Chapter 4-It's a C-rank mission!Journey to the Land Of Waves!
The following week, after Hinata had returned from a successful mission, she was reporting to the godaime's office for her next mission.
"You'll be doing a C-rank mission" Tsunade said, lightly tossing the dossier across to the chuunin, "with a single genin. It's a delivery mission. You will b travelling to the land of waves. The genin is going with you because he has travelled to the land of waves before, and he knows the general area."
Hinata nodded her head in acknowledgement. "And which genin is this? I'd like to meet him if we are going to be doing a mission together."
Tsunade smiled impishly. "Oh, that won't be necessary. You know him well already. He's waiting at the village gates. Go now!"
Hinata saluted, then ran off, pondering who the genin could be. She hadn't really got to know any of the genin, as they were all highly inexperienced. The only genin she knew well enough was....no....it couldn't be....her eyes widened.
But as she approached the village gates, she saw that it was, indeed, Naruto.he was sitting with his back aginst the village gates a bouquet of roses in the crook of one arm, and a book in the other. He was so immersed in his book that he didn't notice Hinata walk up to him, not even looking up until she tentatively stuttered out:
"H-H-H-Hi N-N-Naruto-kun" Hinata groaned inwardly. It seemed that her shyness was back around him, though out of apprehension this time.
"Hinata!" Naruto exclaimed, quickly ptting his book back inside his bag-no, however, before Hinata spotted the words "Icha Icha" on it. She blushed, knowing exactly what those books were. She noticed that Naruto had stood up, and was holding the roses out for Hinata. The raven-haired girl, of course, was taken aback.
"These are for you" he said nervously. Blushing profusely now, Hinata accepted the flowers.
"I was going to give them to you last week, but then I saw you with..." Naruto's voice trailed off. " Sasuke came to see me yesterday. He helped me realize that we both need toget on with our lives. Originally, the roses were going to be an apology, but now I think they will serve a much better purpose." He paused, then taking her hands in his own, he murmured, blushing, "I've never been good at this, but...Hinata, will you go out with me?"
Hinata turned a deeper red than she ever had before. She fell over and fainted, but not before uttering a soft "yes"
