Chapter Two
Naruto turned away from his own reflection to see what all the fuss was about. The timid little girl he had defended nearly five years ago wasn’t there anymore.
For the first time he took a good, long look at Hinata.
Her head was bowed, her now long dark locks partially hid her face, and she was slightly turned in on herself in her discomfort. Yet her posture couldn’t take way from her naturally athletic and graceful physic. The short black clingy skirt went over a pair of short leggings that reached a little lower then the skirt, they showed off her incredibly shapely legs. The shit-kicker boots added a masculine appeal only certain girls could pull off and look sexy doing it. The purple low cut spaghetti-strap shirt was flirty and showed off her supple breasts while the under fishnet gave an air of sensuality.
It made a man wonder what she would look like with only the fishnets left.
“I-I d-don’t think this is a good idea, H-hokage-sama…” Hinata looked up, her forehead bunched with concern.
At the sight of her face the world zeroed in and Naruto was once again floored. Her exotic, pale eyes were framed with large sooty lashes that swept across high rosy cheekbones. Her small teeth caught at her lower lip and chewed it with apprehension. An adorably erotic habit that made Naruto wonder what she would taste like. Her long hair was edgy and framed her beautiful face flawlessly.
Tsunade caught the look of captivated desire on Naruto’s face and hid a knowing smile. The older women had seen the look many times before. Arching a delicate brow at the boy she returned her honeyed gaze towards the girl. “Dear, I think we’ve found a dead ringer.”
Looking at Hinata, Naruto didn’t seem to fit anymore. Tsunade flipped through the rack and found something more suitable.
He was thrown an outfit and ordered to change. The two girls were impressed with the outcome.
The boy was allowed to keep his over coat but had donned longer black pants, slightly baggy to make him appear more casual. His signature spiral shirt was upgraded for a black tank with a single orange spiral on the back; it very effectively showed off his body, hard from years of intense ninja training. With his already unruly bed head hair, the few extra accessories, and his startlingly blue eyes he was any women's fantasy.
“You have a day and a half to get to the City and it’s usually a three day trip. You need to hurry. So I suggest you pack and leave now. Naruto, Hinata knows what to do, you follow her direction. Got it?”
They were off. Let the mayhem begin.

Sweat poured off the ninja. He had trained for a few extra hours today so his mind would be too tired to torment him. He ripped off his cloths and laid down above the covers. Ever since his reunion with his former team his mind wouldn’t rest. Every time he closed his eyes he was haunted with another memory.
Feelings he’d long buried resurfaced, bonds he though he’d severed were mending.
His body, spent of energy, slowly dragged him into sleep. But his mind would have none of it.
The sacred place was nearly destroyed from fighting, water fell from above because of recent landings, mixing with the sweat that covered them both. Anger boiled up and out of Sasuke. His eyes had bled red long ago from it.
“You never had parents, you never had a brother! So what would you know about me anyway? You were alone from the very start! So why the hell would you know about what I’ve been through?! Huh?! Because of those bonds I’ve suffered. The loss of those bonds you will never understand.” Sasuke screamed out what was left of his bleeding heart. The pain was as raw as the day he had discovered his brother standing over his slaughtered parents.
Naruto’s face softened, his eyes glazed and his voice turned raspy and far way. “It’s true that I don’t know anything about parents or siblings but when I’m with you I wonder if this is what it’s like to have a brother.”
He looked at his former best friend suddenly at a loss, suddenly curious. “Why go so far for me…?” Sasuke’s eyes bore into equally red, a lump forming in his throat.
“Because to me you represent bonds I’ve waited for so long to make…”

They stopped for a short break. Hinata was tired and in desperate need for a drink, luckily Naruto’s super human nose had found a peaceful river to refill their canteens. Hinata gulped down her water as fast as she could and wiped away the sweat forming on her forehead. She leaned against a large rock and looked over to where Naruto was sitting. He had taken off his over coat and stuffed it into his bag. She’d spent many of the miles they had traveled staring at his well toned muscles. He had grown up quite a bit since she’d last seen him.
Once was the shortest of their class, now he rivaled Kakashi-sensei in height. His shoulders had broadened too, he no longer had a boy’s body but that of a young man. He stretched, muscles rippling and contracting with controlled movements.
Hinata looked away before she was caught staring. “Naruto-kun?”
“What is it Hinata-chan?”
Her stomach had the nerve to growl. Loudly. Her cheeks flushed. “I-I’m kind of hungry.”
Naruto laughed, stood up and peeled off his shirt before jumping into the pond, causing as much noise as he could.
“Cannon Ball!” Water lapped up over the beach from the force of impact.
She watched as he wrestled a fish from the depths of the water, she giggled behind her hand and braced for the splashes of water.
