Sora slowly opened her eyes and watched as the sun slowly rose in the east. It was probably 4:30 am, which is usually the time that she gets up to make Chiyoko breakfast and go train before she had to go to the academy.

She went back through the open window, into her room. Going through her drawers she pulled out her ninja clothes. A forest green training shirt that stopped above her stomach, showing her bellybutton and sky blue ninja pants. She attached her weapons pouch to her waist and put her dark green sandals and fingerless on. Before leaving the room she took her yo-yo out of its secret compartment and put it in her weapons pouch. She put her hair in its bun, she noticed that it was her last hair tie.

I'll have to buy more after class.

After checking her stepmother's room to make sure she was still sleeping, she was, Sora went into the kitchen to make breakfast for herself, and leave the rest for Chiyoko, which was most of it.

I'll go shopping for food today; it seems that Chiyoko ate most of it.

Sora exited the house and started walking to the training grounds. She pulled out her yo-yo and started to play with it. Once at her destination Sora looked around, the place was deserted, well it almost always was at 5:30 in the morning. For the next half an hour Sora worked on her kicks and punches, by practicing on a tree.

Once done Sora took out a kunai and made a target on the tree. She walked 20 yards away to start target practice. After she was out of weapons she walked over to the target. It seemed that 75 of her kunai were right on target. She smiled and put her kunai back in her weapons pouch.

Sora was about to do more exercises, when she sensed someone heading for the training area. She went into the trees and started to spin her yo-yo. When it was going at the right speed she extended the string and it rapped around a tree branch. Once secure she swung herself onto the branch, yo-yo coming back to her hand.

She watched closely as a boy in green spandex suit and a black, bowl cut hair cut ran across the training field. He ran right by her and continued to run.

What the…? She jumped out of the tree, still looking in the direction the boy went. What was he wearing?

Shrugging she went back to training. Ten minutes she sensed the boy again, she once again hid in the trees. Over the next forty minutes, it was now 6:55, the same boy had been running by.

Sensing him once again she crossed her arms and waited for him to run though the trees. When he did he looked at her surprised, but avoided colliding with her and continued running.

Without thinking she put her yo-yo in her weapons bag and followed. Once they were neck and neck she looked at him, she could see his features clearly. Bowl-cut black hair, bushy eyebrows, and round black eyes, kinda cute.

“What are you doing?”

He looked at her surprised and confused. “I am running 500 laps around Konoha, What are you doing and who are you?”

“Sora Rezicun. I'm here, not that it's any of your business, to train a bit before graduation. Why are you running 500 laps around Kohoha? That seems sort of silly.”

He stopped. “I lost to my rival, Neji Hyuuga, and since I lost I am doing 500 laps.”

What's with this guy? “But no one is watching to make sure you do it, so why?”

“Because by doing it I will prove to him that hard work and training can overcome genius and make me the better ninja.” His hand became a fist and he brought it to his chest.

Sora nodded. “Of coarse working hard makes you a better ninja. That's why I train all the time, but right now I got to go, or I'll be late for my graduation exam. Good luck with the laps...What's your name?”

“I am Rock Lee, and I will be a great ninja!” Lee said getting in his good guy pose.

Sora raised an eyebrow. “Yes well again it was nice to meet you, but I have to go. Maybe I'll see you around. Ja ne Lee-san.” Sora turned and ran a different direction toward the academy.

Lee blinked, then smiled. “Goodbye Sora-san, good luck with the exam!” He waved after her.

Sora smiled a small smile, but kept running.

“Rezicun, Sora!”

“Alrigh t Sora, you just have to make three replicas and you pass.”

Sora nodded. She did the hand signs. “Bunshin no Jutsu!” Poof

Three copies of Sora appeared, before disappearing again. Iruka and Muzuki smiled.

“Congratulations Sora, you are now a ninja. Come back tomorrow for your team assignment. Hear is your headband.”

Sora smiled genuinely, surprising Iruka, he had never seen her smile before. “Arigato, Iruka-sensei.” She grabbed a headband and tied it around her head, so it rested on her forehead.

“Uzamaki, Naruto!” Iruka called.

