Chapter 2 Things Are Not Ok Part Two
Naruto stared down at a half concious Itachi. Things have not been going well the past couple of weeks. The Akatsuki had found out that Naruto was the new Hokage and that their former comrade was still alive. They demanded that Naruto hand over Itachi so they can finish him off but Naruto simply denied them that pleasure. It was easy getting information out of the former Akatsuki memeber since he was half concious and barely able to think about what he is saying. Naruto was surprised to find out that Itachi had fought and betrayed the Akatsuki to protect him. Hell, it surprised everyone. Apparently the leader of the Akatsuki had mislead Itachi ino thinking they were going to use the Kyuubi chakra but when Kisame spoke the truth Itachi retaliated which meant death. The whole village of Konoha was thrown into shock by this piece of information and rethought their impression of the older Uchiha. Sasuke was just relieved to hear that his brother had nothing against Naruto or the village at all and only wished to protect it like any other shinobi from Konoha.
Things got more hectic as the days wore on. Itachi healed at a considerable rate and was back in the ANBU with Kakashi as the commander. The war did not end until Naruto got fed up with trying to negotiate and finnaly joined the fight killing a little over half of the Akatsuki. Itachi had gotten his revenge on the leader but ended up destroying his best comrade as well. No one could tell from the older sharingan users calm demeanor that he was torn apart. Naruto knew how it felt to fight a best friend and he knew how it felt when someone close to you died. So when everyone either returned home or went to the hospital to visit the wounded Naruto asked Itachi to take a walk with him. Kakashi watched them walk off wondering where they were headed but thought nothing of it. Besides there was a certain Chuunin that was running towards him at full speed and Kakashi knew he was not going to be standing for long.
Itachi as puzzled as to why Naruto had summoned him to take a walk with him but as it turned out Naruto wanted to talk about Kisame. To Itachi's surprise Naruto knew how he felt and related to him very well. Still, Itachi could not shake the feeling that he had heard Naruto's name once before many long years ago. Before Itachi could dwell on the htought for much longer Naruto seemed to be reading his mind because he answered the question that ran through Itachi's mind.
"Itachi."
"Yes Rokudaime"
"Please. Naruto. Don't call me that unless we're in front of the counsel."
"Yes Roku...I mean Naruto"
"You are wondering where you have heard the name Uzumaki Naruto before"
"Yes. How did you..."
"Itachi think back to when your family was killed. Do you remember a small boy that told you that you were making a mistake"
"Yes...Oh my..."
"I knew you were not going to remember me but I remember you very well."

"Why are you so silent?"
"I do not know what to say"
"Then don't. Your actions and emotions are speaking very clearly to me"
At that moment Sakura jumped from a roof with the biggest smile Naruto has ever seen her with. Smiling back Naruto was afraid to ask her buisness.
"Sakura..."
"Naruto did you forget that we are to have dinner in celebration for Shikamaru and Ino's engagment?"
"Oh I forgot!"
"I knew you would. Come on! You too Itachi"
"But I..."
"Don't worry I'll vouch for you. Come on! They are going to start without us!"
In the longest time Itachi had never laughed but running after Sakura and Naruto and hearing the stream of curses coming from the pink haired shinobi as she ran head long into a trash can Itachi could not help but laugh until his ribs started to hurt. Naruto had no choice but to laugh because quite frankly he found Sakura falling into a trash can funny as well. Sakura on the other hand did not find anything funny so they walked on Naruto and Itachi laughing like morons while Sakura fumed and blushed with embarrassment.
Ino waited for Sakura and Naruto. She expected Sakura to invite Itachi as well because what the hell why not. Shikamaru just sat and debated with Kakashi about the different methods of chakra control. Ino just giggled a bit when Neji joined the debate and it kinda was getting out of control. Gaara stood watching the fight goin on with a smirk on his face. Ino just looked at him until he glanced her way. She soon got the hint what Gaara was thinking and nodded her head. Gaara's smirk widen into a smile as he tok his gourd and unplugged it. Sand poured out and wrapped around Shikamaru, Neji, and Kakashi's mouths. The looks the three pulled were hilarious (I'll that to your imagination because I do not feel like typing it) At that moment Naruto and itachi stumbled into the houe laughing and gasping for air. Sakura on the other hand stomped into the house Ino noted the stench coming off her friend and to note what might have happened. Giving Naruto and Itachi a glare that just made them laugh harder Ino went to help her long time friend.
