The Yo-yo

Sora Rezicun played with her yo-yo as she watched Iruka-sensei drag Naruto Uzumaki into class. She shook her head as Iruka-sensei crossed his arms and looked sternly down at Naruto, who was sitting on the ground.

“Listen! Naruto you failed the last final exam and the exam before that! You shouldn't be fooling around like that.”

Sora smiled a bit when Naruto just turned his head stubbornly. It seemed, though, that Iruka-sensei didn't find it as funny as she did, you could clearly see the vein on the side of his head. He turned and pointed to the rest of the class.

“We're going to have a review test for the transformation technique! Those who have already passed will line up as well!”

Everyone groaned while Sora calmly stood up, walking to the front of the room from her seat in the back next to Shino Aburame. She was still playing with the black yo-yo as she walked. Most people thought that Sora never put the thing down, which is probably true. Sora really didn't care what they thought of her, it only matter about how you think of your self.

When everyone else walked to the front, Sora found herself in the middle of the line. To her right was Kiba Inuzuka, a very loud boy who usually sleeps in class and has his dog help him cheat on tests, and to her left was Hinata Hyuga, a very quiet girl who, Sora noticed, is rather fond of Naruto. She didn't know why though, Hinata and Naruto were like complete opposites and Naruto was clueless of Hinata's feelings.

Iruka-sensei stood in front of them, clipboard in hand, calling the students up one by one.

“First, Haruno Sakura!”

Sakura, one of the smartest people in the class and totally in love with , stepped forward. “Haruno Sakura going! Transform!” There was a puff of smoke and in Sakura's place there was an exact replica of Iruka-sensei.

Iruka nodded. “Okay.”

Sakura started jumping up and down. “I did it! Did you see that, Sasuke-kun?” Sora rolled her eyes. Most of the girls in the class like Sasuke Uchiha, who in her opinion is a very rude, but talented boy. Sora and Hinata were probably the only ones that didn't have a crush on him.

Sasuke stepped up next, and without even trying he did the transformation perfect. Sora noticed that while Naruto was waiting Shikamaru Nara, one of the smartest, but laziest person Sora had ever met, and Ino Yamanaka, another Sasuke fan, were making comments. He just ignored them and walked forward when his name was called.

He started to concentrate. “Transform!” There was a puff of smoke and Sora assumed that he got it, but when the smoke cleared she could see that she had been wrong. Where Naruto was standing was not a replica of Iruka-sensei but a naked blond girl with smoke covering her private parts.

She sighed shaking her head as Iruka-sensei started to yell at Naruto when he was back to normal. Ino was next, then Shikamaru, Shino, Hinata, then it was her turn.

Her classmate watch closly waiting for her to put the yo-yo down. Sora spun the yo-yo in a circle then let it fly up. While it was midair she transformed, then transformed back catching the yo-yo and continuing to play with it.

Iruka-sensei smiled. “Very good Sora.” She just shrugged and went to sit back down. Some of her classmates were staring at her but she ignored them.

After Iruka let them out Sora started to walk home, she continued to play with her yo-yo.

Sora opened the door to her house quietly and slowly. She was no longer playing with the yo-yo, this was the only place she would put it away, so it wouldn't get taken. She was about to tiptoe into her room, when a voice stopped her.

“Where do you think your going girl?”

Sora turned slowly and gave her stepmother a blank stare. “To my room.” she said flatly.

Her stepmother, or Chiyoko as Sora called her, glared at her. “Oh no you don't, before you go into that horrid room of yours you have chores to do.”

Sora inwardly sighed. “Yes ma'am.” She began to walk into the kitchen, but quickly ducked. Straightening up she saw a kunai stuck in the wall.

Chiyoko was still glaring. “Never turn your back on me, or leave until your told to. Now get out of my sight.”

Sora grabbed the kunai, took it out of the wall and put it in her weapons pouch. She went into the kitchen to make dinner. Which was one of her chores.

Her thoughts drifted to her stepmother, who she thought was her real as a child. She remembered when she was happy and told Sora that she loved her. When Sora was young her stepmother was her hero, something she wanted to become, a great ninja. She would teach her whenever she got home from the academy, her father too. And they were happy, a real family.

But that was before Sora's father died.

Chiyoko soon became bitter and angry at the world. It was when Sora was 7 that she realized that her mother, really her stepmother, no longer loved her, if she ever did.

FLASHBACK

Mother...Mommy, where's Daddy? Why did he leave?

Sora was standing next to her Chiyoko, trying to look at her face, but Chiyoko's hair was covering it.

“Mommy, what's wrong? Are you mad at me? Did I do something wrong?”

Everything became silent and Chiyoko muttered a quiet, “Yes.”

Sora's eyes became wide as Chiyoko continued. “Yes, it's your fault he's gone! And yes I'm mad at you, you ungrateful little shit. If you weren't around Riuzen would still be alive. You were a mistake, and you should have died when you were born.”

Sora had tears in her eyes. “You don't mean that mommy, you love me, I know you do.”

Chiyoko started to laugh, but it wasn't a happy laugh, it was bitter. “I'm not your mother, girl. Your mother died giving birth to you. You killed her, like you killed your father, leaving you with me.”

Tears were running down Sora's face and her nose was running. “But..but, didn't you ever love me?”

Chiyoko glared at her and slapped her across the face. “No you little bitch, I loved Ruizen. I was happy with Ruizen. And now he's gone, I hate you.”

She left, leaving Sora on the ground, holding her cheek, tears running down her face.

END FLASHBACK

Sora put dinner on the table for Chiyoko, taking a little for herself and for herself and going into her room.

She changed out of her ninja clothes and into her pajamas. She sat down at her desk and looked into her vanity mirror. She took her dark blue hair out of it's bun and started brushing it. Her hair was very long, about mid-back, but it is always in a tight bun so no one can really tell.

Putting the brush down Sora stared at her reflection. Now that she was in the safety of her room she could let her emotions out. She could see the sadness and hurt in her brown eyes, and the frown on her lips.

She had learned not to show emotions when other people, especially Chiyoko, were around. Emotions make you seem weak, and for Chiyoko showing weakness is an excuse for being punished. But Sora hasn't been hit or punished badly since she was 10. That's when she could start to resist Chiyoko. It's also when she started to use her yo-yo as a weapon.

She picked up the back toy and looked at it. It was a gift from her father, the last gift she ever got. He had explained that it was more than a toy, and that if she practiced with it she could be great. She tightened her fist around the yo-yo, letting the tears fall. Each tear fell onto the yo-yo, the only thing she had to remember her father with. All his other things where taken by Chiyoko.

She didn't get rid of them, oh no, Chiyoko really did love Sora's father, with all her heart, but she just didn't love Sora so she didn't let Sora have any of her father's things.

Sora sighed and put the yo-yo in her secret compartment, before getting up. Instead of getting into the bed she went out the window and onto the roof. She laid back and looked at the stars. They were so beautiful and bright. She reached up and pretended to grab one, before she let her hand fall to her side.

She closed her eyes wishing she could be like a star. Beautiful, bright, and free. During the day she would sometimes watch the clouds and wish she could be in the sky too, away from her life.

A/N Hope you liked it.

But I need help.

Should I make up her own team, put her with one of the groups of three, or I could put her in cell 10 instead of Ino, because I really don't see why Ino is important
