“AHHH! Alviss! There's a HUGE spider on your face!” I screamed from my position beside his bedroom door while Keita crouched beside Alviss's pillow with his whiskers just barely brushing over Alviss's cheek. At my scream the older boy immediately shot up out of bed.

 

“Get it off! Get it off!” He screeched in soprano tones, previously thought impossible for guys to reach. Still screaming he began to brush at his face with his hands that I had carefully covered in maple syrup. His panic quickly wore of as the combination of the sticky, cold substance transferring to his face and my laughter reached his ears.

 

“Kari~!” He growled.

 

“ Revenge is sweet. Eh, Alviss?” I snickered.

 

“Revenge? What for?” He muttered, while trying to wipe the syrup off of his face with a shirt that had previously been hanging of the corner of his desk.

 

“Yes, for taking off with Hoshina-kun and skipping out on your chores.”

 

“Man, Kari, give me a break. I was so excited about passing the exam that I forgot. And stop calling Narumi that. You know he hates formalities.”

 

“Hmph! Come on Keita. Time for breakfast.” I turned around and walked out, hearing Alviss mutter, “You too Keita? Fine then! See if I give you anymore table scraps!”

“Who do you think will be on your team?” I asked Alviss as we sat down in the classroom.

 

“Well, no one really knows but the teachers do they?” He teased.

 

“You know what I mean! I hope I get put on a team with either you and/or Tenten.”

 

“Me, I can understand, but why Tenten?” He asked.

 

“She's my friend, Baka! Plus she's the only other girl in our class that actually takes things seriously. I mean instead of being a creepy Neji fangirl.”

 

“Now that you mention it, I see what you mean. You have to admit, though that Neji does have some nice looks.”

 

“Yeah, and a ten foot stick up his a-”

 

“Kari! He can't be that bad! He's friend's with Narumi after all.”

 

“Alviss...Narumi's friends with almost everyone. Plus, from what I've heard, they're diaper buddies. But enough about that, here comes the Sensei.”

 

The sensei made the small walk from the classroom door to the front of the room seem to take years. Then he proceeded to waste even more time by giving a speech about teamwork, etc. I wish we could have had Iruka for a sensei, from what Hinata's said, he's always straight to the point. Finally it was time for the teams.

 

“Team One is Hyuuga Neji, Rock Lee, and Tenten.”

 

Wow, glad I'm not on the same team as Destiny-boy. Oops, spaced out a little there.

 

“Team Four, Yuhi Kari, Yuhi Alviss, and Hoshina Narumi.”

 

“Yes! Alviss did you hear that! We're on the same team! Oh! Sorry for interrupting Sensei!” I exclaimed.

 

“Just try and be quieter Kari.” The sensei sighed.

“Wow!” I gaped, “We sure lucked out when it came to jounin instructors!”

 

“You can say that again.”

 

“AHHH!” I whipped around to see that Narumi had come to stand behind my shoulder while I was watching Neji being glomped by a strange man in green. “You jerk! Why did you snick up behind me!”

 

“Gomen Kari. I didn't mean to startle you. I just wanted to let you know that our jounin instuctor is here now.” He apologized.

 

“Why didn't you say so sooner! Let's go meet them!” I grabbed his arm and dragged him to where Alviss was standing next to our new sensei.

 

“Genma-san!” I squealed and jumped into his arms, “Your going to be our new sensei!”

 

“As much as I love the hugs you might want to ease up some before people get the wrong idea.” Genma teased.

 

“Well if you and Nee-chan would just tell everyone about your relationship I could hug you whenever I want. Especially if you two would go ahead and get married already.” I replied.

 

“Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well you just outed us to someone, so let's get a move on now. We're going to take a field trip.”

 

“Yeah! Field Trip! Where are we going Genma-sensei?” I asked.

 

“The Hokage Monument. The top of course.”

(Change in POV)

*Meanwhile with Alviss and Narumi*

 

“So your family is on good terms with Genma-sensei?” Narumi questioned.

 

“Yeah, Nee-san has been secretly dating him for a while now, but because she was so close to becoming a jounin they decided to keep it quiet. Now it's just habit.” Alviss explained.

 

“Kari seems to really like Genma. Does she have a crush on him?” Narumi asked, pointing to where Kari and Genma were walking in front of them.

 

“Whaaaa! No Way! As far as I know Kari doesn't like anyone.” Alviss responded. “Especially not Genma. He's been friends with Nee-san since before I can remember, so he's like a big brother to us.”

 

“Now that I think about it she doesn't have very many friends, does she? Kari, I mean.”

 

“Not really. Besides me, there's really just Tenten and Hyuuga Hinata.”

 

“I wonder why.”

 

“I dunno.”

 

“Hey slowpokes hurry up! We're almost there!” Kari yelled back to the guys as they approached the Hokage Monument.

Once we were sitting in a, kinda lopsided, circle Genma told us why we were meeting here.

 

“Okay brats. It's mandatory for every team to have a 'get to know one another' type deal. So each of you will share something about yourself, like your goals and all that jazz.”

 

“Okay! I wanna go first!” I shouted.

 

“Go for it.” Genma said, propping his head up on his hand.

 

“My name is Yuhi Kari. I was adopted by Kurenai when I was seven. Alviss is my Aniki. My best friend is Hinata. I have a pet fox named Keita. I hate it when people pick on others and I loath fangirls. My goal is to one day become a Sannin.”

 

“Wow! Kari, I didn't mean to give an oral autobiography of your life. Alviss, your next.” Genma said.

 

“I'm Yuhi Alviss. I enjoy goofing off and hate it when people get really bossy. I'm friends with Narumi and Lee. My goal is to become a medic-nin.”

 

“Okay, time for the one I don't know.” Genma stated, pointing at the violet-eyed boy that was left.

 

“My name is Hoshina Narumi. I enjoy making new friends and hate formalities. Because of this I would prefer to be addressed by my first name. My best friends are Alviss and Neji. My goal is to become strong enough to protect my friends.”

 

“Prefect, not tomorro-”

 

“Wait! Genma-sensei, you didn't tell us anything about you!” I exclaimed.

 

“Fine,” He sighed. “I'm Genma. I like Kurenai and I hate annoying like brats (A/N:insert teasing glare at Kari here). My goal is to shape you all into proper ninjas. Now, as I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted...Tomorrow we will meet at the old training grounds, south of the village, at dawn. Come prepared. See ya then!” With that he poofed away.

 

“What does that mean?” Alviss asked.

 

“Dunno. I guess we'll have to find out tomorrow. Wanna come over to out house for lunch?” I asked Narumi.

 

“Sure, let's go.”
