The Hinata Chronicles
-------------------------
The Seal Is Leaking
-------------------------

Her head was spinning. The darkness around her was slowly fading. Hinata opened her eyes only to look at four white walls.
Here again. She sighs. She noticed voices outside the wad. Straining her ears till the voices were audible she recognizes them.

“Hokage sama, you have no authority over this issue. It relates to the Hyuuga Clan and thus it is expected that you do not intervene.” Hiashi's voice was stern.
“Hiashi sama, I have no intentions of intervening or intruding in any clan's private issues. But your request is unacceptable. I will not allow this. The price to pay is too costly.” Tsunade's hands were crossed.
Neji felt his blood tensed as his uncle `negotiated' with the Hokage. He never accepted the idea of Hiashi's desire to have The White's spirit removed. Spirit by name, in truth was The White's chakra that remains sealed within Hinata's body. Due to the tendency of being unstable, the chakra was thus called a spirit. Removing the phoenix might mean loosing Hinata's life.
Neji tried to make his uncle reconsider but it was useless.

“Hiashi sama, what about Hinata?” Neji's voice was slightly louder than what was leveled `respectful'.
“Neji, mind your tone.” Hiashi silenced his angered nephew.
“Indeed, The White Phoenix has a greatly feared power. But remember, just as this house has been passed down to me by my father who was passed down by his father and his father's father, Hyuuga is out heritage.” Hiashi paused.
“We carry a heavy responsibility. Hinata's very existence has broken many of these strong roots.” Hiashi's voice was merciless especially at the mention of his oldest daughter. Neji understood what his uncle was saying.

It wasn't all untrue. In fact the death of Neji's father was somehow connected to Hinata. The fragile relationship between Cloud and Leaf had been on the brink of collapse also involved a certain Hyuuga heiress. The strain between the branch family and head was challenged also because of her.

“We must learn to make the right choices.” Hiashi finished as he dismissed his nephew.

End of Flashback

The door slammed opened. Hinata walked out. Her eyes were white. All three were taken aback and took a step back. Hinata had an evil flare in her eyes. Suddenly the windows of the wad banged open and the wind blew through Hinata's dark hair.

“I'm not going anywhere” the voice was foreign. It was feminine, but unlike Hinata's, this voice pierced the ears of those who listen.
All three held their hands to their ears trying to shut the piercing sound.
She opened her mouth to release a shocking amount of white chakra sending the three back slamming to the wall. The chakra was bitter and did not inflict any physical wounds. Emotionally, they felt the fear and immobilizing tension.
“I like this body and I will remain here as long as I wish, if otherwise you will not only loose this precious girl…” “Hinata' looked at Tsunade.
“you will also loose, your village.”
All eyes widened, they knew what she meant. Tsunade asked anyway.
“What are you going to do?”
“Nothing. Not now, but remember, Hokage. Shinju's lost weren't regretful because they disserved it.” Her piercing voice faded as the white fire around her faded from Hinata as she closed her eyes. The wind calmed down and Neji rushed to catch the collapsing body. He carried her to the bed.

The Shinjus unsealed The White within their family member causing them to be cursed so many centuries ago. Many thought it was only a legend. Guessed they thought wrong.

“It is settled, Hiashi.” Tsunade didn't bother with the formalities.
“Without Konoha here will no Hyuuga, Your fathers played their role, don't break that tradition.” Tsunade said as she exited the corridor walking past the medics who were rushing towards Hinata's wad.

Back in the room, Neji watched as the medics examined Hinata's condition. He couldn't help being relieved that Hinata's life wouldn't be in danger.
“Neji, we're leaving” Hiashi's voice was from outside the wad. The Hyuuga head never once stepped into his daughter's wad.
As they walked home, Hiashi spoke.
“I know you are happy, Neji. Whatever you have in mind will not come to pass. You are of the branch and your purpose is to protect the head. Remember this Hanabi's the heiress. Your duty is to protect her.” Neji only looked ahead. He sensed whatever's coming next wouldn't be very pleasant.
“I will suggest that the council allow a marriage between the head and branch. Your leadership skills are needed. Unlike Hinata, you can lead the Hyuuga.” Hiashi's voice was emotionless.
Neji was shocked. Could it be? Than Hinata sama.. Neji couldn't finish.
“Like I said, it is not what you have in mind. If this suggestion is accepted, you will wed my daughter and that seal be removed at the birth of your first child together_.”
Neji almost lightened up, that is until his uncle added the last part.

