Chapter 6 Clairvoyance
Several nocturnal birds chirped in the distance as Neji stood silently by the doorframe of a certain girlÕs room, watching the dappled moonlight enhance her features while she dumped several clothes and personal things into a duffel bag.
WAIT! WHAT THE HELL AM I THINKING! GodÉ I think the Hyuuga NejiÉ theHyuuga Neji is finally losing his marvelous touch!
Neji sighed, shaking his head furiously. Goodness! Why does girls always pick a bad time to show up in a boyÕs lifeÉ especially mine!
ÒThinking about something, Neji?Ó Fukai asked, smirking as she zipped the duffel bag close.
ÒYeah, donÕt bug me,Ó Neji muttered, scowling.
ÒOh, I wont. I can see that youÕre already bugged,Ó Fukai smirked, yet again. ÒI wonder whoÕs the lucky girl.Ó
Neji snorted. If you only knew that youÕre talking about yourselfÉ this is annoyingÉ
ÒIs there anything else you need to get?Ó asked Neji.
ÒNot that I know ofÉ well, weÕd better get back to base,Ó said Fukai, picking up the duffel bag. Neji led the way out the door of the mansion and into the forest.
The thick foliage let through several solitary rays of milky moonlight, slightly illuminating the path.
ÒWeÕd better make for the trees, Neji, the forest floor is not an ideal park at night,Ó Fukai said. ÒYou donÕt want to meet a giant wild boar or a hungry wild wolf on the way, now, do you?Ó
ÒThough I can easily dispose of any animal we might encounterÉ IÕm not in the mood,Ó Neji said, leaping up into the thick branches.
ÒTell me, Neji, are you the top ninja of Konoha?Ó asked Fukai.
ÒYeah, I am right now, because Sasuke left,Ó Neji said, keeping his face neutral but his insides were churning. Why the hell do I have the feeling that this girl is going to interview me?
ÒSasuke-kun?Ó Fukai said. ÒIs he strong?Ó
ÒHe must be really well in hiding his aura, since you didnÕt realize it. And youÕd better not let Sakura hear you calling Sasuke ÔSasuke-kunÕ because you seriously donÕt want to die a most painful and early deathÉ do you?Ó Neji said. This fucking girl just made me broke my code of not saying too muchÉ
ÒOh I donÕtÉÓ Fukai said non-chalantly. ÒBesides, I have no hots for the guy, heÕs not my type.Ó
ÒOh, so you mean you do have someone you like in the base,Ó Neji irked, smirking.
ÒShut up, thatÕs none of your business,Ó Fukai snapped, slightly blushing.
Neji chuckled darkly. ÒI can cook up the jutsu for reading mindsÉÓ
ÒFuck off, Neji!Ó snapped Fukai again.
ÒAnd youÕre blushing!Ó Neji laughed, irking the poor girl. Bad move.
Fukai sped up and ran up to him and tackled him fro behind, then both rolled and dropped down to the forest floor littered with dried leaves and dappled with moonlight. Fukai straddled Neji, but Neji didnÕt retaliate since this was a girl, he reminded himself. Fukai leaned in to whisper into NejiÕs ear, their cheeks slightly brushing. ÒYouÕre such a sadist, Neji.Ó He smirked.
ÒAnd proud of it,Ó Neji whispered back into her ear. Fukai chuckled, getting off him and retrieving her duffel bag, which rolled off and dropped the precarious height from the branches where it was left. Neji stood up and dusted himself off, smirking. IÕm really beginning to like this girlÉ
The two sped off to the base, both their figures and their worries swallowed by the darkness as they contented themselves with each otherÕs presence.

The sunlight filtered into a room through a small window by the bed. Two figures could be made out, entangled not only in the thick blankets but also in each otherÕs limbs. Mere tufts of raven hair and pink hair could be seen under the sheets, close to each other.
Sakura and Sasuke both lay naked under the sheets due to the previous nightÕs events, and if the blankets were taken off, this would be the scene: Sakura with one arm around SasukeÕs waist and another looping around his arm, the hand resting on his shoulder. SakuraÕs right leg was over SasukeÕs right one, and his left one was over SakuraÕs right one. Sasuke had an arm looped around SakuraÕs petite waist, and another arm serving as her pillow - only slightly coz if its full time, SasukeÕs arm would be dead by this timeÉ - and the hand entangled in her pink locks, which were splayed around on the pillow. SakuraÕs head was buried under his chin, by the crook of his neck, and his face was half-burrowed into her hair.
Then the figure under the blankets shifted.
Sasuke pulled the blanket down slightly, revealing a slumbering Sakura. Sasuke smiled a soft smile, intended only for his angel. He placed a soft kiss on her forehead and caressed her long pink tresses, slightly tightening his hold on her waist. The girl stirred awake slowly, rubbing with one hand on her eyes.
ÒMmmÉ Sasuke-kun?Ó she muttered, still sleepy.
ÒYeah, IÕm hereÉ sorry if I woke you upÉÓ Sasuke muttered back, nuzzling her hair.
ÒOha-ha-yooohhÉÓ she said, yawning midway. Sasuke chuckled.
ÒStill sleepyÉ go on and get sleep, besides, we didnÕt get much rest last nightÉÓ Sasuke muttered, drawing her protectively near and wrapping his aura around her, making her warm.
ÒSo overprotective, ne, Sasuke-kun?Ó Sakura giggled, wrapping her arms around him again, fully.
ÒI just want to make sure that no one takes my angel away from meÉÓ he whispered, planting a kiss on the groove of her neck.
ÒHmmÉ IÕve never seen the Uchiha Sasuke cling onto something so possessivelyÉÓ Sakura said, smiling.
ÒYouÕre different, angel,Ó Sasuke said, nuzzling her neck. She giggled, tightening her hug on him.
Then somebody knocked on the door. ÒHey you two! DonÕt you have any plans on waking up? Why are people so lazy today? Even Naruto and Hinata are still in their room!Ó hollered Chouji.
ÒShove off, Chouji!Ó shot back Sasuke, smirking. ÒDo not disturb!Ó
Chouji apparently harrumphed outside and stomped off, scowling. He rapped at another nearby door. ÒNeji! Wake up! And is Fukai in there!Ó
There came another voiceÉ an annoyed voice. ÒChouji, can you kindly pipe down? IÕm trying to get some sleep here! And yah, Fukai is in here, coz our great leader didnÕt even consider staying up to give her a room!Ó said Neji. Sasuke chuckled.
ÒTheir having a good relationship?Ó asked Sakura, referring to Neji and Fukai.
ÒYeah, I think NejiÕs getting well on with her,Ó said Sasuke. ÒAnd thatÕs pretty good news as well.Ó
ÒHEY! WHASSA BIG IDEA SHOUTINÕ OUT ALL MORNINÕ?Ó hollered a person from a nearby room. It was recognizably Naruto. ÒWeÕre having a good lay hereÉÓ he groaned, apparently disappointed that he was awoken.
ÒUrgh! Can everybody pleaseÉ SHUT UP!Ó came another voice from another room. It was Shikamaru this time. ÒWeÕre trying to rest! And besides, the nins can take care of themselves, they already have their assignmentsÉÓ
ÒYAH, SHUT UP, CHOUJI!Ó came InoÕs voice, but it came from the same room.
ÒWait a minuteÉ Ino! What are you doing inside SHIKAÕS room!Ó hollered Chouji.
ÒWHAT HAVE I TOLD YOU ABOUT SHUTTING UP!Ó Ino hollered. Chouji clamped his mouth shut and ambled into the kitchen to pig out.
Sasuke sighed and settled his head back down on the pillow, cradling SakuraÕs head against his chest. The girl was close to falling asleep again. Sasuke caressed her cheeks, making her sigh contentedly.
ÒSasuke-kun?Ó Sakura said, eyes closed.
ÒYah?Ó
ÒCan you give me a kiss?Ó
Sasuke smiled and leaned down, capturing her lips in his in a gentle, loving kiss.

