It's has been a whole week since Hinata's first appearance in Konoha. People were getting used to her new personality as well. However, none were brave enough to seriously confront her about the drastic changes.

 

Hinata went on living in the apartment for chunin contestants. All those who passed the first test were automatically valued in the field on their fitness to become a chunin. So even if she were to loose, she would still make it as a chunin if the `hidden' examiners saw her fit.

 

The examiner on the field announced the next battle.

“And now the last battle for today, Shinju Tamiko and Hyuuga Hinata.”

Both of them exchanged looks. At first they didn't suspect anything, not until Kin and another guy was called opponent. She took out the sand guy with a very loud victory. The only ones left were the two of them. Who would have guessed that only one of them could make it through. Both stepped into the battle field.

 

“Heh, I guess it's inevitable, ne? Hinata chan.” Tamiko teased while tightening the bandages on his hands.

“I won't go easy on you. Tamiko” Hinata replied.

Yuu sat back. This is going to be interesting. I waited so long. Finally. Give me a good show guys and make me proud..

 

“Naruto, what's going to happen? Hinata's fighting someone from her own team. Is it even allowed?” Sakura asked as they watched from the audience box. Naruto didn't have an answer.

“No, it's fair that the chunin exam changes every year. Otherwise people would find ways to cheat.” Sai said.

“Sakura, what would happen if I had to fight you?” Naruto's voice was serious.

 

“Otou chan, isn't that Hinata sama's friend? Who do you think is stronger?” Hanabi asked.

“Yes, that is her comrade from cloud. I have a feeling something unexpected is about to happen.” Hiashi replied.

 

“Begin”

 

Both of them yelled at the same time.

“Shinju Kin no Jutsu!”

The sky turned yellow, two cyclones of yellow cloud were forming above their heads. The wind was rustling strongly. Even the audiences were pushed back by the air pressure.

Tsunade took time off the office to witness Hinata's fight. Looks like it was worth it.

Both, Tamiko and Hinata held the same stance. Hands lifted up high. Within seconds pillars of clouds were shooting down from the sky. Both were golden in color, only different in shade. Hinata's were lighter. More yellow than golden.

“I can't believe you're using a cloud attack against a true legitimate Shinju!” Tamiko yelled. He half smirked.

“It was the least I can do.” Hinata motioned for the pillars to attack Tamiko only to have them blocked by a stronger, more golden pillar.

The sight was spectacular, dust was everywhere. The impact of the constant attacks was heard banging loudly in a constant beat.

It was as if the gods were fighting, using the golden clouds as swords.

An ongoing slashes and clashes stopped abruptly followed by a sudden lightness in the sky. The yellow wasn't as dark as before, only to prove that someone lost.

 

The crowd was silent as they wait for the dust to clear. There stood two figures facing each other. Tamiko was standing tall smiling, Hinata on the other hand was hunched over and breathing deeply.

“Told you” Tamiko said as he quickly made a few hand seals to summon a deadly gust of wind. Tamiko threw a dozen shuriken two at a time from all directions towards his opponent.

Hinata was caught off guard, Tamiko was fast, and had more stamina. She learned this over the years of training with him.

“Kaiten” She created a chakra force field around her as defense but didn't expect what was next.

As soon as she stopped spinning, a gush of wing embedded with chakra blew by landing deep cuts all over her body. She screamed in pain and fell to her knees to cover her face. The wind even cut off some of her hair and the ribbon holding it.

 

“What the hell is he doing? She's gonna get killed!” Naruto yelled as he stood up from his seat. He tensed. Naruto never thought those two had grudges against each other. He was enraged. How can he do this! About to leap down into the field, a hand held him down.

“Sai you bastard! Let go!” Naruto yelled.

“Calm down, she's not going to die. Look.” Sai said.

 

She stood up ignoring the pain. Her hair was down, Tamiko couldn't see her eyes, they were closed. What is she doing now? She smiled. I know.

Instantly within a blink of an eye Hinata was behind Tamiko using taijutsu, attacking him from all directions.

“Heh, I know you too well Hinata chan” Tamiko said as he ménage to avoid all of her attacks. Hinata's speed was blinding, like thunder she was aiming mainly for his hands and legs but he was just as fast.

Suddenly, another shadow of Tamiko appeared behind Hinata, landing a blow on her back. The wounded spot. With a scream Hinata stopped, and retreated after killing off the kage bunshin with a kunai and held her hands at her neck. She was in pain.

“That wasn't really necessary.” Hinata called. There was little tense in her voice, almost playfully.

Tamiko laughed aloud. All who heard it shuddered.

“I like to hear you scream.” He said eyes evilly looking at his comrade.

 

“What's going on? He sounds like he's trying to kill her.” It was Sakura's turn to feel uncomfortable. No one answered. Sakura could see the blond sitting beside her getting tensed. He's probably using all his strength to resist the urge to get down there and beat that jerk up. I would too.

 

Within another second, Tamiko was making hand seals and instantly the clouds above him rained down turning from drops of water into sharp needles. He winked.

Hinata looked up recovering from her injuries, and jumped out of the way towards Tamiko.

“Not too close Hinata chan!” he said as he leaped away from her. The trail of raining needles were gaining on her. She knew that this jutsu could kill the very shinobi that willed it. That was its only weakness. Damn it, I should used Juukin when I had the chance, that bakka's really trying to kill me.

“Show off” Hinata yelled as she leaped around avoiding those endless needles.

