We get to suspend training until they're better, right?"

Throwing his lazy student a scolding look Gai shook his head. "You should not see this as an opportunity to neglect your training Tenten. After all once they are released they will have to train even harder to make up for the time they lost. Of course you can always join them in their training program..." he trailed of ominously.

Tenten let out a disappointed sound that was not unlike a whine. "Gai-sensei! We're already years ahead of other students in our grade! And I always do my morning practice every day regardless!" truth be told, she just didn't think she could handle one-on-one training with Gai-sensei. That man had too much energy. She needed Lee to be used as a nice comfortable buffer between her and their excitable teacher.

"Nonsense. You're a kunoichi Tenten. You should know that one can never be to far ahead of ones opponents." He admonished her, restraining from giving her a little whack to make her see his point. "I think this is the perfect opportunity for the two of us to work with each other. I feel like I may have been neglecting you somewhat over the years."

Tenten raised a sceptical eyebrow again, giving Gai a sidelong glance. "Not really." she said. "No more than anyone else, anyway."

"Well since you are MY student and not anybody else's I will have to rectify that. I expect you tomorrow at the trainings area, same time as usual. We'll begin then." Resolute, Gai nodded. All his students would be able to tell that there was no changing his mind once he had firmly set upon a course of action.

Letting out a long suffering sigh, Tenten knew it was pointless to argue at this point. "Yeaaaaaah okaaaaay. But can we at least take an extra-long lunch since I'll be having to train three times as hard without Neji or Lee there?"

“Fine." Satisfied with that compromise, Gai nodded. "Say hi to the boys for me. I have a few.... errands to run before training." Throwing a last smile at the three he left, as quietly as he had come.