Naruto sighed as Ino shouted at Chouji about shutting up. He set his head back down, looking at the girl beside him. There was one word that can describe his Hinata right now: ethereal.
Her almost shoulder length hair splayed around her head like a halo, and her face was set in an angelic smile, her full and well-kissed lips curled up in contentment. Her ivory white skin was tinted with a slight pink from the heat of the night that has yet to subside.
Naruto stroked her back gently, careful not to wake the sleeping majesty. He wrapped his larger form around her considerably smaller one, kissing the nape of her neck gently, a mere brush of lips against skin. He cocooned her in a swirl of warmth and comfort, making her sigh contentedly in her slumber, tightening her hold on NarutoÕs waist.
She sighed yet again, as she felt NarutoÕs steady breath slithering down her neck and warming her skin. Naruto held her possessively, protectively, as if somebody was there to dare take her away from his grasp. He wrapped her in protection of his aura as if he was afraid that there was somebody or something out there that threatened her safety, her beauty. He cradled her head protectively and she voluntarily buried her face into his toned chest, his aroma, which always smelled of spring and summer air, wafting into her nose.
Then he looked at the clock and saw that it was time for breakfast for the nins. He remembered that the SSA had no assignments but to train by themselves. They needed a handler, and he knew that they needed to come up to their promises to the nins that they would fight against them. He slowly and hesitantly pulled away from the raven-haired girl, movements slow and careful so as not to wake her.
Hinata sensed his movements, and tightened her grip. ÒNaruto-kunÉÓ she moaned, pulling him back.
ÒHina-chan, we need to get up and get dressedÉÓ Naruto coaxed the sleepy girl. He couldnÕt blame her; she was completely worn out by the previous nightÕs activities. But they needed to. He wouldnÕt wake her if they neednÕt wake up early, he would certainly go back under the covers and sleep along with her. ÒThe SSA need us, Hina-chan, we promised themÉÓ
ÒBut Naruto-kuuuuunÉÓ Hinata whined.
ÒCÕmon, Hina-chanÉÓ Naruto hushed, as the girl started having a tantrum. She seriously didnÕt like to be disturbed while sleeping especially when tired, and she didnÕt like it when Naruto was being pulled away from her during sleep just because of duty. But apparently Naruto forgot this fact. ÒHina-chan, the SSA need us, they need us to train them, cÕmon, Hina-chanÉ you need to wake up, sweetieÉÓ
All the while Naruto was convincing her she was whining. Then she stopped as he stopped speaking. ÒFine. Fine. Go ahead and teach your great Stealth, Spy and Assassination squadÉ I donÕt care,Ó Hinata scoffed, turning around, her back facing Naruto.
ÒHinata-chanÉÓ Naruto said, laying a hand on her shoulder.
ÒGo away! DonÕt disturb me! Go away!Ó snapped Hinata, shrugging his hand off. If others can be selfish with the one they love, sometimes I can be selfish tooÉ IÕm just asking for one morningÉ
Naruto withdrew his rejected hand, sighing. ÒLook, Hina-chan, after we train the SSA nins, after we fight them, IÕll spend the whole of today and tomorrow with you. CÕmon, get up, Hina-chan,Ó Naruto coaxed, putting a hand at her shoulder again.
No reply.
ÒHina-chanÉÓ Naruto said, gently shaking her. ÒCÕmon, Hina-chanÉÓ
ÒGo away! Go to your squad and train them all you want, I donÕt care! IÕm nothing to you anyways, the squad is more important!Ó snapped Hinata, as tears stung in her eyes. Naruto, the ninsÉ are they really more important than me now? Before, in Tasogare, you never left my side until I woke upÉ
ÒWhaÉ No! Of course not, Hinata! What makes you think that IÕd put the nins above you? IÕd never do that!Ó Naruto defended, suddenly looping his arm around HinataÕs waist and forcing her to face him. As he saw her eyes brimming with tears, he bit his lip. How could I forget, Hinata has tantrums like these when I leave her in bed just for duty! - --U he did rememberÉ just a tad bit too late, isnÕt it? -
ÒTheyÕre more important, arenÕt they? Just because of this war?Ó sniffed Hinata, lowering her head. She rubbed at her eyes and turned around again, her back facing Naruto. ÒGo ahead, Naruto-kun, go and teach the ninsÉ IÕll just follow.Ó
ÒHinata-chanÉÓ
ÒGo ahead, Naruto. Go.Ó
Naruto sighed. ÒAre you sure, Hina-chan? You donÕt want me to stay here? IÕll stay if you want me to, I wont go anymore.Ó
ÒGo,Ó she said, her voice barely above a whisper. She couldnÕt bring herself to speak anymore, because she feared that she would break down in front of him if she spoke.
ÒO-okayÉ ifÉ thatÕs what you wantÉÓ Naruto whispered, placing a kiss on top of her head and then getting up, proceeding to the showers.
As soon as the door snapped shut and the water rushed out of the shower noisily, Hinata broke into constricted and racking sobs, her whole frame convulsing. She buried her face into the pillow and eventually calmed down after a while of crying into the poor soaked pillow. As Naruto came out, she forced her body to calm down and look as if she was asleep. She heard Naruto sigh and felt his eyes on her, staring. Then he sighed again. There was the rustle of clothes and evidently, Naruto was getting dressed. After a few minutes, Naruto walked over to the bed and crawled to her. He gave her a hug and a kiss on top of the head. Then he stood up and walked out of the room, closing the door silently with a small snap.
As he went out, Hinata raised her head and looked aroundÉ everything was in place. Naruto had arranged the dirty and discarded clothes from last night, and he had apparently gone out already. Hinata sighed. She felt her eyes sting again as she thought about him and she just forced herself up and went to the shower even if her whole body was sore.
She sighed. NarutoÉ

