The Konoha hotel was an absolutely massive complex consisting of several large swimming pools, slides, bars, fifteen go-karting courses and much more...

 

"Wow... this is... wow" said an open-mouthed Sakura.

 

Team 7, fully assembled this time had just arrived.

 

Lee, Neji and Tenten were already seated on their bags in the expansive lobby. It seemed Neji had said something to upset Tenten and Lee was frantically trying to play peace keeper. Sakura quickly jumped in to lend a hand and swiftly lead Tenten away. Naruto and Lee instantly picked up a spirited conversation; Lee had mastered a new taijutsu and was eagerly demonstrating it. Sasuke went to sit by Neji, Neji welcoming his quiet demeanour.

 

Team 8 soon arrived and Kiba joined Naruto and Lee's conversation, he humorously recounted an episode from morning training when Akamaru had "accidentally" urinated in Kurenai-sensei's mouth during a Dynamic Marking exercise. She was apparently furious, so Kiba tried his best to keep his voice down. Hinata joined Sakura and Tenten who had calmed down a bit, they were throwing coins into the fountain and making wishes. Shino avoided everybody and instead went to bugger a bug or two by himself.

 

Ino, Shikamaru and Chouji were the last to arrive this time. As you might expect, Ino joined the rest of the female shinobi by the fountain. Shika and Chouji sat down on the ornamental rocks and had a quiet chat, Shika sipped on a kool-aid while Chouji pretty much demolished a whole roast chicken.

 

"Hokage-sama said since I'm the only Chuunin, I have to greet the representative for the Sand... tsk... so troublesome...” moaned Shikamaru...

 

In no time at all, 12 noon rolled up and on cue a coach pulled up outside.

 

"That's them... *sigh* I better go" Shikamaru rose to his feet and made his way over to the doors, depositing his finished drink in the trash. As he emerged out into the sunshine, he was confronted by a smiling Tsunade.

 

"Ready to say hello to our guests then?" she grinned.

 

"Meeh" replied Shika. "This better not get anymore troublesome...” The doors on the coach swung open with a *swish*

 

"I understand you two have met?" Tsunade watched as Shikamaru's eyes opened wider...

"Temari..??"

 

"Yo...” grinned Temari, "Long time, no see huh, Shika-kun?" Shikamaru was lost for words, he thought he'd see her at least once over the course of the weekend, but hadn't expected to see her so soon.

 

"Uh... Welcome to Konoha..again" he held his hand out to Temari expecting a shake, however she didn't take it and instead planted a formal, business-like peck on his cheek. Once again Shikamaru was lost for words and cursed the troublesome nature of the situation under his breath. Suddenly a familiar voice boomed out from the direction of the hotel

 

"Yah-haa!! Shikamaru, I didn't know you were such a smooth guy!!" Kiba had come outside and was beside himself laughing.

 

"Tsk... troublesome...."

 

Tsunade, followed by Shikamaru and Temari led the Sand Genin through the entrance and into the lobby where the rest of Konoha's Genin awaited. Shikamaru went back to his team and Tsunade signalled for the Sand to join everybody.

 

"Welcome, Sand Genin..!! The purpose of this weekend as some of you may already know is to build stronger relations between Konoha and Sand, so if you would, please integrate, mingle and mix with each other, forge new friendships and have a great time, all facilities are paid for and all areas open for your enjoyment. If you all go over to reception now you will receive details of the sleeping arrangements. If anyone has any problems there will be several Chuunin available to assist you, thank you!!"

 

On that note, Tsunade left in a poof of smoke...

 

"Did you hear that, Akamaru?!? All facilities paid for!!" *Raff*.. Kiba looked as if he was about to explode. Naruto and Lee made eye contact, their eyes had grown so wide by now, they looked like four rasengans, and the two darted instantly over to reception.

 

Sakura, Ino and Tenten started introducing themselves to one or two Sand girls. Hinata however was silently watching Naruto and enjoying his show of enthusiasm with Lee. Sasuke grabbed his bag and quickly hurried off to reception as suddenly a group of Sand girls came his way and in Sakura-esque fashion, went to pot over his "coolness".

 

At reception, Iruka-sensei was stood with a box full of keys.

 

"Okay, everyone if i could get your attention please..." The Genin fell silent once again, "Thank you, now you will all be split up into rooms of six, three from Konoha and three from Sand. Pick a key at random and then go get comfortable!"

 

"Ya-hah, let's go, Akamaru!" Kiba grabbed his key and headed off to find his room. Naruto was up next,

 

"hehe let's see...” he thrust his hand in and grabbed his key, "3A huh? Hope I get someone good!" he thought as he too walked off to find his room.

 

"Looks like I'm next... Gai-sensei, I'll do my best!!" It was Lee's turn and he spiritedly grabbed his key with a speedy swipe.

 

Naruto soon arrived at room 3A, put his key in and opened the door... The lights were off and the curtains drawn... "Hello..? Guess I'm the first here. As he slung his bag onto the bed his attention was suddenly alerted to a shadowy figure standing on top of the wardrobe...

 

"Yah-ha!! Naruto!!!!!!" It was Kiba! He jumped down and threw his bag onto one of the beds. "Guess we're room mates" "hahahaha!!"

 

The two laughed out loud, then suddenly there was a noise at the door... Somebody was turning a key in the lock... A shiny bobbed head emerged from the light outside...

 

"Fuzzy Brows!!!!" shouted Naruto...

 

Back at reception, everyone had finished picking keys and the lobby was deserted. Shikamaru had luckily picked the same room as his good friend Chouji and also Sasuke. Shino and Neji were sharing with a Konoha Genin they weren't familiar with and three Sand. Sakura found herself sharing with Hinata, one other Konoha girl and three Sand. Ino, Tenten and another Konoha girl were greeted by Temari and two Sands upon entering their room...
