Tsunade: His name is Naruto! *Punches wall next to Tagg's head* His name is Naruto or you die.

Tagg: *gulps* Ok, he's Naruto. (at least for now)

Part 5

Demon Lord's New Team

 

Next Day, Training Ground 10

 

Ino “Where is he!? The Hokage said he'd be here.” Asuma-sensei “He'll be here.” Ino punches the closest tree to her. The tree shakes and Naruto falls out, he had been sleeping. He lands on his back and continues to sleep. Ino “Naruto!” he was still in that form as Tsunade had requested. “You're back! Where have you been?” She kicks him until he responds. “Nowhere. Now would you let me go back to sleep?” he had kept his eyes closed because when he fell his goggles had slipped. Ino “No I won't. You finally come back and all you can think about is sleep! I guess you're our new teammate.” Naruto “And good morning to you to Ino. Would you mind handing me my goggles?” he still didn't open his eyes. Ino “Get `em yourself. Idiot.” Naruto sits up and shakes his head and begins a henge to hide the shape of his eyes. Asuma sees that he has not opened his eyes “Why don't you open your eyes? You would be able to find them easier that way.” Naruto shakes his head again before finishing the jutsu, it was considerably longer because it had to cover a demon's eyes. Asuma gets up and picks up the goggles, handing them to Naruto.

 

Naruto takes them, puts them around his neck, and opens his eyes, his eyes looked just like they did one year ago, he looks up “oops. Sorry. I should have woken up earlier, but I was just so comfortable.” Asuma “Where have you been, we've all been worried about you.” Naruto “Training. After my fight with Sasuke one year ago some nins found me and took me in. So what are we going to do?” Asuma “We are getting ready for the Chunin Exam so we will need to know how good you've gotten since you've been gone.” Naruto “That's fine. I'd also like to see how much you've all improved.” Asuma “Lets see how good you've gotten at Taijutsu, I called Gai-sensei's team here to test you.”

 

At the mention of his name Gai and Lee ran out and stopped in front of kit in the Good Guy pose. Lee “Naruto you're back!” he runs up and hugs Naruto. Everyone sweat drops. Neji and Tenten ((?)) come from the direction the other two did but they were walking. Neji “Welcome back. I hope you've improved some.” Naruto `more than you know' Asuma “Lee will test your taijutsu and Neji will test your ninjutsu. Lee step forward.” ((I'm not very good at the sparing bits, but I will do my best))

 

Lee steps forward and gets into the Gai stance, while Naruto steps forward and gets in the Gaara stance. Lee rushes Naruto but he evades and throws a punch at Lee. Lee barely dodges it and makes a roundhouse kick at Naruto's head. He blocks it with his left arm and kicks Lee in the stomach, pushing him back several feet. Lee was about to take another swing at Naruto when Gai said, “That's enough, you've become a worthy rival for Lee. I hate to break up the wonderful fire of youthful combat but we have other things to test.” They both do the Good Gai ((just had to do it)) pose again. Asuma “Neji, your turn.”

 

Lee runs back to Gai while Neji walks to stand in front of Naruto. “I wont go easy on because you just got back.” Naruto “I didn't expect you to.” Neji takes the Hyuuga fighting stance while Naruto copies him. Neji is surprised by this but does not show it. `It won't work because he can't use the Byakugan' Neji activates it “Byakugan!” at the same moment Naruto activates his “Onimetsuki!” His eyes bleed red and his pupils elongate, to their true form. On the sidelines Asuma and Gai stare at each other “did he just say demon eyes?” they go back to watching the fight. Neji was just going to close off some of his opponent's tenktsu's when he noticed that he could not see them, in fact he couldn't even see the chakra flow in his opponent's body. Naruto just stands there. Neji can see that of the people on the sidelines but Naruto looks the same as he did when he wasn't using Byakugan. `This isn't possible. Why isn't it working' then he looks at Naruto's eyes. His eyes didn't look like that before. The intensity in them was enough to make him shiver. Gai and Asuma begin to worry because Neji isn't doing anything. “What's wrong Neji?” Neji “His eyes. They turned red. Now I can't see anything on him, its as if I'm not using the Byakugan.” Just then Naruto begins making random seals just to make it look like he was using a jutsu as he snaked out one of his tails and tripped Neji. He begins to fall but jumps back just in time to save himself. `What was that. It felt furry.' Gai “Ok, the match is over. Neji come back.” Gai and Neji begin talking about the “match.” Both people deactivate their skills, Naruto slightly after Neji. `Don't want him to see anything'

