Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ The Hybrid ❯ Chapter 2

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Okay! This was sitting on my computer for the longest time. But since I had one reviewer last chapter, I thought that this was not even being read. So, I decided to dedicate this to my reviewer, Angel Hoshiko. By the way, that's a sweet name. If you want to input anything, feel free. Since we think alike. Kakashi is a babe. ^^

Chapter 2. A dream. Dedicated to Angel Hoshiko.

Disclaimer: Man, I don't own Naruto. I wish I did. Cuz if I did, adult swim would totally have the rights to it. And the original context would be aired exactly how it was written in Japanese. It's funnier that way. And so much better. But Kishimoto-sama does, not me.

Anyways, enjoy! Yeah right. O.o()

“Suki-chan! Honey, wake up!” A Hyuuga mother was trying to wake her Uchiha daughter, but it wasn't working too well. Suki didn't hear her mother calling to her, since she was having one of those nightmares you usually don't wake up from until it's over. Her mother was trying to figure out what it was about, since Suki had gotten up three times earlier that night, and trashed her room. Now she was on the floor, sweating bullets. Her mother was worried, since six year olds aren't supposed to have really bad nightmares; they're still too innocent. But I guess that's not the case with ninjas… She was about to get up and leave, come back with her sleeping bag, and sleep next to her daughter, when Suki, almost too quickly to see, sat up, and screamed. Her mother tackled her, hoping to wake her up, and they both fell over. This woke Suki up, and she immediately started bawling into her mom's shoulder. “Suki, it'll be fine. I'm here now.” Her mother tried to say in her most `motherly' voice. She wasn't really good at it, since Suki was never around her. She was always with Tsunade, Jiraiya, or Orochimaru. God, she hated Orochimaru. He was always sneaking around, looking suspicious. And he was supposed to train Suki at the Hokage's training fields, not the `secret' one. The Hokage never even did anything to stop him. But it wasn't really secret anymore. At least not to this house, or the people living in it. She was so happy when she got to spy on Orochimaru-baka. He looked too weird to be human, but he was really strong. The Hokage's favorite, if she remembered correctly, and on the top of her `Hate' list.

~Flashback~

“Hyuuga Hayoto, you can never defeat me! Old Hokage-baka always favors me, and you are an arrogant, stuck-up, normal Hyuuga, to the council. Leave, before you lose disgracefully, and shame your clans' name. Oh, and before I forget, if I ever see you, or find out, that you've been trying to stop my plans again, I will not hesitate to kill you. Next time, I won't even let you try, to fight me”

Orochimaru laughed and limped away, leaving his opponent in a pool of her own blood…

~End Flashback~

“Grrr…”

“Something wrong, ne?” Hayoto was snapped out of her memories when she realized her daughter stopped crying, and was being crushed by the force applied to the hug the two were entangled in. “Mommy, you're crushing me” Suki coughed out. “Gomen, I must have spaced out again.” Suki looked into her mother's warm, colorless, eyes. She found that they were sad, angry, and yet, still sparkly at the same time. If there was one thing that her mom couldn't do, it was hiding her emotions from Suki. She could read them like a book.

Suki's eyes now looked cold, almost lifeless, and way too old for her six years. But Suki liked them that way. It was a good cover, if she was facing a tough opponent. They could never predict what she was going to do next, if they believed she could do anything at all. It's not every day that someone gets beat by a six year old. That gave her an edge, as well as an attitude. If she got beat, there was no seeing her for a few days. And when she came back, she could hardly walk. She never told anyone what she did, and no one ever tried to follow her, when she was away for those days after she lost. But it was too bad that that was what her nightmare was about. It started out just like any other random dream. Monkeys, kunai shaped ice cream bars, a super easy S-classed mission, and something about Kakashi running around with underwear on his head, in the background of the Hokage and Jiraiya waltzing in spandex.
Then it changed drastically. Most of it wasn't a dream, they were memories from earlier. When she was training with Orochimaru, or off on her `training/sulking sessions'.

Suki's dream

“Oh. My. God! MOM!” Suki yelled, and ran to her mother, tangled up, in a pool of her own blood. She put two fingers to her mother's neck, but her mom pulled them away. “I'll be fine.” She sat up. “Just, take…” She coughed “me to…” She coughed again. “Tsunade…” Thank Kami-sama she's alive…Hayoto drifted between consciousness and death the whole way there. But she was amazed that her daughter could pick her up and still run …

-With Tsunade-

“Tsunade-sama!!!! Where are you?! GET DOWN HERE NOW!!!” Suki screamed urgently. Tsunade was walking down the stairs way too slow for Suki. “Hurry it up Woman!” This made Tsunade practically sprint down. “Who are you to command me, you lit-” She stopped dead when she saw who Suki was holding. “B-Bring her here Suki-chan” Tsunade cleared off her kitchen counter, and put the patient on it. “Go get washed off, you're covered in blood. You know where my shower is.” Suki stood there, waiting for her mother to do something, completely ignoring her sensei. “Get going! You're dripping blood all over my kitchen!” Tsunade waited impatiently for Suki to get moving. Neither moved. “What is your problem?! I can't even see my own mother when she's about to die?” Tears started to run down her face. For the first time in a long time, Suki showed emotion, and did it show. Tsunade chose to ignore Suki, and started to work on Hayoto. Suki saw this, and then went upstairs to finally take that shower. But, she had something else in mind. As soon as she felt Tsunade believed her genjitsu, she started sprinting to the Hokage's tower.

