Chapter 11

 

He was disoriented. Last thing he remembered was being chased by lightning. Now, he was in his five-year old body clutching his Wilk's PDD, and the orphanage was burning. He tried to find a way out, but they were all blocked. Then he looked at his hands. His left arm was entirely black and his hand was tipped with claws. He ran to a bathroom so as to look in a mirror. The left side of his face was black with a red eye. There was a ruby implanted in his left breast. But his right eye… It was different. Instead of white it was black; the iris had an outer ring of white, a thick ring of violet with six pinwheels like the Sharingan, an inner ring of red, then a pale blue pupil. “It can't be! Why would I have an eternal eye?” He thought. Just then part of the building collapsed. “Shit! I got to get out of here. But… Of course! I'll summon him!” His left arm dissipated as a large black Jackal appeared. “Get me out of here!” he yelled as he climbed onto the Jackal. The Jackal then bound through a wall, shattering it, and landed in the street. “Good, now let's find the Hokage, we need to figure out what happened” he said. They leapt to the rooftops and bounded towards the Hokage tower. The Jackal ran up the wall and came to a stop outside of the Hokage's office window. The Hokage was currently in a heated argument with one of the council members “Appears to be Santorum. What are…? Wait! Santorum is mouthing something about the demon…!? The bastard! He just said that they should be grateful that I was killed and the orphanage was a waste of money anyways! He appears to be getting dragged out by a dog Anbu. Thanks Kakashi-sensei” The Dog Anbu came back in, but before he could speak Naruto knocked on the window. This startled the occupants, since when they looked, they saw him and his Jackal. The Anbu headed over and opened the window.

“Thank you Kakashi. We need to talk Sarutobi-Sama” said Naruto as his Jackal carried him in. He then got down and sat in one of the chairs in front of the desk. “Take a look at this” he said as he threw the PDD to Sarutobi, “It better explain what is going on, since I haven't had time to look at it”, the Jackal sat down on his haunches next to Naruto's right hand.

“This appears to be a message from the Chikage. It says here that they discovered someone, probably Orochimaru, had attempted to kill your past self, so they fused you together so as to save the both of you” said Sarutobi, who looked surprised.

“Well, I guess that explains why I went from celebrating my sixteenth birthday for a second time to being in a burning orphanage. Continue reading”

“This is incredible! It shows all the events from your twelfth birthday leading up to Sasuke Uchiha becoming a missing ninja. It even details how Orochimaru will slaughter the Uchiha clan to gain the power of Itachi, but fails and is relegated to attempting to mold Sasuke”

“Hmm… It seems to be pretty concise. Anything else?”

“It has a video intended for the Demon Hidden in the Mist, Zabusa, and a video for Temari no Sabaku, the eldest child of the Kazekage. This is very serious. Based on this, we are going to be ill prepared for an invasion”

“Not precisely. The video likely is to let Temari know that Orochimaru betrayed them, and convince Zabusa to join us. And also, we have a seven-year head start on Orochimaru. So we have the advantage. You should probably contact Tsunade and Jiraiya. We will want them to stand by you against Orochimaru when the time comes”

“I see. This is very important”

“I know. Now, I need somewhere to sleep, since my home was just burned down”

“Hmm… There is an abandoned apartment complex in pretty good shape that I could set you up in”

“That will be fine, for now. Hopefully no one tries to burn it down like my last home”

“I'll make sure that there is an Anbu on watch at your home from now on. We can't let people think they can get away with arson. But what am I supposed to do about the orphanage? It will seem quite strange that none of our ninja saw anyone burn it down in broad daylight”

“Tell them about Santorum. You can even use the video feed that the Uchiha's installed to show how Santorum talked about demons, and wastes of money, and any other bullshit he might have said. I'm quite certain they would cooperate, if you told them you weren't going to have them strung up by their intestines. Now about that apartment…”

 

As the world turned, things went as they had. Naruto decided to play the role of the Dobe again so as to better antagonize the fools in the council. He enjoyed it immensely, since by all accounts he was a struggling student and was in a public area when the pranks were pulled, whether it was school, at Ichiraku's, or at the store. So pretty much, the council was forced to suspect that one of their proud ninja was attempting to get Naruto in trouble, but had very bad timing. As the Gennin exams drew nearer, Naruto grew restless. He knew that for the plan to work he would have to fail the exams, which disappointed him, since he really wanted to pass them on his own merit, instead of earning it the other way. But, that is the way things are, and they needed proof as to Mizuki's betrayal.

