“Naruto!” Temari shouted as she ran to catch up with said boy.
“Hey, Temari” Naruto grinned as the skater queen began walking with him.
“Did you hear Sasuke dropped out of the skating contest?” Temari asked, getting a shocked and angered expression from Naruto.
“THE TEME DID WHAT!?” Naruto shouted.
“Yeah I was hanging with Kankuro at the skate park when he went up and scribbled his name off the entry list.”
Naruto was fuming at this point. How could Sasuke do this! Ok, so the contest was in a week, maybe he was nervous and chickened out? But he was suppose to enter just like Naruto was entering the band competition!
“Hey, Naruto, want to come with me and Shikamaru to get a bite to eat?” Temari asked as the two stopped at the different roads leading from Naruto’s apartment and down town.
“Nah, I learned my lesson the first time I went with you two” Naruto was referring to the time he went with the two for some curly fries and they ended up making out by the fry stand.
“Oh you baby” Temari joked before going down the street towards town.
Naruto chuckled before heading home. Different reasons Sasuke might have dropped out of the contest came into his mind. Or maybe he didn’t drop out! Maybe I was just some look alike, ya that must be it!
“Naruto!” Naruto stopped and turned to see a smirking Sakura running up to him.
“Sakura?” Naruto asked, completely confused as the girl stopped in front of him.
“So…how are you and Sasuke-kun?” she asked with a look that seemed like she was waiting for something. Must have been something good to make her this excited.
“Um….we’re fine. Why?” Naruto asked back, arching a thin brow in question.
‘Sasuke-kun hasn’t told him yet!!’ Sakura thought angrily as her smirk turned into a shocked expression to a completely pissed one. “I HATE YOU!” she shouted and ran off.
Naruto stared as the pink haired girl ran away, a completely dumbstruck look on his face.
“Nothing new I guess” he shrugged before walking back towards home.
As soon as Naruto walked into his apartment, the phone went off. Naruto walked over and picked it up and asked, “Hello?”
“Hey, Naruto!!” Naruto recognized Kiba’s voice and grinned.
“Hey, Kiba. What’s up?”
“Get your ass down to the skate park, NOW” he didn’t sound urgent but he did sound kinda rushed.
“Uh su-” before he could finish, Kiba hung up.
Naruto looked at the phone with a slightly pissed look. “He could have let me finish!” he shouted before slamming the phone back down onto the receiver.
With a sigh, Naruto grumbled and headed back out of his apartment. He stomped the whole way to the skate park, only to be met with a frantic Kiba at the front gate.
“What the hell is wrong, Kiba?” Naruto growled at the canine-like boy.
Kiba said nothing and dragged Naruto by the wrist over behind one of the many food stands. Kiba dragged Naruto behind the stand and turned to look at him with a serious look.
“Okay, you’re starting to scare me. What the hell is going on?” Naruto asked while taking a small step back.
“Truly, I don’t want to show you this but…” Kiba grabbed Naruto by the shoulders and turned him around.
Naruto stood agape, eyes widened as he took in the nearby sight. Sasuke. Ino. Making out. Naruto felt his heart break. He didn’t know whether to march over and tare the two apart or fall to his knees and cry.
“Sorry, Naruto” Kiba said as Naruto continued to stand perfectly still.
Naruto watched as the two separated and leaned in for another kiss.
“A dream….heh it’s just a bad dream” Naruto said hysterically before he fainted and fell to the ground.
“Naruto? Naruto!!” Kiba shouted as he helped his friend up so he was leaning on him.
Sasuke had heard the blonde’s name being called and separated to see Kiba with a limp Naruto. His eyes widened and he backed away from Ino who looked boredly at the other two boys.
“That’s an embarrassment, asleep in public. It’s a good thing you two aren’t together anymore” Ino smiled at the Uchiha.
“I haven’t even broken up with him yet” Sasuke said coldly as he left the blonde girl who seemed to be shocked, and ran over towards Kiba who was trying to wake Naruto up.
“What happened to the dobe?” Sasuke asked casually as he walked up to the dog boy.
“Fuck off, Uchiha” Kiba growled, a glare aimed straight towards the raven haired teen in front of him, daring him to take one step closer.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” Sasuke asked, taking the dare and taking a step towards the burnet who laid Naruto down on the ground calmly then shot up and punched Sasuke.
“Something about dogs is the fact that they’re loyal! Unlike you! Pick some other idiot to mess with and leave Naruto alone!! I swear, if you hurt him anymore, I’ll make sure to take more then a punch to you!” Kiba shouted to the stunned Uchiha.
I small group began to crowd around the two. Kiba still glaring with fists raised. And Sasuke who looked calm, a red cheek evident from the punch. The crowd moved slightly as Ino pushed her way in to coo the raven haired teen and his sore cheek.
