Chapter 5: Road trip!
Hinata woke up, once again, to the face of Sakura Haruno.
"She's waking up!" Sakura said excitedly.
"S-S-Sakura chan! What are you doing here?
"Well, Tsunade-sama said the Akatsuki might go after Naruto, so she said we could go too!
"We?" Hinata asked dazily. She looked around and saw the faces of Ino Yamanaka and Kakashi Hatake standing back, next to Naruto. She then noticed the two men reading"Icha-Icha Paradise. The Hyuuga's white eyes widened. Sakura looked back to see what Hinata was staring at, and spotted the books. Reacting instantaneously, she threw a dirty look at Kakashi, and wound up at Naruto. She yelled one "PERVERT!" before punching him through a tree, 20 feet away. She then grabed the book he had dropped, pulled out a lighter, and incinerated it.
Then she turned to look at Hinata, smiling once again. "Congratulations, Hinata-san! You're finally with that baka!"
"Oh! Thank you Sakura-san!"
"By the way," Ino mentioned, cutting in, "You're still in charge of this mission"
"M-M-M-Me?" Hinata asked increduously, "but Kakashi-sama is a joûnin!"
"We're just escorts! But we've got to get moving. Are you coming?" Quickly, the two kunoichi helped Hinata up, and they started on the way. Before continuing to follow them, Kakashi walked up to Naruto, his eyes spinning, picked him up, and slung him over his shoulder, his eyes still glued to his book.

They had been walking for an hour when Naruto, finally recovered, called out "Stop!"
"What is it Naruto?" Sakura asked him.
"Sakura-san, do you remember the last time we were here?"
"No, should I?"
"This is where those mist village guys attacked Tazuna-san. I made my vow of pain at this very spot...wait a second!This is weird!This must be where it happened!" He gestured to the ground, where there were several scorch marks on the ground, and no plants within a meter of the spot. Kakashi looked down at the spot and commented,
"This is probably because of the kyuubi's chakra. It seems that the only thing that can survive with the chakra is...Naruto!"
"Whoa!" Naruto exclaimed. Hinata looked at him with renewed admiration.
"He is so amazing!" she thought.
