Chapter 12-Ramen Roll-Out
I heard Kaminari yell as Lee dragged me to a secluded section of the training field.
"Lee, leave Kagami-san alone!"
I patted my hand in the air signaling that it was alright but Kaminari still somewhat glared at us.
When Lee stopped dragging me he turned towards me slowly and looked really nervous for some reason.
"Lee-kun, is something wrong?" I asked.
He glanced at the ground for a moment then his gaze shot up to mine.
"Kagami-chan would -"
He was interrupted as Naruto sped in between us.
"Kagami-chan I heard you were out of the hospital, are you ok?" Naruto asked turning to me.
I smiled a small smile and nodded, "I'm just fine Naruto-kun, thank you."
"Want to get some ramen?" He asked and shouted at the same time while bouncing on his feet.
Engo, who had been sleeping on my shoulders woke up and jumped onto Naruto's head and nestled deep into his bright blonde hair.
"Apparently Engo wants to so sure I'd love to Naruto-kun," I said removing Engo from his head.
"YEAH! LET"S GO!" yelled Naruto running off and stopping at the edge of the training field, "Kagami-chan lets go!"
I shouted back, "I doubt the ramen will fly away."
"It might!"
I smiled and laughed a bit as I ran to join Naruto. We walked along the road and quickly headed for the ramen bar. After a few minutes of racing, I had won; we made it to the ramen bar. I ordered chicken, Naruto ordered beef and Engo took pleasure in devouring a mini bowl of shrimp ramen. It only occurred to me then that the idea of my new favorite food had completely took my attention away from Lee who had been trying to tell or ask me something back there. I laughed along with Naruto deciding to deal with it later. Engo ended up eating so much I couldn't pick him up, Naruto tried and was unsuccessful. Somehow Engo had found his way to a huge pot of shrimp ramen and no one could get him out of the now empty 8 gallon pot. I said I'd pay for the eaten ramen but the cook said he'd pay anyone who could lift Engo out of the pot. I simply suggested we turn the pot over and let him roll out which worked until he hit the wall and caused a shelf of bowls to fall. Workers caught some of the falling bowls but not all.
I glared at Engo, "Engo what do you have to say for yourself?"
He said, "The chicken has GLUE!!!"
I shook my head but smiled. After fixing everything and paying for a lot of broken things I told Engo I wasn't bringing him the next time I came.
He begged, "Please, please, please, please, please, please."
Naruto walked with me home as Engo fell asleep, thankfully his super fast metabolism caught up to him and I was able to carry him home in my arms.
"Tonight was awesome!" shouted Naruto.
"Yeah, despite the ramen shop charging us 3000 yen for those broken bowls," I said.
"That's ok," said Naruto, "They wouldn't upset me too much besides I'm their best customer."
I laughed, "Believe it?"
"Believe it!"
I looked out over a field as the sun set beyond the horizon.
"I love this place," I whispered.
Naruto looked at the field and then looked back at me, "This field is amazing at night, and the fireflies are really bright when they fly in between the flowers."
I tilted my head at him but smiled when his hyperactive smile lit the area up.
"Wow," I thought, "For a second I thought that wasn't Naruto-kun."
"You want to stay and see?" he asked still holding his executrix grin.
I laughed, "I'd love to Naruto-kun."
It wasn't long before the sun set and the night sky settled over Kohona. Naruto and I sat in the field waiting.
"I saw one," said Naruto, "Watch closely."
Naruto picked up a small pebble and tossed it into the flowers and a huge stream of light flew strait out of the flowers. The fireflies flew to the sky centering the moon inside their flight pattern.
"Naruto-kun this is amazing," I said looking down to ensure Engo was still wrapped in my arms.
We stayed until the fireflies settled down for their night. Naruto and I stood up, Naruto stretching and yawning.
"Come on we better get home," he said.
"Today was my best day ever Naruto-kun, arigato," I said as we came close to the Aoitora, thankfully they had kept my room in my name despite me ending up in the hospital.
"One of the best in my life," said Naruto.
"Only one of the best," I asked.
Naruto tilted his head the way I had and I had to admit that it was pretty cute.
After a moment he said, "Yeah, but it's on my top ten list."
I cheered, "Yes, I'm on a list!"
The road we were on forked and Naruto walked down the left yelling good bye. I waved back and walked onto the right road. I walked to the Aoitora hotel only to discover Lee was standing outside at the door.
"Lee-kun what are you doing here?" I asked.
Lee grabbed my hand and pulled me to the side of the building. When he released my hand I know I casted him a bewildered look. Movement along the road caught my eye, it was Kaminari.
Lee went to speak but Kaminari jerked him back away from me.
"Kaminari-chan what are you doing here?" I asked my puzzled eyes darting back and forth between them.
