Ragnarok

The `doom of gods,' is the day when the Gods will perish in battle, and the world will be consumed and destroyed in a cycle of fire and destruction. First, Fimbulvetr, the winter of winters, shall sweep the lands in which man has carved their living upon, covering all surfaces with frost and cold, with no summer in between. Strife will grow, and feuds will grow, even between the closest of families, and morality shall disappear. This marks the beginning of the end.

The wolf Skoll, chaser of the sun, the light of day, shall succeed in his quest and devour the sun. His brother Hati, who pursues the moon, the glow of night, will swallow the moon, plunging the earth into an abyss of darkness. The stars will vanish from the skies, and the cock Fjalar will crow to the giants, while the golden cock Gullinkambi, will cry to the Gods. A third crow, nameless, shall raise the dead with its horrendous croaks.

The earth will shudder with earthquakes, and every bond and fetter will burst, freeing the terrible wolf Fenrir, the son of Loki and Angrbooa, the giantess. The oceans will rear up because Jormungand, the Midgard Serpent, is twisting and writhing in fury as he makes his way toward the land. With every foul breath, Jormungand will stain the soil and the sky with his poison. The waves caused by the serpent's emerging will set free the ship Naglfar, and with the giant Hymir as their commander, the giants will sail towards the destined battlefield. From the realm of the dead a second ship will set sail, and this ship carries the inhabitants of hell, with Loki as their helmsman. The fire giants, led by the giant Surt, will leave Muspell in the south to join the battle against the gods. Surt, carrying a sword that blazes like the sun itself, will scorch the earth as he plows towards the battlefield.

The Gods too, prepare for this final deciding battle that will be their doom. Heimdall will sound his horn, calling the sons of Odin and the heroes to the battlefield. From all the corners of the world, gods, giants, dwarves, demons and elves will ride towards the huge plain of Vigrid, where the last battle will be fought. Odin will engage Fenrir in battle, and Thor will attack Jormungand. Thor will emerge victorious, but the serpent's deadly poison will gradually kill the god of thunder. Surt will seek out the swordless Freyr, who will quickly succumb to the giant. The one-handed Tyr will fight the monstrous hound Garm, the guardian of hell, and they will fight, but both will perish. Loki and Heimdall, age-old enemies, will meet for a final time, and neither will survive their encounter. The fight between Odin and Fenrir will rage for an age, but finally Fenrir will seize Odin and consume him, swallowing the god down to his foul bowels. Odin's son Vidar will rise, and leap towards the wolf and kill him with his bare hands, ripping the wolf's jaws apart in vengence for his father.

Then Surt will swing his sword about, flinging fire in every direction. The nine worlds will burn, and friends and foes alike will perish. The earth will sink into the sea.

But all is not lost. A new and purer world will arise from the sea and will be filled with abundant supplies. Some of the gods will survive, others will be reborn. Wickedness and misery will no longer exist and gods and men will live happily together. The descendants of Lif and Lifthrasir will inhabit this earth. So says the prophesy of doom, but also of rebirth and new life. And now, a inhabitant not of this world, shall decide the fate of Gods, giants, and all the race of this world.

His name, is Uzumaki Naruto

“ROGER!”

Four fast blurs races through the trees towards the center of the Land of Fire, leaving behind 4 burning bodies in the midst of a battle field.

The leader of this squad, Shinichiro Kurama, ANBU Captain, and his team, were charged with the elimination of several nuke-nin in the borders of Hi no Kuni (Land of Fire). His team consisted of two other Jonin and one chunnin under ANBU service. Sakatski Gram, a layed back shinobi who, despite his cheerfulness even when fighting, is a extremely powerful fighter. Next, a accomplished Kunoichi called Ikkahana Kamiya, who was the extreme opposite of Gram, serious and dedicated.

Finally, is Uzumaki Naruto, at a age of 15, who is unaware that his life is about to take a turn in which even the Gods did not forsee. His choices will decide the fate of an entire world.