Naruto walked out of the room silently, thinking things over. Should he really be out here and not in there, comforting Hinata? Should he really be here and not in there, wrapping her in a warm hug as she sleeps? He thought things over and over until his head ached in just a matter of a minute. He sighed.
I just hope sheÕs not really mad at me or anythingÉ she was cryingÉ what am I thinking sheÕs not madÉ she is madÉ
He sighed again. He reached the kitchen and went inside, grabbing a bowl of rice on the table made by Sakura, who was giggling and talking with Sasuke. He sank down on his seat and placed the bowl on the table, toying with the food.
ÒWhatÕs wrong, Naruto?Ó asked Sakura.
Sigh.
ÒOiÉÓ Ino said. Sasuke clenched his fists.
Sigh.
Neji had a vein throbbing silently.
Sigh.
Shikamaru had an eyebrow going way up.
Sigh.
Lee is fuming.
Sigh.
Silence. Birds twittering. Silence.
CRASH! KABOOM! BAM!
ÒOW! OwwwwwiiiiiieeeeeeÉÓ Naruto moaned as he lay on the floor, reduced to a mere lump of bruises. Apparently Shikamaru had delivered a rabbit punch, Sasuke a smash kick, Neji a palm strike and Lee a power punch.
ÒCan you kindly stop SIGHING!Ó snapped Shikamaru. ÒYakkai naÉÓ - Troublesome or how troublesomeÉ -
ÒWhatÕs wrong, anyways?Ó Ino said, slurping her soup up. Naruto ambled back into his seat.
ÒNah, nuthinÕ,Ó Naruto said, trying to smile. Just then, Hinata entered the kitchen.
Sakura raised a brow when she didnÕt say a word to Naruto or even look at him. Then she whispered something to Sasuke, and Sasuke nodded.
Hinata retrieved a bowl of rice from the table and sat about 4 seats away from Naruto. Ino raised both her brows at this action. There is something definitely wrong hereÉ argumentÉ maybeÉ nahÉ can it be? - what kind of person has a kind of thinking like that? --U -
Fukai looked at Naruto then to Hinata. Naruto was sighing endlessly and Hinata was just plain silent and inexpressive. Then she leaned over to Neji to ask him something.
ÒNeji, are the two on?Ó
ÒYah, isnÕt it obvious?Ó
ÒWell, so-rry, only humanÉ anyways, what do you think is their problem?Ó
ÒMost likely they had an argument coz this dobe Naruto probably did something without thinking again,Ó Neji snorted, returning to his soup.
ÒHmmÉ does he really act dumb?Ó
ÒYah, all the time, but heÕs a tough opponent, I admitÉÓ
ÒOooÉ and I thought the great Neji would never admit something like thatÉÓ
ÒShut up, FukaiÉÓ snapped Neji. Fukai smirked contentedly. ÒNow youÕre the sadist.Ó
ÒAnd also proud of it, dude,Ó Fukai smirked. Then she broke out in snickers, then eventually peals of laughter. The others looked at her oddly.
ÒWhatÕs wrong with you?Ó asked Shikamaru.
ÒOh, nuthin, just a bit happy todayÉÓ snickered Fukai, smirking at Neji, who was glaring at her.