 

Being a Hyuuga, her body wasn't build for the constant strain of using Shinju jutsus. Her first attack almost drained her dry. Using Juukin would certainly internally damage her friend and she didn't want that. Guessed she should have saved herself the trouble. Now she was going to have to expose her improved bloodline power. Geez, what a baka.

“Time to scream Hinata!” Tamiko yelled. Just then a faster bigger cluster of needles rained down.

“Kaiten” Hinata squeezed her last drop of chakra from her body to reflect the needles.

The rain of needles bounced right off the force field towards Tamiko who leaped away.

 

“I'm tired of this, let's end it.” Hinata was now face to face with her opponent.

“Byakugan” As if on queue, Tamiko eyes widened then instantly clamped shut. His hands ands reached for the kunai in the holster and braced himself.

“What? Are you afraid?” Hinata's eyes were white. Pure white. The taint of grey that was there just two days ago was gone. Those were the eyes of The White.

 

Those who knew what it meant tensed. Tsunade motion for Kakashi to be on a stand by in case anything went out of hand. The White Phoenix might take over if Hinata allows it.

Better safe than sorry.

 

The audience wondered what was the big deal about her Byakugan that caused Tamiko to stop attacking and tremble like that. He was trembling.

Hinata took her time closing the distance between herself and her opponent.

Tamiko took a step back while throwing the kunai at her. He remembered the pain those `innocent orbs' could do. He didn't want to risk it. Hinata easily avoided them.

Neji suddenly realized that she just activated her Byakugan. A smart Hyuuga would activate it the moment they enter the battle ground. Then he recalled the `taint' within her. She was using The White Byakugan.

 

“Why the chicken?” Hinata was getting closer. Tamiko was about to reach for his holster when two hands caught them.

“You know it's useless, ne?” Hinata was holding his arms, only her hands were glowing with blue chakra. With a whim, she could easily paralyze him. He knew that.

“You're shaking Tamiko `chan'” she emphasized on the last word and landed an unexpected kiss on his lips. He opened his eyes. Completely exposed to the White Byakugan's powers. The audience paused. All of them were quite surprised at the two supposedly competitors that were now standing lip to lip under the public eye.

 

“What's she planning to do?”

“What the”

“Dad did you see that”

“Oh my god! They're kissing!”

“What's going on?”

 

To everyone's surprise tears rolled down Tamiko's widened eyes. Hinata released his hands and they instantly shot up to his head. Tamiko fell to the ground and grunted loudly in pain. The sounds were terrifying.

 

Hiashi was instantly reminded of his brother when he activated the seal in Hizashi's forehead many years ago. Tamiko was experiencing the same thing. Byakugan could do that?

 

What seem like forever when his pain faded away and the screams stopped. He raised his hand. “I give up”

The examiner confirmed and the audience roared.

 

Apparently Hinata used the kiss in order to get him to open his eyes. The `modified' Byakugan was only effective when there was eye contact. Hinata exploited Tamiko's weakness for her own gain. Tamiko knew what was coming, and tried to avoid it but she got the better of him.

 

He laid there hands apart recalling what had happened. She's good. A smile appeared on his tear stained cheeks as a familiar shadow blocked the sun. Real good. He reached up to take her hand allowing her to help him to his feet.

“You're evil” Tamiko commented.

Hinata took out her handkerchief to wipe the tears away. Tamiko reached up and took it from her.

“Really evil. What was the kiss for?” He said cleaning his face properly.

Hinata stared at him from the side. Their match was the last, and the audience were already leaving. Familiar faces were heading down.

“Hinata-aaaaaaa” Kin yelled as she hugged her victorious friend without noticing her wounds.

“Watch it Kin. That baka over there had to rub it in.” Hinata glared daggers for the pain he had deliberately caused her.

“Like to hear her scream eh? You're a pervert!” Kin accused.

Tamiko just grind sheepishly while rubbing the back of his head.

 

“Hinata! Are you alright?” Naruto asked as he arrived there. He shoved Tamiko aside and held Hinata by the hand with concern in his eyes.

Unexpectedly, Hinata blushed.

“I-I'm fine” She was quite shocked that she stammered. Tamiko noticed, his eyes turned green.

“Of course she's fine what do you think she is? Some weak-link?” Tamiko asked.

“Baka! Can't you see that she's a girl? A man must always be gentle. What if she get killed? Baka! Baka!” Naruto yelled.

“Cut it out Naruto.” Sakura scolded.

“They have been fighting together for a long time they know what they're doing. Here Hinata let me help you.” Sakura began healing Hinata's cuts. Hinata was still blushing.

Naruto and Tamiko starred daggers at each other until Sai stepped between them.

“I might check into the hospital if I were you, Tamiko san” Sai said. At that moment Hinata noticed him. Sai had mysterious eyes, they were emotionless. She found them interesting and oddly attractive. Just as Tamiko was about to leash out his reply that's when he suddenly closed his eyes and fainted. Sai caught him in time.

“Eh? Sai. How did you know?” Sakura asked.

Sai smiled at both Sakura and Hinata's direction, and at that moment Hinata forgot to breath. Sai allowed Kin to take her brother's body from him.

Naruto noticed that Kin carried a taller, obviously heavier Tamiko onto the stretcher. Wow, she's strong. What's her name again? Dim-witted as usual.

“I saw his legs shaking” Sai said, still smiling.

“Eh? Hinata? Hinata?” Sakura called. It seem she fainted as well.

“She must be really tired.” Yuu added as he reached forward to carry Hinata onto a stretcher.

Or was she?

Everyone there had the same idea. Probably except Sai and his dumb blond friend.
