Chapter 1

"This sucks, ass! Why am I doing this again?" Christy was complaining as she threw the screwdriver to the ground with a clatter. A friend, Klyde, sighed.

"Please, Christy. Have some patience. You can be fired for your fowl little temper, you know?" Christy huffed in defeat. She bent over to pick up the tool.

"Oh, now I remember why I'm doing this. It's so I can have some old fart yell at me for not doing my job in the last 16 hours! I need a friggin' break here!" Christy by now was flailing her hands in the air, pacing. Klyde continued working on his computer.

"You know, Christmas is coming soon. Santa's gonna give you a lump of coal if you keep this up?" Klyde smiled.

"What? Santa? Do you hear yourself, Klyde? You work in a high-tech facility working on the latest in micro-business and your going on about Santa?! You need a break more than I do," Christy laughed. Klyde rolled his chair to a big box wrapped in shiny foil. It had a large blue ribbon at the top.

"What is that?" she asked, looking at the six foot box. Klyde smiled proudly.

"This is my gift to you, Christy. After working together for three years, I'd figure we knew each other well enough to give each other gifts. Would you like to open it now?" His voice was kinda low but Christy heard every word. She smiled at him.

"Klyde you didn't? But I… I didn't… I mean I didn't bring my gift. Seeing this kinda makes me feel a little conscious about my gift now." (Christy didn't really have a gift) She poked the box then tore the wrapping off. She found out it wasn't in a box at all. Her gift was…