Later that dayÉ
Sakura watched the SSA nin fight Hinata. It was already with Shourai Mori. Apparently the nin was losing to Hinata, since the poor boy was serving as an outlet for HinataÕs distress.
This is getting boringÉ its getting way too predictableÉ
Predictable it is. The fight ended a half-minute later, with Hinata as the winner, as usual. Nobody has still been able to defeat any of the four leaders. Next fight was still Hinata, with Amazaki Hayate. Then after that, two fights consecutive for Sasuke, then the last would be hers. It would be a long waitÉ
ÒSasuke-kun?Ó she said, making the boy beside him look at her. They were sitting in the protruding flat rock that Sasuke cleaned off. It was a long flat rock, so the four of them can sit down. Also, it was a bit high so it overlooked the battle area and showed the foliage in the flats.
ÒYeah? Is there anything wrong?Ó asked Sasuke, rubbing her arm.
ÒCan I sleep at your shoulder? IÕm getting a little bored hereÉÓ Sakura said, yawning. ÒI didnÕt get enough sleepÉÓ
ÒYeah, you didnÕt,Ó Sasuke said. ÒGo aheadÉÓ
Sakura leaned her head on his shoulder, and made herself comfortable in his arms, snuggling into the warmth. She stared off into space, looking at the faint blue sky over the horizon. She wasnÕt aware that she was gathering chakra into her sub-conscious mind, activating a power she had never dreamed she possessed.
As she closed her eyes, she saw black. Black, all black. Then after a few moments, images started flashing fast into her mind, like a movie in fast forward. The pictures were all blurred; she couldnÕt make anything out of it. And eventually it all slowed down, enough for her to understand.
The movie started.
The first scene showedÉ her, with her head on SasukeÕs shoulder and her eyes closed, and Sasuke watching the fight intently, recording the ninÕs performance, with an arm looped around her shoulders. It wasÉ strange. It was like she was watching the events that were yet to unfoldÉ but in a different perspective, in a spectatorÕs view.
The fight ended yet again with Hinata as winner. Hayate had launched a spinning kick with chakra to Hinata as he managed to get a gap open in the whirlwind, but his foot was caught in the strong wind currents and he was thrown off forcefully. Sasuke shook her awake, and then he stood up as Hinata went up to the rock and sat down beside her silently. The fight started as SasukeÕs opponent reached his place.
Then there was a rumble from above. Piles of snow cascaded down, attempting to bury an unsuspecting Sakura and Hinata, who were talking, and a sleeping Naruto!
Then the vision stopped. She snapped awake, her head snapping sharply up.
ÒHey, whatÕs wrong?Ó asked Sasuke, concerned that she suddenly awoke.
ÒYou just put your head on my shoulder a few moments agoÉ donÕt tell me thatÕs what you call sleep?Ó Sasuke chuckled.
ÒSa-sasuke-kunÉ I had a visionÉÓ
ÒA vision?Ó
ÒThereÕs gonna be a big avalanche here, and its gonna fall directly above usÉÓ
ÒHuh? When? This is weird, SakuraÉÓ
Just then, the fight between Hinata and Hayate ended and Sasuke was called down.
ÒSasuke-kun! As soon as your opponent takes his place! Its gonna happen, Sasuke-kun!Ó called Sakura from above. Then she turned her attention to Hinata. ÒHinata-chan. ThereÕs going to be an avalanche here, IÕll explain later, take Naruto and go to the cave, hurry!Ó
Hinata scrambled up and dragged the sleeping Naruto across the snow to the cave entrance.

ÒSasuke-kun, IÕm telling the truth!Ó

Naruto was already awake and was asking Hinata why she was dragging him so fast.

Hinata and Naruto reached the cave entrance, and Hinata clamped NarutoÕs mouth shut with a rabbit punch.

Sakura scrambled off the rock and ran to Sasuke, pulling him to the cave. Neji was bewildered and the SSA nin was outraged.
Then came the rumble. The piles of snow came down crashing, and the SSA nins tripled their speed, trying their hardest to get to the cave entrance.
As the sheets of snow folded over the plain that was their fighting field, everybody was in the cave entrance, panting but proud of having outrun a natural disaster. Sasuke pulled the lever that closed the thick wooden door of the cave entrance to prevent the snow to cascade all the way down to base.
ÒShit, every time we fight, it gets disturbed!Ó whined Kashin Rai, SasukeÕs opponent. ÒDammit!Ó
ÒMaybe next time, Rai,Ó Sasuke said. ÒRight nowÉ Sakura here has lots to explain.Ó

ÒHonestly, I had no idea how I got the visionÉÓ Sakura said.
The SSA and the heads were all sitting in the common room, discussing about what happened up in the SSA field. Sasuke, Neji and Shikamaru, as well as several of the SSA, who were brainy, such as Yuri Aikawa and Taira Aira, were interrogating Sakura. The poor girl was stressed out, not being able to know how she harnessed the vision, which saved their lives, and which could prove useful in further activities.
ÒMaybe by knowing where she last focused her chakra, we could provide more clues into it,Ó Fukai said. ÒI know a jutsu which can track where she last focused an amount of chakra.Ó
ÒOkay, do it,Ó said Sakura and Sasuke simultaneously. Fukai stood up and performed several seals in front of Sakura and placed her hand on top of her head. A white light glowed sinisterly under FukaiÕs hand and after a few seconds, the light disappeared and Fukai broke away.
ÒShe last focused her chakra in her sub-conscious mind.Ó
ÒIn my sub-conscious mind?Ó
ÒYup. That explains why you donÕt know about it. If you focus your chakra in your sub-conscious mind, you get a vision of the near future. It depends on how much chakra you give into it,Ó Fukai explained as a matter-of-factly.
ÒOooookayÉÓ said Ino. ÒMaybe we need to prove that.Ó
ÒTry to make a prediction, Sakura, and whisper it to me and Shikamaru. WeÕll see if it happens. Only short term, okay?Ó said Sasuke.
ÒOkay,Ó said Sakura. She concentrated her chakra in her sub-conscious mind. Slowly she felt the images going againÉ like a movie.
She was looking at herself, standing in the middle and concentrating, then she opened her eyes. She walked over to Sasuke and Shikamaru and whispered something to them and then waited, sitting beside Sasuke in the couch. Then Amazaki Hayate shattered the glass he was holding due to the force he applied.
She snapped her eyes open. She grinned and walked over to Sasuke and Shikamaru and whispered that Hayate was going to break the glass. She sat down beside Sasuke and waited patiently for a few tense moments. Tense moments indeed.
Hayate, due to the excitement, shattered the glass, and the shards went flying around. Everybody blocked, and no one was wounded.
ÒGreat! You do have clairvoyance,Ó said Shikamaru. ÒHe did break his glass!Ó
ÒThat could prove really handy in battle, donÕt you think, Sasuke?Ó grinned Naruto.
ÒYahÉÓ said Sasuke.
ÒWell, its already afternoonÉ and since we cant do just one last fight since there was an avalancheÉ I think weÕll call it a day,Ó Neji said.
The nins walked off, chatting about the newfound clairvoyance that Sakura possessed. Sakura laughed and then laid her head on SasukeÕs shoulder again. Then Hinata walked off to their room. Naruto followed.