“With Hanabi.”

Neji's eyes widened. He froze unable to coordinate his limbs properly. Hiashi walked on.
“You are excused.” He walked through the Hyuuga entrance and disappeared behind the door.

Hanabi? No. This cannot be happening. Hiashi! That's too much, no. Neji understood that this is an opportunity of a life time. No branch ever had the opportunity of being unsealed. He was lucky, and yet he felt like the most cursed man in the world.
Why is fate so cruel? No mater how far I try to run and make my own path, you always get in the way! For the first time in many years Neji didn't know what to do.

Meanwhile,

After the previous battle, all those who survived had been given three days to recover before resuming the matches. It was told that the Kazekage would travel all the way from the desert to witness the next match. Kin and Tamiko were among the gathering crowd that rushed to the notice board to read the names of the last four contestants.

Sakte Gibiki of the Wind
Hyuuga Hinata of the Leaf
Uzumaki Naruto of the Leaf
Shinju Kin of the Cloud
~Opponents would be set on event day~

“Kin, I guess Hinata's Leaf now. Do you think she'll come back with us?” Tamiko asked there was a hint of sadness in his voice.
“I don't know, I guess probably. This is her home.” Kin's voice was soft. Trying to change the topic, Tamiko made a random statement.
“I can't believe that baka made it to the last four.” Tamiko said angrily folding his hands.
“I wonder who I'll be up against. Maybe I'll get to fight `the baka'” Kin played along. She really was wondering. Concerning the fact that Naruto was trained by a sannin. She wanted to see where she stood among the elites in Konoha.
“Yea, if you do kick his ass, and kick it hard! I hate him! He makes Hinata blush.” Tamiko was still in his tantrum.

“Are you talking about Naruto?” Sakura asked from behind. She was smiling.
Tamiko jumped back.
“Er, eh, I was, er.” He was stammering. Kin giggled.
“It's alright. He's a baka anyway.” Sakura said as she walked pass him to look at the board. Tamiko sighed in relief. He recalled someone telling him that the pretty pink haired girl was trained under the Hokage herself. And that she had a monstrous strength, that one hit could render someone unconscious. The thought of what Naruto goes through everyday made him shiver.

“Here to visit Hinata?” Kina asked
“Eh, actually Naruto's in the hospital too. He overdid it again.” Sakura said feeling rather embarrassed by her teammate.
“As usual” Sai added. Both Kin and Tamiko wondered what they meant by `overdoing it'”
“Tell me, is he really that strong? I heard he was trained under Jiraiya, one of the legendary sannin. Like you, ne Sakura san?” Kin asked. Tamiko shot back. He glared at his sister for not filling him in about `this detail'. He breathed in relief being grateful he didn't take the blond head on, at the time they were arguing.

Suddenly, a huge gush of wind blew past them and a bright light shot out from a hospital window. Hinata's window. A loud and sharp voice was heard piercing through the air.
At the mention of `Shinju' by the voice, both Sai and Sakura turned to look at the two Shinju siblings who suddenly became tensed. All four ran towards the hospital. They guessed that almost the entire Konoha heard `it'.

Upon entering they saw Hiashi and Neji leaving. As they ran up the stairs, both Kin and Tamiko hoped that Hinata was alright and under control. They waited at the entrance before entering. If the phoenix saw them, a Shinju, she would definitely kill them. They remembered what happened two years ago.

Flashback

Yuu laid on the ground his hands on his heart breathing heavily. He was bleeding from deep wounds all over his body. Kin and Tamiko were already unconscious. If she doesn't win this, we're all dead.
“Hinata control is everything.” Yuu shouted.
Hinata was engulfed in white flames. The White's chakra was leaking out. It was bound to happen. What Hinata needed to do was past the test, only then can all of `her' chakra be under Hinata's control.

The coast was clear. Hinata was lying on the bed. Sleeping.
“What was that?” Sai asked.
“It was The White. Hinata's the Shinju's heroin. Her sacrifice had set out clan free.” Kin's voice was solemnly quiet.
This new knowledge was quite a shocker although not many knew about the ancient legends. Sakura, Sai and probably the entire Konoha's getting used to being shocked since Hinata's return. Wonder if Naruto noticed. Kin thought suddenly remembering the `baka'.