“Kiba!! What the hell is wrong with!? You can’t just punch Sasuke-kun!!” Kiba ignored the fuming blonde girl and instead just snorted and bent down.
Kiba hoisted Naruto onto his back, giving the boy a piggy back ride as he left the skate park. People began to whisper to each other as everyone went back to their earlier activities. Ino left soon after, saying something about calling Kiba’s sister and a few friends.
“Ya know, you really fucked up” Sasuke turned around to see Kita and Minami sitting on one of the edges of the large fountain in the park.
“Screw off” Sasuke grumbled.
Kita was about to open her mouth again when a flash of pink ran up to Sasuke.
“Sasuke-kun! You didn’t tell that stupid baka Naruto!!” Sakura shouted with the best pout she could come up with, which was a shame compared to Naruto’s.
“He probably already knows anyways” Minami butted in as she came up and glared Sasuke straight in the eye. “Some Uchiha. The rumors were that you were loyal and noble people, that’s a crock of shit” she hissed.
Sasuke became raged as he aimed a punch right towards the girl, only to have his fist caught by a very pissed looking Kita.
“Don’t” was all she said while shoving Sasuke’s fist to his side.
Sasuke glared more as Sakura began some high-pitched shouting on how the two girls should be nice to Sasuke since he was so ‘great’.
“Listen you little pink haired slut!” Kita shouted, a face so seriously pissed that it was hard to believe it had ever been care free. “We may be new but we know plenty to know that Mr. Uchiha here is not great! Naruto-kun was my first friend here and those bonds mean a lot to me, so once you hurt him, I hurt you!”
Sakura only looked more ticked as she puffed out her cheeks and gave Kita a fierce look.
“Drop it, Sakura” Sasuke said coldly.
“Fine” she huffed while turning to leave.
“Oh and Sakura?” Sakura turned as Kita called her name, only to find herself on the ground with a bruising eye the next second. “Have fun fucking Uchiha in hell” she said before her and Minami walked off to one of the skating ramps.
Sakura began tearing up and looked up to Sasuke for comfort. But Sasuke just scoffed her off and walked away, out of the skate park and towards Naruto’s home.
“You know I’m just going to take him when you leave him” Sai said as he came up beside Sasuke.
“Aren’t you older?” Sasuke said in a non-caring tone.
“1 year does no harm” Sai said in the same tone.
“You have competition. Neji and Gaara.”
“I’ll come out victorious.”
“How can you be so sure?”
“Because…he has love for you, despite you throw it around like a child does a rag doll, and I look like you.”
“So you are confident because you look like me?”
“And because I can give him the comfort you never bothered to show” Sai and Sasuke stopped, they had finally arrived at Naruto’s small little apartment.
But Sai had no intentions of staying. Instead, he gave his farewells and walked off back towards town. Sasuke took a deep breathe before walking up to the front door. After a small knock, Sasuke stood calmly as he waited for the blond to greet him. Maybe he hadn’t seen? Sasuke knew Naruto had but he tried thinking otherwise. He would rather break bond cleanly then with something to feel guilty about later on.
A moment later, the door opened to reveal not blond hair and blue eyes, but red hair and sea foam green eyes.
“Gaara? What are you doing here?” Sasuke gritted out.
“Kiba informed me of what happened and asked that I take care of Uzumaki” Gaara replied with a victorious smirk.
“Gaara? Whose at the door?” Naruto asked as he came up behind the red head, still a tad wobbly from earlier.
“Dobe” with that word, Naruto froze again. Crap, not Sasuke! He didn’t want to deal with Sasuke right now!! “Tell the no eye browed freak to move out of the way.”
But he had to put up with Sasuke at some point.
“Gaara…” Naruto said, head lowered which caused his eyes to be hidden in the shadows of the golden locks. “Please go home, I can handle this.”
Gaara looked surprised before turning and glaring at Sasuke.
“Don’t hurt him” he warned before pushing past Sasuke and leaving.
Naruto just continued to look towards the ground as Sasuke walked into the small home and closed the door behind him.
“Naruto-” Sasuke began but was cut off by Naruto who looked up at him with a sad smile.
“Don’t worry, Sasuke. I know already, and it’s okay” he choked out, fighting hard not to let the tears welling up in his eyes out.
Sasuke looked slightly guilty at the boy but covered it with the stoic mask as usual.
“So there’s no more to be said” Sasuke said as he turned to leave but was stopped as a hand shot out and grabbed him by his wrist.
Sasuke looked over only to have soft lips against his own. He didn’t respond, even though he desperately wanted to. With that small kiss, Sasuke could feel all the sadness from the boy flow over to him. But before he could reply, Naruto separated and gave him another sad, depressing smile.
“Goodbye.”