Naruto shut the door behind him with a resounding snap.
ÒHinata-chan?Ó Naruto said tentatively, for he noticed that she was particularly touchy.
ÒWhat!Ó snapped Hinata, surprising Naruto.
ÒLookÉ IÕm sorryÉ IÕm sorry, I just forgot that you didnÕt like being disturbed when sleeping, IÕm really really really really very sorry!Ó Naruto rambled.
ÒWhat use is your ÔsorryÕ? You donÕt even give me importance anymore,Ó Hinata said, her voice, barely above a whisper. She was going to break down again.

ÒNo, wait, Hina-chanÉÓ said Naruto. ÒYouÕre still worn out, arenÕt you?Ó he asked as she pushed him down on the bed.

Hinata smiled as Naruto switched positions and lay over her instead, kissing her neck and sucking, working her top off.
Several nocturnal birds chirped in the distance as Neji stood silently by the doorframe of a certain girlÕs room, watching the dappled moonlight enhance her features while she dumped several clothes and personal things into a duffel bag.
WAIT! WHAT THE HELL AM I THINKING! GodÉ I think the Hyuuga NejiÉ theHyuuga Neji is finally losing his marvelous touch!
Neji sighed, shaking his head furiously. Goodness! Why does girls always pick a bad time to show up in a boyÕs lifeÉ especially mine!
ÒThinking about something, Neji?Ó Fukai asked, smirking as she zipped the duffel bag close.
ÒYeah, donÕt bug me,Ó Neji muttered, scowling.
ÒOh, I wont. I can see that youÕre already bugged,Ó Fukai smirked, yet again. ÒI wonder whoÕs the lucky girl.Ó
Neji snorted. If you only knew that youÕre talking about yourselfÉ this is annoyingÉ
ÒIs there anything else you need to get?Ó asked Neji.
ÒNot that I know ofÉ well, weÕd better get back to base,Ó said Fukai, picking up the duffel bag. Neji led the way out the door of the mansion and into the forest.
The thick foliage let through several solitary rays of milky moonlight, slightly illuminating the path.
ÒWeÕd better make for the trees, Neji, the forest floor is not an ideal park at night,Ó Fukai said. ÒYou donÕt want to meet a giant wild boar or a hungry wild wolf on the way, now, do you?Ó
ÒThough I can easily dispose of any animal we might encounterÉ IÕm not in the mood,Ó Neji said, leaping up into the thick branches.
ÒTell me, Neji, are you the top ninja of Konoha?Ó asked Fukai.
ÒYeah, I am right now, because Sasuke left,Ó Neji said, keeping his face neutral but his insides were churning. Why the hell do I have the feeling that this girl is going to interview me?
ÒSasuke-kun?Ó Fukai said. ÒIs he strong?Ó
ÒHe must be really well in hiding his aura, since you didnÕt realize it. And youÕd better not let Sakura hear you calling Sasuke ÔSasuke-kunÕ because you seriously donÕt want to die a most painful and early deathÉ do you?Ó Neji said. This fucking girl just made me broke my code of not saying too muchÉ
ÒOh I donÕtÉÓ Fukai said non-chalantly. ÒBesides, I have no hots for the guy, heÕs not my type.Ó
ÒOh, so you mean you do have someone you like in the base,Ó Neji irked, smirking.
ÒShut up, thatÕs none of your business,Ó Fukai snapped, slightly blushing.
Neji chuckled darkly. ÒI can cook up the jutsu for reading mindsÉÓ
ÒFuck off, Neji!Ó snapped Fukai again.
ÒAnd youÕre blushing!Ó Neji laughed, irking the poor girl. Bad move.
Fukai sped up and ran up to him and tackled him fro behind, then both rolled and dropped down to the forest floor littered with dried leaves and dappled with moonlight. Fukai straddled Neji, but Neji didnÕt retaliate since this was a girl, he reminded himself. Fukai leaned in to whisper into NejiÕs ear, their cheeks slightly brushing. ÒYouÕre such a sadist, Neji.Ó He smirked.
ÒAnd proud of it,Ó Neji whispered back into her ear. Fukai chuckled, getting off him and retrieving her duffel bag, which rolled off and dropped the precarious height from the branches where it was left. Neji stood up and dusted himself off, smirking. IÕm really beginning to like this girlÉ
The two sped off to the base, both their figures and their worries swallowed by the darkness as they contented themselves with each otherÕs presence.