After much cleaning up and laughing everyone sat down around the dining room table for a toast before they ate. Naruto and Itachi were still trying to fight off the laughter that threatened to get them in trouble. Kakashi, Neji, and Shikamaru sat together but neither one looked at the other because they were sheerly embarrassed. But there was someone missing and no one could place who until he came through the door.
"Iruka-sensei your late." Naruto said concerned for his former sensei.
"I'm fine but your not going to be"
"Why?" Now Naruto was really worried
"After dinner. Trust me. Now shall we continue?"
Itachi had a bad feeling what was going to happen after dinner and he did not want Naruto by himself when it happened.
Itachi had gone with Naruto and Iruka to the other side of the village to a night club. Upon entering Itachi saw Naruto's eyes widen. Itachi followed Naruto's gaze to a man about Naruto's age, probably a year older, sitting at a bar having a deep make out session with another guy. From Itachi's stand point he guessed that the man Naruto was staring was his boyfriend. Well not for long at least. The man glanced up and saw Naruto. His eyes went wide as well as he tried to get up. The other man he was engaged in groping turned around to see Naruto. The other man looked at Naruto and the man he was with until it dawned on him. Itachi guessed the other man had no idea that the man he had been kissing was already taken because he had thrown the man he had been kissing to the otherside of the room before getting up and apologizing to naruto and walking out. Naruto watched the other man storm off before going after his now ex-boyfriend. The man nearly gasped when naruto grabed him by the neck. The club kept going with only a few stares here and there. The bouncers just watched Naruto. Not bothering to stop him because they knew Itachi would land them on the floor if they touched Naruto.
The man in Naruto's grasp tried to explain but it seemed that Naruto had enough and punched the mans lights out before walking off with Iruka trailing behind him. Iruka turned around just in time to see Itachi pick the man up again and whisper something in his ear. The man donned a horrified look before struggling in Itachi's grip to get away. Itachi was not going to let that happen until the man had gotten what he deserved. Iruka winced a bit when Itachi went to work and when he was done he went in search of Naruto to see if he was alright. Iruka just watched Itachi walk away then it hit him 'I am going to have soooooo much fun with this. Only if I can drag Kakashi into this.' Iruka smirked before heading off after Itachi.
Naruto was sitting on top of the cliff where his father's face was etched in the cliff's face. Itachi stood behind him looking out into the village. Naruto was conforted by Itachi's presence and was glad that the sharingan user had not left him. Itachi broke the silence startling Naruto.
"Naruto. Are you sure you are alright" It sounded more like a comand than a question
"I don't know. I just don't know." Itachi looked at Naruto for a minute before sitting next to the blonde and dragging him onto his lap. Naruto yelped before settling in and giggling like a love struck fan girl. Itachi just looked at him with confusion written all over his face.
"What is so funny?"
"Nothing." Naruto smiled and leaned in but hesitated and pulled back. He turned his body to look out into the village. Itachi watched him then decided that since Naruto was not going to do it he might as well do it himself.
"Naruto..." Naruto looked up into Itachi's charcoal eyes. Itachi just smiled and leaned down to lightly kiss Naruto's lips. Naruto's breathing picked up a bit as he leaned forward to close the remaining space between himself and Itachi. The kiss was long and passionate but was soon short lived when they heard the two biggest dramatic men in Konoha approaching. Itachi rolled his eyes as Naruto stiffled a giggle.
"Do they ever shut up?"
"Nope" Naruto looked at itachi and smiled. Things may not have been ok in the beginning but they were getting better.
