Chapter 13: You can't have him
The moon rose full that night. Naruto and Hinata had found a hollow tree, and were resting after a hard day of scouting. There had been no problems, save for a large jaguar which Naruto had quickly killed. They had saved some of the meat for food, then buried the rest of it. After Hinata had elected to be the first night watch, Naruto went to sleep, leaving the Hyuuga sitting alone, peering out into the darkness. A voice, coming suddenly from behind her, startled her.
"So you chose to ignore my words, did you?" Hinata stiffened. Even with her byakugan, she had not even noticed him. but there he was again....Uchiha Sasuke.
"So, a-are you just going to threaten me again?" Hinata sneered, revealing only the faintest bit of fear in her voice.
"No," the missing nin smirked evilly, "this time, I'm going to kill you." In a flash, he was behind Hinata, holding his sword to her throat.
"Wait," Naruto suddenly spoke from behind them. Sasuke turned, and shifted his gaze to him.
"Ah, so you're awake, usuratonkachi."
"Yeah, and what do you think you're doing, 'ttebayo?"
"I don't need to give YOU a reason."
"Sasuke, if this is about--"
"Don't"
"Sasuke, we're finished. Actually, we never really got a chance to start. You left before I had a chance to tell you how I felt, and you betrayed Konoha. But Hinata and I...we love each other. There's something special between us, something you may never understand. And, you will...not...HURT HER!"
In a flash, the kunai that Hinata kept concealed in her sleeve was in her hand, and she brought it back into the surprised Sasuke, plunging the knife deep into his stomach. Then, seizing her opportunity, she grabbed his wrist and threw him over her own shoulder.
Sasuke flipped around in the air and landed on his feet, before falling to one knee and coughing up a bit of blood. Quickly, he wiped off his mouth and charged back at Hinata, his sword at the ready. She was prepared this time however, and settled into the position to do the divine whirl. Before he reached her, however, a kage bunshin of Naruto tackled him to the ground.
Sasuke sliced away the bunshin, and charged at her again. activating his curse seal and charging a chidori.
"Now, you're going to pay for that, you slut!" (A/N FORGIVE ME HINATA-DONO!!! I DON'T THINK THAT YOU'RE A SLUT AT ALL!!!!!!)As he brought his chidori forward to attack her, she performed the divine whirl, and their chakra met. It seemed like Sasuke's attack was about to pierce through, but at the last second, he was repelled, and both combatants were thrown back. Hinata's head hit a jutting out stump, and she fell to the ground, not moving, as a trickle of blood started to trail down her face.
"HINATA!" Naruto screamed out. Turning to face Sasuke, he roared out in anger.
"YOU BASTARD!" he screamed out. Angry red chakra seeped out of his body, but soon after, it diminished, and disappeared.
"What, no kyuubi this time?" Sasuke smirked.
"Nuh uh. This time, I'm gonna beat you to a pulp with my own power, dattebayo!" Focusing his chakra, he created several kage bunshin.
"Then I'll beat you again with MY own power!" he deactivated his curse seal, then powered up another chidori. Seeing this, Naruto and his clones prepared a fuiton rasengan.
As the two teens ran at each other, memories flooded through Naruto's mind. He remembered Sakura, in tears until Naruto had promised to bring Sasuke back. he remembered how Hinata, once so shy and timid, had trained everyday, and had finally summoned the courage to tell him her feelings. He remembered what Kakashi had told him after the fight with Tobi, about what Hinata had done.
Hinata-chan, you've always done so much for me, but because of me, you seem to be getting hurt all the time. This time, though, I'm gonna protect you, no matter what. And I'm gonna bring Sasuke back for Sakura.
At that moment, their attacks met, and the wind emitted from Naruto's blew the tree apart. Unlike the last time, however, their attacks didn't cancel out. Naruto's rasengan cut right through the chidori, and connected with Sasuke's shoulder blade, severely damaging it.
Sasuke fell back, clutching his shoulder in pain. Quickly ripping off a strip of cloth, he wrapped his shoulder tightly in ti, then did some hand signs.
"Katon! Goukakyuu no jutsu!" A fireball erupted from his mouth. As Naruto saw it approach, he quickly threw a kunai with a tag near Hinata, and in a lfash, he was next to her. He quickly picked her up, threw another kunai, and flashed away from the path of Sasuke's attack.
"Heh, seems like you've gotten stronger! but I doubt that it's enough." He pulled out several shuriken, throwing them at Naruto. The blonde quickly countered them with stars of his own. Sasuke saw the opening, though, and ran at Naruto. Taken aback at his move, Naruto recovered quickly, and used a kage bunshin to jump over Sasuke's head.
Next he created several clones, surrounding Sasuke. 2 of them punched him back. Seeing the combo, however, Sasuke used the momentum at which he was going to do a backflip. step on two of the Naruto's heads, pull out shuriken, and hit the one above him. As they all disappeared with a poof, Sasuke smirked.
"You need some new moves, dobe."
At this, the Naruto in front of Sasuke grinned. "I have some." At this , a Naruto squatted behind Sasuke began his attack. "SUPER SECRET SASUKE RETRIEVAL COMBO! 10,000 YEARS OF AGONY!" At this , Naruto used a kunai held bewteen his outstretched forefingers to stab Sasuke in both of his calves, causing him to fall to the ground, crying out in pain.
"Face it Sasuke, you've lost."
"Not quite yet, Naruto!" His good hand crackled with electricity. "Chidori current!" at this, he sent the ball into the ground, causing a shockwave to rip towards Naruto.
Quickly, Naruto performed some hand signs. "Fuiton! protection of the cyclone wall jutsu!" Immediately, Naruto was surrounded in a dome of solid air, neutralizing the effects of the electricity.
"If that won't work, I'll attack the bitch you care so much about! (A/N TT^TT PLEASE forgive me, Hinata-dono TT^TT) He pulled out a kunai, preparing to throw it at the unconscious girl.
"NO!" Naruto thought quickly. he was drained of chakra from using the fuiton attacks, and throwing a kunai to deflect it ran too big a risk that he would miss. Quickly, he came to his decision.
He pulled out a group of shuriken and threw them at Sasuke. Using the kunai, he deflected them all easily, but he didn't see Naruto move until it was too late. Naruto ran at him, dropping a kunai out from his sleeve and bringing it into Sasuke's remaining arm.
"Heh, it looks like i finally beat you, unless you wanna try and headbutt me till i get knmocked out, dattebayo!"
"Damn you, usuratonkachi. " at this, he fell unconscious.
Quickly, Naruto pulled out some ninja tread and tied him up, then ran over to Hinata. Stripping off his vest, he placed it under her head, then removed his shirt to make a makeshift bandage her her. That accomplished, her fell unconscious next to her.