The sunlight filtered into a room through a small window by the bed. Two figures could be made out, entangled not only in the thick blankets but also in each otherÕs limbs. Mere tufts of raven hair and pink hair could be seen under the sheets, close to each other.
Sakura and Sasuke both lay naked under the sheets due to the previous nightÕs events, and if the blankets were taken off, this would be the scene: Sakura with one arm around SasukeÕs waist and another looping around his arm, the hand resting on his shoulder. SakuraÕs right leg was over SasukeÕs right one, and his left one was over SakuraÕs right one. Sasuke had an arm looped around SakuraÕs petite waist, and another arm serving as her pillow - only slightly coz if its full time, SasukeÕs arm would be dead by this timeÉ - and the hand entangled in her pink locks, which were splayed around on the pillow. SakuraÕs head was buried under his chin, by the crook of his neck, and his face was half-burrowed into her hair.
Then the figure under the blankets shifted.
Sasuke pulled the blanket down slightly, revealing a slumbering Sakura. Sasuke smiled a soft smile, intended only for his angel. He placed a soft kiss on her forehead and caressed her long pink tresses, slightly tightening his hold on her waist. The girl stirred awake slowly, rubbing with one hand on her eyes.
ÒMmmÉ Sasuke-kun?Ó she muttered, still sleepy.
ÒYeah, IÕm hereÉ sorry if I woke you upÉÓ Sasuke muttered back, nuzzling her hair.
ÒOha-ha-yooohhÉÓ she said, yawning midway. Sasuke chuckled.
ÒStill sleepyÉ go on and get sleep, besides, we didnÕt get much rest last nightÉÓ Sasuke muttered, drawing her protectively near and wrapping his aura around her, making her warm.
ÒSo overprotective, ne, Sasuke-kun?Ó Sakura giggled, wrapping her arms around him again, fully.
ÒI just want to make sure that no one takes my angel away from meÉÓ he whispered, planting a kiss on the groove of her neck.
ÒHmmÉ IÕve never seen the Uchiha Sasuke cling onto something so possessivelyÉÓ Sakura said, smiling.
ÒYouÕre different, angel,Ó Sasuke said, nuzzling her neck. She giggled, tightening her hug on him.
Then somebody knocked on the door. ÒHey you two! DonÕt you have any plans on waking up? Why are people so lazy today? Even Naruto and Hinata are still in their room!Ó hollered Chouji.
ÒShove off, Chouji!Ó shot back Sasuke, smirking. ÒDo not disturb!Ó
Chouji apparently harrumphed outside and stomped off, scowling. He rapped at another nearby door. ÒNeji! Wake up! And is Fukai in there!Ó
There came another voiceÉ an annoyed voice. ÒChouji, can you kindly pipe down? IÕm trying to get some sleep here! And yah, Fukai is in here, coz our great leader didnÕt even consider staying up to give her a room!Ó said Neji. Sasuke chuckled.
ÒTheir having a good relationship?Ó asked Sakura, referring to Neji and Fukai.
ÒYeah, I think NejiÕs getting well on with her,Ó said Sasuke. ÒAnd thatÕs pretty good news as well.Ó
ÒHEY! WHASSA BIG IDEA SHOUTINÕ OUT ALL MORNINÕ?Ó hollered a person from a nearby room. It was recognizably Naruto. ÒWeÕre having a good lay hereÉÓ he groaned, apparently disappointed that he was awoken.
ÒUrgh! Can everybody pleaseÉ SHUT UP!Ó came another voice from another room. It was Shikamaru this time. ÒWeÕre trying to rest! And besides, the nins can take care of themselves, they already have their assignmentsÉÓ
ÒYAH, SHUT UP, CHOUJI!Ó came InoÕs voice, but it came from the same room.
ÒWait a minuteÉ Ino! What are you doing inside SHIKAÕS room!Ó hollered Chouji.
ÒWHAT HAVE I TOLD YOU ABOUT SHUTTING UP!Ó Ino hollered. Chouji clamped his mouth shut and ambled into the kitchen to pig out.
Sasuke sighed and settled his head back down on the pillow, cradling SakuraÕs head against his chest. The girl was close to falling asleep again. Sasuke caressed her cheeks, making her sigh contentedly.
ÒSasuke-kun?Ó Sakura said, eyes closed.
ÒYah?Ó
ÒCan you give me a kiss?Ó
Sasuke smiled and leaned down, capturing her lips in his in a gentle, loving kiss.

Naruto sighed as Ino shouted at Chouji about shutting up. He set his head back down, looking at the girl beside him. There was one word that can describe his Hinata right now: ethereal.
Her almost shoulder length hair splayed around her head like a halo, and her face was set in an angelic smile, her full and well-kissed lips curled up in contentment. Her ivory white skin was tinted with a slight pink from the heat of the night that has yet to subside.
Naruto stroked her back gently, careful not to wake the sleeping majesty. He wrapped his larger form around her considerably smaller one, kissing the nape of her neck gently, a mere brush of lips against skin. He cocooned her in a swirl of warmth and comfort, making her sigh contentedly in her slumber, tightening her hold on NarutoÕs waist.
She sighed yet again, as she felt NarutoÕs steady breath slithering down her neck and warming her skin. Naruto held her possessively, protectively, as if somebody was there to dare take her away from his grasp. He wrapped her in protection of his aura as if he was afraid that there was somebody or something out there that threatened her safety, her beauty. He cradled her head protectively and she voluntarily buried her face into his toned chest, his aroma, which always smelled of spring and summer air, wafting into her nose.
Then he looked at the clock and saw that it was time for breakfast for the nins. He remembered that the SSA had no assignments but to train by themselves. They needed a handler, and he knew that they needed to come up to their promises to the nins that they would fight against them. He slowly and hesitantly pulled away from the raven-haired girl, movements slow and careful so as not to wake her.
Hinata sensed his movements, and tightened her grip. ÒNaruto-kunÉÓ she moaned, pulling him back.
ÒHina-chan, we need to get up and get dressedÉÓ Naruto coaxed the sleepy girl. He couldnÕt blame her; she was completely worn out by the previous nightÕs activities. But they needed to. He wouldnÕt wake her if they neednÕt wake up early, he would certainly go back under the covers and sleep along with her. ÒThe SSA need us, Hina-chan, we promised themÉÓ
ÒBut Naruto-kuuuuunÉÓ Hinata whined.
ÒCÕmon, Hina-chanÉÓ Naruto hushed, as the girl started having a tantrum. She seriously didnÕt like to be disturbed while sleeping especially when tired, and she didnÕt like it when Naruto was being pulled away from her during sleep just because of duty. But apparently Naruto forgot this fact. ÒHina-chan, the SSA need us, they need us to train them, cÕmon, Hina-chanÉ you need to wake up, sweetieÉÓ
All the while Naruto was convincing her she was whining. Then she stopped as he stopped speaking. ÒFine. Fine. Go ahead and teach your great Stealth, Spy and Assassination squadÉ I donÕt care,Ó Hinata scoffed, turning around, her back facing Naruto.
ÒHinata-chanÉÓ Naruto said, laying a hand on her shoulder.
ÒGo away! DonÕt disturb me! Go away!Ó snapped Hinata, shrugging his hand off. If others can be selfish with the one they love, sometimes I can be selfish tooÉ IÕm just asking for one morningÉ
Naruto withdrew his rejected hand, sighing. ÒLook, Hina-chan, after we train the SSA nins, after we fight them, IÕll spend the whole of today and tomorrow with you. CÕmon, get up, Hina-chan,Ó Naruto coaxed, putting a hand at her shoulder again.
No reply.
ÒHina-chanÉÓ Naruto said, gently shaking her. ÒCÕmon, Hina-chanÉÓ
ÒGo away! Go to your squad and train them all you want, I donÕt care! IÕm nothing to you anyways, the squad is more important!Ó snapped Hinata, as tears stung in her eyes. Naruto, the ninsÉ are they really more important than me now? Before, in Tasogare, you never left my side until I woke upÉ
ÒWhaÉ No! Of course not, Hinata! What makes you think that IÕd put the nins above you? IÕd never do that!Ó Naruto defended, suddenly looping his arm around HinataÕs waist and forcing her to face him. As he saw her eyes brimming with tears, he bit his lip. How could I forget, Hinata has tantrums like these when I leave her in bed just for duty! - --U he did rememberÉ just a tad bit too late, isnÕt it? -
ÒTheyÕre more important, arenÕt they? Just because of this war?Ó sniffed Hinata, lowering her head. She rubbed at her eyes and turned around again, her back facing Naruto. ÒGo ahead, Naruto-kun, go and teach the ninsÉ IÕll just follow.Ó