 

The Gennin Exams…

 

As per the plan Naruto failed, though only because of his inability to create a clone. (And to those that wonder, they ask for a standard clone, which is why Shino didn't create a bug clone, despite his better skill with it. So, Naruto wouldn't have been able to pass anyways, even if he had learned the Shadow Clone Jutsu beforehand. He just doesn't have enough chakra control for a normal clone, at least not normally. The Naruto in this story has a 177% chakra control rating, so he could pass, though it is only because of his training with the Dark Heart and Chikage that it is above what it is in the series) As usual, Mizuki approached Naruto and revealed a secret way to pass the Gennin exams. Naruto did his thing and distracted the Hokage while he `stole' the Forbidden Scroll and headed into the forest. This time around, he decided to learn some useful seals so he could help Gaara. The day wore on as Naruto studied. When he sensed Iruka in the forest he decided it was time to put his plan into action.

“Naruto, what have you done!?” yelled Iruka when he appeared.

“Just reading up on some seals. The Hokage didn't mind if I took the scroll here, since I am under constant surveillance by the Anbu, and it might have gotten noisy in Konoha if I practiced there” he replied

Just then, he heard the tell-tale spin of a shuriken headed their way. “It seems Mizuki doesn't want you to be around much longer, Iruka-Sensei” Naruto said as the Fuma Shuriken got caught in some nin-wire. “Now, now Mizuki, it isn't nice to throw shuriken at your friends”

“You're smarter than you look brat. Perhaps the Kyuubi hasn't rotted your brain quite as much” Said Mizuki when he appeared.

“Mizuki! How could you say that! It is forbidden!” yelled Iruka

“Yeah Mizuki. You know it means death to say that. Well Mizuki, I guess I'm going to have to punish you” said Naruto as he performed a strange hand sign “Manichi: The Fevered Dream” he yelled as Mizuki became paralyzed. “Now, what is your purpose here, today?” he asked

“My-my purpose is to steal the Forbidden Scroll and to take it to Iwa” said Mizuki, who was obviously in pain.

“That is all I guess. You are free, but not for much longer. Anbu, take him away” he said as two Anbu appeared and grabbed Mizuki and shu-shined away.

 

The next day…

 

All the students had gathered at the school to await their team appointments. When Iruka entered he gathered their attention. “Ok students. The Team Appointments are as follows; Team 7 is Sasuke Uchiha,”

Sasuke went Ne

“Sakura Haruno,”

Sakura giggled while Inner-Sakura did a dance for joy.

“And Naruto Uzumaki”

Their was a collective huh as the class assimilated what he said.

“But Iruka-Sensei,” said Sakura, “Naruto didn't pass the exam yesterday”

“That's because he didn't need to. He passed it on his first try seven years ago. We were just waiting until the rest of the children his age passed. Isn't that right, Naruto?” he asked while looking up.

They all stared at the ceiling. Standing their was Naruto, but instead of his usual orange jump suit he wore a dark blue pair of cargo pants and a black muscle shirt with the Uzumaki swirl on the back and a strange seal that said Mizuchi with nine radiating lines on the front.

“That is correct, Iruka-Sensei” he replied modestly

“Team eight is Shino Aburame, Kiba Inuzaka, and Hinata Hyuuga. Team nine already exists, so Team ten is Ino Yamanaka, Shikamaru Nara, and Chouji Akimichi. Now wait in your appointed class rooms for your new senseis.

 

An hour later…

 

“You're doing well at annoying my team mates, Kakashi-Sensei” Naruto tapped.

“It is a test of patience. You must have patience if you want to succeed” Kakashi replied.

“You're dealing with the three least patient ninja of this class. You've seen me be fidgety for the past couple of weeks because of Mizuki. Sakura only has patience for Sasuke. And Sasuke, well, he is impatient to grow more powerful so he can kill Itachi. So more or less, we are going to have trouble. I could have told you that without traveling through time. Hold still, I think I want to sketch you lurking. It will be the best rendition of you, ever!” he then sat down, pulled out a piece of paper, and began drawing.

“What are you drawing, Naruto?” asked Sakura

“Just something I saw a while ago. Nothing important”

“Oh, ok”

Three hours later…

 

“Finished!” yelled Naruto

“Can I see?” asked Sakura

“Sure”

She looked at it “Hmm… who is it?”

“Oh, that's just Kakashi. He should be here soon”

“Huh?”

Just then, Kakashi came in. “The roof, now” he said

 

 

Ok, so this is short. And I haven't explained why Naruto has the Eternal Eye of The Dark Heart. If you are wondering, the Eternal Eye is a mix of multiple eye-based Kekkai-Genkai. It is not complete, since Naruto's lacks the benefits of the Yochigan from Soundscape, though that has more to do with my respect for that story and my unwillingness to attempt to write visions, since I am not really very good at coming up with alternate versions of events. Please review Soundscape. To tell the truth, I had the Idea for this story before I even heard of Soundscape and before Dead Man's Stand went back in time. In fact, it was last Thursday that I discovered Soundscape, talk about weird.

 

Super Happy Fun Ball! The Dark Heart's Kekkai Genkai is the Kekkai Daimyo (Bloodline Lord), so have a guess as to its powers.