As Sora left the room she passed Naruto. She smiled, surprising him. “Good luck Naruto-kun, Do your best.”

Naruto stood up straight and rubbed the back his neck. “Don't worry about me Sora-chan, this'll be a piece of cake, Believe it!”

Sora nodded and watched him walk in before leaving. She walked outside and saw all the other kids and their parents. There was no need to look for Chiyoko, Sora knew she wasn't there. She sighed and began to walk over to the tree in the court yard.

She sat at the base of the tree and closed her eyes.

“Sora-chan?”

Sora opened her eyes and looked up at Naruto. “How was the exam Naruto-kun? She noticed that he wasn't wearing a headband, she looked down sadly. “Gomen, Naruto-kun. If it counts for anything I still think your going to be a great ninja, don't give up. Find a way to try harder.”She looked up at the sky. Judging by the poistion of the sun, it was 1:00.

“I have to go Naruto-kun, I have shopping to do.” She started to walk.

“Arigato Sora-chan.” Without replying she left.

SORA'S P.O.V.

I walked through the streets of Konoha, playing with my yo-yo, going to the shops I needed to go in. I first bought more food supplies. It would probably last a month or so.

Next I bought more hair ties and a couple of new clothes.

By the time I was done my arms were loaded with bags of supplies. I could hardly see where I was going.

Only a couple more blocks and I'm home. I thought to myself.

“Sora-san!” I looked to my right and saw Lee waving at me. He was standing next to a man that looked like an older version of himself.

That must where he got that outfit from.

“Hello Lee-san.” I said politely. “Did you get all 500 laps done?”

The older man nodded. “Of coarse he did, and he used the power of youth while doing it! Isn't that right Lee?”

Lee nodded enthusiastically. “Hai Gai-sensei. Sora-san this is Gai-sensei, Gai-sensei this is Sora-san. I met her whle she was using the power of youth to train this morning.”

Gai smiled and I swear I saw his teeth sparkle. “Yes, the true power of youth is a wonderous thing.”

I smiled a bit, trying to get away fast. “Yes, well it was nice meeting you Gai-sensei, but right now I have to use my power of youth to get this food home.”

Lee stepped forward. “Allow me to help you Sora-san.”

I could feal my face heat up. “That's okay, Lee-san, I can do it.”

Lee took the bags before I could protest. “I insist Sora-san, and I promise if I drop anything I will go 200 push ups. I will see you later Gai-sensei.”

Gai did the pose again. “Goodbye Lee. Remember the power of youth is with you. YOSH!”

Lee turned to me. “Lead the way Sora-san.”

I blushed a little more and nodded. “This way.”

When we reached my house I took the bags from Lee. “Arigato Lee-san. I'll see you around.” I opened the door and went inside. Before I could close the door Lee's voice stopped me.

“Sora-san.”

“Hai?”

H e smiled. “Congratulations for passing your exam. You will become a great ninja, I know it.”

I blushed. I seem to be doing that a lot around him. “Arigato Lee-san” I closed the door and leaned against it.

Why does my stomach suddenly feel funny? Do I...

“Hey, girl, did you buy more food. It seems you ate it all.” Chiyoko yelled from the kitchen.

Sora glared. I hate you, your the one that ate it all. The pig.

“Yes, I have more food.” I said cooly.

She came into the room and glared. “Then why are you just standing there like an idiot. Get in her and cook dinner.

I nodded and walked toward the kitchen. But before I could get there, Chiyoko raised a kunai and sliced me across the face. My hand found it's way to my cheek, it was bleeding. I glared at Chiyoko, but when I did she grabbed me by the hair, pulling it out of its bun, and pointed the kunai at my throat.

“Don't you ever talk to me like your better than me, your not, I can kill you in a second. And don't you ever give me that look, or you might find yourself attached to the wrong end of this kunai.” She hissed.

Stepping back, she put the weapon away and glared at me. “Now what are you waiting for, go make my dinner, Now!”

I glared at the floor. “Yes ma'am.” I picked up the food, that I dropped when she cut me, and went into the kitchen.

Just you wait Chiyoko, when I get stronger I'm going to make sure you don't hurt me ever again, that's a promise.