Naruto sighed. ÒAre you sure, Hina-chan? You donÕt want me to stay here? IÕll stay if you want me to, I wont go anymore.Ó
ÒGo,Ó she said, her voice barely above a whisper. She couldnÕt bring herself to speak anymore, because she feared that she would break down in front of him if she spoke.
ÒO-okayÉ ifÉ thatÕs what you wantÉÓ Naruto whispered, placing a kiss on top of her head and then getting up, proceeding to the showers.
As soon as the door snapped shut and the water rushed out of the shower noisily, Hinata broke into constricted and racking sobs, her whole frame convulsing. She buried her face into the pillow and eventually calmed down after a while of crying into the poor soaked pillow. As Naruto came out, she forced her body to calm down and look as if she was asleep. She heard Naruto sigh and felt his eyes on her, staring. Then he sighed again. There was the rustle of clothes and evidently, Naruto was getting dressed. After a few minutes, Naruto walked over to the bed and crawled to her. He gave her a hug and a kiss on top of the head. Then he stood up and walked out of the room, closing the door silently with a small snap.
As he went out, Hinata raised her head and looked aroundÉ everything was in place. Naruto had arranged the dirty and discarded clothes from last night, and he had apparently gone out already. Hinata sighed. She felt her eyes sting again as she thought about him and she just forced herself up and went to the shower even if her whole body was sore.
She sighed. NarutoÉ

Naruto walked out of the room silently, thinking things over. Should he really be out here and not in there, comforting Hinata? Should he really be here and not in there, wrapping her in a warm hug as she sleeps? He thought things over and over until his head ached in just a matter of a minute. He sighed.
I just hope sheÕs not really mad at me or anythingÉ she was cryingÉ what am I thinking sheÕs not madÉ she is madÉ
He sighed again. He reached the kitchen and went inside, grabbing a bowl of rice on the table made by Sakura, who was giggling and talking with Sasuke. He sank down on his seat and placed the bowl on the table, toying with the food.
ÒWhatÕs wrong, Naruto?Ó asked Sakura.
Sigh.
ÒOiÉÓ Ino said. Sasuke clenched his fists.
Sigh.
Neji had a vein throbbing silently.
Sigh.
Shikamaru had an eyebrow going way up.
Sigh.
Lee is fuming.
Sigh.
Silence. Birds twittering. Silence.
CRASH! KABOOM! BAM!
ÒOW! OwwwwwiiiiiieeeeeeÉÓ Naruto moaned as he lay on the floor, reduced to a mere lump of bruises. Apparently Shikamaru had delivered a rabbit punch, Sasuke a smash kick, Neji a palm strike and Lee a power punch.
ÒCan you kindly stop SIGHING!Ó snapped Shikamaru. ÒYakkai naÉÓ - Troublesome or how troublesomeÉ -
ÒWhatÕs wrong, anyways?Ó Ino said, slurping her soup up. Naruto ambled back into his seat.
ÒNah, nuthinÕ,Ó Naruto said, trying to smile. Just then, Hinata entered the kitchen.
Sakura raised a brow when she didnÕt say a word to Naruto or even look at him. Then she whispered something to Sasuke, and Sasuke nodded.
Hinata retrieved a bowl of rice from the table and sat about 4 seats away from Naruto. Ino raised both her brows at this action. There is something definitely wrong hereÉ argumentÉ maybeÉ nahÉ can it be? - what kind of person has a kind of thinking like that? --U -
Fukai looked at Naruto then to Hinata. Naruto was sighing endlessly and Hinata was just plain silent and inexpressive. Then she leaned over to Neji to ask him something.
ÒNeji, are the two on?Ó
ÒYah, isnÕt it obvious?Ó
ÒWell, so-rry, only humanÉ anyways, what do you think is their problem?Ó
ÒMost likely they had an argument coz this dobe Naruto probably did something without thinking again,Ó Neji snorted, returning to his soup.
ÒHmmÉ does he really act dumb?Ó
ÒYah, all the time, but heÕs a tough opponent, I admitÉÓ
ÒOooÉ and I thought the great Neji would never admit something like thatÉÓ
ÒShut up, FukaiÉÓ snapped Neji. Fukai smirked contentedly. ÒNow youÕre the sadist.Ó
ÒAnd also proud of it, dude,Ó Fukai smirked. Then she broke out in snickers, then eventually peals of laughter. The others looked at her oddly.
ÒWhatÕs wrong with you?Ó asked Shikamaru.
ÒOh, nuthin, just a bit happy todayÉÓ snickered Fukai, smirking at Neji, who was glaring at her.