“Hah! Caught ya!” He had a conquering grin smeared across his face, until the slippery fish flipped from his grasp. Naruto pouted.
The entire spectacle was too funny not to at least giggle. Before long Naruto caught at least three more fish and they were cooking them over an open fire.
The sun was setting and they had yet to get even a quarter of the journey behind them. They finished their meal and discussed their options over the fire.
“What the plan from here?” Naruto asked.
“Well, if we want to make it to the city anywhere near the time we should be then we can’t sleep and it’s terribly hard to travel at night…” Hinata chewed her lip trying to formulate a plan that would work to their best benefit.
Naruto's eyes were glued to her lips everytime she did that. An erotic pulse slithered through him, he reluctantly pulled his gaze away from her tempting little habit. She really needed to stop doing that. He shook his head and focused on the matter at hand. “We could use my frogs. They’ll do all the work and they go pretty fast.” Naruto shrugged.
“Okay, Naruto-kun, let’s do that.” She looked at him with complete confidence, entrusting her safety to him.
Naruto bit into his thumb and smeared it across the scroll, avoiding the feelings her looks were stirring in him. “Kuchiyose no Jutsu!” A popping noise sounded and an abnormally huge orange and blue frog appeared from the poof of smoke, a large necklace draped around his neck.
“Yo, Naruto, what’s up?”
“Hey Gama, we got a bit of a favor to ask you. I need you to carry me and my friend to the City of Sin. We need to be there by tomorrow night. Do you think you could help?”
The second largest frog didn’t seem overly enthusiastic but it wasn’t a big feat for such a large and powerful beast. “Why not? Climb on?”
Both ninja’s climbed on and the frog began moving. Naruto, who was accustomed to riding, was fine and soon found a place to situate himself. Hinata, however, was having a difficult time. Every time she moved her feet the frog hopped, it was hard to get anywhere when the floor underneath her was jerking away. She fell flat on her butt.
Naruto looked over and saw the girl struggling and walked over totally un-fazed and caught her elbows, picking her up and steadying her. The strength of his movements surprised her.
“I-I don’t know how..?” Hinata looked up at him totally at a loss of how to keep from falling. A little flustered because she was in such close proximity with him. She layed her palms against his chest to keep from lurching forward.
“It’s something you have to learn through experience, until you get it hold onto me.” He took her hand and set it on his shoulder and let go of her elbows, slowly walking to the top of the large moving frogs back and he gently helped her sit down. “See? You kind of have to let your body get used to the rhythm.”
Hinata tried but every time she let go of him she’d end up feeling unstable and grabbing back on to him.
She started chewing her lip again. She really, really needed to stop doing that. His heart hammered against his chest, tiny thrills were echoing through him as he continued to watch her. He closed his eyes and tried to refocus, yet again. Kami, but she was messing with his brain
Naruto took her by the elbows again, deciding this was going to be hard for her. “The best way to learn this is to lay on your back, you can still hold onto me.” They both laid back, taking off their bags earlier and strapping them down to the Gama’s necklace. As Hinata slowly got the hang of things she reluctantly let go of Naruto’s shoulder.
The boy seemed to relax after that, weaving his hands behind his head and sighing.
Hinata rung her hands together, she knew she was being ridiculous and needed to stop being so annoying. This always happened. “I’m sorry, Naruto-kun.” She said softly.
“For what?”
“For being such a burden.” She looked away from him, her downcast eyes causing her eyelashes to cast haunting shadows over her cheeks.
“You’re not a burden, Hinata-chan. Why would you say that?” He propped himself up on an elbow to look at the girl. Had she always felt so inadequate?
The usually quiet and timid girl had enough with this awful feeling that‘d been festering in her for so long. It rotted her heart in guilt and self-incrimination. “I can’t seem to do anything right!" She cried out, the last word broke from her sobs. "I’m such a bad ninja! I’m not fit to be the future of my clan! I wish Neji-kun would do it!” A tear slid down her cheek. She angrily wiped it away, disgusted with the weakness.
“Don’t let anyone tell you don’t deserve to be anything you want to be. Not even yourself.” Naruto voice was firm and his eyes were full of passion and determination. She's seen the look before, but when it was directed at her, she couldn't help to be mesmerized. His faith her made her feel like she could do anything. Is this how Neji felt that day? Is this what had pulled him back from the depths of his pain?
“You’re perfectly capable of being head of that household. You can do it, you just have to let yourself believe you can! And when you get up to that you can make it better! You can fix the things. Right wrongs…”
She knew of what he spoke. Neji. Neji and his horrible fate. She had never wanted that, she had hated it from the moment she knew of it. It hurt that he resented her for being born into the main branch.
