Chapter Nine
Kakashi's P.O.V.
`God, that girl's got a strong right!' My jaw hurt like Hell as I rubbed it. `Maybe being a little forceful wasn't the way to go.' I jumped off the bed and followed Christy. I was sure she would go to the guest bedroom and lock herself in but surprisingly she went straight downstairs.
“What's down there?” I asked myself as I slid down the rail. Landing on my feet and turning the corner, I saw the closet door rip open. I paused a little, my eyelids drooping.
“Huh? The closet?” I was skeptical at first, thinking she couldn't go anywhere but that's when I heard a door shut within the closet. My eyes snapped open as I ran forward and looking in the closet. Clothes were thrown everywhere and a light seeped through a crack at the bottom of the door. `A secret room?!' I tried opening the door, but that's when I noticed there was no handle. So I tried pushing it open but nothing happened. I hated feeling helpless. Goddamn it! I'm a ninja and a jounin! I should be able to do something! I started banging on the door furiously calling her name over and over to hear she'd answer me. I heard a `Thump.'
“Christy!” No answer.
“Christy?!” Still nothing, no answer. I started freaking out.
“CHRISTY!” I called out. My call went unheard. `What is wrong with her?! Is this her secret?' I couldn't stop banging on the door for some reason, even as my voice went hoarse from yelling, I continued hitting the door. After a while, I stopped my hands hurting. `This is nothing compared to the doors of the Leaf Village!'
Third Person P.O.V.
Things were getting out of hand! Kakashi was worrying more than he ever did about Naruto and Christy locked herself in her secret room. Within the room, Christy rolled around, trying to ease the pain that kept coming back. She cried out in pain a few times and that's when Kakashi would start pounding the door again yelling. Christy finally stopped on her knees, trying to pick herself up but her breath came out ragged, sweat pouring from her forehead. She looked at the door, trying to get up.
“Go…Away…” Her voice was very tired and strained that Kakashi could barley hear it.
“Christy, I'm sorry if I did something but please open the door. Let me help!” Kakashi called to her. She looked at the ground, clutching her mid-section.
“No,” she whispered. “You'll be like the rest. You'll just run away like everyone…Else…Aaagghh!” The pain was increasing and was getting worse. She tried her hardest to stop it but nothing was working. The voice in her head told her to give in, to succumb to the evil within her but she refused. Seconds which seemed like hours passed and her will was slowly diminishing.
“No I won't! I'm different! Like you said to me when I took my headband off. You like me anyways and you couldn't care less what I looked like. Christy tell me! I'll work through with you! If I can put up with Naruto, I can certainly put up with you!” Kakashi was loosing faith. The power within the room was shifting into something different, more demanding. When there was no answer, he knew she gave it her all. She couldn't fight it anymore; she was fighting a loosing battle. Kakashi thought quickly, eyes wandering around for something. Then he finally got it and smacked himself on the head. `Idiot!' he thought. `Ninjutsu! Of course!' He put his hands together and imagined he was in the room with her. Suddenly, poof! He was on the other side and was looking for her. He looked down to see she was lying on the ground, panting for breath. He knelt down to her and propped her up.
“Christy? Are you okay?” he asked. His eyes widened as her eyes popped open. They were gold with small pupils. She looked surprised, happy, and angry all at once. He continued to stare in the mysterious orbs. All the lies, secrets, and feeling she hid were there. His sharingan eye was also exposed, giving him a view of her life. He could hear it all.
`This girl…Is so much like Naruto but different. She's like me too.' He snapped back to reality when Christy closed her eyes. She started remembering too. She didn't want to. She clutched his shirt.
“Get…Out!” she said, trying to sound threatening but failed. Kakashi hugged her.
“No. I'll help you.” But she didn't approve. Out of nowhere, Christy let out a straining scream that made Kakashi himself, wince. Her tears flowing now. Her eyes, were wide in pain; her mouth open in a silent scream. Kakashi was worrying that she might be contracting an attack but he didn't guess the next thing that happened. The fingers in his shirt tore the fabric apart. He gasped as he saw her nails grow horrendously long and big. Her opened mouth turned into a fierce scowl, eyes angry but still blank. He felt her presence disappear and a new force come from within her. He gasped as a sudden evil that washed over him. He had to let go of her from the sudden tidal wave that buried him. He backed up into the wall and watched in horror as Christy convulsed and claw the air. Her nails turned into claws and she rapidly tore at the air. Then she flipped over and got on her hands and knees. She quickly looked over at him.
“Ka…Kashi… Get… Outtttt!!!!!” But she then dropped to her head on the floor as she held onto her shoulders for dear life. Her back popped and her shoulders disconnected, largening them as they grew. Her arms rippled as muscles tightened and grew. Her whole body seemed to grow longer and bigger. Her legs grew larger but stayed the same length; toenails growing; scraping the floor. That's when he noticed the floor. There were scratch marks all over it. `She… This has happened before!' His mind finally clicked and the pieces were starting to fit. The secret room, the shop clerk, the moon, the lies! She was a Kogainu! A werewolf!
