~`*`Hinata's Song and Admirers`*`~
Hinata looked up at the sky, reminiscing hours later...
She had gone from her new secret spot and back to the training grounds, memorizing the way from the training grounds to her spot. She found Kurenai, Shino, and Kiba anxiously waiting for her. An odd, uncomfortable silence filled the air as she walked by, soaked. Kurenai was dry, and Shino's coat was wet, but Shino himself was dry. Kiba was just as soaked as she was, Akamaru, too. Nobody spoke for the longest time...then she had smiled. Hinata had smiled. "Thank you for your concern," she had said quietly. They were merely in the eye of the storm. The calm was among them, but the storm would soon start again. "I'm going to go home now...if that is alright."
"Of course," Kurenai replied with a nod and a small smile. She was just glad Hinata was talking again.
"Thank you, Kurenai-sensei," Hinata had replied with a happy smile. She looked at Kiba and Shino. "Were you two out searching for me?" Shino said nothing; he pushed his shades up on his nose. Kiba nodded. "Thank you, Kiba-kun, Shino-kun." She smiled her real smile at them. "And I'm sorry for just running off like that...I needed....time to think." Shino nodded and Kiba scratched the back of his head a bit nervously. She looked back at Kurenai. "Will we be practicing tomorrow?"
"Umm...yes," Kurenai replied a bit warily. "If not here, then at the academy....are you sure you can train?" Shino looked at Kurenai as if that was a bad thing to say, Kiba did, too.
"Of course, Kurenai-sensei!," Hinata laughed. Her laugh was rather cold sounding. "I can't wallow in self-pity forever...besides...if I just stay like this...I won't be of any use to anyone." Kurenai looked at her in shock. "Besides...my father...he has plans for me...I cannot love freely as the heir to my clan...I should have known that..."
"What?!," Kurenai cried in suprise.
"What're you getting at, Hinata?," Kiba asked anxiously, curiously. Akamaru let out a loud yip.
"Oh umm," Hinata began rather nervously. "My father...has to choose my husband for me." Kurenai remembered that fact and looked down. Kiba looked at her in suprise. Shino's eyebrows raised. Hinata smiled and laughed nervously. "He is...going to be marrying me off soon..." Hinata looked down. "I do not know to whom...but he must be rich and powerful..." She let out a heavy breath and looked up with her painful smile. "I was rather ignorant...I forgot that...and that my father is supposed to run my life....how could I have forgotten...?" She looked back down. She delved into her thoughts without realizing it. A few moments passed and she felt hands on her shoulders, startling her from her thoughts. She jumped slightly and looked up, seeing Shino. She was suprised to say the least.
"Hinata...," Shino said softly, yet still in his usual monotone. Her eyes were completely broken as she looked up into his shades, she hoped she was looking at his eyes. He was suprised how accurate she was looking at his eyes. She was looking straight into them, and he could see her broken spirit, her pain, and her helplessness....though her gaze pierced right through him. He opened his mouth to speak, only a breath escaping. He closed his mouth, took in a deep breath and tried again. "Your father...he doesn't have to rule your life." Hinata looked at him knowingly, sadly.
"No...he could rule my sister's life...," Hinata replied quietly. She smiled her painful smile at him. "I didn't...want her to suffer..as I have." Shino's brows raised. "I don't want her to be a chained and caged bird...at least..she will be free..." Shino was in shock.
"Even after...how cruel she is to you?," he asked. Hinata nodded.
"It doesn't matter how she acts towards me," Hinata responded softly. "She is still my sister...and I will save her from this horrible fate...I will be the sacrifice." Shino admired her strength and bravery...but this was...too much.
"Will you sacrifice everything, then?," Shino asked. Kurenai and Kiba just watched him in curiosity and a bit of shock that he was talking so much. "Your freedom...your happiness...your love...your spirit...your life?"
"I will," Hinata replied sadly, nodding slightly. "Because...I do not wish...for anyone else...to ever have to hold this pain...this pain that I carry...this burden." She put her hands to her chest, clasping them together. Tears...hot tears...welled in her eyes and fell, searing her cold, pale, cheeks as she smiled. Shino's fingers dug slightly into her shoulders. It hurt, but she did nothing. Not wince, flinch, or otherwise. It was...she could see that he cared...that he was deeply concerned...It took a long few moments of staring between them, Shino angered slightly as he read her hurting eyes, before he let go and backed away. For some reason...she wanted him to stay...not turn away, but stay there with her and save her...but that was impossible...especially now. Hinata wiped her tears away. "I had better go now..." She bowed to the three of them, Shino facing the opposite direction, but still looking at her from the corner of his eye. Hinata turned to leave.
"Be strong, Hinata," Shino's voice caught her, stopped her in her tracks. She turned only enough so she could see him from the corner of her eye. "Do not break yet...there will be a way. You will live without your chains one day...you will be free." Hinata's breath caught in her throat. Her eyes widened. She looked for the right words to express her gratitude, but found none. She felt hope again..but why? She didn't know...
"Th-Thank you...Sh-Shino-kun," Hinata said softly before running off towards her home....
Now it is night time...midnight to be exact...she didn't know how the time passed so quickly...Hinata was just glad that she hadn't run into her father...she couldn't deal with that right now...She felt restless as she tossed and turned on her futon, unable to get comfortable. She sighed and got up, looking out her bedroom window. The ground and trees were wetened by the rain from earlier that had long since passed. The sky was mostly clear besides a few black clouds here and there. The moon was full tonight...before she knew it, Hinata had thrown on her jacket over her ice blue pajamas and put on her house shoes and opened her window, jumping out into the warm summer night. She found herself running back to her spot from before, and got there quite quickly. She perched herself on a dry branch and looked at the now calm sky. She took in a deep breath and began to sing again, thinking of more lyrics to add.
"Couldn't sleep so I went out walking" Wow...she actually did it...kinda creepy...
"Thinking about you and hearing us talking
And all the things I should have said
Echo now inside my head
I feel somthin' fallin' from the sky
I'm so sad I made the angels cry" A raindrop landed on her forehead and she looked up. It began to sprinkle, appearing as though the moon was crying.
"Tears from the moon
Fallin' down like rain" She thought of Naruto.
"I reach for you
I reach in vain
Tears from the moon~
Tears from the moon~" She thought a moment.
"It just isn't..." She thought again. She could put it more in context of the song and less of how she was supposed to speak. She resumed.
"It just ain't fair, this thing called loving
When one step and the other feels nothing
I would've done anything for you" She thought again.
"I still love you, baby I adore you
All day I keep from falling apart
But at night, when the sky gets dark--
Tears from the moon
Falling down like rain
I reach for you
I reach in vain" She let her emotions take over, guiding her over the words she wished to say.
"Stop...
Stop haunting me
It should be easy
As easy as when you stopped wanting me
I~
Tears from the moon
Falling down like rain
I reach for you
I reach in vain
Tears from the moon
Falling down like rain
The tears from the moon
Can't wash away the pain
Tears from the moon~
Tears from the moon~
Tears from the moon~"
She finished, tears welling in her eyes. Hinata had completed her heart-aching song...and memorized it. All her feelings were put into that beautiful song. She sang it again and again that night, just to get a feel of how to sing it...
Secretly, five hidden male nin watched her as she poured her heart into her song...Hinata never noticed...but...who was spying..?