Naruto plopped onto his back again, staring up at the blurs of trees and the large sky. The sun was setting and casting the sky into a spectacle of pastels.
Feeling a huge weight lift off of her heart. She signed watching the world pass her by in a blur of greens and with the gentle lull from the frog, soon Hinata was falling asleep. But with her no longer awake to hold onto anything, when the frog took a particularly large turn her body rolled into Naruto’s……
And completely startled the young ninja. “Hin-Hinata! What are doing?”
Confusion caused him to grab her shoulder and look down into her face. It was completely peaceful, her innocent face fragile when she was asleep. Gently he set her away from him and kept an eye on her so she wouldn’t roll in the wrong direction again.
They kept moving for a few more hours, it was well past midnight now.
“Gama!”
“What’s up, Naruto?”
“Hey let‘s stop here for a few hours. We’ll leave again at dawn, okay?” And with that they stopped. Naruto set up camp, laying out the sleeping bags closer together around the fire. He picked Hinata up from Gama's back and laid her out on the sleeping bag, tucking her under the top layer. When he tried to stand back up he noticed he was caught. Hinata’s tiny hands were fisted in his shirt. He gently pried them open and tucked them under her blanket with the rest of her.
* * *
The City looked as dangerous as its infamous reputation implied. Not a soul there looked even remotely innocent or clean. The streets were littered with drunks and drug users begging for money or food.
Hinata couldn’t pry her eyes away from the sight. Her mouth open in disbelief. Her heart went out to these pour souls, damned as they were.
Naruto’s eyes turned hard. He’d traveled through here once with Pervert-sensei. This town had not changed at all. He saw a couple of thugs eying Hinata with obvious impure intentions on their minds. He pulled her closer to him, grabbing her hand. He sheilded her body from sight with his, delivering them an unfriendly sneer.
“Na-Naruto-kun! What are yo-you doing?” This was highly embarrassing, he squeezed her hand, slowing down so he could talk to her quietly. He smiled gently, reassuring her.
“I want you close to me at all times. This town is bad news. You need to use the eyes in the back of your head.” He knew she'd get his meaning.
Hinata nodded. Naruto really had matured in more than one way, he seemed less silly then he did to years prior. Concealing her hand signs behind Naruto she summoned the technique under her breath.
“Let’s find Ero-sensei and get out of here.” He looked at all the buildings. Finding every saloon they could and asking various people if they had seen the man. With a few leads they continued their search to the upper class Gentlemen's Club.
They stopped outside the door. “No un-employed women allowed” was what the sign read. Naruto had to leave Hinata outside. He seriously did not like that plan. He sighed, there was no way around it. He pulled Hinata into him, locking his hands around her arms.
“You have to stay right out side the door. I’ll be back out in ten minutes tops.” They had carried only what they needed in one pack and had left the other one and all their other stuff concealed outside the city. He handed it to her. “There are weapons in the front pocket,” He whispered in her ear, trying to make it look like he was whispering something into a lover’s ear. He felt her shudder a little. The way she blushed was perfect. He grinned at her before walking inside.
After Naruto was gone suddenly Hinata felt acutely uncomfortable. Like she'd walked into battle blind, deaf, and defenseless. She’d noticed a few pointed stares but hadn’t thought twice since she was with Naruto. His loss caused a problem for her.
She saw a man starting to approach her casually from behind. The law held no place here so she knew if she didn’t have her guard up she’d wind up in a predicament. The man continued to inch closer to her as time passed. She tried not to shiver from disgust as she noticed a very perverted once over. She felt so dirty from it. His cloths were dirty and unwashed for weeks, maybe months. He was not going to ask for direction that was for sure.
Naruto should be back any minute and she guessed the man knew that too, so he finally made his move. He charged her, fully intending to take her by surprise.
The surprise was all his. She twirled on one foot, as graceful as a ballerina, but as precise as her occupation required. Her heel landed across his jaw and he went for a spin. The girl stood in a defensive pose, but not so dramatic that it blew her cover.
The man gave an evil snarl and charged after the girl again. Only to be punched in the face by none other than Naruto. He had walked out to find Hinata deliver one hell of a blow to the scumbag, now he was going to finish the piece of shit. He delivered another uppercut and the guy went down for the count.
“Nice job, Hinata-chan.” He grinned at her. Pride welled up in him, she was good.
“Thank you, Naruto-kun. Any luck?” She smiled, glowing from his praise. She bit her lips again.
Damnit. He dragged his eyes to the unconscious guy on the ground.
“I didn’t find him but I got a solid lead. He’s at the Cat’s Meow.”
“What’s that?”
Naruto grimaced, he really didn‘t want to tell her.
“A strip club.”
“Oh.”