Sakura watched the SSA nin fight Hinata. It was already with Shourai Mori. Apparently the nin was losing to Hinata, since the poor boy was serving as an outlet for HinataÕs distress.
This is getting boringÉ its getting way too predictableÉ
Predictable it is. The fight ended a half-minute later, with Hinata as the winner, as usual. Nobody has still been able to defeat any of the four leaders. Next fight was still Hinata, with Amazaki Hayate. Then after that, two fights consecutive for Sasuke, then the last would be hers. It would be a long waitÉ
ÒSasuke-kun?Ó she said, making the boy beside him look at her. They were sitting in the protruding flat rock that Sasuke cleaned off. It was a long flat rock, so the four of them can sit down. Also, it was a bit high so it overlooked the battle area and showed the foliage in the flats.
ÒYeah? Is there anything wrong?Ó asked Sasuke, rubbing her arm.
ÒCan I sleep at your shoulder? IÕm getting a little bored hereÉÓ Sakura said, yawning. ÒI didnÕt get enough sleepÉÓ
ÒYeah, you didnÕt,Ó Sasuke said. ÒGo aheadÉÓ
Sakura leaned her head on his shoulder, and made herself comfortable in his arms, snuggling into the warmth. She stared off into space, looking at the faint blue sky over the horizon. She wasnÕt aware that she was gathering chakra into her sub-conscious mind, activating a power she had never dreamed she possessed.
As she closed her eyes, she saw black. Black, all black. Then after a few moments, images started flashing fast into her mind, like a movie in fast forward. The pictures were all blurred; she couldnÕt make anything out of it. And eventually it all slowed down, enough for her to understand.
The movie started.
The first scene showedÉ her, with her head on SasukeÕs shoulder and her eyes closed, and Sasuke watching the fight intently, recording the ninÕs performance, with an arm looped around her shoulders. It wasÉ strange. It was like she was watching the events that were yet to unfoldÉ but in a different perspective, in a spectatorÕs view.
The fight ended yet again with Hinata as winner. Hayate had launched a spinning kick with chakra to Hinata as he managed to get a gap open in the whirlwind, but his foot was caught in the strong wind currents and he was thrown off forcefully. Sasuke shook her awake, and then he stood up as Hinata went up to the rock and sat down beside her silently. The fight started as SasukeÕs opponent reached his place.
Then there was a rumble from above. Piles of snow cascaded down, attempting to bury an unsuspecting Sakura and Hinata, who were talking, and a sleeping Naruto!
Then the vision stopped. She snapped awake, her head snapping sharply up.
ÒHey, whatÕs wrong?Ó asked Sasuke, concerned that she suddenly awoke.
ÒYou just put your head on my shoulder a few moments agoÉ donÕt tell me thatÕs what you call sleep?Ó Sasuke chuckled.
ÒSa-sasuke-kunÉ I had a visionÉÓ
ÒA vision?Ó
ÒThereÕs gonna be a big avalanche here, and its gonna fall directly above usÉÓ
ÒHuh? When? This is weird, SakuraÉÓ
Just then, the fight between Hinata and Hayate ended and Sasuke was called down.
ÒSasuke-kun! As soon as your opponent takes his place! Its gonna happen, Sasuke-kun!Ó called Sakura from above. Then she turned her attention to Hinata. ÒHinata-chan. ThereÕs going to be an avalanche here, IÕll explain later, take Naruto and go to the cave, hurry!Ó
Hinata scrambled up and dragged the sleeping Naruto across the snow to the cave entrance.

Sakura scrambled off the rock and ran to Sasuke, pulling him to the cave. Neji was bewildered and the SSA nin was outraged.
Then came the rumble. The piles of snow came down crashing, and the SSA nins tripled their speed, trying their hardest to get to the cave entrance.
As the sheets of snow folded over the plain that was their fighting field, everybody was in the cave entrance, panting but proud of having outrun a natural disaster. Sasuke pulled the lever that closed the thick wooden door of the cave entrance to prevent the snow to cascade all the way down to base.
ÒShit, every time we fight, it gets disturbed!Ó whined Kashin Rai, SasukeÕs opponent. ÒDammit!Ó
ÒMaybe next time, Rai,Ó Sasuke said. ÒRight nowÉ Sakura here has lots to explain.Ó

ÒHonestly, I had no idea how I got the visionÉÓ Sakura said.
The SSA and the heads were all sitting in the common room, discussing about what happened up in the SSA field. Sasuke, Neji and Shikamaru, as well as several of the SSA, who were brainy, such as Yuri Aikawa and Taira Aira, were interrogating Sakura. The poor girl was stressed out, not being able to know how she harnessed the vision, which saved their lives, and which could prove useful in further activities.
ÒMaybe by knowing where she last focused her chakra, we could provide more clues into it,Ó Fukai said. ÒI know a jutsu which can track where she last focused an amount of chakra.Ó
ÒOkay, do it,Ó said Sakura and Sasuke simultaneously. Fukai stood up and performed several seals in front of Sakura and placed her hand on top of her head. A white light glowed sinisterly under FukaiÕs hand and after a few seconds, the light disappeared and Fukai broke away.
ÒShe last focused her chakra in her sub-conscious mind.Ó
ÒIn my sub-conscious mind?Ó
ÒYup. That explains why you donÕt know about it. If you focus your chakra in your sub-conscious mind, you get a vision of the near future. It depends on how much chakra you give into it,Ó Fukai explained as a matter-of-factly.
ÒOooookayÉÓ said Ino. ÒMaybe we need to prove that.Ó
ÒTry to make a prediction, Sakura, and whisper it to me and Shikamaru. WeÕll see if it happens. Only short term, okay?Ó said Sasuke.
ÒOkay,Ó said Sakura. She concentrated her chakra in her sub-conscious mind. Slowly she felt the images going againÉ like a movie.
She was looking at herself, standing in the middle and concentrating, then she opened her eyes. She walked over to Sasuke and Shikamaru and whispered something to them and then waited, sitting beside Sasuke in the couch. Then Amazaki Hayate shattered the glass he was holding due to the force he applied.
She snapped her eyes open. She grinned and walked over to Sasuke and Shikamaru and whispered that Hayate was going to break the glass. She sat down beside Sasuke and waited patiently for a few tense moments. Tense moments indeed.
Hayate, due to the excitement, shattered the glass, and the shards went flying around. Everybody blocked, and no one was wounded.
ÒGreat! You do have clairvoyance,Ó said Shikamaru. ÒHe did break his glass!Ó
ÒThat could prove really handy in battle, donÕt you think, Sasuke?Ó grinned Naruto.
ÒYahÉÓ said Sasuke.
ÒWell, its already afternoonÉ and since we cant do just one last fight since there was an avalancheÉ I think weÕll call it a day,Ó Neji said.
The nins walked off, chatting about the newfound clairvoyance that Sakura possessed. Sakura laughed and then laid her head on SasukeÕs shoulder again. Then Hinata walked off to their room. Naruto followed.

Naruto shut the door behind him with a resounding snap.