Currently, the team is racing back towards their place of origin, where one of the most powerful, or perhaps the most powerful, shinobi village resides.

This, is Konohagakure, the Village Hidden in the Leaves. Home to some of the most talented ninja ever to grace the shinobi continents.

Sunlight shined through the tree leaves as Naruto leaps among the branches with his team. Returning from a mission success, the team was eager to get back home to Konoha and relax. They were still quite a distance from the might village and it had grown dark so they decided to camp down for the night. Kurama ordered Naruto to obtain firewood while Gram went to get water.

As Naruto rummaged around the forest floor for suitable wood, a gleam of light from the corner of his eyes caught his attention. Curious, he decided to investigate. The handle of a weapon came into view has he drew closer. Cautiously, he grabbed it, and lifted the rest of the weapon from the ground. He gasped as the blade of a magnificent sword came into view as the foliage which had covered it fell away. It was a sword of masterful craftsman ship. The blade, was made of a silvery, blue metal that he could not identify. Hell he had never seen anything as strange or as marvelous as the sword he holds in this hands now.

Suddenly, the blade starts to glow with a iridescent white light. Lightning cackled around the entire sword as it gave off a humming sound. Naruto nearly dropped the sword, but something stayed his hand, some invisible force held his fingers around the handle. A voice, beautifully toned, rang in his ear.

“Yes,” it said, no doubt female, “You are……the one who will save the Gods.”

It drifted off as the light surrounded Naruto, shining so brightly that his teammates spotted the light from their camp. Immediately, they leapt into the trees, converging upon their teammates location, only to see him swallowed by a white light. In a flash, both the light and Naruto were gone. Kurama, knowing how Tsunade felt about the boy, voice everyone's thoughts.

“Oh……shit.”

Naruto reappeared in a flash of light, lying face down on the soft forest ground still clutching the sword. Our hero has grown, in these past few two to three years. From a short, loud, but powerful runt, into a strong shinobi who is as skilled as a Jonin. Currently, he wore the traditional ANBU armor, cloak, and the standard straight, single edged sword that is issued to all ANBU. His mask was that of a fox.

He stirred, and pushed himself from the ground, disturbing several rabbit like creatures who had come to investigate to light. Sighing, he took off his mask and cloak. Training under Jiraiya of the Sannin has stripped all baby fat of his face, and body, leaving strong, muscles in their absence. His muscles were not bulky, nor was it scrawny, but one can sense the strength inside his muscles.

Standing up and surveying his surroundings with his still blue eyes, which were an endless ocean of sapphire. His hair, while still blond and spiky, was no longer messy. It was longer, and curved around his face, and his bangs partially hung over his eyes. Despite all these changes though, his personality stayed mostly the same.

Standing up, Naruto surveyed his surroundings and spoke the only thing in his mind.

“Where am I?”

And now for the explanation section:

The three OCs that I made have nothing to do with the story, they are just characters I made up for fun and will no longer appear after the second chapter.

Ragnarok: In Norse mythology, it is the end and rebirth of the world. In some other religions, it is known as Judgment Day, when the world will be destroyed, but then built anew, clean of sins.

The sword does have a specific name which will be revealed in the second or third chapter.

The rabbit creatures are called Lunatics, which are one of the weakest monsters you'll find and are excellent targets for weak, or new characters.

Now, to any RO players who might be reading this.

I just want to say that I play on a private server, Lightside Legend Ragnarok Online. Although there are few differences, some of the skills and monster names might be different from IRO players. So please, be patient as I will but all skills, monsters, and items, IRO name and LLRO name at the end of chapters in which they have been used.

BTW, my characters name is KARYUUDAN, lvl 97 wizard(yes all capitalized, don't ask me why)

The mask that Naruto wears is actually called Fox Mask in RO. It is quite hard to obtain unless your at a decent level.