~Hokage's Tower~

Suki arrived, ready to barge in, and give out the Spanish Inquisition to the old geezer. She needed to know what was going on, and she needed to know now. Here, but startled by a continual, one sided, argument, she hid her chakra signature, and proceeded stealthily. Always curious, wanting to learn more, she crept ever closer, as close as she dared, to the room the loud exchange was taking place in. What's sensei and Sarutobi-sama fighting about now? Probably women again…She had to restrain herself from laughing at the memories that thought brought up. But as soon as her threatened fit of laughter passed, and she could concentrate on the argument, she knew it was definitely not about Jiraiya's favorite pastime. It was much different. And the only reason she didn't barge in and save her sensei the lecture, was because of her name. It was brought up at the exact moment she was about to burst through the doors.

“Jiraiya, you baka. How could you recommend Kana's team in the Chuunin Exams? Suki is on her team. That could cause some major upsets within the clans. Let alone the Nara's. What happens if she has to face one of them, or one of the scientists find out that it's the Uchiha Suki? You know I have no control over the experiments they run in secrecy. It's a miracle that the Council let the experiment take place.” Sarutobi finished with a sigh. Jiraiya, seeing his chance to defend his position, started to talk again. “But Sarutobi. You know as well as I do, the reason, I mean. If it weren't for her, the Uchiha and the Hyuuga clans would be at war. Our village would be devastated. And, we would be short one exceptional ninja. I have full confidence in Suki, let alone her team. You aren't going to be Hokage much longer, and Arashi already agrees with me. So does Tsunade. Let this pass. Please.” Sarutobi, seeing defeat, sighed and said “Fine, but I want the two of you to accompany her wherever she goes during the exam. Not just during it. Whatever you do, make sure the Nara's never get their hands on her.” “Agreed.” They laughed together. Suki had a feeling that they both had a little too much sake. “Oh, and Jiraiya, before I forget, make sure she is ready. The chuunin I sent after her on her first day at the Academy, were the weakest, newest ones I could find. I'll say it again. Make sure she is ready to face the toughest opponents you can think of.” They both laughed. “Fine. But first, a toast and some more sake.” Jiraiya offered, and a clash of bottles could heard.

Suki couldn't believe the information that had been carelessly revealed to her. She was part of some kind of experiment. And if it weren't for her, her families, would be at war? What was this all about? She wanted to know so badly, but she did not want to get caught eavesdropping on the Hokage and her sensei. That would be bad. At bad, she remembered why she was here in the first place. She stalked off back to Tsunade's place.

Her dream changed. Fast-forward two weeks. To the present. Now it really was a dream, not just memories.

The chuunin exams, well, what Suki thought they'd be like. Except all the candidates had Orochimaru's head. And they were all intent on killing her. She was cornered. Standing in a circle of thousands of Orochimaru heads. She had to fight all of them, or die trying. The sad thing was, floating heads, they wouldn't die. Instead of dieing, they would reach out and bite her, or tell her how worthless she was. A lab rat. Nothing more than someone's sick experiment. She couldn't fight back. And it made her mad. But when she was mad, she showed emotion. Shinobi Conduct clearly stated that you could never show emotion. It was the downfall of any ninja. The Orochimaru heads fed off her emotion, becoming stronger. Pulling out kunai, they scratched her, taunting her, telling her she was an ugly, worthless, monster. A monster that everyone was scared of, and hated because she had so much potential. She was favored by Sarutobi, well that didn't matter, he was laughing at her. So was everyone else. They laughed at how weak she was. She couldn't even stand anymore. Kakashi was laughing at her. He was her best friend. She was crying. Kakashi laughed harder, calling her weak and pathetic. She let out a scream, and charged the opponents. Attacking them, but it didn't work, and Suki didn't care. If Kakashi was laughing at her, she needed to prove him wrong. Tears running down her face, she went berserker. Not caring what happened to her body, she recklessly charged into the mass of Orochimaru's. She thought she saw Kakashi smile at her, so she was distracted. Tsunade came up behind her, holding a kunai to her throat, whispered in her ear. “You know? I never liked you. I just helped you because I felt bad for you. Same with Jiraiya and Sarutobi. Arashi hates your guts, so does Kana-san, and the rest of your team.” Tsunade laughed manically, and threw a kunai at Kakashi, hitting her mark. He slumped to the floor. Suki screamed again. Feeling a sharp pain in her side, she screamed, and woke up.

A/N: yeah, sorry if the dream was creepy. But I had to make it a nightmare. Why? I just did. And the experiment thing. That will be explained later.

Okay, I had some problems with italics and posting. So if this is in all italics, im sorry. I tried to fix it, and if it doesn't work. It's my bad. But I need reviewers. I really appreciate them. I know what its like reading a/n that say Review, and no one listens to them. That's okay. I guess I can wait a little longer. ^^

Angel Hoshiko, you rock! Kakashi is so bubbly! ^^