 

Asuma “You got better ninjutsu as well as genjustu if you could block out Neji's Byakugan.” Just then Neji silently activated his Limit. His jaw drops. `I must be seeing things' but he knew he wasn't. The boy before him had one hundred and twenty eight tenketsus when a normal person had only sixty-four. His inner coils also looked different than before. It was if he had one that spiraled left and one that went right. Naruto then noticed what Neji was doing and activated his “Limit” before the boy saw anything he shouldn't. To Neji it looked like a veil was placed over him, blocking him from seeing anything not physical. Naruto walked over to Neji. “This is my Limit. It allows me to block any other optical limit from working on me. Its one of the things I learned while I was away” Naruto smiles before walking back to his team. Neji would be sure to tell the Hokage about that. `Just what happened to him while he was away.

 

Ino just stands there `Naruto's gotten a lot stronger. Maybe I should as him if he wants to have diner with me.' She runs up to him and tugs at his sleeve. “Would you like to have dinner with me?” Naruto was about to answer when Ino noticed the top of what looked like a tattoo. Naruto “Sure. I'll come by your place at six. I have a meeting with Baa-chan.” He turns to leave but Ino keeps her hold on his sleeve. The light fabric rips revealing a Nine Tails Spiral Seal. It had nine lines coming out from the center, spiraling around each other. All of the lines were black except for one, that one was red two-thirds the way up. Ino “What's that?” Naruto sees what se was looking at and quickly covers it up. “That's nothing. Just something that happened a year ago. I gotta go. I'm late for my meeting with Baa-chan.” Runs off towards the Hokage's office.

 

Hokage's Office

 

“Where wee you! You're late!” Tsunade punches Naruto. “Sorry Baa-chan. I was with my new team.” Tsunade “Asuma will be going back on active Junin duty tomorrow so I have arranged for Kakashi to teach your team starting tomorrow.” “What about Sakura-chan? Isn't she on his team?” “She was. She became a Chunin soon after you left because Kakashi could focus only on her. I tested her myself.” Naruto mumbles, “He never focused on anyone but Sasuke.” “What was that?” “Nothing.” Tsunade “Whatever. I want to know what happened to you starting the day you were attacked.” Naruto “Fine. Sit down, this will take a while.”

 

Sound Nation

 

A sound Chunin races through the halls towards where Orochimaru and Sasuke are discussing their plan to take over Konoha. He enters without knocking and is immediately pined to the wall. Oro “I thought I made it very clear that we were not to be disturbed.” The pined Chunin in a strangled voice, “I have important news for Sasuke-sama!” Sasuke gets up and slowly walks over to the petrified nin, secretly he felt sorry for the guy, he would die no mater how important his news. “What is so important that you would disobey a direct order from your Otokage to tell me?” The nin is still up against the wall but he can now breath. “The boy you killed last year, Naruto. He's in Konoha rite now” as son as the words fell from his lips he was slammed back into the wall by Sasuke. “You'd better think about what you just told me. Are you sure it's him?” the man stutters. “H-H-Hai S-Sasuke -sama. W-we're sure its him.” Sasuke lets him go as he turns his back to the frightened nin. “You had better be rite or you will be begging to die by the time I'm done with you.” The other nin just nods as he scrambles out of the room. Orochimaru “I thought you said you killed the brat.” Sasuke “I did. It must be an impostor. He took a Chidori through the heart, not even he could survive that.” Oro “You know the Chunin Exams are taking place in Konoha, it would be the perfect place to see if it is truly him or not. We will change how we look and take part in the exams ourselves.” Sasuke “We? You mean that you are entering also?” “Yes. It has gotten boring here and I want to see some blood.” Sasuke “I understand.” Sasuke and Orochimaru begin working on their plans to enter the Chunin Exams undetected.
