Chapter 3: New Groups, New Friends

 

Everyone assembled before Iruka, being so eager to listen to their new groupings.

 

Kakashi, on the other hand took charge after Iruka announced it for he was the one who created the new groupings. “This is for your own good too. It is to develop friendship among you.” He said so formally, which is unlikely of him. But in the inside, the main reason why he made the groupings was so the `love teams' could be made together. Maybe he's just too in love who knows, being addicted to reading the Icha Icha Paradise.

 

So then, he started to announce. “I have assigned each of you to three groups - five members each. Our first group consists of Sasuke, Sakura, Shikamaru, Ino and Lee.” They all had different feelings for the group. “Oh my gosh! I'm assigned with Sasuke! I can't believe it. It's so… uh, I love Sasuke!” Ino cheered. Sakura was so happy and at the same time annoyed because Ino was there. She just didn't cheer like Ino did because she heard Sasuke doesn't like those type of girls. Sasuke and Shikamaru were both annoyed because they were with girls. Lee, on the other hand was so so happy that he started jumping weirdly up and down.

 

Kakashi giggled so hard before announcing the second team. “The next group composes of Naruto, Henata, Chouji, Kiba and Gaara.” Henata was the one who almost reacted the most. She was the only girl and Kakashi knew that - he just wanted her to learn how to handle herself. But she was happy since Naruto was there. Naruto on the other hand was happy about his groupmates since Chouji and Kiba were his childhood dummy friends while Gaara was the strongest of all the genins as he heard and of course, Henata, his secret love after all.

 

“And of course the final group - Neji, Tenten, Kankorou, Shino, Temari. Please meet with your groups and get ready for the next activities.” Kakashi finally announced. The genins assembled together with their groupmates.

 

Iruka joined Kakashi after the announcements. “Wow, the groups were really nice! It looks like you're really pointing out something.” Iruka commented, who just heard the groupings that moment. “Oh yes, I was. It's obvious, you know. I just wish the rightful ones will get their rightful partners.” Kakashi replied. Iruka just smiled wistfully.

 

-in sasuke's group-

 

“Maybe we could choose a team leader, you know. It's important too.” Sakura suggested. “Yes! I'm full support of that!” Lee exclaimed, who just vowed recently to give Sakura her full support of anything she wants. “That would be nice. I nominate Sasuke!” Ino exclaimed. Sasuke sighed at her attitude once again. She's so fanatic of me, he thought. “So I suppose it's Sasuke?” Shikamaru perceived. Ino answered, as usual. “Of course it is! You idiot! He's just the greatest genius in the world, the strongest, most handsome…” “Yea, yeah ,yeah… fine, I've heard those words all over again, Yamanaka Ino.” Shikamaru interrupted annoyingly, being obviously jealous by Ino's attitude. Ino frowned at him. “Oh! You never dare call me with my last name! It's so annoying!” She exclaimed, turning away her face. Shikamaru sighed heavily. Sakura smiled understandingly at both of them, then she turned to Sasuke. “So uh, Sasuke? What are we going to do for the activity?” Sakura asked politely, trying to impress him. “Iruka-sensei says we will have a treasure hunt. The treasure is something like a sacred kunai.” Sasuke said. “Oh that would be so exciting!” Lee exclaimed. `Sakura and I will be working together', he thought.

 

-in naruto's group-

 

“I nominate Naruto to be our team leader!” Chouji exclaimed excitedly. He have been very idolizing him for a long time. “Yeah, I agree. I vote for him.” Kiba agreed. They all turned to Gaara, who nodded simply in his still serious manner. Of course, Henata agreed as they all knew. “Well, thank you to all of you for voting for me and believing in me. But this time, I want to give the chance to this very special person to lead us as a team… You know, uh I think she has the potential… I truly believe in her…” Naruto announced in a formal way. They were all surprised. Of course, they all knew it was Henata! And all this time, she was blushing. Kiba threw Naruto a very surprise look. “Uh… Naruto? Oh, never mind. Let's talk tonight.” Kiba said. Naruto gave him a shrug. Henata, on the other hand was worrying. “Uh, Naruto-kun…? Uh… I don't know… I-I'm not sure… It's just that…” “Don't worry. I'll be here for you. I'll help you out, you know.” Naruto assured. Gaara smiled at what he was seeing.

 

-in neji's group-

 

Everyone agreed for Neji to be the team leader. They all agreed but it's just that there was a conflict even before they even started. Temari and Shino couldn't agree on what tactics to use during the treasure hunt. “No, we should separate so we could find everything easily!” Temari insisted. “I said not, since we have to be together. It's hard to find each other, you know?” Shino persisted. “Why does it seem that you do not understand??? You don't get the point, eh?” “It's you who does not get it!” “Hey! Will you two stop?” Neji roared, interrupting the two fighting. “You know what the greatest tactic is? For everyone else to get along. For you to get along. Do you understand?? Oh please, we're mature enough you know.” Shino and Temari ignored each other.
