Chapter 8

Third Person

“Oh, hey Kakashi!” Christy smiled and rubbing the back of her head.
“Didn't see you there. Sorry for bumping into you. Did I wake you up?” she asked. Kakashi looked at her with a bored look.
“What were you doing in your closet?” he asked tiredly.
“Closet? Oh, I was…Arranging some things. You know, since you're here and all I can't just leave things hanging out anymore,” she laughed. Kakashi only yawned and smiled under his mask.
“Anything I'd be interested in?” he joked. Christy blushed.
“Kakashi! Hentai! What are you thinking in that thick skull of yours?!” He just held up his hands in surrender.
“Sorry, just asking. Sheesh, you'd think you can take a joke.” He walked into the kitchen.
“I can never tell if you're joking or telling the truth,” Christy shot back closing the door, releasing her breath. She went to follow Kakashi but was surprised to see him staring at her.
“Same way with you,” he replied. `Damn! It was a trap.' She tilted her head.
“Huh, what do you mean?” she asked, confused. She stepped back seeing Kakashi step forward, an intense look on his face. He sighed in disappointment but then smiled. `The heck?!'
“Sorry Christy. We all have our secrets but I'm as curious as a cat. I can't help trying to figure out what other people try to keep hidden. Sasuke never liked me for that. Heh, heh.” Christy allowed her guard to ease, seeing that the machine was just joking. `I'm gonna get Klyde for this!' she thought furiously. `He probably put a recorder in that robot to find out more about me! He always disliked the secrets I kept from him.' Christy waved it off.
“It's alright, Kakashi. No hard feelings. I mean like you said. Everyone has secrets. You're not the only one who tries to find out the mysteries of others. Take Klyde for instance.” He looked at her, interested.
“He's been trying to get me to spill the beans for years, ever since three years ago. He's been keeping an eye on me to see if I'd slip up. Haven't yet though,” she said proudly, fists on her hips. Kakashi smiled at her for not taking it seriously but he had that little nagging voice in his head. `Must find out what she's hiding.'
“So what is it you've been keeping from Klyde?” he asked casually to see if she'd slip.
“Nice try metal-man, but I'm on to you. Trying to find out my secret so you can tell your master, Klyde.” She waved her finger in the air. His eye twitched a little. `Darn!'
“Metal-man? Master Klyde?” he asked. He didn't get it.
“Yeah, Mr. Robo-Kakashi. Klyde made you and he probably hid a recorder on you so if you think I'll spill it, you are seriously mistaken,” she huffed. `She reminds me of Sakura,' Kakashi thought.
“Sorry Christy, but Klyde is not my master let alone creator. And I'm not metal. As you can see,” he pulled his skin. “I am human.”
Christy's sureness faltered. `No way! He can't be real.'
“Right. You're just saying that. You probably don't even know you're a robot,” Christy said not believing him. Kakashi sighed.
“Do I have to prove it?” he asked. He was interested in her answer.
Christy didn't like this. If he was real, that meant she slept with her dream guy for real! She told him he was cute, went out on a picnic with him, and got him to hold her things for her! No way was he real!
“What would you do if I said `yes'?” she asked, wondering.
He stood up straight and put his hands together. Christy knew what he was going to do.
“No! Wait, don't poof to Klyde!” she yelled at him. He looked at her.
“How'd you know I was going to poof away?” he asked surprised.
“Well it's your stance. Remember I've studied the Kakashi and know everything about him. Plus you can't poof up at the facility! He's at home now.” Kakashi sighed, thinking of another way to prove himself. His eye widened as he got an idea.
“I got it.” He knelt down on his knees and looked at Christy smiling.
She looked down at him. (She's only 5' 10” while he is 6' 1”)
“What are you doing?” she asked weirded out by his grin. He continued to smile.
“To prove I am not a robot, I want you to punch me. That way I won't feel metal and if I bleed, that should be enough proof.” Christy fell over.
“Are you insane?! What kind of proof is that?!” she yelled at him.
“It's enough. Besides I doubt you could make me bleed anyway.”
Christy's eyebrow twitched. `Make him bleed?' She raised her fist. `I'll kill him!' Her blow was going a full speed before she stopped inches away from his face. Kakashi opened his eyes, wondering what was taking so long. He saw Christy's fist, trembling a little. His grin fell to a frown. She slowly receded her fist, her face telling him she was afraid of something. Was it him?
“It's okay, you won't hurt me.” But apparently she wasn't listening as she continued to stare at her hand.

