Chapter 4- Cobwebs of Glass in My Mind
I really liked the curry and the people at the curry shop were so nice but I have to say I loved the ramen the best but after a few bites I faded out of the world and my mind flew back to my life I had had and dearly missed in the hidden grass village. I had no memories of my family only a lot of heat, screams and many flames.
Lee started speaking to me so I replied with answers I didn't hear myself. I flew with my memories to the past. My sensei had adopted me after the fire had killed my family. After she had gotten sick and couldn't be a ninja any longer we left and lived outside the Hidden Grass Village in the forest. She still trained me although she could only perform gen-jutsu. The forest outside the village had beautiful meadows and I loved running through them. I couldn't feel the grass sweeping my ankles, the wind blowing through my hair, or even the sunshine on my face but it was still home. We were just out in the garden one day when the sky turned dark and someone grabbed us. I later met the snake, Orochimaru. He'd heard of my gift of my forever numb body and wanted to use it to his advantage. I just had to complete the one mission, he didn't promise to set me free but he would set my sensei free.
I thought again of the shocking bracelet around my arm and the chip in my leg. Orochimaru could kill me anytime he pleased.
"I have to finish this mission quickly," I thought.
"Kagami-san," a voice asked.
I pulled myself out my mind and looked beside me.
"Yes, Naruto-kun?" I asked.
"Are you going to finish your ramen?" he asked.
"Oh, sorry Naruto-kun I fazed out for a minute there," I said and quickly finished the bowl.
I sighed and stood up, at that moment both Naruto and Lee jumped up and asked me which I had liked better the curry or ramen. They both seemed to be pleading and being me I told the truth.
"I like the ramen best," I said.
Naruto shouted in glee and I think Lee was sulking?
I stretched and yawned, "I better find a hotel somewhere."
Lee immediately spoke up, "There is a hotel near my apartment, where you could stay."
"No way," said Naruto, "That's the Midoriame (Green rain) hotel, everything's green, you should stay at the Akakumo (Red cloud), it's close to my apartment, and at that hotel they treat you like royalty."
I pondered my choices for a moment.
"Considering I don't like being waited on hand and foot I think I'll stay at the Midoriame hotel, besides green is my favorite color," I said.
Before I could blink Lee was pulling me down the road. Naruto and Kaminari quickly caught up to us. I looked over at the sun centered in the sky and guessed it was about 2:00pm, there was still plenty of time left in the day.
"Kagami-san?" Lee asked.
"Huh? Sorry Lee-kun, I wasn't paying attention," I said.
"Where did you come from?" he asked.
I shrugged, "I do not remember."
"You don't know where you're from?" asked Naruto.
I shook my head, "My earliest memory is a few years ago I woke up in a hospital in Suna, I packed a bag that day, set out for the road and I've been moving from place to place since then."
"How'd you lose your memory?" asked Kaminari.
I shrugged again, "Never bothered to find out."
We made it to the Midoriame hotel but it turned out to be full, the same thing with Akakumo. I wanted to look for a different one a bit further away but apparently that wasn't to be.
"You could stay with me," said Naruto.
That earned him a punch from Kaminari strait up.
"You're an idiot," she said, "Why would she stay with you?"
I felt sorry for Naruto that he got punched so much by Kaminari.
"Kagami-san I would be honored if you would stay with me and Kaminari," Lee said giving me a thumbs up and a smile that sparkled.
I laughed at the strange but humorous pose.
"Oh, I don't want to be a burden I'm sure there has to be one hotel with an open room," I said.
"She is not staying with us," Kaminari said.
"Be nice imouto (Little sister)," said Lee.
"We don't have the room!" she yelled, "And don't think you're in control just because you're 8 minutes older."
"Forget this," I thought, "If it causes all this I'll just sleep in a tree."
With Naruto unconscious and Lee and Kaminari arguing I easily slipped away. About a half an hour later I did find a big, amazing room at the Aoitora (Blue tiger) hotel not far from the curry shop which I went back to an hour later. I wondered if the others noticed I'd left.