Christy's P.O.V.

`Kill him?' I thought. I couldn't….How could I think that about him?! He was my idol, my obsession, my… I looked at my balled up hand as it shook. I heard Kakashi say something but I was too wrapped up in my thoughts.
`It must be the moon. The evil within must be itching to get out so it's using any excuse.' She backed away from Kakashi, looking scared that she might actually hurt him. He opened his eyes and looked at her.
“I'm sorry, Kakashi. I'm just kind of tired and I think I pulled something. I'm gonna go to bed, alright?” My voice cracked a little and I swore in my head for sounding weak. He stood up and nodded. I went upstairs and stopped in front of the guest bedroom. His footsteps stopped behind mine. I turned to face him, a grin on my face.
“Kakashi, do you think I could sleep by myself for tonight? I feel awkward sleeping with you if you really are real.” His bored expression returned.
“Why? We slept together last night? What makes tonight different?” His eye twinkled, saying he was joking. `Damn!'
“You know what? You're absolutely right. Why should I care when we already slept together?” she blushed at the way that sounded. Kakashi raised an eyebrow at that last comment.
“Never mind.” I continued down the hall to my room and went in. My gaze went straight to the moon rays that seeped through my window. `Hope I don't do anything stupid. Okay Christy, just keep cool. Don't let that last slip screw your sleep. You will not and can not hurt Kakashi. He isn't real.' But then there was that little voice in the back of her head as she made her way to her bed. `But what if he's real?' I sat down on the bed to make sure my gown wouldn't slip up as I slid under the covers. I heard Kakashi remove his headband and mask before getting in the bed next to me, a little too close. I scooted over toward the edge of the bed away from him. I liked sleeping on the edge anyway. It gave me access to an easy get up.
“Christy, I felt weird asking this before but I wanted to ask you how you got that bandage?” he asked breaking the silence. I cursed myself again.
“It's old,” I replied, not turning around. He huffed.
“You know you must be tired. Your lies are becoming too easy to sense,” he said. I froze. `He knew all along, didn't he?' Well of course he did. He was the great Kakashi.
“What are you saying?”
“I'm saying that yesterday when wearing your night gown that that bandage was not there. Was it the clerk at the store?” How dare him!
“The Hell it was him! He couldn't touch me with a ten foot pole.”
“You're lying again,” he stated sounding bored. `Great, now he's making fun of me.' It was probably his eye.
“So what if I am. You lie all the time back in Konaha,” I growled, remembering all the lies he told to his students.
“You're right but those things weren't as serious as this.” `He was toying around for his own amusement I bet you!' I cursed again. My restlessness was getting uneasy. `Stupid…Moon!'
“Just drop it. So who cares if he kissed me?” `Damn! I slipped.'
“I knew something happened. Now kissing you? That's no fair. You guys going out? I always thought it was you and Klyde.” `No, I'm going to slip up again!'
“Damn we are!” I yelled in disbelief. I was now sitting up glaring at him.
“That jerk stole a kiss from me and damn me if the thought of dating him ever crosses my mind!” I shouted. He looked up at me in seriousness. I quickly covered my mouth. I had slipped again. `Who knows what I'll say next?! What if he finds out…?'
“Stole? You mean he forced you? Christy you should really tell me this stuff. I could have stopped…” He was sitting up next to me.
“Could have what?! Listen to me, I've been on my own and taking care of myself way before you came here! I don't need to tell you anything!”
I was getting too radical. He was just offering. But I couldn't stand to be babied. I wouldn't stand for it. I shot up from the bed and was heading for the door when his hand grabbed my wrist from behind. I turned around and punched him in the side of the face, sending him back onto the bed. His hand went to his face to feel the bruise on his cheek, his eyes surprised at me. I turned back and ran down the hall. `The guest bedroom won't be enough!' I ran downstairs and into the closet, tearing the clothes away and banging on the hidden door to open. I fell in when it finally did. I quickly shut the door behind me and locked myself in. `Stupid clerk! The stuff was fake! It didn't work!' I hugged my stomach as a thick fog of pain rolled over me. I fell to my side, spasms washing over, and tears stinging my eyes. The whole time, I heard Kakashi pounding the door yelling my name.
“Christy! Christy?! CHRISTY!” My eyes slowly shut and my mind went blank.
